*Quick Note*
If you read Chapter 2 as soon as it was released, you might have noticed some huge errors like 'echoing' paragraphs in different sections in that page.
I fixed that issue a while back. So if you feel confused or left out, please check my updated Chapter 2 again. I won't let that same error slip by me in future chapters.
And I do go back and revise some mistakes from the older chapters time to time. But you don't have to go back and read them again. I only fix small grammar mistakes and such.
Anyways I hope you enjoy this chapter.
Chapter 3 - Confronting Alpha
The black tall creature stared at me. His violet eyes glowed in the dim cave. I stared back as if daring him to come hug me. We stood there for quite a while, waiting for a slight movement. As I pulled out my glimmering sword, the enderman suddenly opened his jagged mouth.
It warped away and reappeared right in front of me. As soon as I saw his black body, I lunged at him, sinking my burning blade through his skin. Like a hot knife through butter.
The enderman's piercing screech echoed in the huge cave as it went up in flames. It tried to teleport away. Tried to find something to put the fire out. Eventually it found water nearby and dipped in. It did put the flames yet it burned their skin even more from touching the clear blue liquid. It screamed again, disappearing and reappeared back to safety, only to disappear into dust after meeting my sharp blade.
"This fire aspect works like a charm. I almost feel bad for that poor enderman." Picking up the monsters ender pearl, I put it in my inventory. "I wonder what teleporting feels like. Well I'll find out when I get enough ender pearls."
I proceeded with my stroll through the dark cavern that I found under the temple. My main goal was to find a dungeon spawner, but now that I have an ender pearl and some blaze powder that I stole from Ivor, I might as well find lava to obtain obsidian and create an ender chest.
"Graaah... Guuuh..."
I saw green figures in the distance and moaned with disappointment. "Only two zombies?" I walked over to them and easily grinded them to smoke. "Come on... Give more than just two."
As if answering my complaint, twenty more appeared around the dark corner. I grinned, holding my sword's grip tightly. "Now we're talking!"
Jesse walked out of the Nether portal with Axel, Reuben, and Magnus, who is the griefer of the Order of the Stone. They hiked up the paved path until they reached the Order's temple. There was a new iron door that secured the front entrance. Magnus turned his face to Jesse. "Wow. Someone really went bonkers with the defenses, huh?" They jumped down and ran to the door.
"Ssssss..."
Quickly looking at their right, five arrows instantly took out the creeper.
"Who goes there?"
Jesse looked up and saw Lukas standing on the roof holding a bow and arrow.
He put his bow down. "Jesse? Is that you?"
"Just let us in, Lukas!" Jesse waved.
Lukas waved back. "I'm so glad you're back!"
Jesse nodded. Back safely. Boomtown was wild. Too many explosions for my liking. Too many suicidal and dangerous people...
Lukas excitedly opened the door as we walked in. "Come in! You guys are never going to believe who showed up while you were gone..."
Jesse found Petra leaning on the wall with her hands folded. "Petra!"
She slowly stepped forward and smiled. "Hey guys. How's it going?" she said as Reuben begins to run around her with joy.
"Petra! You made it!" Axel gave her a tight hug.
"It's good to see you too, big guy. And it's good to see you Jesse." Petra gave Jesse a hug for a bit and let go. "Back there in Gabriel's obsidian bunker... It got pretty dicy."
"It's such a relief to see you. I'm glad you're okay," Jesse said.
She nodded. "You pulled me out of that Witherstorm's clutches and I ran and ran and ran for the Temple... If you hadn't saved me... Well, I owe you everything, Jesse. I'm just glad I heard Gabriel telling you where to go."
"Did the Witherstorm leave anything? Is anything left of our home?" Jesse asked. He needs to know what happened out there.
She frowned. "It's all a blur... But the Witherstorm left almost nothing behind. Everything... everyone... was just gone." Petra turned around and began walking along the hallway. Everyone followed her. "It... even got Gabriel."
Magnus jolted as he heard her say that. Knowing that one of his old friends was killed by that monstrous titan sinked his heart deeply for a bit.
They continued to walk until they reached the stairs to the upper floor. "Wow. Been a while since I've been here... Whoa," Magnus said. He turned around and found his 'friend' on the other side of the room. He shook his head in anger. "What. Is. She... doing here?"
Everyone turned to see what Magnus was looking at. They saw Olivia talking with a new person from a distance. Petra looked at him. "Call this a hunch... But do you two not like each other?"
