"Damn." Chris knew the earthquake didn't do this. "We're too late." The US Army managed to take advantage of the sisters being away and destroyed Sacred Meadows.
Bianca wasn't religious, but she crossed her chest for all the dead bodies.
"He is more ruthless than I remembered." That hunter, he used his status in the army to do evil.
"Nothing we can do." Was that... "Let's get outta here." Both were glad Claire was away. In the original timeline, she came here to visit, and became severely disfigured. She became a alcoholic and couldn't defend herself when she and Jody got caught off guard hunting a nest of vampires. She was killed instantly, and Jody never got over her death. She ended up being killed while on a hunt. Bianca was determined to keep Jody alive, she was needed to fight. "Good thing we sent her that fake message."
While the Charmed Ones were fighting in Heaven, weird weather was down on Earth thanks to Neena. 'Sam' sent Claire a text that there was a nest of shifters in Arizona that were terrorizing a small town. Claire was in San Francisco scouting for colleges, she wanted to take a break from hunting for awhile, when Sam sent her that text. Claire didn't hesitate, she abandoned her search and headed to Arizona instead.
As far as Chris and Bianca knows, neither had any idea if anyone knew about the destruction that happened here.
"Now what?" They had to leave, they needed to head east.
"We do our job." Chris was dying to stay in town, someone he hadn't seen in a long time was coming home.
Stockville, Lancaster
Two high school seniors talk about the upcoming weekend.
"There's a rumour. Helena Seown." Scott smirked.
"I don't know what you are talking about." Williams refused to answer his question. They came here early, they liked to watch the girl's swim team on Tuesdays.
"You can tell me." Helena was the hottest girl in school. "You know I can keep a secret."
"Yeah? Ten minutes it will be all over Bite." Naming a popular social app.
Scott was going to press for details when they heard a noise.
"You hear that?" Rumble. "It's coming from the showers."
"Maybe it's leftovers from that freak storm we had recently." Williams was glad for the distraction.
Rattle.
"Should we get the janitor?" Scott was weirded out by the noise.
"Probably nothing. Let's take a quick shower before practice."
Twenty minutes pass when the rest of the members of the swim team walk in.
"Not bad, but I got a few extra points." A guy brags to his fellow classmate.
"Only because I was feeling generous today."
"It's not enough, we have our first tournament next week." The captain tells them. Seeing both Scott and Williams walking out of the showers he asked why did they miss practice.
"Where were you two! You missed practice!" Archie needed all the practice he could get, he had to impress any university scouts that might come.
"We did? Whoops." Scott was giving him a hungry smile. "Guess we forgot."
"Thinking about Sonya?" Evans said with sympathy. Everyone in school knew about their breakup. Poor Scott was down in the dumps for weeks.
"Not anymore." He and Williams exchange looks.
"You guys hear any weird noises in the shower? It sounded like it was shaking." Williams gestures to Scott to lock the door.
"Hey man, you're going to get in trouble." Manny says while opening up his locker to change. When Williams came closer, he didn't think much of it. Then when he got grabbed, he asked the hell is his problem?
"Yo man. What's your deal?"
"It's close to supper isn't it?"
Archie looks up to see Scott on top of the lockers.
"What are you doing? Coach will give you detention!"
"We're too hungry to care." Scott jumps on the biggest swim team member. "Dinner time."
Everyone was too far away to hear the screams coming from the men's locker room.
Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Jody was listening politely to her roommate going about government conspiracies and how incompetent doctors were.
"She went in the hospital for a minor procedure, something that could have been done in a day. Instead she was sent back, scissor clamps, a sponge, they were all inside her!" Alice shuddered. "If that wasn't enough, her hospital bill was ten times what it should be!" She shook her head. "She was lucky. I gave her names for various lawyers." She looked at Jody with a serious look. "These hospitals they use patients as guinea pigs. If you don't get out, they use your body for something more, but if you live, they screw up on purpose to make you come back." She looked out at the hallway and lowered her voice. "They tack up our hospital bill to fund their projects." She nods her head. "Of course when I tell people, everyone brushes me off as a crazy old lady."
Before Jody could answer, they were interrupted by a handsome doctor. Jody's roommate immediately perks up.
"Dr Gaines!" Alice quickly sits up straight. "I didn't expect to see you so soon." Dr Gaines was the newest doctor at Sioux Falls General.
"How are you ladies feeling today." He says picking up Jody's chart.
"I'm fine. Just a bit tired." Jody was recovering from a burst appendix. Luckily she avoided getting septic shock.
"Oh, I'm fine." Alice was petting her hair. "Jody here, she's been a fine roommate." She was going in for gallbladder surgery the next day.
"I'm sure she is." Dr Gaines looks over Jody's chart. "You gave us quite the scare. Luckily the burst appendix didn't cause a infection."
"I'm grateful for that." Jody was on a hunt when she felt the pain. She brushed it off, thinking she was just having a cramp. Next thing she knew, Alex was driving her to the ER, crying to the nurses that Jody's appendix burst. She was so glad her daughter was a nurse.
"Well you need to stay for a couple of days. We need to keep you under observation." He puts back her chart. "We're going to give you some fun painkillers to help you sleep."
"Sounds good to me." Jody needed a nap.
"I'll be checking on you later."
