The guy stood no chance. His neck was snapped instantly. Once he was dead, the werewolf throws him down a chute.
"Your heart would have been delicious." Werewolves no longer needed to survive on blood, the angel perfected them. Said it was the only way to keep them safe from hunters. Humans still smelled so good, Brett was always tempted to eat. But he kept his appetite in check, raw steaks were a nice snack. He goes inside a office. "That was the last human." He smiles at his boss.
"You didn't leave a mess behind again did you? Can't get sloppy these days."
Brett swallowed in nervousness.
"I'll clean up."
"Get rid of the bodies, I want this place scrubbed clean."
"Yes sir." Brett bows as he walked out.
Two more wolves walk in, leading a reluctant Garth and his neighbour Ted.
"Here are two more." Garth was so glad he sent Bess and his children away. He didn't want them hurt.
Michael turns around, his eyes glowing.
"Garth Fitzgerald the IV. It's a pleasure." He saw Garth glaring at him. "What? You don't care about this face?"
Garth wisely kept his mouth shut.
"Leave us." Michael was wearing a suit, he liked being professional. Once the werewolves were gone, Michael smiles at his guests.
"What do you want with us." Garth forced himself to look past Dean's handsome face. Dark Michael, Sam and Dean warned Garth what he was doing to monsters.
"Not to kill you." Ignoring Garth's best friend, Michael paces back and forth. "You both have families, and want the best for them. But the hunger, it will eventually get harder for your children."
Garth stares blankly ahead, he worried everyday about his kids.
"Work with me, and your children will never starve. The future, you seen it yourselves. Monsters, they will eventually starve and go insane when humans take that vaccine."
"The War. It will destroy everything." Ted tells him.
"Yes, that pesky war." Michael turns and looks out the window. "You like the view? It's gorgeous. But nothing beats the mountains."
Garth loved his hometown, Wisconsin was beautiful. But he always dreamed about moving with his family to the mountains. Hopefully the War didn't reach there.
Michael turns back around and walks over to his desk.
"Here. Two vials. You have three choices. Drink it, inject it, or die. You have ten seconds."
Garth stared at the glowing liquid.
"Don't be nervous, only seven percent of volunteers die. Mostly vamps."
"Russian Roulette. My favourite." Ted drinks it up. "Holy sh-." His eyes glow blue. "My senses." His senses were good, he could smell a human a mile away. But he could now tell the difference between a human and a witch.
Garth didn't want to drink it, he wasn't sure what would happen. Seeing Michael staring down at him, Garth swallows his fear. He just hoped the drink didn't kill him.
Holy crap. Garth didn't expect that. He looked over at Michael.
"I always liked you. When Bobby Singer died in my world, you stepped up. You helped save my wife when she was kidnapped by that hunter." Michael orders them to stand up. "You're free to go, you can live like ordinary people now."
Garth, he just hoped he wasn't making a mistake.
Westport, Washington
"Thanks for the food Cas." Dean burps as he swallows the last fry. "This room, thanks for taking the couch." Dean was glad his king sized bed was comfortable.
"You're welcome." Castiel made the arrangements, Dean didn't have a credit card.
"Just one question. What names are we checked in as?"
Before Cas can answer, there was a knock.
"Mind getting that?" Dean wanted to read the newest edition of Busty Asian Beauties.
"Dean?" Cas had a helpless look on his face.
"How's it going, Agent Spears and Aguilera." Sam smirked as he and Bobby walked in. "Nice room! Imagine what the shippers would write? Destiel."
"What did you call me?" Dean was glaring at Cas. "I told you to pick something cool!"
"You always picked names of popular musicians."
"Wow." Dean had no words. He looked over at Bobby.
"Sorry Son. But you can't keep Sam away."
"You two know where she is? Because you're not doing this alone." Bobby called a few hunters, Rufus was on his way. "Cas, what do you know about Neena and The Hunter."
San Francisco, California
Melinda was staring confusedly at the two women.
"I'm sorry, where are my clothes? Who are you?" She looked around. "Did you change your mind about burning me at the stake?"
"Will you excuse us?" Phoebe pulls Paige away.
"What's going on?" Paige was looking back at Melinda who was staring at the telescope in fascination.
"Melinda, I think she's in shock." Lily warned Phoebe that Melinda may come back as a different person. "We have to take this slowly."
"That's not our only problem." Paige walked over to Lily who was slumped dead. "She gave her life force to Melinda." She read the translation, a soul can return from the dead, but the castor had to make the ultimate sacrifice. "I have to call for a ambulance." She picks up the phone. "Hello, Kevin? Can you call the paramedics?"
They gave Melinda some clothes, they were pretending she was a patient. They watched as Lily's body was taken away by the coroner. Paige was pretending she was her great, great grand niece.
"We only just met recently. Great Aunt Lily was considered the black sheep of the family." She was telling the cop. Standard protocol, every death had to be reported.
"I'm very sorry for your loss." Officer Ellis closes his book. "You coming to school tomorrow?" He was the instructor for the gun class.
"Bright and early Monday morning." Paige already told Officer Hill she had another family emergency. No offence to Lily, but her death was a perfect excuse. "If you excuse me, I have a funeral to plan."
"I understand. And again, my condolences." Once the paramedics and cop were gone, Paige walks back to Phoebe. "Well?"
"We can bury her in her hometown. Right beside her daughter."
"Not that!" When Phoebe's eyebrows rose, Paige clears her throat. "When we get back, I'll contact the funeral home in Orono."
"Good idea." She clears her throat. "Melinda. She has amnesia. She doesn't know who I am."
"Of course." Paige should have known their job wouldn't be easy. "Let's get her something to eat, and try to ease her to the future."
Dean, Sam, Bobby and Castiel were in the hotel room exchanging notes.
"So you dealt with weird hybrids? What did you call them again?"
"Eds." Bobby tells him.
"Eds? Lame. Should have called them Jefferson Starships."
"Told you." Sam tells Bobby.
Bobby just scoffed.
"What? They are horrible and hard to kill."
"Did you kill them?" Castiel asks.
"We made sure." Whoever the Hunter was, Bobby hoped he cleaned up the mess.
"Alright. We have a lead on the bitch."
"Down south, there's reports of weird events. Biblical in nature." Castiel recognized the signs.
