AN: Hello, I have the next chapter here. Sorry for the long wait, the planning for this chapter took a lot longer than I thought, but I wanted to post something I felt very happy with. This is considered the semi-final duel of the Genex Tournament with one of the craziest ends I have ever had to write. I was going to go for more of a two-part chapter but have decided to make this all in one as a bigger chapter. Chapter 76 – The Last Hope

"Arf!" Zwei barked as he ran through the cave, leading Weiss and Jesse as they entered into a wider open area. Lagging from them was Dr. Crowler, who was catching his breath from running. As they entered, the heiress Obelisk Blue looked over at the ground, seeing a bunch of scattered cards. In picking a few up, she quickly realized the owner of them, "These are Yang's cards!" she said upon looking over the area in dread, "But where is she, don't tell me she-" she said as mind flashed back the time in this cave last year with the shadow riders.

"Weiss, look at this!" Jesse called out as Weiss gathered the cards, then went over to him and Zwei. They stood before the hooded Slifer Red, suddenly in the green aura.

"Ruby!" Weiss called out as she ran over with Dr. Crowler.

"What even is this?" Dr. Crowler asked.

"I'm not sure, but it shocked me when I touched it." Jesse commented, but then looked at the heiress Obelisk Blue looking at the symbol on the ground, "What is it?"

"I know what this is." Weiss spoke before turning to the others, "It's a type of glyph seen in stories about the lost city of Atlantis. I believe it was called, the Seal of Orichalcos."

"You just know that off the top of your head?" Jesse asked.

"It was fascinated by glyphs as a kid, okay." Weiss responded, slightly blushing, then turned back to the seal, "This one was said to counter the power of legendary dragons. It offered the user a tremendous power up but at the cost of losing their soul upon defeat."

"That's a heavy cost?" Jesse commented, "So, how do we break it?"

"A unique type of crystal can be used to break the seal if needed," Weiss responded, "But I doubt one is on this island."

"Well, maybe we do have one." Jesse said as he took out his deck, "My new Rainbow Dragon seems to be made from all kinds of crystals, bond to be that one of them is from Atlantis."

"I guess anything is possible," Weiss said in a questioning voice but then looked back to Ruby's sorrowful eyes. The heiress Obelisk Blue then looked back to Jesse, "Okay, let's give it a shot." He nodded back before Weiss walked toward Dr. Crowler, who was still panting, "Just to be safe, you may want to look away to save your eyes." he said before facing away from the others.

"What do you mean?" Dr. Crower asked.

"Alright, everyone!" Jesse said as he held his cards with a multicolored light, "Time to break this seal!" As he spoke, all his seven crystal beasts emerged in their duel spirit forms. Each radiated their stone's color before merging into one ball of white light. The light then pulsated with a wave of color before the ultimate crystal god emerged, "Go, Rainbow Refraction!" With that attack declaration, the Rainbow Dragon unleashed a beam of multicolored light from its maw. The beam collided with the Seal of Orichalcos as the light began to bend.

"GAAAAAAAHHHHH!" Dr. Crowler screamed, "MY EYES!" he whaled as the attack continued, the ultimate crystal god focused its laser, causing cracks to form in the barrier.

In the black void of her mind, Ruby sat while hugging her legs, the darkness coiling around her. Suddenly, she felt a warm light. in looking up, her tear-drained eyes widened as all of the shadows were eradicated by the wave of colors. At that moment, the seal appeared on her forehead again before shattering.

As the lights and seal faded, the hooded Slifer Red's body in the real world fell limp onto the ground, "RUBY!" Weiss said as she turned around and ran towards her friend. Jessee let out a sigh of relief, then looked back up at his Rainbow Dragan. He smiled at the ultimate crystal god before it faded away back into his deck. The precious ace student then ran over to Weiss, who had protected Ruby against a wall, "Come on, say something!?" Weiss pleaded but gasped as she looked at the hooded Slifer red's eyes. They were no longer silver, but rather a foggy grey with no light in them, "Oh no, was she in the seal too long?"

"How do we help her now?" Jesse asked, then had an idea, "Oh, maybe she just needed to be reminded of stuff to get her scenes back?"

"Yeah, maybe. Ruby, it's me Weiss, your friend." Weiss pleaded as she was on the brink of tears.

"…" Ruby remained silent with soulless eyes.

