A/N: Hello, readers! Welcome to another chapter!
Enjoy!
CHAPTER EIGHTEEN: DAEGON VS. BACCHUS
Toby was eventually on the ground, defeated. "Toby's down! And he's not getting back up! The match is over!" Chapati announced as Sherria sighed while Jura placed a hand on his forehead. "The winner is Blacksnake of Raven Tail!"
The audience soon cheered. "He's strong..." Erza commented.
"Yeah. And I don't think he was really trying hard." Gray agreed.
"Even without the dirty tricks, they've got strong people on their team." Lucy stated.
"This brings Raven Tail up to 36 points. And Lamia Scale has..." Chapati trailed off.
"...20 points." Yajima finished.
"Cool!" Jason exclaimed.
Toby was on the ground, sobbing. "So, what's your secret?" Blacksnake asked.
"My socks... I can't find one of them... Even though I've been searching for it for the past three months, I can't find it for some reason... I... I couldn't bring myself to tell anyone..." Toby replied as Lamia Scale sweat dropped.
Toby stops crying when he noticed Blacksnake pointing to his chest. Toby finally sees his missing sock hanging from his neck. "It was right here all this time?!" He exclaimed as the audience went pale. "You're a nice guy. I found it at last!"
"Yajima-san, what do you think...?" Chapati asked.
"No comment." Yajima answered.
"Cool! Cool!" Jason shouted.
"Good for you, dog-like guy!" Erza teared up.
"Unbelievably, I'm a little touched by this!" Gray exclaimed.
"Um..." Lucy was lost for words.
"Spin!" Obaba said.
Blacksnake then held his hand out to Toby. "Oh, my! The two congratulate each other on a good fight and shake hands..." Chapati said.
Right when Toby reaches for his hand, Blacksnake grabs his sock and tears it to pieces. "Or rather, they don't!" Chapati corrected himself. Lamia Scale stood there looking furious, Gray was trying to hold back Erza, and Raven Tail was laughing.
"It's my nature to want to destroy something so precious." Blacksnake informed, walking away from Toby.
"You won't get away with this! I'll spin you!" Obaba began spinning a random guild member.
"Me again?!"
"Okay, let's get back on track with today's second match!" Chapati continued. "From Quatro Cerberus, Bacchus! Versus an opponent from Black Sun A..."
"Us?" Kida questioned.
"There he is! I don't care if they're from another guild, but they better avenge me!" Cana shouted from where she was with Fairy Tail B. Gajeel was trying to hold her back.
"Bacchus... He's pretty powerful indeed." Kross commented.
"Daegon Litching!" Chapati finally announced who Bacchus was fighting against.
"You sure you'll be fine?" Sebastian asked.
"Of course." Daegon replied, heading out to meet Bacchus.
Bacchus and Daegon were staring at each other as the crowd cheered for Daegon.
"Good luck, Black Sun!"
"But if his opponent is Bacchus..."
"Hey, how about you and me make a bet like those last guys did?" Bacchus suggested, getting Daegon's attention. "You have some find ladies in your guild... Specifically that ice wizard and the black-haired girl on your second team."
"What do you wanna say?" Daegon questioned.
"It's an old story. If I win, they're mine. Both of them, at the same time..." Bacchus responded, causing Daegon to grit his teeth.
"Bastard..." Anna muttered.
"How disgusting can he get?" Cyana wondered.
Bacchus sets his bottle down. "If you win... Let's see..." He trailed off as Daegon stepped forward.
"For acting like a bunch of wild dogs, you really have no honor do you?" Daegon clenched his fist. "I'm gonna tear you apart!"
"Then we have a deal? My soul is quivering." Bacchus said.
The match soon began as Daegon found himself kneeling on the ground as he panted. "Oh my! This is unquestionably a one-sided match! Daegon can't land a blow!" Chapati announced as Daegon breathed heavily and looked at Bacchus who was staring him down.
"Beautiful females all to myself... Nice..." Bacchus said.
"H-Hey, is that...?" Lucy started to say.
"I can see how he'd fight you to a draw, Erza." Gray commented.
"No, what's really hard to deal with is coming up." Erza stated.
"Daegon..." Zane muttered.
"Don't worry! Daegon isn't even using his full power yet. He'll be fine." Rose reassured.
"Go, Daegon!" Raden cheered.
Daegon charged forward. "Chimerism Magic: Lionheart!" He shouted, taking the shape of a vicious Nemean Lion.
Daegon tried to swipe at Bacchus, who easily dodged his attacks. Bacchus ended up sending multiple slaps with his palm and elbowed him in the back, sending Daegon to the ground.
"Wild..." Bacchus started to say.
"...Four!" His guild mates finished.
"Even at that speed, Daegon's attacks aren't landing at all!" Kida said.
"Maybe it's because of that guy's weird movements..." Aster guessed.
"His magic is actually pretty orthodox. It's a type where magic converges in the palms of his hands." Orion explained. "But the secret of his strength is the mastery of a martial art that allows him to maximize that magic. The style of martial art is called Cleaving Hook Palm and that characteristic stance is used to deliver skillful palm strikes.
Daegon charged again as Bacchus kicked him before slapping him again.
"Palm strikes..." Kida mumbled.
"What was even more fearsome is when he improved on that martial art, devising Drunken Cleaving Hook Palm." Orion continued.
"Drunken..." Aster trailed off.
"You mean he's drunk?" Kida asked.
"That's right. It's impossible to predict the attacks of a drunken hawk. On top of that, his destructive force has been beefed up, making him a shoo-in to win. Even so, that's not the problem. He hasn't had even one drop of booze yet."
"Cleaving Hook Palm... That's an unusual style of martial art." Yajima commented.
