F3: Welcome to chapter 14. Last time we caught up with Ruby and company that were in Kuroyuri who is taking a little longer due to Yangs injury. Meanwhile Weiss and the others are checking out the train station about an unknown energy. RWBY is property of Rooster Teeth. With that said Let's Get Started.

Volume 5-14: Unexpected.

Weiss and company began making their way toward the train station as they wanted to figure out what this energy source was or if it was a grimm so that it could be dealt with quickly. It was a small walk from Sienna's house to the train station that lasted about ten minutes as they would soon arrive at the train station.

The train station itself is large that had multiple auto sliding doors allowing travels to enter and exit as they pleased but right now it was rather abandoned and quiet as they took in the view of the station itself.

"It's quite big for a train station." Oscar replied admiring the place.

"Yeah. It can get you from here to Mistral in no time. Though we better head inside and check it out." Weiss said as the four made their way to the front doors. Though the doors didn't open due not having power so Pepper had to pry the doors open so they could go in and out of the train station.

Inside it their were rows of seats for people could wait for the train and reception desks where they would get either information or tickets for the train but right now it looks all abandoned.

"Yep. Not getting any creepy vibes here at all." Pepper said sarcastically.

"From what the commander told me the source of the energy is on the tracks itself. So let's make our way their first." Weiss stated.

"Hold on. Don't the tracks go both ways. The source of the energy could be coming from either way. I think we should split up and look down each direction." Adam suggested.

"Alright. Let's first get to the tracks and remember to be careful." Weiss replied as the group of four made their way toward the tracks. Much to their luck the train wasn't their at the time as it was more likely at another place along the tracks so the tracks were bare.

"Okay. Pepper and Oscar you two head right. Adam and I will go left." Weiss stated as they carefully go onto the tracks and went their separate directions.

"Remember look for a bright glow!" Weiss called out to remind them.

Pepper and Oscar went to the right following the tracks seeing if their was anything strange that was down them.

"So... Pepper, your relationship with Weiss. How'd that happen between the two of you?" Oscar asked.

"It happened a long time ago. Me and my family were taken from our home to Atlas to work in their mines. And well... we pretty much became their property." Pepper replied moving her scarf a little revealing an eight pointed snowflake on her neck.

"We were branded when we got their. Working in the cold mines wasn't exactly an ideal childhood. Even after I was forteen I became a maid and Weiss's bodyguard so to speak. Eventually when we both became seventeen we made our escape from Atlas." Pepper replied.

"That's... a lot for one person to take. What about your parents?" Oscar asked.

"Dad... was shot when I was five. I thought mom died when the mine collasped but she made it out and was in Menagerie." Pepper stated.

"Wow... that must've hard on you all that long without your parents. How'd you get by? I mean there must've been a few times that you were..." Oscar said almost hesitant to say another word.

"Beaten." Pepper finished for him as he nodded.

"Yeah. Not going to lie about that. I took a few beatings for Weiss, some of those left a few scars but I wouldn't leave Weiss behind." Pepper replied as the two continued on while Oscar had some thoughts in his head but focused on the mission.

Meanwhile Weiss and Adam were going down the left side of the tracks luckily they both could see down the dark tunnel.

"So again what are we looking for?" Adam asked.

"From what Cordovin stated their is a energy source on the tracks and she wants the source found. Apparently it's causing a commotion to stop the trains from functioning. The faster we locate it the source the quicker the trains become operational." Weiss answered as they continued exploring the tracks.

After about ten minutes of walking the two haven't encountered anything yet but they were getting really close to the end of the tracks.

"Why do I get the feeling of this being a wild goose chase." Adam stated.

"Yeah..." Weiss replied but then suddenly she heard something ahead of them.

"Hold on. I hear something up ahead." She added as they carefully walked forward with Weiss having a hand on her sword just incase it was a grimm.

However that wasn't the case when they saw a bright light ahead that looked similar to a fire as they approached the light.

As they approached they saw the fire ahead of them but their wasn't anyone their which made them rather curious cause they saw bags of miscellanious items but mainly food and camping gear.

Also on the left appears to be a man dug hole in the wall that was enough to fit two to three people with a large cloth covering it.

