Proverbs 30:14
There is a generation, whose teeth is as swords, and their jaw teeth as are knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
The newborn vampire was horrified on what he's done. When he looks up, he was confused on why his friend was laughing.
"First time?"
"She was just a kid." She was what, sixteen?
"A wench." The vampire licks his lips. "My first was my sister. Your relatives, the closer in age you are, the more delicious they taste." His twin gave him a look of betrayal, she spit in his face before she died from shock. "Cheer up. I promise you, it gets easier."
"Never." Benny swore to never kill again. He wasn't a killer.
Benny laughs as he watches the sharks devour the body. He wasn't cruel, he made sure to drain the captain before throwing his body overboard. His fellow vampire slaps him on the back.
"You did good. This boat. Phew." The Cuthrone was a grand ship.
"Wasn't his anyways, the last Captain was rumored to be cursed, this boat was empty when the new crew found it." Benny licked his lips. "Sorry, I was thirsty." He hadn't eaten in days.
"Not since The Old Man that I seen with an healthy appetite." Desmond tells him. "The boat is ours, where should we sail next?" Australia was amazing, but so was France.
"How about Greece? I never been there."
"Ah. Greece is lovely this time of year. Last time I was there, I was reborn." Desmond was on vacation with his wife before he turned. Shame that his wife refused to join him. She tasted delicious though.
A century later Benny was driving through the roads of Achaea. He was tired, he spent the last few decades on land, his Father wanted Benny to see the world on dry land instead of water. Seeing a lone farmer working on his vineyard, Benny was tempted to stop, but he was on a diet. Besides he had to lay low, he heard rumors that a British Organization known as The Men of Letters had a base of operations in Greece. He needed to eat though, good thing there was wild boars around, they tasted like bacon.
Those eyes. Never has Benny seen anyone with stars before. The young woman was sunbathing on the beach, her yacht sitting on the ocean, with her crew waiting for their boss to finish her sunbathing. The sun was making him sleepy, but Benny refused to sleep. He had his orders, to take the boat, but not before killing the heiress and her men. When she got up to use the ladies room, it was a perfect opportunity to kill her. But as Benny followed her, he knew he couldn't.
Benny was staring hatefully at his family. All of them, they betrayed him, but not as much as The Old Man.
"My son." He flinched when Benny spit blood in his eye. "Don't hurt him!" When another vampire punched Benny on the face. He stares pitifully at Benny. "Why? I loved you."
"Did you? Or was it because you loved yourself more. What, the mirror wasn't good enough for you?" Benny met a lot of egomaniacs, Leopold, Hitler, that nun from India, but none held a candle to The Old Man. His nest, he only kept his most loyal followers alive. The ones that rebelled, they were quietly eliminated.
The Old Man smiled. He tenderly brushed Benny's temple. His gaze looking lovingly in Benny's eyes.
"I don't want to lose you, you were my favourite."
Benny refused to talk, he wasn't going to feed his ego. Instead he stares at Andrea with regret.
'I'm so sorry.' He should have left her alone, tipped off the Men of Letters about his nest. Then send Andrea far away, away from Benny. The last thing that he saw before his head was cut off was Andrea screaming in terror as the Old Man ripped out her neck.
Present Day
"Benny, did you update the systems?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Okay, before you go, don't forget to write your reports."
"As you wish Miss Kira."
"I told yo...Never mind." Kira smiles. "We'll miss you around here." Benny was her most loyal employee, he was never absent, always punctual, and was well liked by the staff and students. Knox wasn't picky, they didn't discriminate the person's background. Kira was a ex-demon, Benny a vampire.
"I know. You gave me a chance when no one else wouldn't." Benny was going to miss her and everyone here. But he was homesick.
"You sure you don't want to fly? Its faster than a boat." She booked a overnight flight for him, knowing the sun made him sleepy.