"Let's get on the road then!" Sam needed to see his wife.
"Not yet." Dean looks at Bobby and grimaces. "That looks like it hurts."
"You owe me son." Bobby was wearing a large bandage on his face.
"We can't go in blind, this witch, she'll be laying a trap for us." Castiel knew her by reputation.
"He's right. She's been around as long as Cas. She'll know every trick in the book." Dean wanted to play the hero, but wisely listened to Castiel.
"Any ideas?" Bobby asked.
"I'm calling Paige and Phoebe. They'll want to be here."
"Washington State?" Paige was rubbing her temple. "Yeah, we seen the signs as well, but we figured it was another false alarm." They checked out everything unusual, most were dead ends. "Right now we're in the middle of something. Once we figure it out, we'll be on the first flight out." At the moment, Phoebe was trying to remind Melinda about their fight with Matthew Tate. "Don't do anything impulsive, once we do things on our end, we'll be there. Get some rest. Bye Sam."
Poor Melinda was getting scared. Seeing Paige talking on her cell, she demanded a explanation.
"What kind of warlocks are you!" She used her freezing magic, or tried to. Both women were staring at her. Melinda shrunk back. "Please, leave my daughter alone." Prudence, she was only three.
Both women look at one another.
"Will you excuse us?" Paige pulls Phoebe away. "We can't do this." She had patients that were possessed for decades, her longest patient was a angel vessel for over a century. "She may be here for a long time." Melinda, she had no idea she's been dead for over three hundred years.
"We don't have that amount of time!" Phoebe whispered back. "We need the Power of Three, and without Piper, we're useless! Wait. I have a idea." She carefully walks up to Melinda. "Melinda, you said you have a daughter."
Melinda, understandably spits in Phoebe's face.
"Go to hell. When you're there, say hello to Matthew."
"Any other ideas?" Paige watches as Phoebe washes her face.
"I'm going in. Paige, call Eva, we may need the power of a gypsy."
Melinda gasps when Phoebe grabs her.
"Don't touch me! Stop!"
"Good luck Pheebs." She knew what Phoebe was doing, hopefully Neena doesn't find out.
"So now what." Sam was typing in his laptop, he wanted to see of there was any more weird events. Dean sighed and looked out the window. He already called his wife, she and Laura were watching a movie with Jody and Donna. Claire and Alex were on a hunt in town. God, he needed a drink. He had to head to the liquor store soon.
"Don't look at me." Bobby was there for the first Armageddon, and had nightmares about the future. Was this the catalyst that started everything? "Cas?"
"I need to urinate."
William glares at the demon.
"We want nothing from you. Leave us alone." Piper's breathing was slow at the moment, but it wouldn't last very long, her contractions were starting.
"You can't take my baby." She mumbled. "Hoo. Hoo." What a time to be alone.
"You." Piper turned around at William's voice. The demon Crowley was standing in the doorway.
"Hello Mrs Moose."
"You can't take my baby. Ahh!" She grabbed her belly. "Will!"
"I'm not going anywhere." He glares at Crowley and the demon. "I'm putting my hands down. Slowly."
"Keep them up." Dr Paul orders.
"I would never put Piper's life on the line." He takes her hand. "How are you feeling?"
"Like blowing these fuckers up!" She swore. They were lucky her powers were bounded.
"Charming." Crowley dials a familiar number.
"Hello?" Sam's familiar voice says.
"Hello Moose." Crowley smiled at Sam's shocked silence. Hearing Sam's name Piper calls out.
"SAM!" She was immediately backhanded across the face by Dr Paul.
"Don't hurt her!" Crowley ordered.
Sam's hand clenched the phone so hard it cracked.
"Where is she?" He growled.
Dean and everyone else looked up when Sam stood up on his feet. His face was red and furious.
"Safe. Don't blame me, I didn't do this. I want her safe as much as you do." Crowley takes out a Cuban cigar. "I have a Gurkha Cigar, I want to celebrate your baby's birth."
"Go to Hell." Sam said furiously. He turns on the speaker.
"Crowley, I swear." Dean swore.
"Is that Squirrel? Why aren't you home with the Misses?"
"You stay the hell away." Dean will kill anyone that goes near his family.
"What do you want?" Sam demanded.
"Don't blame me, I didn't do this. I just came here to confront the witch." Crowley was about to light his cigar, till he saw Piper's glare. Immediately he puts back his cigar. "A piece of advice. Don't come here. Neena, she and her husband know more about magic and hunting than anyone else. I mean it."
Sam was shaking with anger. Once he heard the beeping, he smashes his phone against the wall so hard, he puts a hole in the wall.
"There goes your security deposit Cas." Dean joked.
Sam was white hot with rage. He was about to leave when Bobby grabbed him. Luckily Castiel was close by and was able to grab his fist before he hit Bobby.
"Dean! A little help!" Bobby and Castiel were holding Sam, Sam was strong.
Dean, Bobby and Cas had a hell of a time holding Sam, he was furiously trying to get out the door.
"You heard Crowley! Going there will put your wife in danger!" Bobby yells.
"And you believe him! Dammit! Let me go!" Sam manages to break free, but not before punching Dean in the face, slamming his head backwards onto Castiel's head, and shoving Bobby away. He then ran out before anyone could stop him.
"Dammit!" Bobby couldn't grab him in time, Sam was long gone. Guy was quick.
"Dean! You can't let Sam go! He'll put us all in danger!"
"I know." Dean was holding his nose, thankfully it wasn't broken. He prayed to the only person who could stop Sam. 'Phoebe. Stop Sam.'
Phoebe was watching helplessly at the shouts. Men and women were screaming at her, screaming that she brought evil to the world. She closed her eyes when she saw the torch. That was the last thing she remembered.
'Melinda? Melinda!'
Melinda Warren looked up from her sewing. She liked it here, it was quiet and far away from the villagers. Hearing her name, she looked up.
"Coming!" Goodness was that person loud. She was alone, yelling wasn't necessary. When she opened the door, she saw a young woman dressed in odd looking clothes. "Good day." Why was this woman wearing paint on her face? "May I help you?"
Phoebe knew it was a long shot, but she hoped Melinda remembered who she was.
"Melinda, hi. Name's Phoebe Halliwell. We met before."
Paige couldn't do nothing but watch, both women were deep asleep.