"This is odd. There's a fire here but... I don't see anyone." Weiss stated.

"Yeah. Nobody here." Adam added but still remained vigilant so that they weren't jumped.

"Don't count on it!" A female voice replied as a figure came and jumped at them from the side as Weiss nearly dodged an attack from their aggressor.

In front of them was a girl about her age with short black hair and green eyes. She wears a dark red top with grey belted segments on it and a black cloth top, partially revealing her breasts. She wears dark, dull red shorts with black lining, a black belt, and a slit up the side with red lacing, two belts on the upper leg, and a pair of dull, dark red boots with black and white accenting.

On her wrists are a pair of two long bladed claws as she looked ready to strike again. However Weiss seemed to notice that the girl had a bandages on her upper left arm and on her right leg almost and she was slightly struggling to keep herself up. Surprisingly she has a black fox tail that was fluffed up in defense.

Adam had a hand on her weapon almost ready to attack when Weiss put a hand in front of him and shook her head.

"Our apologies but we didn't know that someone was down here." Weiss said trying to maybe reason with this girl.

"Oh really. Likely story Schnee!" The girl shouted catching Weiss off guard.

"Yeah. I know who you are so don't try and reason with me girl!" The girl shouted almost ready to attack again.

"Listen we don't want to fight." Weiss said as she took decided to remove her weapon and carefully placed it down in front of her.

Adam figured out what she was doing and had done the same placing Wilt on the ground.

This made the girl lower her stance but still had her weapons ready.

"Okay... so what brought you here in the first place?" The girl asked.

"We heard that there was an energy source shutting down any traveling by train and we came to investigate. We weren't expecting this though." Weiss answered.

"Well that energy source is none of your dang business." The girl replied rather offended by what Weiss said.

"What's your name then? You know mine and I have a feeling you know him here so what's yours." Weiss replied.

The girl contemplated about saying anything more but figured she might as well since she wasn't getting out of this. She folded her weapons back before speaking again.

"Militia Malachite." Militia introduced herself.

The name sounded a little familiar to Weiss but just before she was about to speak a loud coughing sound came from behind the cloth which made Militia worry as she almost sprinted inside as Adam and Weiss followed keeping their weapons just outside.

Much to their surprise inside it was styled like it was some sort of hideout as their was a two small beds on the side along with a small skilled like over.

In small bed is another girl with black hair and with black fox ears but her eyes were currently closed and she is currently covered up by heavy blankets with a rag on her head. Militia looked like she was fixing something on the skillet that looked like soup.

"What in the... what is all this?" Weiss asked.

"A shelter. From the looks of it this was used during the wars to hide from Mistral soldiers. Surprised that everything is still intact." Adam added.

"This was used as a get away. I uncovered it a while ago when we were dealing with grimm." Militia replied.

"We? You mean you and..." Weiss said gesturing toward the girl in the bed.

"My twin. Melanie Malachite. She's... very ill." Militia added as she pour the soup into a small bowl and walked over to her sisters side and sat down on her knees. She gently nudged her sister to wake her as her eyes opened just barely revealing a pair a green eyes.

Weiss remembered that Yang did mentioned a set of twin in a bar she went to frequently so she figured that these are the two.

Militia then took the spoon in her hands and dipped it into the soup pulling the liquid out. She then blew on it to cool it down before presenting it to her sister as she slowly opened her mouth to swallow the soup. She did this a view times while Adam and Weiss watched from the side.

After a while Melanie had her fill before closing her eyes again and went back to sleep.

"What kind of illness does she have?" Weiss asked.

Militia was silent for a minute almost hesitant of what to say to them but decided to tell them anyway.

"It's pneumonia. She's very weak and I don't have any medicine to help treat it." Militia stated.

"That's not a good thing. If it's not treated quickly it'll get worse from there. How long has she had this?" Adam asked.

"Um... about a week now but it hasn't let up since and I'm worried it's going to get worse." Militia answered.

"Have you tried moving her to a hospital?" Weiss questioned.

Militia shook her head "No. What she needs is rest but what she needs is some medicine to help her heal faster." She added.

Weiss hummed a moment and remembered there was a pharmacy back in town but they needed to deal with the other problem first and hopefully Oscar and Pepper were having a better time than they are.