"I'll be fine. The sea air will be good for me." Fifty years. The last time he was on a boat was when he was travelling with Andrea. Benny tips his hat at Kira. "You take care." She'll be fine, this place was tighter than Fort Knox.
"Ben, don't you miss it out there?" Andrea had her arms wrapped around his waist. Every night Benny stared longingly out towards the sea.
"Not really. I was young. The sea life, it got very restricting after awhile. It ended for me when I met you. My beautiful mermaid." Benny turns around and kisses her.
"Roy! Need another order of the spicy gumbo!" The owner calls.
"Coming right up!" Roy took no time preparing the roux, wasn't easy, one mistake will ruin the dish. Luckily Roy worked with the best chefs in old Louisiana back in the day.
"Roy! Don't forget to help Lou with the cases!"
"Not a problem!" Benny almost wondered if it was worth it. He gave up a lucrative career with a great title, plus didn't had to hide who he was. Here on the other hand, he was paid pennies, served slop in a run down diner, and lived in a dumpy camper. Plus had to lay low. Not just from hunters, but from angels. But looking at the woman talking to her customers, Benny had everything he needed.
"Don't forget to check the alarms, lock the doors..."
"Make sure the stove is off, same with the AC, and clean off all the tables. Relax! I got this." He smiled at Elizabeth's relieved face.
"What will I do without you." She was so glad she hired Roy. She rarely hired drifters, but Benny was her best employee. Shame she could only afford to hire him part time. Before she could walk put the door, she reminded him about the day's receipts.
"Already on it. Don't worry about a thing!" He had several jobs back in the day. Although credit cards, instant pay and coin were still new to him.
"Thanks. Have a good night! See you tomorrow!" She said cheerfully as she flounces out.
"Night darlin'!" He waves as she walks out the door.
"Hell of a girl isn't she." A longtime customer tells Benny.
"She sure is." Benny fills up his coffee.
"Are you...close?" He saw how close Roy and Elizabeth were.
"As close as family. She's like my baby sister."
The customer looks up into Benny's eyes.
"Mind if I take a shot?"
Benny just stares at him. The guy was what, fifty? Elizabeth was just a kid. At least to Benny. But what does he know. He had a few centuries on Andrea.
"She's all yours." He went to fill up another customer's coffee.
"Thanks."
Martin watches as Benny walks away after pouring the guy's coffee. Guy had some nerve, being here, acting like he belonged. He was watching carefully, making sure he collected enough evidence before he struck.
Later that night, Benny closed up the cafe. He didn't mind the work, although he was bored stiff how slow the restaurant got after Elizabeth left. He almost missed the times when he scolded the students for being late for curfew, especially the younger vampires. Unlike him, those vamps were pureblood, they were sent to boarding school to get their education, and to keep them safe, not from hunters, but from corrupt vampires.
He wasn't tired, but he was hungry. It was time to dinner.
Martin sneaks out from behind the shadows. He had his orders, but first follow Benny.
The young boy was running for his life. Not just from the crazy vampire, but from his father. When he ran into a brick wall, he whimpered.
"Don't hurt me." He begged. He was only a kid.
"It took me a long time to find you. Must be my lucky day.'' He was dying to have a nest, since he was thrown out, he couldn't find any suitable candidates. But a pureblood? Even the Old Man didn't have one.
"My dad. He'll be furious."
"Sorry kid, he's dead." Gayle was a formidable opponent, but he underestimated his friends. He smirked when the boy cried.
"Daddy." First his mom, then his dad. His vision went black as the vampire hit him over the head.
Desmond nods to his old friends. They had orders, bring Benny home. As for the boy, Desmond had plans for him.
Benny stares in horror at the dead body. Instantly he knew. He took out his cell, he had to call a close friend of his.
"I need your help. Carencro, Louisiana." He had to bury the poor bastard, before he was discovered.
Martin takes out his own cell.
"It's like you said. He's here." He hung up the phone. He was holding his own machete, not just to cut off heads, but to protect himself. As tempting it was to kill Roy/Benny, he had his orders. Bills needed to be paid first.