"Met? I'm sorry. If I met someone that dressed so odd, I would remember. Are you related to Josephine Goode?" She was a spunky girl, unlike the rest of the villagers, Melinda liked her. Thought she was funny. Shame she was accused for witchcraft.
'Phoebe. Stop Sam. Please. He's on his way to Piper.'
"Stop Sam?" Melinda looks closer at Phoebe. "You a whitelighter?"
"You heard that?" Phoebe was amazed.
"As a witch I sometimes hear the witches calls." Hearing the prayer again, she smiles at Phoebe. "I don't need a whitelighter, I can protect myself."
"Ah..." Poor Melinda. Hopefully her daughter had a whitelighter. She heard Dean's prayers, but she needed Melinda first. Luckily time moves differently in a dream. "Melinda, what was the last thing you remember."
"What kind of question is that?" She looked confused.
"Please. Think hard." Phoebe begged.
Melinda didn't know what to think, but she had a feeling to trust this stranger. She closed her eyes.
"Goodie Warren do you have anything to say for your defence?" The Judge says before the fire was lit.
Melinda said nothing, but prayed that little Prudence was taken care of. She then prayed that the fire was quick.
"I died." She looked at Phoebe. "Matthew." Him. He was responsible for her death. "He didn't escape did he?" If a warlock got her powers, the world will be in danger.
"Not that I know of. Melinda. You remember me?"
"You're Phoebe." This isn't real. This place, Melinda hadn't lived here for years. "Where am I? What do you want with me?"
"I'll explain everything. But first, we gotta wake up."
Paige was giving both steaming cups of coffee.
"Thanks." Phoebe was drinking her cup, she was incredibly tired.
"I never thought I'll be back." Melinda was looking around. "This isn't your home." The manor looked so different. She smiled at Paige. "So there is another sister.''
"Name's Paige. I'm their half-sister."
"Also half-whitelighter." Phoebe, remembering Dean's prayer, makes a call.
"A half-whitelighter? My goodness the future is different." Melinda was confused in why she came back, Matthew was gone. She made sure he was gone for good. "If I'm back, there is something you need me with." She looked around. "Where's Prue? Where's Piper?"
"That's why we need you. Prue, she is away. But our sister, she is being targeted by The First Witch."
"Say no more." Melinda tells Phoebe. She heard stories from her fellow witches. "Tell me what to do."
Sam was in a church, he had no idea where else to go for help. He was staring at the Holy Cross, he didn't know who else to ask. He closed his eyes and kneeled.
'I don't know who You Are, or even that You exist. But if the off chance, You are listening, I need help. My wife, she is in danger. My brother, he is hiding her from me. Please. I don't know what to do.'
Sam prayed for a long time, he just hoped the Person he was talking to was real.
"I thought I'll find you here." Dean knew Sam prayed all the time, he knew their mom did before she died.
Sam ignored Dean who sighs. Dean then kneels down beside him.
"Look, I didn't want to do that, but you would have put her in danger." Dean almost clasped his hand in prayer, but changed his mind. Instead, he kneels beside his brother.
Sam said nothing. His eyes were closed and his head was down praying quietly.
"I promise you, she'll come home, you, her and your baby. All three of you can start your life." Dean whispered.
"Amen." Sam looked up. "You promise me that?" Sam, he knew he'll never live with himself if anything happened to her.
"I promise." Dean didn't know if he can do it, but he'll be damned if he broke Sam's heart. He sat with Sam for a few more minutes.
"I'll hold you to that." Sam gets up, and helpfully helps Dean up as well.
"Ow!" Whoops. He heard the priest coughing in annoyance. "Sorry padre." Dean's legs were sore and stiff and had trouble walking.
"Need help Dean?" Sam teased seeing Dean limping.
"I'll be fine." Ow. "You think you can drive?" No way he could. Not right now.
"Sure." Once they were outside, both were startled when they saw a burning bush that randomly burst into flames.
"Not a coincidence." Dean didn't believe in miracles.
"Or she is tricking us." Neena could try anything. "Where to?" Since Sam was driving, he needed Dean's directions.
"Back to the hotel. Bobby says he may have a lead."
"This Neena, why haven't I heard of her? Or her husband?"
Castiel was looking out the window, he was praying hard Dean found Sam.
"She and her mate existed long before the first word was written."
"Wasn't Abel a writer?" Bobby heard stories on how Abel wrote countless stories about God.
"Humans lived a lot longer back then." When he saw the Impala, he breathed a sigh of relief. Sam was with Dean. "She and her mate disappeared from society for a very long time. Adam and Eve were long dead before they returned, their descendants had no idea who they were. When they displayed their powers, they were believed to be gods. They were revered and worshipped, but before anyone could write history, monsters and demons came to Earth." Castiel said the fight was long and bloody, luckily fatalities were few and far between. "The Elders, they erased everyone's memories, they were afraid that humans will forget God."
"Then why does she want to end the world? Plus why would she take a innocent baby. There is stronger witches and hunters out there." Bobby knew about the Charmed Ones and Rowena. As for Hunters, he was considered one of the best.
"I don't know. I hadn't been to Heaven for a very long time." Although he thought he heard countless chatters that one of The Fates was dead. "That baby, we cannot let her have it."
"Obviously." When the boys walked in, Bobby asked what their game plan was.
"We wait." Sam told Dean that they needed to wait for instructions from Phoebe.
Neena was giving instructions to her army. She couldn't get to her demon horde, Crowley took them away. But Michael's Monster Army were a better way to hide. They were all infused with archangel blood. She smiled at their fangs. Every one of them was starved and feral thanks to Rennek who helped her mutate them.
"Tonight it all ends. Your kind will rule Earth, every human vulnerable to monsters." She smiled at their growls. Some had a monstrous look, especially the vampires. "Before I let you feast, I need you to do something for me. Keep the hunters on Earth distracted. Kill any and all hunter and witch you see, evil or not." Neena hated the thought of killing her descendants, but this was the only way to free everyone. Hopefully they all were reincarnated as free men and women. "Now go!" She just needed them for a short while, she had to get the whitelighter. Once they left, she turns to Rennek. "Can you control them?"
"Easily." Rennek had his darklighter bow. Worthless against angels, but humans were vulnerable. Arrows were sharp.