"Though quick question. Have you spotted anything else in tunnel? A grimm maybe?" Weiss asked.

"Hm... now that you mentioned it. I heard some kind of growling coming from the other direction. It scared me a little bit so I hid down here to avoid it." Militia said.

"How'd you get down here anyway?" Weiss asked.

"Like your friend here said. These were used during the war and my father actually knew about some of them in Argus and how to get in and out of them without anyone knowing. Me and my sister came through a late snowstorm which caused her pneumonia. I gathered what blankets I could to keep her warm and something warm to drink but that's as best I can do." Militia replied.

Weiss gave a concerned look on her face cause she would know the effects of what it could do to you. So she decided she would tackle this problem.

"Okay. So you need medicine but you don't want to leave her by herself. Just leave that to me." Weiss stated which kinda surprised the twin.

"Are you sure? Why would you help me out?" Militia asked.

"Is it so bad to help someone that needs it? You need the help and I'm here to offer it." Weiss replied as Militia had a thoughtful look on her face as she thought it over before she nodded accepting Weiss's help.

"There is a pharmacy in town that have medicine to help treat it." Militia mentioned.

"Great. If anything I'll have Adam stay here and I'll go find it." Weiss added.

"Wait Weiss. That'll leave Pepper and Oscar dealing with a possible grimm attack on the other side. I should go and join them to make sure they're okay." Adam suggested.

Weiss nodded at this "Okay. You go help them and I'll make sure to be quick with the medicine." Weiss replied and just before she left Militia stopped her a moment.

"Thank you for helping me." Militia said as Weiss returned it with a smile.

"Anytime." Weiss replied as she and Adam left Militia knowing that they would return.

Meanwhile on the other side of the tracks Pepper and Oscar haven't found any form of an energy source and they were starting to run out of track.

"I think we're reaching the end of the tracks and we still haven't come across anything but there has to be something here." Oscar replied.

"Yeah and it's giving me a very uneasy feeling about this." Pepper replied.

And she was right as their was nothing in front of them but just before they reached the end of the tracks Pepper heard something ahead of them and she immediately readied herself for anything that was up ahead.

"I see something up ahead." Pepper said readying herself.

Up ahead was a bright green glow that seemed to pulse and it gave off a rather creepy vibe that made Pepper shiver a little just from the glow.

"Oscar. Get behind me." She ordered as she activated her gauntlets. Just then a small tremor shook the ground beneath them as something burst up from the ground.

It was a centipede like grimm with black skin and several legs the went along its body. It has the traditional grimm bone mask with red line and beady yellow eyes. However on the front at rather sharp pincers on the front that its not afraid to use on them. On top of its head is an antenna with a green orb attached to it.

"It's an antlion!" Oscar shouted as the grimm lunged at them with its pincers as they both jumped out of the way.

"I'm guessing this must've been the energy source they were sensing but it's really just a grimm." Pepper said as she waited for it attack them again.

The grimm coiled back and did exactly what Pepper predicted and lunged at them. This time she side stepped it and delivered a hard punch to its skull but it had little effect as it only made the grimm mad.

The grimm shifted its head to the right slamming its head directly into Pepper stomach knocking the wind out of her hitting the wall behind her.

It then focused it's attention toward Oscar like an easy prey.

"I suggest that we run." Ozpin replied.

"But what about Pepper? We can't leave her behind." Oscar replied.

"Yes but I cannot allow you to get yourself hurt as you have no combat training." Ozpin mentioned.

He was right and Oscar knew but that still didn't mean he could just leave Pepper their but maybe he could lure it away allowing Pepper to attack it from behind.

However just before he could inact his plan the grimm was faster and lunged at him with its pincers. Oscar prepared for the worse to happen but then he heard a snapping sound as the grimm fell to the ground and had a hard time getting up.

He turned back to Pepper who was back to her feet and looked like she just used her semblance to slow it down.

"Go! I got this!" Pepper shouted at him as her semblance was already starting to fail. Pepper jumped on top of the grimms head as she started punching it trying to do some damage to it as she managed to crack the skull.