One Week Later
Chris pulls up to the motel and pays for a room. It was close to Benny's place, but also the same motel as Martin Creaser's. He was only here as a favor, he owed Martin one.
Knock Knock
"Who is it?"
"Chris. We met at a hospital years ago hunting a wraith disguised as a nurse." He was wearing a bullet proof vest, he knew Martin had a shotgun pointing straight at him. When the door opened, Chris holds up his arms, knowing how jumpy Martin was.
"Have to make sure." He threw water and pressed a silver knife to Chris' neck. Satisfied Chris was legit, he lets him in. "Two dead bodies were found. Saw the gravesites myself." He may have been in a loony bin for a few years, but never forgot about being a hunter.
"Was it a vamp?"
"Yep. Witnessed him burying the bodies myself."
"Did you see the killings?" Chris was mentally taking notes. He had to be careful, Martin was still emotionally fragile.
"I saw enough."
"Mmm." Chris couldn't change history much, but he had to save one life at least. "Martin, you just got out. Promise me you'll retire after this." He sagged when Martin shook his head.
"Can't. You had the nightmares too. There's no such thing as retirement."
"Fair enough. You know the vamp's name?"
"Folks call him Roy, but we both know that's just a alias."
Benny. Chris should have known he would want to keep an eye on his only relative.
"Okay. Where does he hang out usually?"
"Some diner called Guidry's. Benny's been there for a few months."
"Okay. Don't do anything till I check it out. If anything is unusual comes on the news, call me."
"Okay. I...I have my...electro...shock treatment anyways." Martin stuttered.
"Take it easy Martin." Good thing he didn't go to Scotland, he had Benny's cure ready to go. By tomorrow, Benny would be fully human again.
Guidry's Gumbo Café
Chris flirts with Elizabeth, but only mildly. He knew how overprotective Benny was.
"Damn! That was fantastic." He blushes when Elizabeth laughs as he licks the bowl clean. "Never ate that well since I got out of the army." Both Mel and Laura were incredibly strict on their armies diet. "You have pie?" He didn't care for sweets, but he wanted to know if the pie was just as good.
"We have pecan and cherry."
"Hand me the pecan. If I'm still hungry, maybe I'll have the cherry as well."
"Coming right up." As she walks away to hand him his pie, Chris takes a look at his cell.
'Took care of that nest. They were already slaughtered when we got there, whoever did it had a vendetta.' Bianca went there with a few vampire hunters, Bianca remembered the time Paige was turned by the Queen and became a vampire. A vampire was bad enough, but a witch vampire would be unstoppable force of evil.
'And Cole?' Cole hated the vampires as everyone else. He slaughtered the last Queen on the Source's orders.
'There's no sign he was ever here. This was a massacre.' Bianca sent him a few pictures, the dead creatures had signs they were tortured severely before they got their heads cut off. 'I don't think Michael's treatment had any effect.'
'Was it Rennek?' He was a darklighter, but hated vampires since they betrayed him to the Elders back during Atlantis' destruction.
'Nope. Rennek wouldn't have bothered with such a weak nest.'
'Probably Zankou. Keep your head down, and don't do anything stupid.'
'Yes, dad. LOL.' She knew how overprotective Chris was of her. 'I'm heading south, there's a rugaru causing trouble near San Diego.'
'Have fun.' Bianca wasn't a kid anymore, she could hold her own. But she was family.
"Sorry, we're out of pecan pie, and we just sold our last cherry."
"That's okay, gotta hit the road anyways." Chris takes out a few bills, leaving Elizabeth a generous tip.
"Why thank you!" The tip was bigger than the bill.
"You work hard enough as it is." Seeing a picture, he asked what Benny/Roy was up to. "Been awhile since I worked with Roy, how is he?" Benny never told anyone about Elizabeth, but used the name 'Roy' as a nickname to the son he had back in the day. Benny always lamented he never met his only son, although he was born from a one night stand with a prostitute back during the Gold Rush. Other than that, Chris didn't know much about Benny.
