F3: Welcome to chapter 13 of my RWBY. We left off with Blake and company dealing with other matters and waiting for the ferry to arrive to take them to Mistral. Now why don't we catch up with Raven and company. RWBY is property of Rooster Teeth. With that said Let's Get Started.
Volume 5-13: Home.
Ruby stirred a moment as her eyes opened as she wondered where she was but she was still rather woozy as she tried to get up. She got a good look around of where she was as it appears to be some kind of infirmary of some sort.
"Ugh... Penny?" Ruby said with a groan.
"Yes Ruby. What is it that you acquire?" Penny's voice said from her scroll.
"What... happened?" Ruby asked.
"You had over used your semblance along with your aura causing aura exhaustion. Your current aura levels are at forty percent and rising slowly." Penny informed.
"And where are we?" She asked again.
"We are currently in the rebuilt settlement of Kuroyuri. Raven and company had arrived after your message was sent." Penny stated.
"That's good to hear." Ruby sighed in relieve but then remembered that Yang was poisoned from that Tyrian person.
"Wait! What about Yang? Is she alright?" Ruby asked. Before Penny could answer the door revealing a man at the door.
"Ah you're awake. You must've been exhausted kiddo after using your semblance that long." The man said.
"Names Norman Adel. From what I'm guessing you must be Ruby right." Norman said.
"Yes, but how'd you know?" Ruby asked.
"Yang was asking about you to see if you were okay. Gave the town quite a scare when you came barreling through though." Norman replied.
"Sorry about that but does that mean Yang's okay." Ruby said as Norman nodded.
"Yep. Though she going to have a nice scar but she'll live. Any longer and she might not of made it. While I'm here I thought I'd offer you some breakfast." Norman said.
"Wait it's morning already? How long was I out?" Ruby asked.
"Precisely ten hours twenty minutes and forty-two seconds." Penny answered which kind of surprised the older man
"Whoa. Did that come from your scroll?" He asked.
"Yeah, it's rather complicated at the moment but yeah I could go for something to eat I am starving." Ruby said carefully getting out of bed.
"Alright I'll tell the cook to start you up some breakfast then." Norman said before walking away. Ruby was about to walk out as well but Penny stopped her.
"Ruby. A moment if you please." Penny replied.
"Hm. What's wrong Penny?" Ruby asked picking up her scroll.
"I've just researched on Norman Adel and I would like to inform you that he is the husband to the deceased Coco Adel." Penny informed which surprised Ruby.
"What? But if she's supposed to be dead then why did we see her throughout the tournament and on top of Beacon Tower?" Ruby asked.
"I'd exercise caution Ruby." Penny warned.
"Okay." Ruby said taking the warning as she left the room and walked to where Yang and the others are.

Meanwhile with Nora and her friend Birna the two were sharing laughs together as Nora was telling her friend all the things that went down at Beacon over some lemonade.
"You've got to be kidding me! You swallowed an entire stack of pancakes and not throw up from all that. That is insane girl!" Birna said.
"Oh yeah! Though not as crazy as the other teams did. We had this grimm invasion on the town and we went to help out Ruby's team and things were getting way out of hand in a hurry and then next thing I know Blake and Weiss coming riding in on Sybers. Sybers! I'm sure I've rode on an Ursa during initiation but that's just on another level." Nora replied taking a sip of her drink.
"Must've been nice." Birna said setting her drink down. Nora only stared at her friend a moment before she continued.
"I mean to make friends. Go on adventures. Find that right person to be with the rest of your life. Sounds like fun." Birna said almost sounding like she was sad.
Nora sat her drink down not before gazing off toward the town of all the people that were in it.
"Yeah. I mean being with Ren he was... kind of like my rock you know. Someone I could always rely on incase things got tough which was most of the time then any. Especially after that thing showed up here." Nora replied as Birna nodded silently almost knowing what Nora was mentioning.
"Whatever happened to it? The grimm I mean. It could still be out there you know." Birna replied.
Nora only seemed to smirk "I doubt there's another Nuckleave." Nora said.
"Hm? Why's that?" Birna questioned curiously.
"Cause the one that was terrorizing the town years ago was taken care of." Nora answered with a smirk.
"Really? By who?" Birna asked again.
"By a really skilled huntress. I can't recall her name but she kind of looked like an adult version of Ruby in a sense." Nora said.
"Ah you mean the black-haired girl with the silver eyes. Interesting. She never told you, her name." Birna said as Nora shook her head.
"Nope. Neither me or Ren for that matter. She took care of us till we were older than she took off. Don't know where she went. I've wanted to thank her for taking care of me and Ren but guess I can't get the chance if I don't know where to look." Nora replied.
Birna had a thought in her head almost like it was something she wanted to ask Nora but not sure how she wanted to respond.