Lukas scratched the back of his head. "Right, um. I forgot to mention. Olivia went on a little... expedition of her own, while you were gone."
Magnus wasn't happy to hear that. "And this 'Olivia' person... came back with her?" He turned to Jesse. "Did you know about this? Did Ellegaard put you up to this?"
He looked at him confused. "And this... is a problem?"
Magnus nodded. "You bet your butt it's a problem. No way am I working with her. Not after... ugh..."
Olivia waved at them. "Jesse! Jesse! Look. I Found Ellegaard!"
Jesse looked at the irritated Magnus "Just hang on a sec, okay? I'll go figure out what's going on."
"Good. You do that," he agreed.
As Jesse walked to Olivia, he glanced at Ellegaard. We agreed to go after one Order of the Stone member but it seems Olivia decided to go get the redstone genius by herself. At least she came back safe.
As Jesse reached them he could hear Ellegaard say something. "Easy now, Olivia. Let's try and play it cool, hm?" She noticed his presence. "So who are you, now and why did you bring him with you?"
"We're reuniting the Order of the Stone," Jesse responded.
Olivia walked up and started fangirling about what she was doing the past few hours. "It was kind of crazy actually. I went to Redstonia and there were all these incredible engineers and inventors. It was a little intimidating, actually... But Ellegaard has made me her protege!"
"Well, assistant for now," Ellegaard corrected. "I mean, after what happened..."
Olivia looked down. "I know. I'm sorry. So sorry."
"Redstonia?" Jesse asked his friend.
"It's like a town devoted to nothing but engineering and invention. It's amazing." She explained. "...And I was pretty out of my league."
"She might have, well, embarrassed herself a tiny bit," Ellegaard chuckled.
"Yeah." Olivia embarrassingly agreed. "But after I pleaded my case she agreed to take me on as her assistant and come back to help. Not bad right?"
Magnus barged in. "Oh hoo-ray. It's Ellie. And here I was just starting to enjoy myself."
"Hello, Magnus." Ellegaard eyed him with disgust. "Your voice is exactly as pleasant as I remember. Which is to say, not at all."
"Ow. My feelings." He put his hands against his hips. "Is that the same wit you're going to use to save the world?"
"Why? You here to tell me how to do it better?" she huffed.
"Oh, I would never dream of doing that. Unlike you I actually do things instead of just talking about them," Magnus talked back.
Olivia tried to step up for Ellegaard. "Hey! That's Ellegaard you're talking to! Show her some respect."
He rolled his eyes. "Wow. You finally found yourself a live one."
Olivia glared at Magnus. "Hey!"
"Hm..." He put his gloves on his chin. "Your little devotees are usually a little more on the bookish side."
While this meaningless conversation is going on, Jesse's head was boiling in frustration. Having enough of this, he lifted his hands in the air. "Would you all cut it out?! Holy crap, you're all acting like crazy people!"
Both members began to walk away. Jesse just stared at them confused. "Uh, people? Can we please focus on the bigger picture? We have a very hungry Witherstorm in the process of turning the whole world into its dinner."
Magnus looked down in silence for a few moments until looking back up. "Yeah I'll admit... That thing looked real nasty. And I've seen some nasty stuff in my time."
Ellegaard snorted. "Too much for you, was it? Your usual brutish approach didn't cut it?"
"Hey!" Magnus looked back at her. "You weren't there, all right? You didn't see how this thing just tore everything up!"
Jesse burst in rage. "Would you two stop fighting?!"
"Whoa!" the griefer exclaimed.
"Yikes." the redstone genius irked.
"Jesse's right." Petra said. "We need to find some way to stop that thing."
"I don't know if you've looked around yet, but this place isn't nearly the stronghold it used to be. Most of our supplies are gone," Ellegaard said.
"It would take a mountain of TNT to kill that thing!" Magnus nodded.
"Hello guys."
Everyone turned their head to the person who appeared near the rubble.
Axel glanced at her, "Silver Lunatic?" Alpha rolled her eyes hearing that nickname.
Lukas was surprised. "Alpha? Where have you been?"
"Ah... Just in the mines," she responded. Alpha played with her sword as she continued to approach us. "I heard you were talking about a way to kill the beast. Luckily, I know the solution."
Jesse was already having a bad day. He really felt like punching her yet he knew better. All he could do was curl his hands into a fist. "Alpha, if you knew, why didn't you tell us?!"