"Draw the Charmed Ones to Piper. Then when you see Paige, take her. Her blood will open the Gate." Neena's treasure was inside the Whitelighter Temple, only a whitelighter or Elder could open it. What was inside, everyone will be strong. Mortals, witches. They will become one. Never again will any witch be burned. She turned to look out the window.
Phoebe, Paige and Melinda were discussing how to save Piper when Phoebe's phone rang.
"Hello?"
"I will never stop being amazed about the future." Everyone could communicate with a magical phone. Paige just smiled. She liked Melinda, she was so nice.
"What?! How many?! Oh god." Phoebe closed her eyes. "Call every hunter you know. I'm calling Dean."
"What. What is it?" Phoebe's expression frightened Paige.
"Monsters are attacking all over the northern west coast. People are dying left and right." According to Kyra, they were feral in appearance. "We have to go." Piper was smack dab in the middle.
"What about Neena?"
"Piper and her baby are in trouble. We'll worry about Neena later." She looked at Melinda. "Is there a spell to hide among monsters?"
As soon as they got the call, all four men started packing.
"I know some hunters in the area. You, Sam can go with Cas." Bobby could hear sirens. "Be careful out there."
"We will." Dean shakes hands with Bobby. "Sam, Cas. Let's go." All three walk out, immediately getting ambushed by a newborn vampire. Dean took no time blowing her head off. "No time to stop."
Piper was breathing harder, she was glad she wasn't alone, Will was wiping her brow.
"Will? Will my baby be okay?" She never felt so scared.
"Of course." William kisses her head. He wasn't attracted to Piper, but she was important to the world. He was glad Crowley and the demon was gone, whoever called Crowley must have scared him off.
"My sisters. My husband. Ow!" Her contractions were getting stronger and more frequent. "Hoo hoo." She breathed.
"They'll be here soon." He'll make sure of it. 'Hurry.' Piper's water didn't break yet, but it was a matter of time. "I'll protect you with everything I have." He was only a whitelighter, but it didn't mean he couldn't fight.
"We're using magic?" They were disguised as vampires, Paige flinched at their looks. They had the sharp teeth and everything. We look like Nosferatu." The vampire in that film was believed to be the first Hollywood vampire, a true classic, many considered the film a masterpiece.
"It's only until we get to Neena. Once we get close, we'll bound her powers." Phoebe grimaced looking in the mirror. Her eyes were bloodshot red, her ears pointed with her hands looking like sharp claws. "Man, you're good." Melinda was truly talented.
"Woman you mean." Melinda corrected. Their disguise was so good, monsters cannot smell their human blood.
"At least you don't have to worry about your hair." All three were bald. Phoebe knew how vain Paige was about her looks. "Shall we get going?" They contacted everyone they knew, every one was on high alert, every witch they knew were keeping an eye on things. She, Paige and Melinda all hold hands. "Lets do this!" They shimmer away.
Dean, Sam and Cas were dead quiet as they drove down the highway. They saw the monsters, but none got out of the car. Bobby's words rang in their ears.
'What if this was the catalyst that started everything?'
Dean forced himself to look away when two hitchhikers were waving for help.
"Dean!" As worried as he was for his wife, there was innocents on the road.
"Not our problem." Dean tells Sam.
"We have bigger problems." Castiel chimes in.
"One of them is a kid!" That girl was at least fifteen. She and who Sam had to assume was her older brother was waving frantically. "DEAN!"
Dean sighed. When he stopped the car, he watched his rear view window. The two hitchhikers were running to the car with grateful expressions.
"There is two. We have over seven billion to save." Castiel scolds.
"If we turn back on one, we are no different than monsters." Sam tells him back. He rolled down his window.
"Thanks for stopping." The guy tells Sam. He and the girl were dirty and dishevelled.
"Get in." Sam saw a vampire coming out of the woods. Once they get in in the back, Dean floors it. Good thing too, more monsters started coming out.
"Damn vamps." Out of all the monsters Dean fought, he hated vampires the most.
"What happened?" Sam saw they both had ripped clothes.
"We were on a camping trip. A survival course. There was nine of us. We...were learning how to live off the land." The girl who introduced herself as Maggie tells them.
"Then out of no where, those things came out of the woods! Maggie, Cory and I were fishing when we heard the screams." The guy was visibly shaken. "We ran back to see everyone getting their throats ripped out." He started shaking.
"Cory, his little brother was getting eaten alive. He, he..." Maggie teared up. "He was ripped apart trying to save him." She started crying.
"And so it begins." Dean remarked. He swore when Sam smacked him.
"You have to excuse my brother." Sam saw their expressions. "Cas?"
"I would need your insurance info. I, uh, run a hospital."
"Fine. Whatever. Just get us as far away as possible." The guy squeezes Maggie's shoulder. "We'll be okay." He saw a empty liquor bottle on the floor. "You don't have anything strong do you?''
"My god." Phoebe couldn't believe the carnage. The town was overrun by monsters. "Where is everyone?" She couldn't see any humans.
"Maybe Piper warned everyone to hide." Paige whispered back.
"Or..." Wouldn't be the first time she heard of entire towns disappearing.
"Don't think like that." Phoebe hoped this wasn't the beginning of Armageddon. "We have to get to Piper."
"What about Neena?" Melinda was strong, but she knew her powers were merely a whisper compared to hers.
"One thing at a time. Act natural, like you are looking for food." Phoebe could sense their hunger. "Let's go." They were carrying potions, wasn't guaranteed to kill monsters, but it was perfect for subduing them. She and the others pretended they were sniffing the air for food.
"Here." Dean stopped in front of the house. "Cas, you think you can handle this?" They couldn't leave these two behind, so they asked Castiel to babysit.
"I don't need a sitter." The guy was glaring at Castiel.
"He's the best chance you have against those creatures." Sam tells him. He smiled at a nervous Maggie. "He'll protect you. I promise."
Maggie smiles back.
"Be careful Dean." Castiel hated leaving them by themselves.
"We'll be fine." He and Sam wave goodbye. Once they were on the road, Sam asked what their game plan was. "I don't know." Dean fought many monsters, even humans during Azazel's stupid demon camp. But a war with the most strongest witch in existence? He had no clue where to start. "We get to Sis, then we run like a bat out of hell. We'll deal with the details later."