"Bye!" Alice waves as he leaves the room.
"I never trusted doctors. Especially handsome ones. I mean how do we know they charmed themselves all through med school?"
Jody hoped the nurse came soon with the painkillers.
"Chris?" Bianca was giving him a odd look.
"Huh? Oh I'm fine." Today was his anniversary.
FLASHBACK
BOOM!
"God I hate those sons of bitches." The leviathans, they knew nothing but hunger. "Hopefully that explosion took them out." They made a homemade bomb, it was filled with silver blades, iron nails and sodium borate (borax).
"If not, we got sharp blades." DJ bragged. "Anne!"
"Yeah?" She hated getting bossed around, especially by DJ, but she was the only one that knew how to spot a chomper.
"Go see Mel, she needs a hand."
"Whatever. C'mon Chris." She gestures for Chris to follow her.
They walk through the ruins of the city, it was a hard fight to take it back from the enemy.
"So, how did you get mixed up in this?" Chris nods at a demon, who nods at him back. "You should be in school."
Anne snorted.
"What's the point?" Anne was keeping an eye out, never know who try anything. "My teacher was eaten alive." She hated remembering that, luckily the leviathan told the frightened students that he hated veal. "Besides, at my age, I'm supposed to join the resistance." She was barely a teen. Spotting a feral werewolf, she shoots it in the heart.
"Education is still important." Chris spent his spare time reading anything he could get his hands on. Math, history, English, the bible, he didn't want to lose his intelligence.
"Yeah, yeah." Anne knew it was, she herself taught young kids.
"Where are we heading anyway?" Chris was holding a machete, it was easier to weaken a chomper.
"See a friend of mine. Do yourself a favor, don't piss her off.''
Both walk to a abandoned building, which was heavily armed with spells and traps. Looking up, Chris could see a sniper keeping a eye out.
"Watch your step, Mel put down a shit load of traps. One wrong move, you'll lose a limb."
"Can't say I blame him." Walking closer, Chris recognized the building. This was a supply warehouse where food was being kept. It was heavily guarded, men and women were standing around with guns.
Once they got closer, they were stopped by a blonde man.
"Halt!"
"Hey man, it just us." Neverless, Anne put up her arms, and spread her legs. "Will, you know it's me."
"Then this won't hurt."
Chris and Anne sputter as they wipe the holy water and chemicals off their faces.
"I hate borax!" Anne uses her bandana to wipe her face. "Yuck, now I smell like a laundromat."
Chris was glad to have alcohol wipes, he used that to clean up his wound.
"Can't be too careful." William puts away his silver blade. "You know it's not time for grocery shopping." This building was one of the few that still provided canned food. It wasn't guarded to keep the enemy out, but to keep the desperate from coming in. Humans today suffered from starvation. Will hated turning away people, but food had to be carefully rationed. "You still have a week."
"I know." Anne tried desperately to ignore the hunger pangs, but she needed to save her apple for later. "We need to see Mel."
"Mel huh? Guess your heading west." Will knew California was dangerous. Only the highest trained soldiers were sent there to reconnaissance for the enemy's secrets. Both Los Angeles and San Francisco were overrun by the Old Ones. "Come on in."
"Watch where you step." Anne warned once they got inside.
"More booby traps?"
"Used condoms." Anne laughed at Chris's green face. "Castiel keeps forgetting to clean up after himself. Angels."
Chris looked down and saw mattresses strewn about. No one blinked an eye whenever people made love, or have NSFW fun, the only rule was safe sex was mandatory.
"Angels were once revered and worshipped. How far they fallen." Even demons were more respected. "Anyways, what are we here for again?'
Anne shrugged. She led him down a hallway till they got to a door.
Knock Knock
"It's open."
A pretty brunette wearing a identical bandana, but in blue nods to the two fighters.
"Bianca, good to see you." She looks at Chris. "How's it going?"
"Melinda? You're in charge?" Before things went to hell, both knew each other from college. "Isn't it dangerous?" There was a high bounty on witches, the enemy offered a high fortune for Melinda's capture.
"It's only dangerous if the enemy wins." Melinda gets up and stretches. "I brought you both for a reason."
"To get that." When Melinda nodded, Bianca sighed. "That's suicide."
"I know it is. But I can't trust anyone else. Otherwise I'll send a team with you." She would have gotten it herself, but she needed to be here. "It would be just you two."
"Just us?"
"It has to be kept top secret. Otherwise I'll send a whitelighter." What they needed was the Book of Shadows, but when Zankou infiltrated the Manor, the Book vanished, leaving the sisters vulnerable. "I can't afford to lose the witches I have, and everyone else can't be trusted." In these times, no one could.
"What about Will? He knows the ins and out of San Francisco. As a whitelighter, he could sneak anywhere. Even the Underworld." Will was Chris' best friend.
Melinda shook her head.
"Like I said, if I could I would." Whitelighters weren't as powerful as they used to be. Ever since Heaven fell, only a small smidgen of holy grace was left behind. Angels were basically human now, they were helping the Resistance. The few whitelighters on Earth, they were needed to act as medics. "Makayla will meet you outside the city limits, she will give you a few first aid kits."
"A few kits? Better than nothing I guess." Bianca takes out her apple and eats it. "We need food."