"Come on," Weiss said before having an idea, "Wait, Zwei, come here and let Ruby see you!" She called out, but there was no response, "…Zwei?" She said but could not see the corgi, "Where's Zwei?" She and Jesse looked around in confusion as Dr. Crowler rubbed his eyes to heal them from the flash.

"Arf…" A whimper was heard through the corridor they came from.

"Oh no," Weiss said before getting up and rushing towards the sound of the corgi.

"Hey, hold on," Jesse said as he ran after them. Weiss was about to reenter the darkness of the cave, but then gasped as a violet flash was seen before her eyes, "Look out!" Jesse said as he tackled Weiss out of the way before the flash enveloped them.

Weiss found herself on the ground as her eyes recovered from the flash, "What was that?" She said before looking around, then saw a purple light take shape into a card with the image of the precious ace student, "J-JESSE!" She screamed before the card flew on its own.

"Oh, was that someone important?" The voice in the shadows spoke as the card went into his hand, "My bad, I was aiming for you." The person who walked out of the darkness was revealed to be the sadistic Obelisk Blue.

Weiss's eyes widened at the sight of the person, "Yuri!" the heiress Obelisk Blue said with grit teeth, "What did you do to him!?"

"Same thing I did to so many others." Yuri responded before holding up his other hand, "Though, it doesn't seem to work on dogs." He said as he held Zwei back the back of his neck.

"Arf…" Zwei whimpered.

"ZWEI!" Weiss called out in panic.

"Don't worry, he's not hurt." Yuri responded, "I could never be so horrible as to harm a poor, defenseless corgi." He said before tossing Zewi towards Weiss. The heiress Obelisk Blue tried to catch the corgi in midair. However, just as he was about to land in her arms, a plant-like maw chomped, devouring Zwei in one bite. Weiss's eyes widened in horror as the vines pulled back toward the darkness, revealing the violet aura of a venomous dragon, "Hahahaha," Yuri laughed as he had a wide grin on his face, "HAHAHAHAHAHA-!"

"YURI!" Dr. Crowler called out, causing the sadistic Obelisk Blue to stop his laughter, "You have a lot of explaining to do." He said while walking over to me while still rubbing one of his eyes, "I was being dragged off by that man and you just watched and smiled." The head teacher of Obelisk Blue said as he was in front of him, "I bring you to this island, and this is how you repay me for-" Suddenly, Dr. Crowler's body was whipped by a vine-like dragon's tail, launching him into a rock wall, "Gah!" He coughed blood before sliding down the rock, unable to move his body.

"You want me to explain everything, fine," Yuri said to Dr. Crowler as he walked over to him. "I was only trying to impress you so that you would invite me to this island. But then again, that was on Cinder's order after she failed last year. For so long, I have had to follow other people's commands and hide who I was." He said as he emanated a violet aura, "But now, I don't need any mentor, nor anyone to hold me back." he said as his eyes were fully violet as he smiled at the injured Dr. Crowler, "I'm perfect just the way I am now." He said while taking out a deck box and placing the Jesse card in it, "And I will turn all those I despise into cards." He said before readying his duel disk as Dr. Crowler panicked in terror, "However, it seems you'll have to wait." Yuri said as he turned around, seeing Weiss already having her duel disk opened.

"I'm going to put an end to you," Weiss called out.

"Heh, your friend back there said something similar to me before we duel." Yuri said before Weiss glanced back at Ruby, "And you see what happened to her." He said before chuckling, "Granted, I've beaten you before, so I don't see this time being any different."

"It will be," Weiss said with a focused gaze as Dr. Crowler looked on, then lost consciousness.

"Duel!" Yuri and Weiss said as the deal in the depths of despair had begun.

Weiss: 4000 Life Points

Yuri: 4000 Life Points

"Like before, you can have the first move." Yuri offered.

"That will be your first regret." Weiss said as she drew, playing the card instantly, "I play Polymerization, fusing my Gem-Knight Crystal and Meliodas Aria."

"Melodious?" Yuri responded, "So you combined your weak archetype with a weaker archetype?" he said before shaking his head, "How did you last so long in this tournament?"

"I got so far thanks to my friends supporting and believing in me, something you could never understand!" Weiss responded as the vortex formed behind her, "I fusion summon, Gem-Knight Lady Rose Diamond!" she said as the blue caped knight emerged with a rapier at the ready, (2700 ATK / 2400 DEF). "I end my turn two cards face down."