"Why?" I moved my shimmering blade slightly. "Do you really want to know?"
Jesse and his friends gulped. He hesitated for a moment but eventually asked her. "Then can you tell us the solution?"
Alpha walked by the thirty maps stitched together on the wall, which reveals a bigger map, and pointed at the far northern location with the tip of the blade. "Here. Find Soren in his fortress. And after that ask him for the recipe of a Super TNT called the Formidi-Bomb."
"How do you know about the F-Bomb?" Magnus asked.
She walked to Jesse. "You don't need to know that bomber man. And by the way. As we speak, Ivor is making his way there."
"Ivor? And how do you know about this?" Jesse was curious.
"Can I see your amulet for a moment?" Alpha asked Jesse.
He sighed and gave her the golden ring. "I don't have a choice, do I?"
She shrugged and snatched it away. "You could have just said no."
"Yeah right... Anyways what are you going to do with it?"
Alpha placed down the ring on the pedestal. "Turn on the switch."
"Oh, okay." Jesse flicked it on just like he did when he was first trying to find out how to use the amulet.
A small beacon-like beam turned on and powered the amulet, which then the amulet showed us the location of the Order's members on the map. The red and green beams were close together, meaning it was Ellegaard and Magnus. The white beam appeared where Alpha pointed her sword at, meaning it was Soren. And lastly, the blue beam is moving to the white beam, meaning that Ivor is on the move to Soren's fortress.
"I see..." Jesse nodded as he caught the amulet that Alpha threw back. "Then let's go to Soren's place right now. If what she says is true, then we can't waste time sitting here while this Witherstorm," he glares at the Alpha, "continues to grow stronger."
"But it will become night soon. The monsters will begin to come out. Let's just wait until morning," Ellegaard suggested.
Alpha angrily rushed to her and picked her up by the collar.
"AGH!"
Alarmed, Jesse naturally pulled out his sword. "Put her down!" Alpha ignored him. Filled with rage, he swung his blade at her occupied hand.
In the corner of her eye, Alpha blocked the strike with her free hand, which was made of steel, and took the damage like it was nothing. She turned her attention back to Ellegaard. "Are you really the hero who killed the Ender Dragon? Cause I don't see that!" Alpha got up close and personal to her grasping face. "I can't stand people who claim they defeated a greater evil only to cower because of some little monsters in the dark. Especially in a situation where the world is in danger... YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M SAYING!?"
"YES! YES!" Ellegaard rapidly nodded. "PLEASE PUT ME DOWN ALREADY!"
Alpha tosses her to the ground and walks away. "I have more important things to do than waste my time." With that, she jumped outside from the second floor and left.
The whole room was silent except for Ellegaard's heavy breathing. "What was that!? I... I thought I almost died."
"Just where did this toughy come from?" Magnus wondered. "I have never seen someone like that in my whole life."
Jesse observed the surface of his iron sword. "You and me both." He clenched the grip tightly and quietly whispered to himself. "Alpha..."
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed in the Order. I already knew that they were weak but just seeing them act like this in front of me burned me to the very core.
I shook my head. Trying not to think about it too much, I placed down my ender chest and opened it up. I took out a few swiftness potions and mined back the obsidian chest using my silk touch pickaxe.
"Now let's go to the fortress first before Jesse..." I looked down at my mechanical left arm. "Huh. Good to know that this Minecraft skin stays true to what it's supposed to be. It's a bit strange but I'm not complaining."
Not wasting more time, I splashed the potion of swiftness and sprinted north.
The moon was already rising as I arrived at the huge mountain. Jesse's gang was way far behind me thanks to my potion effects. Entering the automatic golden doors was a massive room embedded in the mountain. It had future-like decorated floors, walls, and ceilings with a quartz slab bridge crossing over to the other side of the room.
The Architect huh? I think 'The Architect of Solitude' suits him better.
I crossed the bridge and entered the second room. A pit filled with columns as platforms to jump across. I jumped down into the pit and found many endermen staring at me. I poured water where I stood and stared back at every one of those monsters.
They all aggravated towards me and rushed over. But all they could do was stand near the flowing water as they screamed in hostility. They tried to reach me with their long arms but I burned them away with fire aspect. They all screeched as they tried to put the fire away, get burned by water, and get cut by my razor sharp sword over and over again.
This lasted for quite a while. When I finished killing the fortieth-second endermen, I picked up all the ender pearls laying on the ground and I took away my water with my bucket. "Phew. That was a lot. But now I have twenty-one pearls."
