He looked at the door to the classroom. He swallowed down his nervousness as he slid the door open and looked into the room as he called to his new students. "Team 7 come with me to the top of the roof please." The three children who were assigned to his squad got up from their seats and followed him out of the room, their classmates telling them good luck as they left.
All four were silent as they walked through the halls of the academy. He expected they were just as nervous as he was. Soon they reached the door to the roof as he opened it for them and allowed them to go out first. Closing the door behind himself he looked at the three as they sat on the floor of the roof. He knew now was the time for him to speak as he noticed their nervous faces staring up at him hoping someone would break the tension.
"Well it's good to meet you all. My name is Minato Namikaze and I will be your Jonin instructor from now on. Now I'd like for us all to learn more about each other so we can grow together as a team. Would any of you like to start?" Minato asked as he looked at the kids. They all looked at him before looking at each other before the only girl of the group spoke up. "Um, sensei. Maybe you should show us how it's done first." She asked as the other two looked at him hoping he would be able to help them on this task. Minato didn't mind this at all as he thought to himself for a second.
"OK then. Hmm, well. As you all know my name is Minato Namikaze. My likes are training, my girlfriend, helping my village be safe, and understanding and even creating new types of jutsu. My dislikes I shouldn't really say and my hobbies include studying seals and eating ramen. And my goals for the future are to see you all become the greatest shinobi there ever was, and another but we don't need to worry about that. So how was that?" He asked as he looked to his students.
"That was very helpful. Could I maybe go first?" The girl asked, Minato allowing it right away as he was happy to see the kids now starting to grow more comfortable.
"OK then, well. My name is Rin Nohara. My likes are my family and friends. I don't really have any dislikes. My hobbies include reading, and training. And my goals for the future are to be the greatest medical ninja of all time." Minato smiled at hearing that as he nodded. "That's definitely a tough one considering Tsunade exists but I think you definitely have what it takes." Rin smiles at hearing that as Minato looks to the boy to her right. "OK, your turn."
The boy takes a second to answer, not expecting to be put on the spot like this. "Oh, um. My name is Obito Uchiha. My likes are training and helping others who need it. My dislikes are people who take advantage of others and those who think they're better than others. My hobbies are the same as my likes. And my dream." He stands up as he points to the faces carved into the mountain side. "Is to become Hokage." Obito says with much viger.
Minato smiles as he's happy to see Obito's enthusiasm. "That's a great goal to strive for, Obito. Ok now you." Minato says as he points to his final student. The silver haired boy looks at the group unamused as he speaks quickly. "My name is Kakashi Hatake. My likes, dislikes, hobbies, and dreams are none of your business." The group sweat drops at that as they all look at Kakashi who has already gone back to acting like he doesn't care about what is happening. Obito seems to get annoyed by this as he gets into Kakashi's face. "Hey we did it right so you should too!" Kakashi only stared at Obito with a blank expression. "And who's going to make me, you?" Obito gets even more angry at that as Rin tries to get in-between the two. "Guy, we can't fight now."
Minato watched this with a frown before clearing his throat which get the attention of the three. "Let's not try to get hostile. You guys are a team now so you'll have to start acting like one. Or I would say that if you pass the test." That got the kids undivided attention as they looked at him confused. Rin was the one to speak up at this. "But sensei we already passed the test at the academy."
"Ah but that's the thing, you guys passed the academy test. That's there to determine if your capable of becoming shinobi, however your Jounin Sensei is the one that decides if you're ready to become ninja. That was made to minimize the likelihood of casualties on the battlefield. Understand?" The kids nodded as he smiled at how quickly they grasped at what he was saying. "Good. Then meet me at Training Ground 3 at 7:00. Understood?" The three genin nodded as he sent them on their way to get ready for tomorrow. Waiting until they were out of sight Minato breathed a heavy sigh at all he had done today. "Kushina, I wish you were here. You'd know how to calm me down." Looking around Minato remembered he was alone as he then teleported away.

Minato appeared in his home, a small two bedroom apartment that he and his girlfriend Kushina shared. Looking around he saw that the place was empty which he figured was the case since Kushina had gone on a few days long mission and wouldn't be home until later that night. He sighed as he sat on the couch and closed his eyes in thought. He had hoped their first meeting as a team would have gone better.
"I'll need to try to fix their attitudes towards one another. Kakashi especially. Though I guess it makes sense." Minato thought about how his silver haired students' past may have affected him. Taking two small bells out of his pocket he jangled them as they made small ringing noises. "Maybe I should go make sure everything's in order before we begin." Getting up Minato stretched out any kinks he had before teleporting to the training grounds.

