After the birth of their bouncing baby sister, The Kent-Lane Family soon got Lois checked out of the hospital and settled somewhere in the neighborhood of Royal Woods. It wasn't ideal, but their mother was hoping for a chance to live a quieter life, now that she was taking care of a newborn. Their dad suggested Kansas, but Lois wanted the opportunity to reconnect with her own father. So, they bought themselves a place in Royal Woods and made themselves at home. And at least it was brand new, unlike the old Loud House, which was practically on its last legs.
"I wish our house was like this growing up." Lincoln said as he admired their new home away from home. Back when he was living with the Louds, he hoped that his adopted dad would've seized the opportunity for a fixer-upper. But he didn't, and when that one storm hit Royal Woods hard, he was genuinely afraid of his and his sister's life. Now, he was glad to be living in a place that was as good as new.
"I agree. It's not Metropolis, but it'll do for now." Lois said as she carried baby Lara in her arms while Clark and Bruce came out behind her, carrying the majority of the luggage.
"And it couldn't be possible without my best friend." Clark said turning to the Wayne patriarch. "Thanks again, Bruce."
"Don't mention it."
Clark then tells his kids "You two get settled in. Feel free to check around then join up for some dinner."
Both Lincoln and Lucy did just that. The house had everything they could ask for, a fashionable living room with fresh furniture, a flat screen tv and some shelves and table lamps. The kitchen was stylish with granite countertops, shelves with all kinds of kitchenware, a modern chandelier, glass doors to the backyard and a dining table for the whole family. There was a study with a whole practical wall of windows to give a fine view of nature while a person in there could read. There were two bathrooms downstairs and upstairs, the the rest of the upstairs was a fine hall with three bedrooms, one master, three secondary, one of them may be used for a nursery. All the rooms were well furnished and perfect for the family to move into. It was a place the kids were definitely to enjoy now being in Royal Woods again.
"This is the house of my dreams." Lucy said in her normal tone, confusing Lincoln.
"Really? I thought your dream house would be a gothic, Victorian mansion that's mostly colored black and grey."
Facing her brother, Lucy simply said "You don't know anything about what I dream."
Lincoln took that into consideration as they finished settling in. But afterwards, before they had dinner, they could hear something coming over to the house. It almost sounded like a...dirt bike. Heading over to the front door, they could see that someone was in fact coming over on a bike, which had a red and white decal. When it came to a stop, the rider looked to be about their high, wearing a black jacket over a familiar looking jersey and cargo sweat pants with a red and white helmet.
But upon them taking them off, they almost knew immediately who it was.
"Lynn?" Lincoln said, recognizing his old sister. Though, she looked a little more depressed than usual. "What are you doing here? Nice bike."
"...Thanks." Lynn said, rubbing his arm. "I came to make my own amends with you guys."
Both Lincoln and Lucy widened their eyes, looking at each other before listening carefully to what Lynn had to say.
"I-I-I-I...I-I-I'm sorry. For how I treated you both during these years." Lynn started. "For bullying Lincoln...having him thrown out of the house that one time...taking Lucy for granted and making fun of her all the time. I was a crazed jock who asserted her dominance by all the sports and superstitions that I made everyone miserable by...I had no idea how horrible it was until you guys left."
This felt unreal for Lincoln and Lucy, hearing how...honest Lynn sounded.
"I know I can't change the past...but I'll try my best to do better in the future...starting with quitting sports."
Now that really surprised the two. Lynn giving up what she loved the most.
"I owe you guys that much...I really am sorry."
"...Okay, who are you and what have you done with Lynn?" Lucy said, breaking character.
"Wait, what?" Lynn said, getting out of her sad tone. "It's ME! I-I-I'm trying to apologize here!"
"We could tell, but we weren't expecting that." Lucy said. "Things just got real there."
Then Lincoln spoke up, "Lynn, you don't have to give up sports for us. What you said is all true, but we've moved on and our lives have gotten better. You should try doing the same."
That may not have come out right since Lynn was looking or feeling any better, now avoid eye contact with her former brother.
Lincoln sighed and then said to her "Look, Lynn. Maybe we can start over? As friends, maybe as family in whole other way. You don't have to give up what you love...you can just be better."
With that said, Lynn couldn't but break into tears as she suddenly embraced Lincoln in a hug, which he grateful returned. Lucy had a smile on her face as she saw this. She could that it was brand new start for their relationship.
Meanwhile, in Great Lake City a plane was coming in and landing at the airport. And coming out of it was Lex Luthor, who seemed to be wasting no time getting himself a limo and driving through the city. Once he got to where he needed to go, a foster home in the darker side of town, he welcomed himself into the building where he was met with the foster parents dealing with taming the kids.
"Uh...Hi! Welcome! How can we help you?" The foster mom asked, as she trying pull a kid by his shirt back to her.
"I'm looking for the one who calls herself Sphinx." Luthor said, staring at the woman through sunglasses. "Is she here?"
"Uh...yeah, she's in her room." The foster day said, pointing upward, indicating that Sphinx lived upstairs. Without another word, Luthor headed up there to see for himself and found that the girl lived up in a room crudely pained two types of green, dark green and neon glowing green. As for her, Sphinx was at the age of 12 with brown hair slightly tanned skin, medium-sized breasts, and a question mark-covered tube top and black jeans. When she turned to see that she had a guest, she scowled over to the biggest head of Metropolis.
"Riddle me this:" she said. "What is it that every man needs in their life? Even when we die?"
"Nothing." Luthor answered.
"Very good. To what do I owe the pleasure, Mr. Luthor?"
"Joker told me that you would be of us to in our little...program. As the niece of your Riddler, your intelligence is second to none. Join us and we shall see the world bast before your mind.
Sphinx liked the sound of that.
Back and Lincoln and Lucy's new home, the Louds were invited over for a little housewarming and to get into a new relationship with Lincoln and Lucy. After a little while, it almost seemed like the past few months never happened, and though things may never be the same, the way things are now may be better.
The sisters were talking about what Lincoln experienced at Metropolis.
Lisa found out that Clark and Bruce were Superman and Batman. But this intrigued the Dark Knight with her superior mind and was thinking of offering her an internship.
Lily got a peak at the newborn, sleeping Lara, who yawned and blep at her, and this made the Loud baby feel like it was the start of a beautiful friendship.
All was right with the family...but they had yet to know of the danger that was soon to come.