"Sounds like a plan." Sam didn't say anything more the rest of the way.
"So where too?" All three were sticking together, pretending to scout. Phoebe growled at a vampire who was staring.
"Melinda and I will look for Neena, that way you can get to Piper." Paige whispered back.
"I don't want my daughters hurt. Please be careful." Melinda lost out of Prudence's childhood, she'll be damned to lose out on Piper's baby's.
"We will." Once they walked through the woods, all three felt their disguises melting away. "Piper." Phoebe felt the runes. "She's here."
"She must have put those out to protect herself." Paige felt herself getting weaker.
"Once we pass through, we'll be completely vulnerable." Melinda yawned.
"But so will Neena." Even as The First, she'll be completely helpless. "Piper will be safe here." As tempted as she was to go forward, she knew she couldn't. "Any ideas?"
"We need a hunter."
"Sam." He had to be there for his wife. Even though it may mean he may be powerless himself.
"He knows what's he doing. Dean is a trained paramedic." Paige tells a worried Phoebe. "This is our fight."
Phoebe was disappointed that she'll miss being there for Piper's birth for her first child, but if they don't stop Neena, the world will die, Piper and her child included.
"Okay. We have to draw Neena away from here. Any ideas?"
"I have one, but it is extremely dangerous."
Once Paige explained her idea, Phoebe was shaking her head furiously.
"No. No. No. No." Paige wanted her powers unbounded, she wanted to go to the Whitelighter's Temple. "That's what she wants!" Her visions. Once Paige opens those doors, Neena will take the treasures inside. Magic would be released to the world. She, her sisters. All three would be completely powerless. All witches and warlocks would be mortal, while ordinary people become witches. It would be disastrous.
"It's the only way." Paige knew she'll be a target for Michael, but she had no choice. "We can call upon our ancestors." Patty, Patricia, Prudence, Melinda's daughter. Plus countless others. "We can't summon their spirits to Earth. But up there, the rules don't apply."
"But who would be the carrier?" There was one weapon that could only be used by a whitelighter. It was a last resort to destroy the Key. Melinda heard of it from her whitelighter, but never asked for details.
"Guess it could be me." Leo would be a better fighter, but he was dead. "Can't ask Kevin, he won't leave his family." No way would Alex let their daughter fight, she was just a child. As for Paige's biological father Samuel Wilder, he was in Scotland.
"If only there was a another way." Phoebe sighed. Hearing a roar of a Impala, all three turn around.
"What a lovely wagon." Melinda was staring at the car in approval. "Those men, are they your friends? They are so handsome." She says dreamily. The men of the future had all their teeth.
"Yeah they are. The tall man there, that's Piper's husband."
Sam and Dean drove as fast as they could, deliberately ignoring any monsters that were on the road. When they saw three monsters, they put up their guns.
"Sam! Dean! It's us!" Phoebe calls out. Unfortunately, with Melinda's spell, her voice growled.
"Our job is never done, eh Sam?" Dean was pointing his gun at the one in the middle. "Didn't we see this movie?" That old silent movie from the 20s. Dean and Jenna held each other, terrified for the protagonists. "Whoever they are, we can shoot their kneecaps, plus cut off their heads."
"Sounds good to me." Sam needed to be close to his wife, these vampires looked weak anyways. He held up his gun.
"Ah, Pheebs? I don't think they know it's us." Their fingers were pressed against the trigger.
"Get us outta here." All three hold hands.
The bullets miss just as they vanish in thin air.
Dean swore.
"Hmph. Just what we need, magical monsters. Where to Sammy?"
"They didn't seem like regular vamps." Sam muttered. That magic, it looked like whitelighter orbs.
"Sam!"
"Huh? Oh. Sorry." Sam tucks his gun away. "Let's get our machetes out of the trunk." Sam felt the air, he felt himself getting weaker, magically. "I see the line. Dean. Be careful. You'll be vulnerable yourself." Magic wasn't the only thing getting affected.
"I'll stay away from barns and rusty nails then." Once they get to their trunk, they walk to the edge of the woods. "Is Sis on the other side?"
"Probably. I just hope we're not too late." Piper would kill him if he missed their baby's birth. "Let's go." Sky was starting to get dark.
William was wiping Piper's face. She was starting to breathe harder, it wouldn't be long now.
"Arrgghhh!" She gripped her belly. "Is there any epidural?!" She felt like she was about to explode. "Hmmmmm!"
"Keep breathing." Will was only in college. He wasn't close to med school yet. He got up to look out the window, when Piper grabbed his arm.
"Don't leave me." She growled. "Ahh!"
"Just for a second. When he saw a demon, he swore.
"What is it?" Piper moaned.
"Nothing. Just a loon." He didn't want to tell her that he saw the Darklighter Rennek standing outside. He knew the moment he steps outside he was vulnerable to Rennek's arrow. But he also knew he couldn't leave Piper by herself. 'Hurry.' The hunters had to hurry. The witches needed to be somewhere else.
"Is it just me, or does it seem to get darker?" It was barely dusk, but the sky looked like the sun set. Dean looked at his phone.
NO SIGNAL
"Wonderful." Seven pm, but it looked like darkness was about to begin. Hearing growls, both men pick up their weapons. "You ready?"
"As I ever will be." This will be tough. No magic, no high tech gadgets. "Back to back Dean. Stay close." Both were blinded, but that one summer with John and his hunter friends. "Use your instincts, rely on them more than your eyes." They knew a hunter that hunted blind. He always said that monsters use their other senses, which humans forgot to do. He claimed the ancient humans were stronger back then, the world was a lot rougher back in the old days. "Hurh!"
"Where are we going?" All three were following the monster crowd. Phoebe was curious when the crowd of monsters stopped patrolling and suddenly started walking in a straight line.
"Not so loud." Paige whispered back.
"I don't think they are paying attention." Melinda whispered back. Everyone was walking in a trance. "I think I know where they are going." The Gateway to the Temple, Melinda recognized the aura. "Be careful, this may be a trap."
All three follow the monster crowd, curious to see how they could survive going through the Gates of Heaven. When they got there, Phoebe squeezes Paige's hand.
"Your bounds will be gone." The magic to suppress Paige's whitelighter side will be completely vanquished.
"I'll deal with Michael myself." Just before they cross over, Paige asked Melinda if any will survive going through the Gate. Castiel always said it wasn't suitable to humans.