"Done." Melinda hands them two small pouches. "I'm sorry, but we're getting low." There was a few beef sticks, granola bars, and bottle water. Food was getting scarce. "I'm sending DJ and the others to hunt and gather."
"And the farms?" This compound wasn't the only thing getting watched over, farms, greenhouses, and orchards were as well. The enemy destroyed those to keep humans weak and compliant. As for the animals, wild and domestic, monsters and humans worked together to keep their numbers balanced.
"Being watched over." Melinda sighed. "I have bad news."
Bianca teared up. She knew before she finished her sentence.
"Aunt Paige, she fought till the end." Poor Paige hung on as long as she could, but the tumour eventually took her. "The funeral is tomorrow."
Paige was the last leader, as well as the final Charmed One. Piper, Phoebe, they died years ago.
"Mel are you alright?" She was strong, but Chris could see her pain.
"I'll be okay." She sighed. "Anne, you mind double checking on the vehicles outside?"
"Sure." Bianca knew when Mel needed to be alone. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do!" She teased.
Melinda smiles when the door slammed.
"Kids." She didn't protest when Chris walked up to her and starts kissing her.
"God Mel, I missed you so much." Chris was staring in her eyes.
"Me too." Melinda wrapped her arms around his neck. "Come here." She throws Chris on the desk and rips off his shirt.
Both were getting dressed twenty minutes later when the door started pounding.
"Chris! The jeep is filled up! Let's move it!"
"You better go." Melinda says reluctantly. She smiles weakly at her fiance. "You know how impatient she gets."
"I know." Chris hated leaving her behind. "When we get back, I want to see you with that long white dress." There was no churches, no one believed in God anymore. Most were disillusioned about religion. But most couples loved the old traditions of the past, like weddings.
"If I can find one that doesn't make me look like a stretched sequoia." Melinda was a inch taller than Chris, she was the tallest woman in the compound. She was very self conscious about her long legs. She uses her magic to make the plant on her desk grow fresh strawberries. "Come back to me, safe and sound."
Present Day
Chris was looking at FaceTime.
"She looks so tiny." Baby Melinda was Phoebe's profile picture. "I forgot how much Phoebe spoiled her." She was only a baby, but heard countless stories from Paige, how Phoebe spoiled her niece rotten. Bianca places her hand on Chris' shoulder. "She is loved. She won't be alone."
"I know." Chris stared sadly at her. He loved her future self unconditionally, but knew their relationship will never be again. "As long as we save the future, then I know she'll be okay." He resisted kissing the screen, instead touching her picture with his hand in a silent goodbye. He closed his eyes. He looked up when Bianca coughed.
"We have a case." She said uncomfortably. She knew of their great romance well, true love was hard to get in the future. "A couple of kids were found eaten alive."
"No sense bothering Sam and Dean. They need to be somewhere else anyways." He closes the screen. "How long to...Where are we going again?"
Sioux Falls, South Dakota
A little girl swings slowly, trying to figure out what to do in this world. Seeing a man walk up, she continues swinging.
"The Mother is dead."
"So?"
"We been waiting a long time."
The "girl" looks up.
"The Prison is cracking."
"Won't be long now."
"Edgar" sits silently beside the girl creature.
"You need a new body."
"Don't worry, there is plenty to choose from." It looks around the playground. "Maybe I should look somewhere else."
"The school, keep them in line." The Creature that was disguised as Edgar read the articles. "Our kind must get ready. We already lost a few."
"The hunters on Earth are suspicious as it is." Their kind were on Earth for a few years now, but a few were wiped out by hunters.
"The time travellers, kill them." Edgar ordered.
"Yes sir."
Dr Gaines was looking at his chart. He didn't mind Sioux Falls, it was a nice change of the hustle and bustle of New York. Some routine surgeries, nothing serious. He closes his chart to have a cup of coffee when he heard humming from a exam room. When he saw a small silhouette from behind a exam curtain he goes to check it out.
"Can I help you?" He was startled to see a little girl on the exam table. "Where are your parents?" When she looked up, Dr Gaines steps back in uneasiness. Her eyes, they were full of hunger.
"You can have access to everything. A doctor can cut people and no one will question it." She grabs him arm, cracking his bones. Ignoring his gasps of pain, she gives him a cold smile. "I am trading up."
Dr Gaines screams are silenced as his twin rips out his tongue.
Stockton, Kansas
Bianca saw this kind of carnage before, but she always grimaced at the sight. After she and Chris finished showing off their badges, they go inside the sealed locker room.
"Nasty." She fought tons of monsters, but the leviathans were one of the worst she ever seen. She was glad the bodies were gone, she didn't want to see the chewing marks on the skeletons.
"Agent Blevins, this is my partner, Agent Nygaard." Chris and Bianca tells the detective. "Mind telling me what happened here?"
"You tell me." The detective in charge was one of the first ones on scene. "I seen my share of cases, but this was bad." When he first came here on the scene, the thirty year veteran was sickened by the sight. "My guess is a wild animal that broke in here. But what animal locks the door?" He shakes his head. "If the FBI can figure it out, let me know."
Chris saw the black goo and shuddered. He was not looking forward to his next task.
Bianca sighed.
"Our job is never easy." The witches needed all the help they can get. "Any ideas?" The blood of the leviathans were a useful ingredient for deadly potions.