The grimm roared as it pushed pasted Peppers semblance rearing its head sending her flying back. She twisted her body being able to land on her feet without much issue but now the grimm was back to focusing on her and not Oscar as she activated her gauntlets main weapon.

"Take this!" Pepper shouted as streams of fire came out from the sides of her weapons trying to burn the grimm away. The Antlion only responded by digging back into the ground avoiding it completely.

"Where'd it go?" Oscar said as the two looked around to see where it went. Then a rumble came from underneath and before could react the grimm burst from underneath her trapping her within its pincers. She could feel her aura taking the blow but that still help that she was trapped with it squeezing her drawing out more of her aura.

"Pepper!" Oscar called out as she was trying to free herself punching at the pincers but it wasn't working.

Oscar was sure what to do but just something zoomed past him and slashed at the grimms stomach causing it to screech in pain which also made it release its pincers around her as she landed on the ground safely.

"You good?" Adam asked next to her.

"Yeah. Going to be sore for a bit though." Pepper answered but got into a fighting stance.

"So got a plan of how to deal with this thing?" She asked.

"If we can stun it than we should be able to attack its weakpoint under the jaw." Adam replied.

"And just how do we stun it?" Pepper asked again.

"Get behind it. Aim for the lower point of its body. That should stun it long enough for me to kill it." Adam ordered before turning to Oscar.

"You stay back. Don't need you or Ozpin getting hurt." He added as Oscar stayed far back from the battle.

The grimm lunged at the two attempting to grab them with its pincers but they avoided the attack as Adam drew Wilt from its sheath and slashed at its pincers. While it didn't do anything it did keep it trained on him giving Pepper time to get behind it. It thrashed around trying to hit Adam but to no success with the bull faunus avoiding the thrash but it did knock up some debris that was sent his way taking Blush and shooting the rocks out of his way.

Pepper managed to get behind the grimm and noticed where a distinctive spot of where to hit the grimm but she would have to be dead on in order to stun it. Pepper jumped and activated her semblance sending it toward her arms making them heavy and delievered a powerful punch that made the grimm screech stopping it for a moment which was all Adam needed as he attack and with all his strength stabbed through the grimms jaw.

He pulled his sword out as the grimm fell to the ground and began to vanish into dark black smoke. He looked over to Pepper who gave him a thumbs up.

"That should be that." Pepper said before looking around her seeing the amount of damage that grimm caused.

"Though... they might want to send a repair team to fill in the holes and repair some of the tracks." She added.

"C'mon. Weiss is waiting for us." Adam said as the three of them walked away.

Meanwhile Weiss had returned to the town and she began locating the pharmacy that was in town. She had to leave her weapon with the staff so that she doesn't cause any problems as she began looking around for the proper medication for Militia sister. She began looking around for the medication but she having difficulty with that department.

"If the pneumonia is a viral infection then there should be something here for that." Weiss thought as she began looking at the shelfs with many other medicines. She rounded the corner to enter another aile but she almost ran into someone as she barely stopped herself.

"I'm sorry I was looking for something and..." Weiss started but then she looked at who it was in front of her and paused before she smiled.

"Winter." Weiss said seeing her older sister in front of her. Winter is wearing a dark blue sleeveless dress top with navy blue jean that have a small white streak going up the side of her legs. She wears a white jacket with a small badge on the left side.

"Weiss?" Winter said clearly surprised to her sister.

"What are you doing in Argus? More importantly how'd you get here?" Winter asked.

"Well... it's a long story but first I'm looking for something. Its to help with a viral infection for a someone." Weiss replied.

Winter wasted little time and luckily she was in the right area as she found what medicine she needed and handed it to Weiss.

"I'm guessing for pneumonia right." Winter replied as Weiss grabbed hold of it with her right hand but Winter immediately noticed the black hand Weiss reached out with which made her gently grab hold of it.

"Is this... a prosthetic?" Winter asked rubbing the object.

"Yeah... I got it when I was in Sumire. Though the doctors patched it up first before I could get the prosthetic." Weiss explained.

Winter put her hands on Weiss's shoulders for a moment before pulling her into an embrace.

"I'm just glad that you're okay. Especially when Mrs. Blanche called me to let me know that you and your friend are both okay." Winter stated.