"You are Charmed. Have faith." All three close their eyes at the bright light.
"Sammy!" Dean cuts off the vampire's head before it had the chance to bite Dean. Unfortunately, three more grab Sam, making him completely helpless.
"DEAN!" That was Sam's last word before the vampire bites off a huge chunk of his neck. Dean watched in horror as Sam bled out, his artery gushing red. As much as he wanted to save his brother, Sam made him promise to protect his family.
'Make me a promise Dean.' As they walk through the woods earlier.
'We're going out together. All four of us.' Sam, Piper, Dean and the new baby. 'Don't talk like that.'
'But if the worst happens, take good care of her. Make sure Laura meets her cousin. Promise me Dean. Please.' Sam refused to move forward till Dean agreed.
'Okay Sammy'
Dean took no time slaughtering every vampire, he was filled with rage. But as tempting as it was to follow the vampires that took Sam's body away, he had two others to save.
''I'll find a way to bring you back.'' Wouldn't be the first time Sam died. 'Sis will kill me if I don't.' Dean forced his emotions down. Piper needed him.
Dean rubbed dead vampire blood all over his clothes. Wasn't the best disguise, but it was better than nothing. The surrounding monsters will think he was one of them. He continued on.
"Wait." Just before they cross over, Phoebe stops in her tracks.
"Why?" They were the last ones left, every monster crossed the Gate. All three were on the edge of the Doorway.
"We can't go in there blind." None will have no idea what was on the other side.
"She's right. There will be no one there. I heard whispers that the Temple is empty." Melinda tells them. Even in Heaven, people talk.
"But can Neena open the Gate?" Paige asked.
"Plus Piper." Melinda looks at Phoebe. "What's the plan?"
"Uhhh." Why was she the one put in charge? "We'll be alone up there. I doubt the angels will help us, they didn't care what the Elders did." It will be just the three of them, vs every super monster.
"She may be expecting us.''
"Plus Piper."
"Piper is safe." Phoebe didn't know why, she just knew. "Sam and Dean will be there." She looked at the entrance. It was just a ordinary pile of stones and sticks, anyone would have completely missed it. "I have a idea. But I'll need your help."
Neena was smiling at her monster horde. She didn't care about the vampires, out of all the monsters, they were the most needy and hungry. The werewolves were better, they could go for days without eating. The mutant monsters Rennek brought over were the perfect slaves. Obedient, brain dead, and had the hunter instinct. He did say he brought them over from some lab, she didn't care where.
"Is everything in position?"
"Yes my Queen."
"Good." Neena looked at the crowd. "Never again will we hide! You are hated just for existing!" She points her finger in general directions. "Monsters! Witches! Mutants! Anything humans call unnatural, we are hunted! Hated! Always hiding! Always starving! Michael may have transformed you, but are still slaves! Angels and demons are no different, they'll do the same thing! I seen it! But today it ends. Our freedom." She smiled as the monsters growled. "Rennek! Take the masks off."
'Crap.' Paige and Melinda didn't have time to react before they were grabbed by Rennek.
"Nice. Bringing in your ancestor. Good job with the glamouring spell. Too bad I know every trick!" She uses her magic to put them both in magical chains. She looks around. "I don't see Phoebe. Where is she?"
"Far, far away from here." Paige taunts.
"Really." She throws them against two pillars, using the same chains to tie them together. "You don't think I saw this coming?" She laughs. She orbs over a tied up man.
"Coop." Phoebe's ex boyfriend. Shit. He was thankfully unconscious.
She gestures to Rennek to point his weapon at the man.
"He is an innocent yes?" She smiles as Rennek aims at his heart. "You save innocents. Tell Phoebe to come over or he dies. Including this one." A monster brings in a young man. "He was watching over Piper. He agreed to come if I kept Piper safe. Surrender now, or Piper dies on my orders."
"Fine. Phoebe!" Sure enough Phoebe warps in. Seeing Coop, her shoulders sag.
"Coop." He looked so helpless. She stared hatefully at Neena. "Why are you doing this? Your husband is walking free in the world! You can be together!" So much for her plan for trapping Neena.
"For now." Neena started pacing. "You have no idea what it was like being alone all these eons. The pain I felt when my love was taken away from me. Then the emptiness. But it was seeing my children as whims for the Elders. Slaves to their orders." She looked at Melinda. "You could have took your daughter and ran! Instead you burned!"
"I didn't have a choice! My daughter needed to be kept safe!" She looked in Neena's eyes. "You agreed to be locked away to keep your children safe! Your husband included! If you stayed together, we all would have died!"
"Are you sure? Or is that what they wanted you to think? Your angelic friend, he's an obedient angel. Always doing what he was told. My love and I would have happy being mortal, we could have lived quietly on Earth till we died. But noooo. The Elders were lied to. You see, we are merely pawns in a story. The Angels of Destiny, they had their orders! They read their scrolls and follow the script! No more." She points at Paige. "Your parents, your loves. They all died to make you who you are." When she looked at Phoebe, she shook her head. "Today is the chance to take control. What you been searching for, your heart will tell you your answer."
She looked at Coop. But her heart belonged elsewhere. She watched as Paige was forced to open the doors. When Paige was sent through a portal after being forced to open the Gate, she closed her eyes. Neena may be powerful, but she underestimated the bound of sisterhood. She looked at the blonde man in the white outfit.
"Whitelighter?" Where did she see him before?
"Name's William."
"Phoebe. This is Melinda."
"Hi."
"Good day."
"Can you escape?"
"Easily." He orbed out of the chains. "She forgot whitelighters are naturally repowered up here."
"You fell?"
"Long story." He looked at Rennek who was standing with Neena in the Temple. "Can you fight?" The monsters were standing around, but it won't be long before they get out of their trance.
"We have an innocent here, plus we can't fight with just us three."
"Four." Coop groans. "I was awake. I just couldn't speak or move.'' He looked up. "So this is Heaven. It's nice."
"Can you walk?" William asked.
"I think so." He thanked William after he freed everyone. "Long time no see."
"I'll explain later." She hands Coop a potion. "Its potion made with Holy Bombs. Throw it, and any evil will die."
"Sounds good to me." Hearing a rumble, all four started shaking when the Temple shook.