"Actually, I've never seen it myself. Cool!" Jason exclaimed.
Bacchus threw Daegon back with his palm.
"Wild..." Bacchus started to say.
"...Four!" His guild mates finished once again.
"Stand up, Daegon!" Kross shouted.
"The movements of a drunken Bacchus are as powerful as they are unpredictable." Helena muttered.
"Huh? But he hasn't had anything to drink yet, right?" Nox questioned.
"Then..."
"He isn't trying hard at all."
Daegon's Lionheart soon dissolved. "Oh, my! Daegon's transformation has come undone!" Chapati announced.
"Not only has he consumed a lot of magic power, but it also goes to show how powerful that attack was." Yajima added.
"Cleaving Hook Palm is cool!" Jason shouted.
"You'll keep your promise, right?" Bacchus licked his lips.
"Can Daegon rise again?!" Chapati asked. "I forgot one important thing. Today, the Grand Magic Games official mascot-slash-judge, Mato-kun, has the day off, so I'm filling in as the judge, too."
"Two roles! Cool! Two roles, cool!" Jason shouted as he was spinning around.
"The day off?!" Wakaba repeated.
"Why? All he needs to take a break is change his innards." Macao added.
"You shouldn't say "innards"!" Happy scolded.
Daegon stepped forward. "So you're standing up? I guess all that talk about honor wasn't for nothing." Bacchus commented.
"Come to think of it, I didn't decide yet." Daegon said.
"Huh?"
"The bet... What happens if I win..." Daegon elaborated.
"Well, there's no chance of that, so go ahead, whatever you want." Bacchus said.
"If I win, the name of your guild is "Quatro Puppy" for the duration of the Games." Daegon declared, shocking Bacchus and the rest of the Quatro Cerberus members.
"'Puppy'? As in little dog?" Helena asked. "'Four Puppies'?"
"I like that! Make 'em say it, Daegon!" Kross shouted.
"Okay, okay. That does it." Bacchus grabbed the bottle that was in the arena. "Bottom's up... I think I'll wind this up."
"He drank booze!" Kida exclaimed.
"It's coming... Daegon!" Orion said.
"Now he's serious!" Aster added.
"Uh-oh! Bacchus has hit the bottle at last!" Chapati announced.
"Drunken Cleaving Hook Palm..." Yajima muttered.
"This is the first time I've seen it before my very eyes! Cool!" Jason yelled.
Bacchus soon got into his stance. "Come and get me. You should easily be able to beat a drunk like me." He claimed.
"Chimerism Magic!" Daegon did another transformation.
Bacchus charged forward. "It's no use!" He shouted before attacking him.
"Daegon!" Rose shouted.
"That's Drunken Cleaving Hook Palm!" Zane exclaimed.
"I-I don't know what happened because I couldn't see it!" Raden added.
"Seven blows in that one instant!" Orion thought.
"I-Incredible..." Helena mumbled.
"That just did a lot of damage, didn't it?" Kross asked.
"Yes. But..." Nox trailed off.
"How was that?" Bacchus asked until he noticed his armor was cracked and there were also injuries on his hands. "What the hell is this?! My hands..."
"Uh-oh! What's this?! Damage to Bacchus!" Chapati said.
"What is that?" Bacchus wondered as Daegon's skin was covered in iron.
"Steelskin..." Daegon finished. "If I can't hit you, then you can hit me!"
"I didn't know about that..." Aster mumbled.
"Don't tell me this is his..." Kida trailed off.
"I think the other guy's in big trouble." Romin commented.
"What does he mean to do?" Raden asked.
"Don't take your eyes off of them. Watch his battle to the end." Zane replied.
"Come on! Your hands or my body... This is a fight to see which will break!" Daegon claimed.
"Wild..." Bacchus muttered.
"That's some strategy." Helena commented.
"It's crazy. True, Steelskin takes the density of any hard metal, so it goes well against a bare-handed opponent." Kross stated.
"What's wrong?!" Daegon taunted.
"You're an interesting guy! My soul is quivering!" Bacchus said.
Bacchus ran forward and began hitting Daegon multiple times as everyone could only sit and watch.
"I-It's a frenzy! More of a clash of wills than a battle! Will the attacker give out?! Or the receiver buckle?! Just who... will win... this fight?!" Chapati said.
Bacchus soon collapses to his knees and Steelskin soon dissolved. Both Daegon and Bacchus were panting, trying to catch their breath.
"Your name... is Daegon?" Bacchus questioned as he soon began laughing and raised his fists up. "Wild..."
"...Four!" His guild mates said again.
"No..." Raden muttered.
"Bacchus is the one who got back up!" Chapati exclaimed.
"You know... you're..." Bacchus paused as he fell to the ground. "...one hell of a wizard."
"D...? Down! Bacchus is down! The winner is Daegon! Black Sun A gets 10 points! This gives them a total of 12 points!" Chapati shouted.
"P... Puppy?!" The Quatro Cerberus members all paled.
Black Sun's infirmary...
Daegon was currently laying on the bed as he groaned. "How are you feeling, Daegon?" Sebastian asked as him and the others walked into the infirmary room.
"I used my Regeneration spell and Master Souta used his Healing Magic to help with the pain." Daegon responded.
"He'll be fine, but I think we should play it safe and let him rest for the duration of the Games." Souta informed.
"I agree. Cyana can take your place." Sebastian said.
The blue-haired woman gave a thumbs up. "Leave it to me, Daegon!" She stated, making Daegon nod.
"We should get going. The next battle will start soon." Sebastian informed. His teammates agreed as they all headed out of the infirmary to watch the next battle.
A/N: Literally just realized none of the guilds in my other two SYOC stories have their reserves being put in the Games.
But here you go, this one does :)