I made my way to the edge of the platform and jumped into the man-made river. The current of the river pushed me down a waterfall. I fell down and swam up to the surface to see that I was in the giant room filled with a pool of water. I kept swimming until I reached the land with four statues.
Climbing out of the giant pool, I ran to the hallway that Jesse and Petra would eventually go to according to the story.
Ivor walked room after room trying to search for a solution to this horrible ongoing situation outside. But all he could find is useless information. "Damn it! Soren should have something in here!"
He proceeded to run to the next room and look through one of the bookshelves. Yet nothing useful again. "Tsk... Not here either..." He turned around and saw the silver woman coming in.
"Having trouble?" Alpha said.
"You!" He glared at her. "Trying to interfere with my plans again, I see. Your tenacity is commendable I'll tell you that."
She stared at him before nodding. "Ivor. How about working with me for a bit."
He looked at her in disbelief. "Me? With you? Don't make me laugh. Why should I cooperate with someone who ruined all my hard work?"
Alpha stepped closer with her blade at hand. "I know you have the enchanted book that contains the power to destroy the command block in your secret laboratory. I need you to help me find it."
He could feel the heat radiating from her diamond sword but didn't falter. "That book is too far away to get to. It would take days on foot to travel there you fool!"
She took out the leather seat. "I have this saddle that I found in a dungeon spawner. We'll ride a horse using a few swiftness potions that I stole from you. I think this will solve that problem."
"Do you have the horses with you?" Ivor asked.
Alpha put her hand on her chin. "We'll find them along the way."
He tilled his head. "Okay? And even if you enchant your weapon, how will you get inside the Witherstorm to destroy the command block?"
Alpha crossed her arms with confidence. "That you'll just have to wait and see."
Ivor shook his head. "I never heard of such idiotic pl-"
Jesse, Reuben, and Petra entered the room. They gasped as they saw us talking. Petra raised her golden sword. "It's yo- *Cough* again," she weakly said.
Knowing that Petra has some kind of new wither sickness, Jesse stopped her. "Petra. Let me handle this." He stepped in and pointed his blade at the Silver Lunatic. "Tell me, Alpha. What are you doing here this time?"
She smirked, which unnerved Jesse a bit. "Me and Ivor planned something together and came to the conclusion that we will change the future."
Maybe it's because he did not like the sound of that. Or maybe it's because he is starting to see her as his rival. But in any case, Jesse responded with a yell as he charged his blade at her. "ALPHA!"
*CLANG*
Two swords clashed together. One aggressive and the other defensive.
Alpha quickly glanced at his furious face before pushing his weapon away. "What are you doing?"
Jesse hopped back and readied his blade. "You... You threatened my friends. You put this whole world in danger." He took a step closer. "And now you're planning to do something with that man who created that monster. Even if I'm not strong enough, I won't let that slide past me."
Ivor furrowed at them both. "I never agreed to-"
"Ivor. Do you have a better option?" Alpha asked him.
"I..." He shook his head. "Fine! I'll go with you."
Jesse gripped his sword.
Petra, who was leaning her sick body on the wall, grew increasingly worried for him. "Jesse, maybe you should calm down and think this through."
He didn't listen to her and ran towards Alpha. "I won't let you have your way!" Jesse shouted.
While moving her sword in position, Alpha side stepped, dodging his downward strike, and swung her blade upwards, flinging his iron blade into the air.
It spun for a while until-
*Clingclingclingcling...*
The weapon laid on the brick floor. Jesse was slightly devastated. Yet he didn't look ready to give up.
Alpha pointed her blade at him. "This is pointless you know."
Suddenly Axel, Olivia, and Lukas barge in the room. They froze for a second as they noticed that their friend was being pointed by the blade.
"Jesse!" Olivia cried.
Axel curled up his big mighty fists. "You will pay for this Silver Lunatic!"
Alpha sighed and took out a slowness potion. "Ivor. Let's get out of here. I don't want to mess with them any further."
Ivor quickly agreed.
I threw the bottle at the group, splashing the magical liquid all over them. We walked out as they tried to catch us in slow motion. Turning around I locked the room shut, temporarily sealing them in there.
We sprinted up until we reached the front entrance of the fortress. The Witherstorm roared nearby, destroying anything in its path. Ivor backed up. "H... how are we supposed to avoid that?!"
I put my hand on my hips. "Don't sweat it. It won't follow us if it's too fixated on the amulet. Am I right?"