"…" Ruby slightly raised her head to the duel, her eyes fixated on the fusion monster. In her mind, she recalled a memory of the card being summoned in her duel alongside her friend. However, this memory was not enough to return light to her eyes.

"Hm, if that's all you can make, then this shouldn't take long." Yuri said before drawing, examining his cards, then playing one, "I summon Predaplant Moray Nepenthes." He said as the large plant made of spindly vines and red stained buds was seen, (1600 ATK / 1000 DEF). "Now, I play my own Polymerization. However, I will use three materials. They will be my Predaplant Flytrap, Cordyceps, and Moray Nepenthes."

"Three dark monsters?" Weiss commented before recalling Yuri's dual against Jaden, "Is he going for Triphyoverutum?" however, her eyes focused, "But why summon a monster first if it was just going to be fused with right afterward."

"I must thank you for this opportunity," Yuri said before looking to Ruby, "I only got to show her one of my Guardian monsters in our duel." He said before clasping his hands together, as the vortex formed behind him, "I fusion summon, the level nine, Guardian Chimera!" flying out from the vortex was a massive black beast with blood-red claws. Its three heads roared consisting of a demonic lion, enraged eagle, and furious dragon, (3300 ATK / 3300 DEF). "With this monster, I can only fusion summon with both cards on my field and hand. And for each card used from my hand, I get to draw cards." He said before drawing two cards, "And from my field, I get to destroy cards you control. And I pick your fusion monster." He said as his Guardian Chimera attempted to slash Lady Rose Diamond. However, Weiss's monster blocked the strike with her rapier, "Huh?"

"On your turn, Lady Rose can prevent its destruction by card effects once per turn," Weiss responded.

"Oh well, I can still destroy it the normal way," Yuri said before waving his hand, causing Guardian Chimera's six eyes to flare red before its claw shattered the diamond knight. The shockwave from the impact pushed Weiss back a bit as she stumbled.

Weiss: 4000 – 600 = 3400 Life Points

"Don't think that is the last you will see of her, I activate my face down, Rope of Life!" Weiss said before taking the solo card from her hand, "By discarding my hand, I can revive Lady Rose Diamond with 800 more attack points." She said as her blue caped fusion monster reappeared with a white aura, (2700 + 800 = 3500 ATK).

"In that case, I'll set two cards and end my turn." Yuri said as he did so, then clapped, "Congratulations, you now have lasted longer than you have in our first duel."

"You won't be so arrogant in a few seconds." Weiss said as she drew, then pointed, "Go Lady Rose, attack with Myrtenaster Slash!" she said as her monster rushed in to behead the Guardian Chimera.

"I don't think so, as I reveal my trap card, Ridicule World!" He said as laughing violet spirits appeared over the area, "Now you gain 100 more attacks this turn, but any of your monsters with more than their original attack are unable to do anything."

"Tsk." Weiss gritted her teeth as the monster returned to her side, (3500 + 100 = 3600 ATK). Suddenly, she heard a voice from behind her.

"Make it stop..." Ruby spoke as she held her head, multiple of the ridiculing spirits laughed in her ears, "Please, make it stop…"

"Heh, even now she's still broken," Yuri commented before Weiss glared at him.

"You're the worst kind of monster." Weiss said as took the solo card in her hand, "I set one card face down and end my turn." As she did so, the violet spirits faded as her Lady Rose lost its smaller boost, (3600 – 100 = 3500 ATK).

"Then it's my turn, and I'll use Cordyceps effect from the grave," Yuri said while drawing, "By Banishing it, I can summon back Flytrap and Moray Nepenthes." He said as the ravenous Venus flytrap, (400 ATK / 800 DEF), and spindly vine with red buds, (1600 ATK / 1000 DEF), was seen. "Now, I play my Predaprime Fusion." The sadistic Obelisk Blue said as the two monsters he just summoned formed in a vortex, "I fusion summon, the level eight, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon!" he said as the ravenous plant-like dragon appeared with a roar, (2800 ATK / 2000 DEF). "Heh, it's funny, I've already beaten two other girls in this cave with this fusion." Yuri said with his hand on his chin, "I forget their names, but one had a childish bow in her hair, and the other had that robotic arm."

"You mean Blake and Yang." Weiss said as her rage filled her eyes, her fist tightening, "What did you do to them!?"

"Heh," Yuri laughed, "I'll show you." He said before pointing, "When summoned, Starving Venom gains attack points equal to the attack of one of your special summoned monsters." The sadistic Obelisk Blue said as his monster gained a violet aura, (2800 + 3600 = 6400 ATK). "Go, attack her Lady Rose Diamond!"