"Hey Nora. I know I'm probably only spit balling this but... have you thought of staying here?" Birna asked which seemed to have caught Nora off guard.
"Me? Staying here?" Nora thought as she began to process other thoughts in her head. One half of the team is dead as it was only her and Jaune that were left so they weren't even a full team. She could stay here and live a nice peaceful life with Birna and her family as they would more than likely accept her into their family. But she also thought of where would that leave Jaune. No team. Alone.
She knows that Jaune is still hurt about losing Pyrrha and her about Ren so if she left then Jaune would be all alone.
"As much as I would want to stay. I have somewhere me and the others have to be." Nora replied in which Birna smiled at almost expecting that kind of answer.
"Yep, figured as much but remember this. You and your friend are always welcome here." Birna replied as she drank from her cup.
Nora smiled as she noticed Neo walking towards them.
"Oh, hey Neo. Something up?" Nora asked. Neo nodded as she used her semblance to turn into Ruby.
"She's awake. About time." Nora replied as she got up from her seat.
"We'll talk some more. Go check up on your friend." Birna said as Nora smiled at her before following Neo to where Ruby was at.
Ruby was currently chowing down on a plate of pancakes that their cook made with Yang sitting right next to her.
"Take it easy Ruby don't need you to choke on them." Yang replied as Ruby finished off another pancake.
"Sorry it's just that these are so good." Ruby said with glee.
"I'll take that as a compliment." Nyx replied smiling at Ruby.
Though Ruby still remained on guard after what Penny told her as she was quick to put the pieces together about Nyx being Coco's daughter.
"So Raven told me that you all are heading to Mistral. Any particular reason why you're heading up their?" Nyx asked.
"Um... well. There is a good reason for that. We're mainly trying to get toward Haven Academy." Ruby replied.
"Isn't that academy supposed to be closed right now after what happened at Beacon." Norman said.
"Yeah, but we have reason to believe the people that were involved in the attack will go after Haven Academy next." Jaune answered.
"That does sound logical but who else could be involved other than the White Fang?" Nyx asked which made Ruby flinch at that cause if she revealed of who it was then they'll most likely be confused at what they could say.
"Wish we knew. A teammate of ours might know who else but we can't get a hold of her." Yang said.
"That's a bummer." Nyx replied before remembering something that she told Raven during the morning.
"Oh yes I think your aunt has something she wants to tell you. Something I know you'll want to hear." Nyx replied.
Ruby then looked to Raven with a questioning look "What does she mean?" Ruby asked with Yang having a small smile on her face as she waited for Raven to answer.
Raven got up from her seat, walked over to the teens side and placed her hands on her niece's shoulder.
"It's your mother Ruby... she's alive. Summer is alive." Raven said a happy smile on her face.
Ruby froze for a moment not sure what she was talking about allowing her words to sink in.
"When you came rushing in last night you looked exactly like her except shorter so I figured you might've been related to the woman. Put the pieces together." Nyx replied.
Ruby finally was able to let the words sink in that her mother was alive as she spoke.
"D-Do you know w-where my mom is?" Ruby asked.
Nyx grinned a little "Last I check she was flying toward Menagerie along with Blake and Iona. Both looked pretty okay too." Nyx replied catching Yang's' attention as well.
"Hold on Blake and Iona were here too? But why head to Menagerie?" Yang asked.
Ruby then recalled something that Iona told them when they were back at Beacon.
"Wait. Iona mentioned that Menagerie was where she lived. Blake came from there too." Ruby replied.
"And they both decided to head home. That does make sense but Summer going with them would that be a bit of a risk." Jaune said.
"I'm sure that Summer knows that and there's someone she knows that is a friend of hers. She was an old classmate of ours back in Beacon during the old days." Raven replied.
"Though I must say that the town looks better than it was before. How long did it take you to rebuild the whole town?" Jaune asked.
"A couple years actually. We had some trouble that was a constant threat to our town since we didn't have any huntsmen. A rouge group calling themselves the Red Hand. Nyx here went to Argus to find help to deal with them and Summer just so happen to follow them here as well." Norman said.
"That sounds pretty bad. Were they dealt with?" Ruby asked.
"Yep. Blake, Iona, Senka, and Summer helped get them arrested by Mistral authorities and are more than likely rotting in a jail cell right now." Nyx stated.
Just then both Neo and Nora returned to the house as they stepped inside the living room.
"Ah Nora there you are. Where'd you go?" Jaune asked.
"Just... spent some time with an old friend." Nora replied as Neo sat down by Yang.
"So, what do you think of Kuroyuri Nora? Like it so far?" Nyx asked.
"It's... just like how I remembered it with a few extra additions." Nora commented almost feeling the nostalgia of her old town.
"Are you from here?" Norman asked.
"I... was. My parents died from a grimm attack on their way here to the settlement. Imagine me orphaned at five years old having to survive." Nora said.