"We only need one." Chris had his machete ready to go.
"And Jody?" She was alone at the hospital.
"We have to do our task first." Based on the blood and goo spatters, one leviathan was injured. "I already sent Singer and Turner."
"Let's go then."
Jody was startled awake when she saw Dr Gaines taking her roommate away. At first she didn't much of it, but when she overheard him calling himself "Dr Sexy" she immediately gets suspicious.
She slowly and painfully gets up. But before she could get out of bed, she overheard her nightstand buzzing. She opened her drawer and picks up her phone.
Twenty missed calls? Jody only put on her phone on silent to not disturb her roommate. Hopefully Alex and MaKayla were alright. She turned on her mail.
"Jody! It's Bobby! I'm coming to get you, I don't know why your phone is off, but get dressed and get out of there! Meet me somewhere safe! Don't go to your house! Don't ask me why! I'll explain later!"
"Good enough for me." She knew Bobby well, his instincts were never wrong. She was about to leave, then remembering her roommate, she groans. "Dammit."
A few minutes later, she slowly and painfully walks down the hall. She didn't know where Dr Gaines/Dr Sexy took his patient, but she was determined to find out why he decided to perform surgery at ten o'clock at night. Walking down the deserted hallway, she searches for anything unusual.
'If I was a psycho doctor, where would I take a patient.' Jody looks around the hallways. Seeing a dark window, she walks towards it.
CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS
Jody wasn't sure to be glad or not. She knew how foolish it was going in alone, no weapons, no backup. Especially when she was weak and practically naked. Swallowing her fear, she goes inside.
Jody's heart was beating fast. She didn't know what to expect, she didn't even know where to begin. Seeing a light, she goes forward and once she reaches the door, she peeks inside the window.
Her roommate was either unconscious or dead. But when Jody saw "Dr Gaines" taking out her liver and eating it, she gasps backwards in horror. No wonder Bobby kept calling her. She had to get out of there. Grabbing her iv bag, she walks painfully and quickly down the hallway. She had to get out of there.
A nurse doing her rounds was startled to see Jody walking around carrying her iv bag in her hands.
"Ms Mills? What are you doing out of bed?"
Jody, overwhelmed and tired from her adventure, faints.
Jody woke up with a worried nurse checking over her.
"Ms Mills, what were you doing walking around in your condition?" Jody's surgery was less than twenty four hours ago.
"I.." Before she can think of a excuse, she froze when she saw the monstrous Dr Gaines walking in wiping his mouth.
"Jody! You gave us quite the scare." Jody's heart was beating so hard, she swore he heard it. He started smiling. "You just had major surgery. You're lucky your stitches didn't rip open."
"I needed some air. My stitches were itchy, guess I got woozy." Jody lied.
"Well, don't do that again. Don't make me go back in there!" Dr Gaines teased.
He turned to walk out. When the nurse took out a needle, Jody demanded on asking what she was doing.
"This is to help you sleep." She puts the needle in her iv. "Have a good sleep."
Jody waited till they left.
"Yeah right. Dr Monster Face." Jody wasn't sure what he was, but she wasn't sticking around to find out. "Dammit." She ripped out her iv, but the medication was already kicking in. She sagged back in the bed. "Stay awake Jody." She had to warn Bobby. Grabbing her bag, she slowly and sleepily sneaks out of her room.
"What's going on in your end Rufus?" Once Dean called and explained what happened after that weird storm, Rufus and Bobby were cleaning up. Luckily the monsters they encountered were passive and confused. Both took no time cutting off their heads and burying the bodies. "Yeah me too. No, I'm not calling the boys, Sam just had his baby. Thanks Rufus." Rufus called Bobby a old geezer. "Yeah, I'm a grandpa again." Bobby couldn't help but be proud. "Both Dean and Sam will be out of the life for awhile. Mm hmm." Feeling his phone buzzing, he tells Rufus he had to go. "Name? Melinda. Yeah. Supposedly she's named after her ancestor. Goodnight." Bobby clicks the phone. "Yeah."
"Find Jody Mills. She's in great danger." Click.
Most people would brush it off as a prank call. But Bobby knew better. He dials a number.
"This is Jody. Leave a message." BEEP.
Twenty calls and countless texts later, Bobby jumps in his car. He didn't know who the voice was, but he was right about everything so far. Sioux Falls was a few hours away.
Jody was no idiot. She already ripped out her battery and threw her phone in the nearest garbage can. She had no choice but to call a cab from the nearest pay phone.
"David's Realty please." She walked what seemed like miles. Once the cab pulled up, she climbs in.
"Where to Miss?"
"As far as you drive. I have credit cards." No. "I mean, the Sheriff's Office."
"Right away."
Edgar walks in the hospital alone. Seeing a lone nurse, he asked if two teenagers walked in.
"Two teens, about yay high?"
"Sorry sir. Is there anything I can help you with?"
"I can take over." Dr Gaines takes Edgar away. "I sent them to kill the hunters." Dr Gaines made a call. "They will die."
"Good. We can't allow them to change things." Edgar been around far longer than angels. "And the Plant?"
"We are finalizing the blueprints." It took years, but their factory was ready for construction. "While everyone is focused in Oregon, our headquarters are almost ready in California."