"Well yes! But Gabriel already... Unless you're telling me somebody in that group possesses it!" Ivor shook his head. "I... I didn't mean for this to happen!"
"No use in worrying about that. Come on, let's go to your lab."
He nodded and pointed in the direction where the three headed beast floated. "There. If you walk in a straight line, we will reach my hidden laboratory. But it looks like we have to go around the Witherstorm first."
"We don't have time for that." I grabbed two splash potions. "We are going to sprint under it with swiftness while being fully invisible. So hold my hand tightly and watch your step. You don't want to trip and fall on your face during this."
Ivor slightly stepped back. "Wait. Just hold on for a second!" He looked at me with unease. "Let's just go the safer route. I'm not good at evading those tentacles."
I groaned in pain. Not wanting to listen to his stupid excuse, I tightly grabbed his hands and splashed ourselves in the potions.
While I couldn't see his expression, I could hear the nervousness in his voice. "W...wait! Y...you can't be serious right now! Are you crazy?! Maybe that's the reason why I heard someone in that group calling you the Silver Lunatic. No wonder they think of you like that!"
"Quit your whining and man up. The effects won't last long!" I gripped his hand and sprinted ahead.
Ivor leaned on the rocky wall and slid down. He was covered in sweat. "That... was too dangerous."
"Ivor, get up."
He looked at me with his whole body aching. "Please... just give me a moment."
I studied him. We did run for quite a while, dodging the random tentacles in our way, but it wasn't enough to get me sweating all crazy like him.
"I spotted a horse nearby. I'll go tame it while you rest here," I said.
Leaving the tired man, I walked up to the gray horse and rode it a few times before it accepted me as its new master. I put on the new saddle and galloped the horse to Ivor. Picking his hands up, I lifted him up and placed him on the horse behind me.
"Hold on tight." I took out another potion of swiftness. "Cause we are going to ride as fast as we can to the edge of the world without stopping."
Ivor leaned on my back and sighed. "This is going to be a long journey..."
Traveling across many different biomes, we reached the Far Lands in about two days. Looking around, it was a distorted land filled with unnatural landscapes. Floating dirt and stone, stack on top of each other. Reaching above the clouds infinity. There were also water and lava streams falling off those floating lands.
I dashed my horse closer to the border as I viewed the enormous wall. "Whoa... Now this is amazing."
As I stopped the horse, Ivor woke up. "Oh? ...Finally. We are here." His fatigue from two days ago seemed to have vanished as he hopped off with satisfaction.
I hopped off my horse, dug a big enough hole, and pushed my horse inside, covering the hole back with dirt.
"What are you doing?" Ivor looked at me curiously.
"Just making sure our transport won't be running away."
"A strange way of doing that." He looked back at the warped world behind him. "Anyways, Let's find that book fast and get out of here."
I nodded. We entered inside the broken part of the world. Standing inside the gigantic cavern, we found ourselves looking at the long brick maze.
Ivor turned to his left. "I know a shortcut around this maze that will bring us to my lab faster. Here."
I followed him as he broke a few blocks, revealing a secret passage way. We ran through the small tunnels until we reached a flying redstone machine.
Ivor scratched the back of his head as he looked at the massive gap that separated his lab. "It has been a while since I've been here. I don't remember how to operate this flying machine."
I took out a stack of cobblestone blocks. "Then we bridge our way."
"You and your crazy ideas. Don't blame me if you fall off the edge," he said.
Placing the blocks down as I carefully walked near the edge, we successfully reached his bedrock lab.
I quickly entered inside, opened the secret staircase down, and broke a few iron doors along the way till I reached the room that contained the book and a few live end crystals.
Ivor caught up with me. "Alpha. Wait up. I didn't expect you to skip all my door codes like that."
I glanced behind him. "Do you think we have time to open your doors your way?"
"But normally breaking them would be a tiresome task to do. How do you have so much strength in you?" he asked.
Strength huh? I do feel a bit of fatigue after breaking those strong metal doors. Especially after carefully building that narrow bridge. But the struggle is worth it. After all, no risk no rewards.
Not answering his question, I took the warm enchanted book and turned to look at Ivor. "Show me your anvil."
"Not surprised to see the end crystals?" Ivor wonder.
I folded my hands. "I already know and we don't have time for back stories."
Ivor rolled his eyes. "What a spoil-sport." Not wasting anymore time, he walked out the door. "Follow me."