"I'm sorry to hear about your parents Nora. It was probably rough without them." Yang added.
"Yeah... it wasn't till about a year later I met Ren but I was too scared to talk to him but that year was also when... that showed up." Nora mentioned.
"A grimm?" Nyx asked.
"A Nuckaleave. It killed everyone there including Ren parents. I think someone came there and killed it before it could get to us." Nora replied.
"That sounded like a tough grimm to beat. To think that a single grimm could do that much damage to a single village." Yang said.
"So... what's the plan now?" Ruby asked as they wondered what they should do.
"We still need to get over to Mistral and Haven Academy. Though I'm still not sure how Yang is feeling after getting all that poison out of her." Raven replied.
"Mom I should be fine." Yang said.
"I think your mother is right. Taking all that poison out of you wasn't an easy task. I'd rest for another day just be sure. I don't want to risk you reopening that wound." Nyx stated.
Yang only groaned but she understood what she meant since her aura was still taking it's time to heal.
"I say about tomorrow the wound should be completely healed." Norman stated.
"Feeling free to look around the village. If you need a place to wash up there is a bathhouse nearby." Nyx informed.
"Thanks. Honestly we all could use it after the amount of walking we've been doing." Jaune added.
So with nothing much to do the group of six decided to split up and check out the town. Ruby and Neo decided to head toward the bathhouse while the rest decided to venture about the town.
Nora however separated from the group and decided to check out the rest of the town on her own taking in every inch of the place.
Her gaze was almost everywhere she can look taking in the sights and sounds. Nora missed this town but she knew she had a job to do and that was to get to Haven Academy before things could get worse.
"Yoah Nora." Birna's voice came out from behind her and she noticed that she was running toward her and it was rather in a hurry.
"Whoa their girl is something wrong?" Nora asked.
"Sorry. I've been talking with some of other people here and they said that some of the others haven't returned yet and they're getting a little worried." Birna replied.
"Really. What were they doing?" Nora asked.
"They went into the woods nearby something about gathering firewood for their fireplace since winter is right around the corner." Birna replied.
Nora thought a moment "Ruby and Neo are mostly in the bathhouse. Yang is still recovering from her wound. I don't know what Jaune and Raven are doing. So guess I'm on my own." Nora thought before she spoke.
"Okay so where are they?" Nora asked.
"They should still be in the woods since they haven't come back yet. I hope that they are okay." Birna answered.
"Don't worry. I'll go find them and bring them back." Nora replied as she went to gather her weapon so that she could go and find the people that were in the woods.
After gathering her weapon Nora was given directions of where the people went to gather wood and hopefully she could locate them before whatever finds them does before marching into the forest.
She was in the forest for about ten minutes as she was trying to track the people that were missing. Nora noticed tracks that were leading further into the forest and hopefully it will lead her to the people that needed help.
Not a moment later she heard a loud scream coming from further in as she ran toward the source. She saw ahead of her a group of four people as the man what she assumed she was the father trying to protect his family with was the mother along with ten year old boy and a nine year old girl.
In front of them were two giant ursa's in front of them as they were circling the family preparing to strike at them. Nora had to act fast decided to attack them before the ursas could.
"Hey!" Nora shouted getting the grimms and the families attention.
"Trying picking on me!" Nora shouted switching her weapon to its hammer function.
The grimm roared at her and charged at Nora just like she wanted. Once one of them was close she swung her hammer as hard as she could hitting the ursa on the head which only fired the grenade shell in it blasting the grimm back. Then using her momentum she swung at the other ursa leading to the same result.
"Go on! Get out of here!" Nora shouted at the family as the father picked up the boy as the family ran out of sight.
Nora then turned her attention back to the grimm in front of her.
"Alright you two. Who want's to go first?" Nora said angrily raising her hammer to attack.
The two grimm weren't very happy that they were denied their prey so they had to deal with there little problem first. They both charged at Nora before pouncing at her hoping to crush the huntress flat.
Nora rolled out of the way from them as they crashed landed where she once was knocking up some dust. She decided to get some distance between her and them so she switched back to her grenade launcher mode and fired two shells at them as they exploded on contact. While it did hurt them it also made them more angry at her. The two grimm split apart to try and flank her as she managed to dodge one of them but the other got the jump on her managing to slash at her cutting into her aura but also her clothing cutting into her shirt.
"Oh you two want to dance! Then let's dance!" Nora shouted as she charged at the grimm in her hammer mode as one of them leaped at her attempting to bite into her. Nora saw this and swung her hammer at the ursa hitting directly in the stomach as an explosion from her grenade was enough to destroy the grimm evaporating it into dust.
The other one caught her off guard swiping at her blind side as she felt her aura taking another hit from behind her ripping the clothing from her back.