"Good." While the hunters were focused on the plants in Oregon, they were finalizing their plans in California. "Find the Stone. Translate It."
"Yes sir." He leads Edgar to a room where two frightened people were sitting. "Want a snack?" He was planning on giving his minions new identities, but time was the essence.
"Don't mind if I do." Edgar was starving.
Jody was glad she was able to sneak in without anyone noticing. Even as the Sheriff, she wasn't in the mood to give any explanation why she was wearing nothing but a hospital gown. Careful not to let her coworkers see her, she sneaks to the locker room.
Once she was dressed and wearing her sheriff uniform, she carefully sneaks back out to the hallway. Jody was desperate for a cup of coffee, she could smell it down the hall. But she wasn't foolish to be seen. She needed a phone. Luckily she knew where one was.
"Yeah." Bobby's surly voice almost made Jody collapse in relief.
"Bobby, it's Jody."
"Jody? Thank god." Bobby's relieved voice came over the phone. "Where are you?"
"The Station."
"Okay, I'm close. Meet me in the back."
"Okay." Before Jody left, she grabs a holster and a gun someone foolishly left on a chair. Making a note to scold the person when she heals, she sneaks out the back door.
Bobby wasn't sure what to expect, but when he saw Jody, he stops the car.
"Jody? How?" He heard her appendix burst.
"Just drive."
As they drove, Jody asked why they weren't heading to his place.
"If you're a target, then so am I." Bobby had to head North. "Gotta ditch this car." Bobby knew he had to stay underground for awhile. "Tell Alex to hide. I left a message to Sam and Dean. Don't ask me why, all I know is we gotta get as far away from here."
"Is it okay if I take a nap?'' Jody finally passes out.
Bobby's knuckles were white, he already destroyed his phone. As for his house, he already knew. He drove down back roads, he and Jody had to leave the State.
"Yuck." Bianca was grossed out. They already decommissioned one leviathan, by cutting off its head, but there was still another.
The tied up monster was laughing.
"You can't kill me. Armageddon is coming." It mocked. It was wearing Melinda's face.
"Believe me, we don't want that." Chris was glad he saved this potion.
Melinda hands Chris a bottle.
"What's this?" It looked different from her other potions.
"A sleeping potion. Harmless to humans, but for leviathans, nighty night." Melinda learned how to make it from alchemist Richard Montana. "I only can spare this one, save it for whenever you need it."
Bianca hated waiting, but she didn't want to interrupt the two lovebirds whenever they were together.
"Take care." Chris watches from the rearview window as Melinda waves goodbye.
"San Francisco huh?" Bianca never been out of the state. "I heard California was where stars were made." She seen many of the old movies, whenever there was electricity. Plays were done whenever anyone had free time which were rare. The play 'Grease' was her favorite musical.
"That was the good old days." Chris missed the days were politicians argued against each other. Most were either dead, or were happily worshipping The Beast. "This mission is dangerous, the leviathans are the least of our problems."
"Great." She was just a kid. She should have been attending school, not fighting evil. She hated her life. "We have enough food?"
"It's our water we should worry about." Chris sighs. "Arizona is dry." It was the middle of August, no living creature could survive the heat. "We can only travel at night." It was dangerous to travel in day, but nights was suicide.
"And the vampires?" They lived underground in caves.
"They're nocturnal creatures. Just as long as the sun is out, no vamp will dare venture out." Chris had his potion, it was guaranteed to kill anything. But its ingredients were rare. "Time of the essence, if you need the bathroom, now is the time."
The leviathan laughed even when the borax was getting thrown on its face.
"You know this is pointless. Killing me won't do a thing. It's inevitable." He changed into Chris' form. "You'll wish for Death."
"Then we'll have one less monster to worry about."
Bianca watches as Chris puts the head in the box.
"What now?"
"I don't know." Chris says honestly. He puts his machete away. "First we've take care of this body, then bury the head in concrete. But not before draining this thing."
"What about Jody Mills? Careful." Leviathan blood was toxic. One drop could infect a person.
"If I remember the stories she told us, she escaped with Bobby Singer. It'll be awhile till we see her again." He carefully drained the body. Once he sealed the head inside the box with tape, he gestures for Bianca to help get rid of the body. "We still have to take care of Edgar."
"Great." The Leader's right hand man. This won't be easy. "Where is this bastard?''
Singer Auto Yard
Edgar walks around the junkyard. Hearing a noise, he turns around.
"Aren't you a little young to be here?" He taunts Bianca. He looks around. "Where's your babysitter?"
"I dunno. Where's your posse?" She was terrified, but tried not to show it.
"I usually don't show mercy, but I'll let you go." Before Bianca could react, he backhanded her hard enough to knock her against a car. He looks across. "You can't save your future! It's already here!" He taunts.
"Uh huh." Chris took no time pressing the button. Edgar didn't have time to react before the car crushes him into black mush. Chris wasn't sure if Bianca was okay, but he called 911 anyways. He just hoped the authorities didn't blame both for Bobby's house burning down.
"911."
"I need a ambulance." Sioux Falls General. He had to take care of those monsters there, hopefully they didn't know about their mission.
San Francisco, California
"Really Phoebe? You're spoiling her." Melinda's room was full of gifts. "She doesn't need a tablet."