"So that was you. I was unconcious for a few days but I made a good recovery. It was a little rough to use one arm for a while but I managed." Weiss added before reminding herself that she had somewhere she needed to be.

"I wish I could talk more sis but there is someone waiting on this medication so I'm going to need to leave soon." Weiss replied.

"Why don't I come with you? We can talk more on the way." Winter said.

With the item in hand Weiss bought the item and the two exited the pharmacy.

As they walked Weiss began to tell her sister all the things that had happened while they were in Sumire but she made sure to leave out the part of having to kill someone and making sure she doesn't reveal Adam cause she doesn't know how she would react.

Though Winter began noticing where Weiss was taking them as they were approaching the train station.

"Um... Weiss I thought you said someone needed the medicine but you never said they were in the train station." Winter replied.

"Well... there was another reason being here. Apparently there is an energy source that the military was tracking down but everytime they try to go in they would get attacked by something. So the commander asked me and my friends to help." Weiss replied as she approached the train station with Winter following her.

They entered the stationed before heading straight toward the tracks and walked to the left.

"Weiss where exactly are we going?" Winter asked.

"Don't worry. We're almost their." Weiss stated as she saw a familiar light ahead after they arrived at the small hole in the wall.

Weiss and Winter entered the small hole only for Winter to see two fox faunus girls along with Pepper and two other boys but one of them was a bull faunus.

"Here's the medicine." Weiss said handing it to Militia as she opened the medication and poured into a small spoon before going over to her sister. She willingly drank the medicine before laying her head back down onto the pillow falling asleep.

Militia then turned toward the other woman in the room.

"And just who is this?" She asked.

"This is my sister Winter. Don't worry she's not going to bother anyone." Weiss said.

Winter then turned toward the other two with them.

"And who are they?" Winter asked.

"I'm Oscar Pine. It's nice to meet you Winter." Oscar replied.

Though she then turned toward the bull faunus who looked at her carefully before he extended his hand toward her as Weiss was holding in a breath.

"Adam Taurus." He simply stated as Winter took his hand and shook it gently.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Taurus. I do hope Weiss hasn't been much trouble." Winter replied as Weiss released her breath.

"Not really. She does have her moments though when she's flustered." Adam said as Weiss blushed from that statement.

Though her attention returned to the young girl that is covered up.

"So this is one that has pneumonia right?" Winter asked as Militia nodded.

"Yeah. I can't risk moving her till her fever breaks." Militia said.

"I see. Though are you sure that this is comfortable? This is a rather small room just for you two." Winter added.

"We make due with what we've got. The moment her fever breaks we'll find a place to move into." Militia mentioned.

Now it was Weiss's turn to be worried "Are you sure that is safe? Argus isn't exactly friendly to faunus." Weiss stated.

"I know but we have to try something." Militia replied though it gave Winter an idea that might solve their problems.

"Well... I do have some space in my apartment. Maybe the both of you could stay there with me." Winter offered which surprised Militia.

"Are you sure... I don't want to be a bother to you." Militia stated.

"Nonsense. You need a place to stay and I need some company. It's a win-win. I promise there is plenty of room for the both of you and you wouldn't be a bother to me." Winter stated.

Militia didn't know what to say at first but she didn't want to make a desicion without her sister.

"Can I discuss it with my sister first?" Militia asked as Winter nodded.

"Of course." Winter said not even bothered by her choice before she pulled something out of her pocket and handed it to Militia.

"This has my number on it so whenever you've decided just let me know." Winter said as Militia gave a firm nod before leaving the small room waiting outside.

"Well since the problem has been handled I'll report to Cordovin and let her know about the repairs that'll need for the tracks." Weiss said before leaving the small room as well.

"We'll met back up at the hotel and then we'll discuss our next move." Adam informed as they say there goodbyes to Militia as they left the room as Weiss was heading back to inform the commander about what had happened on the tracks and hopefully could get the repaired as quickly as possible.

F3: And that's chapter 14 done. The Malachite Twins are introduced but I chose to make them faunus instead and a new grimm as well. Wonder what's going to be next? Let me know in the comment and also don't forget to follow and/or favorite this story too. With that said this is Fireuser3 and I'm Out.