As he arrived he looked around the training grounds, nothing seemed to be out of order. The three posts were still standing and the Memorial Stone had nothing broken and no new names had been put into it. Minato sighed as he thought to himself. 'Maybe it's just nerves is all. It'll be fine. They'll do great. You'll do great.' As Minato tried to calm himself down he suddenly heard crying. He looked to the forest in the direction to where the crying was coming from and became very curious, along with being a little worried.
"Is that a baby? What's a baby doing out here? No one but shinobi should be out here?" This didn't feel right as Minato went into full shinobi mode. Running into the woods he made sure to make as little noise as possible and stayed in the shadows in case this was a trap of some kind. Hearing the cries getting closer Minato noticed a clearing ahead, and more importantly, a person. Staying out of sight Minato watched as he saw a cloaked figure in front of a tree. Sitting at the base of the tree was a little girl, Minato guessed no older than two at most, with spiky blond hair that Minato thought looked oddly similar to his own hair. The little girl was crying and hiccuping as she looked up at the figure. Minato noticed the figure bring out a trench knife as they spoke, their voice that of a man's, sounding exhausted and hurt.
"You don't deserve to exist anymore. I killed them all and yet you're still around. Not anymore. Once you die I'll finally be FREE!" The man brought down their blade as Minato sprung into action. With all his speed he grabbed the baby and just nearly dodged the knife from stabbing his leg. Tripping, Minato held the baby as he tumbled and slammed his back into a tree knocking the wind out of him. The baby cried harder as she was startled by all of this.
"What you're alive, but how…no! You won't keep haunting me!" The man yelled as he ran at Minato with his knife. Minato was still winded as he only narrowly avoided being stabbed in the throat. Getting to his feet, Minato made some distance from the man as he held the baby who continued to cry. Minato dodged the man's attacks as he tried to stab both him and the baby.
'I need to get an opening!' Minato thought as his back was now against another tree. Realizing he was in trouble Minato grabbed one of his special three pronged kunai and threw it at the man who dodged it, though Minato noticed that his movements were very slow, as the man went for another stab. Now however his knife hit something only for the man to see it hit the tree, Minato suddenly gone. The man was terrified as he knew what came next. Turning he heard the sound of a vortex of wind as Minato was running up behind him with a swirling ball of chakra in his right hand, the girl no longer in Minato's arms. The man panicked but it was too late to do anything as the ball of chakra slammed into his stomach.
"Rasengan!" Minato shouted as the cloaked man was sent flying through the tree behind him. He breathed heavily, much of his organs were damaged as he looked at Minato who was running at him with a kunai in hand. Looking behind Minato he saw the girl sitting next to a tree as with the last of his strength he grabbed another knife and threw it at her. Minato saw this as he moved and intercepted the knife, smacking it so it missed its target, hitting a tree to his left instead. Running full speed Minato ran at the man and stabbed him in the chest. The man grunted before slumping over. Minato let him drop to the ground, the man's body now lifeless. Looking over the body Minato looked to his head which was still covered by his hood. Going to see who this man was Minato suddenly heard the baby girl cry again as he looked at her and then ran to her to make sure she was OK.
The girl was terrified as she cried. Minato ran to her and crouched to be at her level, his voice now much more calm as to try to sooth her. "Hey it's ok. It's alright don't be scared." The girls crying slowed down as she looked up at him. Minato was shocked as he finally got a good look at her. She was young, very young. Minato expected she couldn't be older than a year and a half old at best, and even then she looked small, unhealthily so. She had hair that was just like his but her eyes were violet, almost like Kushina's now that he thought of it. She also had three scars on each side of her face that reminded him of a fox's whiskers. She was also wearing pajamas that looked quite big on her. Looking her over he didn't see anything that looked broken and no blood was on her which was definitely a good thing to him. She looked at him, tears still running down her face as she began to cry again. Minato knew she had to have been traumatized by all that's happened as he went to try to pick her up. She didn't allow that as she seemed terrified of him.
"Hey it's ok. You don't have to worry, I'm here. I won't let that man hurt you, I promise." The baby looked at him as he quietly talked to her. Reaching out again to pick her up Minato hoped she wouldn't push him away this time. Luckily she didn't as he picked her up and brought her close to him. The baby's crying lessened as she clung to his Jonin flak jacket as Minato rubbed circles into her back to comfort her. Looking back at where the man's body was, Minato realized that it wasn't there. This startled him as he saw that his kunai was now in a pile of blood as he walked up to the blood and picked up his kunai. Looking around he didn't see any trace of the man as Minato kept the baby close to him. "This isn't good." Minato immediately teleports away, not wanting to continue this fight while the baby is with him.
