Remember, I cannot change a character to become out of character. I learned my lesson years ago whenever I received comments on my Sonic fanfics telling me that I make the characters out of character. They all have to be in character. But sometimes a character interacting with a crossover character can cause changes in them. For example, changing Chloe or Lila into a nice character is way too out of character without their nasty personality. No, I cannot do that either. And someone on PM wants me to have Chloe or Queen Bee return and fall in love with Sonic. That's way out of line and I cannot do that at all. Chloe has no heart or soul to love anyone. A human can't fall in a mobian like that. That's just wrong and totally a complete fantasy than real writing.
Rena Rouge and Carapace teaming up with Tails and Knuckles at the Sky Sanctuary with some ruins but for the teens, they seem uncomfortable at how high it is in the sky but they have to be brave.
"So, you're the last of the porcupines?" Rena Rouge asked.
"Echidna, fox lady. And yes, I'm the last of my kind" Knuckles corrected her, "What is with you humans calling me and Sonic porcupines?"
"Well, you both got quills," Carapace said.
"Yes, but echidnas lay eggs," Knuckles said.
"Dude, we never met talking mutant animals because they don't exist in our world. We are still processing it" Carapace said.
"In our world, animals don't talk but they do feel," Rena Rouge said, observing the ruins.
"You see that up there? That's Angel Island" Tails showed the floating island.
"Ladybug mentioned about it earlier. It's a floating island" Rena Rouge said.
"The Master Emerald keeps it afloat. The first time I had to fight Mecha Sonic to reclaim the Master Emerald while it slowly descended" Knuckles said.
"And a true story" Tails said.
"Incredible," Carapace said, climbing up some blocks.
"I don't understand how you guys have incredible one superpower but can also jump to great lengths" Knuckles used his knuckles to climb.
"It comes with the miraculous. You thought I would be too slow like a turtle?" Carapace ended with a joke.
"Perhaps. Now I see two foxes" Knuckles grunting with effort by climbing.
"One that can fly of course" Tails chuckled carrying Rena Rouge.
"Time for a hover" Carapace switches to the green wisp on his wisp gun.
HOVER
And it formed like a green umbrella, "Wow, Mary Poppins style!" Carapace chuckled.
Once on top of a ruin, they looked for any sign of the chaos emerald.
"At least the atmosphere is breathable," Rena Rouge said.
"Yeah, that's fortunate," Carapace said.
"Why build such a place in the sky?" Rena Rouge asked before getting lower down by Tails.
"My ancestors built it long ago and only I was allowed to enter here. There are many secrets I've yet to discover around here" Knuckles said.
"Is surprisingly amazing with no ability to fly and build something like this in the sky. It's like your ancestors were trying to hide something" Carapace said.
"Yes. The Master Emerald is too dangerous to misuse" Knuckles said.
"No wonder that crazy lunatic wants it so badly. It's like the same with our bad guy wanting the miraculous" Carapace said.
"Is it true he builds robots?" Rena Rouge asked Tails.
"Yep. He prefers machines over humans and mobians" Tails said.
"Jeez, that maniac really needs a real hobby. Robots would destroy all life on Earth. We have a friend that respects Mother Nature and wants to be an environmental activist" Rena Rouge said.
"You do?" Tails asked.
"Yeah, Polymouse is her name," Rena Rouge said.
"Really? What's her power?" Tails asked.
"She can multiply and shrink" Rena Rouge answered.
"Like mice. That explains it" Knuckles said.
They came to a rail that the heroes grind on like skating it, "Dude this is awesome!" Carapace shouted as he grinded.
"WOOOOOOOO!" Rena Rouge cried in joy after her boyfriend.
"This is like a video game!" Carapace exclaimed.
"Ever felt so alive?!" Tails grinds after them.
"Dude, this is a blast!" Carapace said before coming to the next floating ruins.
"Great!" Tails then jumps off the track and lands safely.
"I gotta admit, you are so young, and yet you have strong brains," Rena Rouge said.
"Thanks" Tails smiled.
"And you all don't go to high school at all?" Carapace said.
"No, for instance, most of us can drive cars at a young age," Tails said.
"Sick. It's like your world has no rules for underage. In our world it has lots of rules for children" Carapace said.
"Yes, but I don't use handguns," Tails said.
"So you all do saving the day with the blue guy?" Rena Rouge said.
"Yeah, aside from chilling out, eating chilidogs at times, flying, and working at the workshop. What can I say? Sonic and I are like brothers" Tails said with a smile.
"Ironic since foxes in my world prey on hedgehogs" Carapace pointed out.
"They do?" Tails said.
"Yes, but in rare cases they eat food together," Rena Rouge said.
"Sonic once said that hedgehogs don't make good snacks due to choking hazards of their quills," Knuckles said.
"It's kinda true. In our world, hedgehogs do curl in a ball but they are mostly nocturnal at night" Carapace said.
"Right, but let's focus on this mission" Knuckles got impatient.