"Its not just a tablet, it's a tome. Magic School sent us this." She hands the tablet to Piper.
Piper opened it to hear nursery rhyme music.
"Intro to Magic. Phoebe."
"I know. I know. But she is a witch. She has to learn how to use her powers." Phoebe wished she had this as a child. "Melinda has to learn how to control them as she grows up."
"She's too young." Piper and her baby were just released from the hospital. "Where's Paige?"
"The Police Academy. She is way behind her peers and taking extra classes to keep up." Phoebe coos to her niece. "How's my little nibbling. I could eat you up with ranch dressing." She smiles as Melinda blinks. "I swear she understands what we're saying."
"She isn't a ordinary baby." Piper tucks her in with her baby blanket designed with a pink triquetra sewed on it. Hearing a phone ringing on Melinda's dresser, she asks Phoebe to answer it.
"Probably Sam asking what onesie to get." Since Melinda was bigger than other babies, Sam and Piper had to find her larger baby clothes. "Hello?" Her eyes widened. "When?" She closed her eyes. "Oh god." She teared up.
"Phoebe?" Piper got worried when she saw her tears. "What is it?" Hopefully their ancestor Melinda was okay.
"Thanks Paige." Phoebe grabs a tissue from the nightstand. "Scared Meadows is gone. There was a earthquake. There's no survivors."
They had to wait till the authorities finished their investigation to hold a memorial service. They already made plans for the funerals, Castiel and Paige were forced to call the insurance companies to compensate the families. It took a few days, but a week later was allowed to hold a service.
"It wasn't your fault." Castiel saw how devastated Paige was. "You had other matters." He wasn't there fighting The First Witch, but heard the story from Dean after he picked up Castiel and those two hitchhikers
"I know. But." She sniffled. "I did everything, except updating the building codes." California's building codes required every structure to stand against earthquakes, which Paige forgot to update. "It's all my fault." Kevin, JD, Geraldine, the staff and patients. "It's all gone." She and everyone else were wearing black.
"I'm sorry." Phoebe felt awful. So many innocents. She watched as various news vans pull up. "Fuckin' vultures." This was a private service. She glared at the limo that just arrived.
"Looks like the Mayor is here." Piper was glad Melinda was sleeping, Piper refused to leave her with a babysitter.
Dean and Jenna said nothing, but both were trying to entertain Laura who was squirming in Jenna's arms.
"Looks like he is about to make his speech." Sam didn't care what he said, this was all a publicity stunt for his reelection.
"Shh." Castiel waved to his family to sit down, Hannah, Claire and Jack came to pay their respects. .
"Before I begin, let us bow our heads for a moment of silence."
Halliwell Manor, Outside
"I can't get in!" A pale demon complains. He slams against the invisible force field again. He was immediately thrown back. "Argh!"
"No use brother, we cannot penetrate that shield without help." He looks up. "I doubt anyone is home at the moment." He didn't see any cars.
"Hawker says the Charmed One's baby will restore us to full power." They came here to steal her life force, but no one was home.
"But will that be enough? Rumour was The Beast's Power was unlimitless.
"The Crone is nothing but a old hag. Lucifer is dead." Demonkind talks, Lucifer being killed was gossiped for months.
Demon Two didn't say anything. He read the bible, he doubted the author knew who or what The Beast was.
"Forget this. We need another way in."
"We need to possess a innocent. Preferably someone the Sisters are close to." His first choice was that Jenna woman, but she had her anti demon tattoo. "I overheard the sisters, that they were heading to a funeral." They were watching them earlier, thanks to a demonic seer.
"Then we'll borrow some meatsuits." They go inside a abandoned house next door to ditch their present meatsuits. Once they smoke out, they wait for their guests to come home.
"I can't believe he made a speech." Phoebe was disgusted at the Mayor. "Using a funeral to pitch his reelection." They were driving home after the memorial, they were hosting a private wake for their closet friends and comrades.
"That's why I hate politics." Paige was driving Phoebe, Jo and Dex who flew in for the service. "How's things?" She asked her friends sitting in the back of her car. Dean was driving his family and Mrs Tran, Kevin's mom to the Manor, while Sam and Piper were riding in a bus Paige rented for everyone else.
"We're actually making a profit." It was a rough start, neither had any idea how to run a marijuana farm. "Ever since it became legal in our state, our plants were sold out in days." They were in the red for years, even with legalization, the industry was hard to run. So much red tape. Luckily they stubbornly held on. "How's Billie holding up." Jo only met her a few times, she was a casual employee back then.
"Devastated. She couldn't make it, she is currently deployed in Hawaii." She graduated boot camp awhile back ago, Paige already attended her graduation. Phoebe couldn't make it because of school, and Piper was still in the hospital.
"Poor JD." Dex barely knew him, he took over Dex's job as a maintenance man before he quit. "He gets trapped in a picture by a demon, and this is how he meets his end." He knew Billie and him dated.
"At least he's in Heaven." Paige wondered if he was safe from Michael. He was a whitelighter candidate.
"Except for the Mayor, the service was beautiful." Phoebe knew Paige and Castiel spared no expense. "Just wish it was more private." It was currently trending online. She was glad there was so many well wishers, but she saw a few influencers using the service for their social medias. Pricks.