"Roy? He's doing good. He's currently on vacation, the tourist season is slow, and don't need the extra help at the moment. If you are looking for him, check out Mill Creek."
"Mill Creek?"
"He's fishing I suppose. If you want to catch up, better bring a extra pole. Roy's overprotective about his stuff."
"Not a problem." He knew what Benny drove, he refused to buy anything brand new, the money he made from Knox and from his pirate days, he left it all to Elizabeth and her future offspring in a trust fund. He took out a piece of paper and handed it over to Elizabeth. "Here's my number." He winked at Elizabeth making her blush. "You need anything, no matter what, give me a ring."
"Maybe I will." She looked at the name. "Chris." She waves goodbye as he leaves the restaurant.
"Miss, can I have another coffee?"
"Right away." She brings out a fresh pot to the scrawny guy sitting alone in a booth.
'Benny, I'm on the way to where you are. Watch out for me.' Chris hoped he wasn't too late. Dean needed Benny, although they were strangers at the moment.
Benny gives the dead woman a prayer. Hearing footsteps, he tensed, but didn't attack.
"I didn't do this."
"I know." The evidence was pretty damning, but Chris knew better. He was holding a machete anyways. "Any idea who?" Poor girl. This was a very sloppy kill, even for a vampire.
"There is a old buddy of mine back in the old days. Desmond."
"Your buddy did this?" Chris put down his machete and started burying the body alongside Benny.
"A youngster. We ran in the pirate scene back in the day."
"A pirate?"
"Believe it or not, being a pirate is as old as prostitution. Especially during the Gold Rush." Benny, he immediately became a pirate after his transformation, he and his new partner Desmond started causing havoc, they were hungry. "This is Desmond's work, kid was always careless." No wonder the Old Man threw him out.
"Any reason why's he doing this?" Once they buried the body, Chris took out some holy water and silver bits and sprayed it over the gravesite. Can't have ghouls coming around as well.
"I assume he wants to bring the ol' gang back together. Probably wants me to vouch for him for Michael." Benny heard rumors, that the archangel wanted a strong army, but was picky about his candidates. "Good luck. The guy who turned me, even he wasn't chosen."
"You need help?"
"I got it. But your friend back in the motel room, he isn't ready to be back in the life."
"Yeah." Guys like Martin, he needs therapy. Shame that Sacred Meadows was no more. Martin would benefit far better there, they specialized in special cases like him. "Be careful. Anything goes south, call."
"You got it brotha." Once Chris left, Benny picks up his machete. Desmond was a vampire, but wasn't very bright.
Martin watches Elizabeth as she talks to his customers. It was frustrating, she was right there. It would be so easy to take her, and force Benny's hand. But he had to be patient. He polishes off his pie and leaves a tip after paying his bill.
"Pie was delicious. Have a good night."
"You too!" Elizabeth says cheerfully.
Chris was driving back to his motel room to keep an eye on Martin when he got a text.
'Chris! Get your ass to Kermit! I don't know why. I think Phoebe missed an innocent!'
Chris took no time to jump in his vehicle. He and Bianca knew about her visions, how her and her sister's innocents were in danger, same with Sam and Dean's. He knew about Amelia, but it was her husband that needed to be protected. Without him, the Texas region would be in trouble. He sent Benny a message, to talk to Elizabeth before he left town.
Benny was breathing hard when he cut off Desmond's head.
"You got strong kid, but you never learned. Never let your emotions take over." He took no time burying his body, he didn't want any other hunters coming around. He was about to have a drink of water when his phone rang.
"Hello?" He didn't recognize the number, he knew Chris changed phones often.
"Hello Benny."