"Knuckles, there's no danger in the sky. We are just getting to know each other" Tails said.
"I just have the feeling we four are not alone" Knuckles looks around.
"He's got a point. What Lila did to manipulate us was just a new experience we learned. Who knows what she's capable of now to get revenge on all of us for seeing through her lies" Carapace said.
"Just as I was manipulated by Eggman," Knuckles said.
They came to the altar of the ruins where the chaos emerald could be.
"It should be right here," Tails said.
"Should we be worried about traps?" Carapace asked.
"Be careful" Knuckles looks after the traps.
"I'm the master of protection like a turtle. My shield is very strong" Carapace said.
"Hold on. My illusions can do this" Rena Rouge plays her flute, "Mirage!" She creates an illusion of Sonic.
One of the traps suddenly activated and the illusion Sonic dodged every trap that's been activated. One boulder rolled down towards the illusion and went right through it and the illusion Sonic disappeared since it got touched.
"Neat trick there" Tails was impressed.
"Thanks," Rena Rouge said and heard her miraculous beeping since she used her power, "I need to feed my kwami," She told the mobians.
"Tails, cover her. Knuckles and I will get the emerald" Carapace said.
"Got it," Tails said while Alya fed Trixx.
"Okay, Knuckles. With my tough shell like a turtle and your knuckles, we can get through" Carapace said.
"Oh yes!" Knuckles said determined.
Suddenly two flying badniks appeared in front of them. One looked like Rena Rouge while the other looked like Carapace.
"Robot duplicates of me and Rena Rouge!" Carapace gasps.
"I got this!" Knuckles charged to punch Metal Turtle but it deflected it with its own shield.
Metal Rena projectile holograms of itself to confuse Carapace.
"Oh boy! This is bad! Rena! Are you charged?!" Carapace tries to hit the fake ones.
"Fully charged!" Rena Rouge rushed in with Tails.
"I can't make a dent on it!" Knuckles can see they are impenetrable.
"He's copied my shields as well! Lila must have told Eggman!" Carapace figured.
"Then it's time for a wisp gun style!" Rena Rouge said, going to cube mode.
"Time to smash!" She activated it.
CUBE
A blue square appeared on the wispon, making it a melee weapon. Using the cube mode, Rena Rouge swings the wispon at her robotic counterpart's holograms.
"No one copies my only illusions!" Rena Rouge said.
"I got your back, Rena!" Tails aids her.
Knuckles and Carapace still fought against Metal Turtle and it was proven hard to beat it.
"This is getting harder as we throw! Time for a burning mode!" Carapace sets his gun to burst mode.
BURST
And he fires streams of flames at the robot duplicate, "Tell me it's dead!" Carapace made sure not to get too close to the fire.
"It's shields are down!" Knuckles lunged at Metal Turtle and punched it.
Rena Rouge switches to an asteroid mode, "What does this one do?"
ASTEROID
It absorbs the debris to circle around like a Saturn.
"Now we're talking!" Tails grins and with her using the debris at the holograms was able to find the real Metal Rena.
"There! Hit it, Tails!" Rena Rouge said.
Tails spin dashed the robot hard to disable its projector, "That should stop it from using holograms!" Tails said.
"And to make sure this phony is nothing like me. Hyah!" Rena Rouge kicks it off the edge.
Tails dashed at some debris to let it crash onto the robot as it fell, ensuring it wouldn't come back up.
"Hit it harder, Knuckles! It's still moving!" Carapace said.
"YAAAAAGH!" Knuckles kept punching at Metal Turtle.
Then he smashed it at some huge pillar, causing it to fall over and crush the robot.
"Now that's what a real punch is!" Knuckles said.
"Wow! Remind me to never get you mad like that," Carapace said.
"You wouldn't like it when I'm very angry," Knuckles said.
"Because you're red, I know" Carapace fist-bumped him.
"Yep," Knuckles smirked.
"Everyone all right?" Tails asked.
"We're fine," Rena Rouge said.
"Totally okay but never thought we fight actual robots than akumas," Carapace said.
"Well, I hope it was worth fighting them. The Chaos Emerald is now safe" Tails held up the yellow emerald.
"And keep this hidden away from those evil bad guys like Lila and Eggman" Rena Rouge said.
"We can't let it fall into the wrong hands" Tails stuffs it into a bag.
"And we won't. Ladybug always counts on us to use the miraculous for the greater good" Carapace said.
"Excellent" Tails said.
"Tell me why Ladybug gave me this?" Knuckles held out the magical charm.
"So you won't get akumatized by Lila as Chrysalis" Rena Rouge said.
"Ah, I see," Tails said.
"Only positive emotions can protect you," Rena Rouge said.
"Got it," Tails said.
"Ladybug always finds a solution to the problem. That's what makes her so miraculous" Rena Rouge said.
"Yeah, just as Sonic brings us hope" Tails said.
"For a guy that can't swim, he sure loves to run like the wind," Rena Rouge said.
"Yeah, he gotta go fast" Tails chuckled.