"How's Linda holding up?" Linda Tran was Kevin's mom. She barely said two words during the service. Kevin already had his own service the other day, Sam and Dean held a hunter's funeral for him with Mrs Tran's blessing.
"Trying to hold it together." Kevin's ex girlfriend, Channing Ngo came to pay her respects. She was riding in the bus with everyone else. "Poor woman is devastated." Paige sighs. "She asked us to donate Kevin's insurance to charity." Paige already chosen a charity in Kevin's memory. She and Linda agreed to a scholarship for AAPI Students studying in the United States. "Kevin always wanted to be a politician, maybe this way he can help others." She pulls up to the Manor. "Come in and have a drink. Phoebe and I just have to set the food out."
Linda Tran felt nothing but numbness. Her baby was gone. She knew it wasn't anyone's fault, but she couldn't help but feel resentful towards the witches. She felt Channing's hand.
"Mrs Tran. I, I'm so sorry." She felt awful. She and Kevin were broken up for a long time, but she still cared about Kevin as a person."Is there anything I could do?" She was working as a nurse in a hospital back in Illinois, she and Linda stayed close friends.
"I'll be fine." She wished she had enough money to send Kevin to Princeton. He disappeared during that weird storm back in Illinois a few years ago, refusing to go back to school. He went back to night school to get his GED when he was twenty one, and moved to California to earn a living. Unfortunately, he couldn't get any scholarships for college with his GED. But he always said he never regretted a thing, he said it was his destiny. "Looks like we're here." She needed a smoke. She quit years ago, but she really needed one now. "Channing, would you mind standing with me for a few minutes?" She knew some of Kevin's friends on a casual basis, but not very well.
"Sure." She didn't smoke, but knew Linda was stressed out.
What neither noticed was black smoke coming towards them as everyone went inside.
"Remember when Kevin bragged about fooling Crowley?" Dean laughs. The Manor was full of music, they knew everyone wouldn't want them crying and feeling sad.
"JD, for a guy from the fifties, he never lost his touch with the ladies!" After him and Billie broke up, he used his charms to woo women in San Francisco. He hit on Paige and Phoebe whenever Billie wasn't around.
"The Men of Letters, they really underestimated us!"
No one noticed "Linda" and "Channing" walking in quietly.
"So far so good." Parasite Demon One was nervous about coming inside, but so far the magical shield surrounding the Manor believed he was human. He nodded back at a guest, the guest believing he was Linda Tran.
"Where's the baby?" Parasite Demon Two was looking around. He saw a baby crawling around, but was disappointed when she was just a mortal. He was using Channing as his temporary suit.
"Probably upstairs." Neither was planning on keeping these suits, they needed their original bodies to the spell to work. "Shall we go upstairs?"
Just as they were about to head up, they were spotted by one of their friends.
"Linda! Channing! Come have a beer!" Dean calls out.
Both demons exchange glances.
"Don't worry, we have time." Linda smiles back at Dean. "Pass me a bottle." She pulls out a smoke. "Want one?"
"Where's Jack and Claire?" Paige saw them earlier, but she didn't see them in the Manor.
"They said something about a case. Hannah is outside with the baby."
"She's so big!" Piper said she was only a few weeks old, but was already growing so fast. "May I?" Hannah cooed at Melinda. "What a big girl you are!" She already held Laura, she was envious of the Winchester Families. "She will grow up to be strong." She wasn't an angel anymore, but could tell she'll be a strong woman.
"What about Laura?" Jenna was watching her crawling on the grass outside, she was fascinated by the trees outside. She was glad it was warm here, back in Kansas, the fall weather was chilly.
"She will be a great and powerful leader."
"Wonderful." Normally news like that would make most people happy, but Jenna and Dean saw her adult self leading the armies in their dreams. "Well raise her right then." Jenna excuses herself to get her inside, it was starting to get cold.
"So, how's motherhood?"
Paige was wondering why Linda was so quiet, she kept staring at Melinda outside.
"Here you go." Phoebe hands Paige a beer.
"Thanks." She took a sip of her beer. "Is it just me, or Linda acting strange." She was joined by Channing who was looking out the window.
Phoebe looks at Linda and Channing who were both very still.
"She just buried her child, and Channing and Kevin dated back in high school." Phoebe saw both staring intently at Melinda when Piper carried her inside. "She probably remembers Kevin being a baby." A mother losing a child. She remembered their Grams crying over Patty's picture from time to time.
"Yeah, you're probably right." She finishes off her beer. "Let's greet our guests.'' She and Phoebe were co-hosting the Wake.
"How long do we have to do this?" Parasite Two was getting impatient. The baby was right there, but she was surrounded by witches and hunters.
"Patience." Unlike his brother, he was more patient. ''These women are their friends. We can enter and go as we please." They just needed to take the baby and leave. "They have to sleep sometimes." He already stole a spare key. "We can sneak downstairs and wait for everyone to leave." He saw guests coming in and out of the kitchen. Let's go."
"Thanks for coming." Piper already put Melinda to bed. Laura and her parents was sleeping over at Phoebe's apartment, Jenna and Dean didn't want to leave yet.
Once everyone was gone, Phoebe and Paige started cleaning.
"Why do we have to clean!'' Phoebe complains as she holds a trash bag.
"Because Piper is anal about cleanliness." She wasn't happy about cleaning either, but they were the hosts. "It won't take us long."