"Good lord." Bobby was looking at the storm clouds coming in. Thunder, rain, powerful winds. Sky was calm a minute ago. He kicked a monster away before blowing its head off.
"Quit gawking and start shooting!" Rufus scolded.
"Yeah. Yeah." Idjits better hurry. He felt rumbles as well. He shot at a rabid wolf.
"Paige?" Piper was sweating. Dean was tidying up the room. "Where's Sam? Where's Phoebe? Argh!"
Seeing Dean shaking his head, Paige clamps her mouth shut.
"She ran into town to get supplies." She lied. She runs up to Dean. "How much time do we have?"
"Soon. Her water is about to break." Dean knew Sam won't be happy, but Dean had no choice but to examine her. "Won't be long now." He puts down Piper's bag of medical supplies. "I tried calling a doctor, but the phones have no signal."
"A paramedic is better than nothing." She wanted to ask where Sam was, but seeing blood on Dean's clothes, she wondered what happened. Instead she holds Piper's hand. "Change your clothes, and clean up. I'll watch Piper."
"I'm not a baby." She screamed feeling a contraction. "Oh god!"
'Hurry Phoebe.' She had no idea why Neena let her go, but at the moment didn't care. Piper needed her at the moment. "You need anything?"
"Just knock me out! Argh!" The pain was overwhelming. "Sam better get his ass in here soon! I'm not having this baby by myself!" She groaned feeling a cramp. "Mom!"
Melinda had no choice but to fight. Luckily she had all her powers.
The monster screamed as it blew up. She saw Phoebe charging with her dead relatives, she and Melinda used the chaos to open the gates to the back door to Heaven. Phoebe's ex-boyfriend Coop was fighting as well, he was wearing a ring that whitelighter gave him from the vault.
"William!" Phoebe saw the two Sphaeras of Light and Dark merge. Apart, they are harmless. Together they are dangerous. She flipped a monster that grabbed her and snapped off it's claw. She then killed it before it could scream by throwing a potion at it.
William was dodging Rennek's blows. He thankfully had no deadly arrows, but he was using his darklighter bow loaded with dark arrows.
"Mom!" Patty Halliwell called.
"I know dear!" Bounding Neena's powers won't be enough, a witch that powerful needed to be stripped completely. But they needed a witch. "Who would be the carrier?" Neena's powers merged the Spheres, and only her magic could take it away.
"Not my daughters Mom!" Patty tells Penny.
The sky started to turn black. The Key was opening the portal to the Higher Realm.
"We cannot let that open!" If the Door opens, magic will spill everywhere. Humans will become fused with magic, and will destroy one another. "Whoever you are, close the Gate!" Prudence screamed.
Melinda saw a shadow walking through the mist. Immediately she knew who that was.
"You! Phoebe! Call your sisters!"
Phoebe closed her eyes. Concentrating hard, she called her sisters.
'Paige. Piper. Can you hear me?'
"Phoebe? Oh thank god." Paige was worried about her.
"Phoebe? The hell are you? Tell Sam to get his ass down here!" Piper snapped. Her contractions were getting stronger.
'In due time. Listen. Chant this with me. Don't ask.'
"Paige?" Piper looked suspiciously at her and Dean. "What are you two not telling me?"
Dean shrugged.
"We under attack. Worry about that later! Just follow her lead!" Paige tells her. "Close your eyes and concentrate!"
"Ready everyone?!" Phoebe screams. "Prue! Wherever you are, we need you too!" She, Melinda, Patty, Penny, Prudence, and countless Warren Women join hands.
On Earth, Piper and Paige hold hands.
"Earthly Goddess Twisted By Loss
We Take Your Magic, Take Your Strength
Taketh Your Power
Now and Forever.''
"NOOOOO!" Neena screams. She felt her magic draining out of her, her magic onto another witch.
Rowena groaned as she absorbed the magic.
"Arghhhhh." This power. It was nothing she ever felt. She felt like she was on fire.
"Hurry!" The Door was about to open. Immediately, every Warren Witch and Rowena use their magic to weaken the Key.
"WILLIAM!" Phoebe screamed. As a whitelighter, he was the only one to carry that weapon safely.
William picked up the Empyreal Sword he found in the Vault. He was glad not to have wings. Once the Sphere was weakened, he asked Coop to use the ring to make it crack.
"Ah. I call upon this ring to...make this circle..sting? Sorry." Seeing Phoebe's expression. He was startled when the ring glowed. Once he saw time slow down, he saw William holding up the sword.
William took no time to split the Sphere in half. Everyone was then enveloped in a bright white light.
"Her contractions are a minute apart." Piper's water broke a while back ago. "She can't wait any longer." Dean never delivered a baby before, this would be his first time. "Paige, keep Sis calm." Dean decided to hold the news about Sam till after. When he saw who walked in the door, he and Paige looked surprised.
"The HELL were you!" Piper screamed. "Your baby is coming!"
"Sorry." Sam apologized. He, and Phoebe rush to Piper's side. William stood by the doorway, he was holding a angel blade.
Piper started screaming.
"Keep her calm. Breathe." Dean instructed. "Let's see. Oh boy. I see a head."
Sam was holding on to Piper who was screaming in pain.
"Blonde guy!" Dean had no idea who he was. "Get some warm towels! Paige! Clean her forehead!"
"What about me?" Phoebe asked.
"Help me. Pass me some instruments." Dean looked up at Sam, he had a lot of questions. "Keep her breathing. Okay. Get ready to push." He instructed.
"I can't!" Piper screamed. "Ow! It hurts! It really hurts!" She felt like she was getting burned alive. "OW!"
"You can do this." Sam soothed. "I'm not going anywhere." He was holding on to his wife. He was bloody and dirty, but at the moment didn't care.
William rushes in with the towels Dean left in the oven. Paige was dabbing her forehead.
"Push!" Dean ordered.
"I can't!" Piper screamed. "OW!" She was kicking herself not having a C-Section like Jenna. "The hell!" She screamed.
"I see a shoulder! Wait! Here is the other one! Phoebe! Pass me some clamps! Push!"
Piper screamed. Feeling a long torso, she asked how big this baby was.
"I can't." She whimpered. No way can she finish.
"C'mon! Just one more! Give me a push! A big one!" Phoebe encouraged. She watches at Piper pushes the baby out.