She responded rather quickly and attacked the grimm behind her morphing her weapon back to grenade launcher and fired the remaining shells directly at the grimm killing it on the spot.
"Okay... that deals with them." Nora said a little exhausted from the fight as she made her way back to town.
=SPIR=
Ruby and Neo were currently relaxing in the bathhouse that Norman said they could use for the time that they are in Kuroyuri and they were taking full advantage of it. Ruby was already in a towel and was taking in the steam of the bath. Neo was actually in the bath full submerged in the water as a towel wasn't as visible.
Ruby let out a relaxed sigh "Ah... this is exactly what I needed am I right." Ruby said as Neo nodded in agreement completely relaxed.
Then a thought came into Ruby's mind as she looked at Neo.
"Hey... aside from that woman we met back at that prep school. Do you have any other family members?" Ruby asked.
Neo shook her head as she held up one finger and then pointed toward herself.
"Oh. You're a single child. That must've been hard for you." Ruby said but Neo shrugged as she made a moment of running with her fingers.
"You... ran away from home. I see... but then who took care of you?" Ruby asked.
Neo didn't make any motions this time expect she pointed to the bowler hat that was nearby in which Ruby immediately knew who she meant.
"Roman... he adopted you didn't he?" Ruby said as Neo only nodded in response.
Then it just hit Ruby for a moment as she remembered rescuing Audra from that one gang in Vale as Roman said that she was his daughter too.
"So it was you, Roman, and Audra right?" Ruby asked but this time she shook her head as she held up four digits.
"Wait four of you then who's the other?" Ruby asked.
Neo responded by using her semblance and turned into Rina right in front of her which kinda surprised her.
"Rina?" Ruby said then it just made her realize something. Rina mentioned that she was abandoned by her real father and someone else picked her up then that person must've been Roman.
"So... Rina also got adopted by him too right." Ruby said as Neo nodded as she turned back into her normal self before giving a rather saddened look on her face.
"You're worried about her aren't you. Not able to get a hold of her." Ruby added as Neo could only nod.
"What about Audra or Roman? Have you tried them?" Ruby asked but Neo pointed back to the hat before making a slashing motion on her throat which Ruby immediately got.
"Oh... I'm... sorry to hear that. He may have been this big criminal and all but he was a good guy." Ruby said as Neo nodded a tear escaping her as she hugged herself.
Ruby went and gently lowered herself into the water before wrapping her arms around Neo hugging her close.
"C'mon. I think we've been in here enough. Don't you think." Ruby replied. Neo nodded as the two of them got out of the bath and began to dry themselves off and then left the bathhouse entirely.

Meanwhile Yang and Raven found a nice spot near the village that was an open field as the two stood across from each other as they appeared to be ready for a spar as Yang was in a fighters stance as was her mother.
"Do we have to do this now mom?" Yang asked.
"Yes. You may have recovered but we don't know how effective that leg will be in a fight. So this is the best way to see how it will fair." Raven said as she then charged at Yang throwing the first punch. Yang sidestepped the punch and quickly threw a punch at her mother but she caught it in her hand before it could land. Raven shifted and grabbed underneath Yangs arm and attempted to throw Yang over her shoulder actually tossing her a few feet away.
Yang shifted her weight as if to land on her feet as she landed on her right leg however some pain shot through Yangs right leg making her reaction a little slower. Raven took advantage of the flinch attempting to kick Yang. She caught her mothers kick but this time leg sweeped her other leg causing her to trip and land on her back giving Yang time to get to a vertical base.
Raven kicked up from her position and quickly charged at Yang again throwing punch after punch as Yang did her best to either dodge or block each one forcing Yang to backpedal each one but Raven can tell that she was starting to favor her right side. Just then Raven feint a punch instead she kicked at Yangs right side making her wince from the kick as she was forced to one knee as she held her right thigh.
"Yeah it's just what I thought. The wound and poison maybe gone but your muscle hasn't recovered yet." Raven said holding a hand out to her daughter as she took it but with a small limp.
"C'mon. We'll wash up in the bathhouse for bit. Some mother, daughter time will do us some good." Raven replied.
"Yeah. That would be nice." Yang said as they both walked out of the open field and walked into town. However before they could they noticed Nora was coming into town with some of her clothing looked rather torn from the looks of it.
"Nora you okay? What happened to you girl?" Yang asked.
"A few people got lost in the woods and were almost grimm food. Luckily it was only a few ursas so it wasn't that much of an issue." Nora replied before getting a better look at her clothing.
"Though... I could probably go for a different change of clothes. I'll see if Nyx has any I could use." Nora said as she made her way toward the house while Yang and Raven only stared at the ginger haired girl.
"Let's leave her be. After your leg completely heals we'll head out in the morning." Raven said as the two continued to their destination as they made their way to the bathhouse.