"How long!" Channing complained. It'd been hours.
"Soon." It was getting dark. "We'll take the baby and run." Linda didn't care about these meatsuits, but time was of the essence. "Once they go to bed, we can leave with the infant."
Phoebe was picking up empty bottles and cups when her phone buzzed.
"Hello?" When she heard the news, she dropped her bag of garbage. "When? Oh god." She collapsed on the floor sobbing.
"Phoebe?" Piper went downstairs to check out a thumping noise, when she noticed Paige holding Phoebe who was sobbing on the phone.
"Okay. I'll take the first flight out." Phoebe's face was streaked with tears. She thanked Piper who handed her a box of tissues. "It's Elise." Phoebe cried harder when her sisters started hugging her. "She was at work, she had a stroke. She...She didn't make it." She cried harder.
"Oh Pheebs." Elise was her former boss at The Bay Mirror. When Elise and Phoebe were laid off, Elise moved to San Diego.
"The funeral is in a week." Elise was being buried in her hometown in Utah. "I have to fly to San Diego to help with the family. Then go to Utah."
"Don't worry, go to the funeral." Paige insisted. "I can ask your classmates to record any lectures."
"And I'll take care of things here." Piper and Sam were gonna go home the same time as Dean and Jenna, but Phoebe needed her when she got back. "Go to bed. I'll clean up." Melinda was sleeping anyways, and Sam was right next to her bassinet sleeping on the bed.
"Thanks." Phoebe was tired before, now she was exhausted. "Goodnight."
"Should we stay with her?" She saw her eyes, Phoebe was devastated.
"We should let her be." Elise was her best friend. "Leave the mess, we could hire a maid. Let's go to bed." Melinda woke up several times at night, Piper breast fed her whenever she cried.
"Finally." They heard the sisters going upstairs. "Let's grab the brat."
"Not yet." Demon One heard footsteps upstairs. Hmm. This won't be easy. "The hunter is here as well." He saw Sam Winchester earlier. "Damn. I was hoping he'll be with his brother. We need a distraction."
Sam waited till his wife went to bed, he and Piper agreed to never leave Melinda alone. He was hungry and was craving a sandwich. When he saw Linda Tran, he jumped.
"Linda! What are you doing here!" He whispered.
"I saw Kevin's ghost. I, I don't think he's at rest. I didn't know who else to ask." She teared up. "Outside. I don't want Yama taking his soul." Yama was a demon that collected souls of Asian Origin.
"Okay. I'll make a potion." He and the sisters had no idea how to kill Yama, as one of the first demons of Hell, he was practically invisible. But a ghost vanquishing spell can send Kevin away to his final rest.
"What about your wife? Her sisters?"
"This won't take long." The potion wasn't too hard. Luckily he knew where all the ingredients were at.
Parasite Two, using Channing's body sneaks upstairs. He just hoped the sisters were . He just hoped his brother fooled Sam long enough. He looked around every door. Now was a guessing game, which door was the baby?
Sam was holding the potion. Linda insisted she saw Kevin standing in the yard.
''You sure he's here?" He didn't sense anything.
"I'm sure." Sam's back was turned just as Linda holds a wine bottle to hit him over the head.
"Oof!" Sam falls forward when the bottle knocks him out.
"Nighty night." She drops the bottle by his body.
Piper was in a deep sleep when she heard Melinda's crying. Not again.
"Sam? Go heat up a bottle." She had her breast milk in the freezer. When Melinda screamed louder, she heard Phoebe walking in.
"Piper? You know I love Mel, but...Piper!" She screamed. She saw Channing Ngo holding Melinda's bassinet. Her eyes were red.
Piper was up in a instant. She tried grabbing Channing, but she was already running down the hallway.
"Paige! Sam!" She'll be damned to lose her baby. She runs out after the demon.
Melinda was screaming in fear as the demon runs down the stairs. Piper hearing her daughter's screams leaps off the staircase grabbing the demon before she runs out the door. Melinda flies out of Channing's arms, luckily she uses her own powers to float harmlessly in the air.
"Piper!" Paige screams. She orbs to the attic to grab a athame.
Phoebe started chanting the anti demon spell.
"Channing" smirks. She smokes out, but not before breaking Channing's neck.
"My baby." She felt bad about Channing, but she needed to be sure Melinda was okay. She ignored the pain in her leg.
Sam woke up to Piper's screams. Hearing Melinda's cries, he slowly runs inside.
"I already called 911." Phoebe was holding on to her phone.
Piper insisted that Melinda be taken to the hospital. She was being loaded in the ambulance with Sam. Sam head was bleeding hard, while Piper had a broken leg.
Dean was standing outside, as soon as Paige called, he came here immediately. Cas and Hannah were staying in Phoebe's apartment with Jenna and Laura.
"Shit." He saw that Sheridan woman pulling up. Piper told him she had a vendetta against the sisters. He saw Channing's body being taken away by the coroner. As much as he wanted to be with Sam and Piper, he had to protect this house. He goes inside.
"You guys are making this too easy." What happened in here? A dead body, with two injured people. She couldn't wait to slap on the cuffs.
The Crone was looking at the runes.
"If only our destruction was our only worry." The Prison Walls were weakening more everyday.