"Hello?" Was this guy a new employee of Kira? She wasn't picky, she wasn't racist about hiring monsters. Except for ghouls, and other parasites. She was very picky about who watches over her students.
"Elizabeth? She's a nice looking girl." Hearing clinks of plates and forks, Benny clenched his fist.
"Who is this?"
"You have less than an hour." Click.
Benny immediately runs back to his truck. He didn't know who that was, but he wasn't taking any chances. Putting his foot to the metal, he drives back towards Carencro. He prayed hard Elizabeth was alright.
Forty five minutes later, Benny rushes inside the restaurant, startling Elizabeth who was counting the night's receipts.
"Roy! I thought you were on vacation. Is everything alright?"
Benny just stares at her. He clears his throat.
"Liz, are you okay?" He quickly checks the restaurant, double checking if everything is alright.
"I'm fine. Roy, are you alright?" He looked panicked.
"There's no one here." He looks out the window. "I'm going outside. Here." He hands Elizabeth his gun.
"Roy, what's going on?" She was holding the gun, she was confused.
"Shoot at anything that comes in. I'll be back." Benny had to check outside.
Elizabeth wanted to ask questions, but Benny was gone before she could say anything.
Ten minutes later, Benny calls out to Elizabeth.
"I'm coming in, don't shoot!'' He put up his hands. Good thing, Elizabeth was holding up his gun.
"Roy. What is going on? Why are you acting like this?"
"Liz, did anyone try hurting you?" Benny only knew Elizabeth a short time, but she was his whole world.
"Just some drunken idiot. Threw him out for trying to wreck my jukebox. Why?" She looked so innocent, but also suspicious.
"It's nothing. Just paranoid." He realized something. If he stayed, Elizabeth would never be safe. He should have never left Scotland. He knew Kira would welcome him back, she trusted him. He turned around to leave. "Goodbye Elizabeth. Take care."
"Wait!" She hated to see Roy go, he was the best employee she had. She handed Roy a letter. "Your friend, he wanted you to have this." She handed a cautious Roy an envelope. "Have a drink with me before you go. Just let me put these receipts in the safe first." She left Roy to have his privacy.
Benny opened the letter, he recognized Chris' handwriting.
Benny. If you are reading this, I had to do a job, otherwise I'll be talking to you right this moment. Remember my promise to you? How you can be human again? I have everything ready to go. You can be with Elizabeth anytime you want, you don't have to hide anymore. You can be her Pappy again. I just need you to head to Washington.
"Washington huh." Been a long time. He was looking to settle a old score.
"You say something, Roy?" Elizabeth says walking back in the main dining room.
"Hold on to that drink, I'll see you soon." Benny was going to be human. He can be with Elizabeth from now on. He laughs.
"What's so funny?"
"Nothing. Just remembering something." He could walk Elizabeth down the aisle at her wedding, see his great, great grandchildren, watch them grow up. Grow old. He wanted to hug her, but he wanted her to hug a man, not a monster. "You take care Liz. I'll be back." He heads to his truck, but he needed to head to the hospital, he needed fresh blood.
Prentiss Island, Washington
The young boy was crying silently, he didn't know why they wouldn't let him go.
"Shh. You'll be okay. No one will hurt you." She sighed when the boy flinched. "You want food? I can bring you some."
"Dad." He sobbed.
Back in Louisiana, Martin whimpers at the hunter.
"I did what you asked! I never laid a finger on her!"
"I know." Jason was disappointed that the Winchesters didn't show up. Whoever that Chris guy was, he clearly knew who Benny was. But he had his own orders. He hit Martin over the head.
"911."
"There is some guy lying on the street." He wasn't a killer, Martin was human. But those witches? They were fair game. He leaves Martin alone on the street, leaving only when the ambulance arrives. If only he killed Gayle. Oh well. The hunger will get to him eventually.
Matthew 7:15
Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Winchester Gospel 12:5
Do not judge those that are unnatural, for their hearts are darkened. Save them, for those souls need guidance.