"I got it!" Dean catches the baby as soon as it came out. "Hand me that." He asked Phoebe. "Thanks." He watches as Phoebe cuts the cord.
Hearing a newborn crying, Piper tears up. Both were curious about what they had. Dean hands the baby to Phoebe to clean up.
"Is that?" Paige was smiling.
"Congrats Sam. You're a dad."
Both parents were overjoyed. When Phoebe handed their daughter to Piper, Piper started cooing at the baby.
"Hiiii. How are you?" She smiled joyfully at Sam who was overwhelmed. "I'll let you hold Melinda, but you need a shower."
"Melinda?" Both Paige and Phoebe say.
"We decided to honour your ancestor." Sam and Piper decided to break the family tradition about using a P for the baby's name.
"And if was a boy, we were going to call him Warren. You know, since Dean claimed the Winchester name." Piper handed the baby to Paige to hold for the afterbirth. Once Piper was done, she demanded a explanation.
"Long story." Neither sister was looking forward to explaining what happened.
"Sam? How was the hunt?" Dean was going to kick Sam's ass for making a Deal.
"I need a shower first." Sam was dying to hold his baby.
"How about you get some rest. You need a hospital." Paige suggested. "We'll tell you everything."
Before Sam left and cleaned up, Dean pulled him inside and demanded an explanation.
"I didn't make a Deal. I. I don't know."
Sam was back in...Something.
'You're back.'
"I died." Where was he? The Voice must have read his mind, It answered his question.
'You're not on Earth. Not in Heaven. Not in Hell. Not The Empty.'
"Then Where am I?"
'I heard your prayers. You are One with Me.'
"Huh?"
'You did good My son. As a reward, I'm sending you back.'
"But I don't want to leave."
'Just pray, unlike Lucifer, I won't trick you.'
Sam woke up in the woods. When he looked around, the monsters were gone. He didn't return to the highway, instead he headed west.
"And you woke up. That's it." Dean heard of what happened upstairs. "Did you see that Neena chick?"
"Like I said. I woke up." For some reason Sam didn't want to tell Dean where he was. Selfishly, Sam wanted that experience for himself. He pushed the longing down, It wasn't his place.
"Whatever Sam. Paige is taking you both home."
"What about Phoebe and William?" The guy told them his name. As for Coop, Dean already agreed to give him a lift.
"William is going home, Phoebe wants to stick around to say goodbye. She wants to catch a ride after."
Phoebe was crying as she holds her mom and grandma.
"I don't want to leave. I missed you so much!" She hugs them both.
"I know dear. But we'll see each other again." Patty hated seeing her daughter cry. "Where's Prue?" She knew Piper and Paige were on Earth.
"Knowing her, catching up with Andy." She tells both Andy was back from the dead, acting as Prue's bodyguard.
"He must have friends in high places." Penny always liked that kid. He and Prue were best friends growing up.
Melinda was waiting for Phoebe, she and Prudence already said their goodbyes. Since she "came back," Prudence told her to live her life. But as a mortal. Melinda's active powers were stripped now.
"Tell Piper to take care of my grandchild." Patty wished she could hold them.
"If only I could return to perform the Warren Wiccaning." It was a family tradition. Patty gave all four the blessing, even Paige before she got adopted. She looked over at Coop. "How are you going to explain this to your beau?" He was staring at his ring. "That ring, he has a new responsibility now." Cupid's Ring. A fail safe if Heaven fell during The First War.
"I'll explain it to Coop. And NO, we are on a break." She blushed looking at his direction.
"He's cute." Patty saw him glancing back at Phoebe. "You know he has a new job now."
"Like I said, I'll explain." She waved shyly at Coop. She looked around. "Where's Neena?"
"Why am I here instead of Hell." Neena figured she was getting punished for all eternity. Instead she found herself in her prison. "Am I dead? Finally?"
The two remaining Angels stare at one another.
"We took pity on you. You're not dead and never will be." The male Angel tells Neena.
"You killed our Sister." One of the Three Fates was dead. "But we figured why. We apologize." Both bow to Neena.
"Than what do you want with me?" She was now mortal, kind of.
"Just this." Neena, when she saw her mate, she turned away in shame. He was on Earth, and never seeked him out. "We needed him to scout. Our findings, they are worse than we thought." Angel Two was shaking her braids. "We can only offer a compromise. For half a year, you two can be together. But he needs to go back for the remaining half to retain the balance."
"And The War? Will we be okay?" She and her mate were holding one another.
"For now. But when the War starts, we need him." They both vanish in yellow sparkles.
"Its been forever. Let's make up for lost time." She pulls his head down.
Phoebe waves goodbye as everyone fades away.
She found herself standing on a porch. Hearing Piper screaming, she runs in.
"So everyone went home?" Dean was driving her back to San Francisco. Melinda declined to come, she wanted to live in the cabin Piper gave birth in. Melinda liked how private it was. William was going to teach her about the future before he went home to wherever he came from. She was flattered when she found out Piper's baby was named after her.
"Yep."
"What about the angel dicks." That was their jurisdiction.
"Not Naomi's problem." The Fates were watching over the place. "According to Grams, Fates are nothing more than glorified secretaries."
"And you?" Dean was looking back at Coop.
"A cupid agent." Coop knew Phoebe was a witch, but this was weird. "I never played matchmaker in my life."
"At least you're a adult." She read the comics. Cupids came from dead babies.
"Huh?"
"Long story. Dean, we need to make a stop." Phoebe needed to pee.
"Might as well, I have to drop off Cas and his new patients." Dean was dropping off all three at the bus station. "Where are all the monsters?" The road was clean. Dean saw no bodies.
"Mom and Grams cleaned up. It was like nothing happened." Except for the missing people. Hopefully the government never pried.
Sam was holding baby Melinda.
"She's so tiny." Those eyes. "What?" When Piper scoffed.
"If you call ten pounds, seven ounces, small." Those legs. "I bought her a soccer ball." Piper couldn't wait to see her play when she got older.
"You want another one?" He teased.
"Only if you carry it."
It was nice to have her powers back, Paige was a whitelighter again. But she had to lay low. She just prayed Michael left her alone.
Firefighters were combing through the building. The earthquake, it flattened this place. There was no saving it.
Chris was watching the fires, he and Bianca were too late.