"RRRRRAAAAAAAAAAA!" Starving Venom roared before unleashing a bragged teal energy blast that combined on impact to form a dome-shaped explosion.

"AAAAAAA!" Weiss screamed as she was thrown back in the shockwave, her fusion monster eviscerated as she was left with only a few life points left.

Weiss: 3400 – 2800 = 600 Life Points

"Now, Guardian Chimera can finish you off," Yuri ordered as his monster pounced towards its target, revealing a fourth snake had in the back of its tail to devour its opponent. However, the monster was blocked by a blade made of light, "Huh?"

"The card I discarded for Rope of Life was my Spiritual Swords of Revealing Light." Weiss said as she pushed herself up, "By banishing it, I can prevent direct attacks this turn."

Yuri sighed, "Fine, I end my turn." He said before crossing his arms as the swords of light faded, "You better make this next one count because I'm getting bored." He said Starving Venom lost its aura from the power up, (6400 – 3600 = 2800 ATK).

"I draw," Weiss said before playing the card instantly, "I play Pot of Greed to gain two more cards." She said before doing so as Yuri yawned. However, she gasped at the results in her hand, playing one right away, "I activate Fusion Gate." The heiress Obelisk Blue said as a gird-like field scanned the area.

"What will that do when you only have one card in hand?" Yuri said before Weiss smiled.

"I don't need to use the card in my hand," Weiss said before pressing a button on her duel disk, "I reveal Chain Material. Now, I can fusion summon with monsters from my deck this turn." She said before taking out a large chunk of cards from her deck, "I'm going to use Fusion Gate with Chain Material to banish materials for five fusion monsters."

"Five!?" Yuri responded as the quintuple vortex appeared. Emerging from the first was the pinnacle Gem-Knight, Master Diamond, (2900 ATK / 2500 DEF). Next was the gleaming Gem-Knight, Lady Diamond, (3400 ATK / 2000 DEF). After her was the mage Gem-Knight, Lapis Lazuli, (2400 ATK / 1000 DEF). Appeared as well as a white armored Gem-Knight with a shield and jousting lance, Prismamaura, (2450 ATK / 1400 DEF). Finally, a red armored Gem-Knight with a hooked scythe, Ruby, (2500 ATK / 1300 DEF). The last one caused Yuri to scowl more, "Tsk."

"While I cannot attack this turn, I can use Lapis Lazuli to banish Gem-Knight Seraphinite from my extra deck to hit you for 500 points of damage for each special summoned monster on the field. Right now, that's seven monsters." Weiss said as her army of fusion knights gathered their energy into an orb of light, gleaming with the beauty of all their gems combined, "However, I'm not done yet. I can use Lady Diamond to tribute Lapis Lazuli to summon out Topaz from my extra deck." She said as her mage was replaced with a yellow armored knight with twin blades, (1800 ATK / 1800 DEF). "And with her in the grave, I can use Master Diamond's effect to copy Lapis Lazuli's to hit you for the same amount of damage again!" she said while banishing Zirconia as her ace raised his jeweled blade, causing the light to gather into it was a pulsating power, "This is your end, Yuri!" Weiss said as her monster lowered his sword in an overhead swing, unleashing a power wave that ripped past both Yuri's fusion monster and into his body. He was engulfed in light, his body overwhelmed.

However, he had a slight smile on his face.

Weiss gasped at the sight, a line of sweat coming down her forehead. She shook her head, thinking it was a bluff. However, as the smoke cleared, saw the sadistic Obelisk Blue standing with a violet aura, "How, that was 7000 points of effect damage!?" she said before seeing something in the shadows, a set of ghosts that hovered around Yuri.

"I revealed my trap card, Damage Translation." Yuri responded, "It halves all effect damage I take this turn, which means you were just short of my full life points."

Yuri: 4000 – (3500 / 2) – (3500 / 2) = 500 Life Points

"Why you-" Weiss said before looking at her field, "I reveal Gem-Enhancement, allowing me to swap Prismamaura for Lady Rose Diamond in defense mode." She said as the blue caped knight emerged again, (2700 ATK / 2400 DEF).

"Such a waste, this one can't protect for long." Yuri commented with a chuckle, "You truly have no chance of winning against me."

"SHUT UP!" Weiss said before taking the last card in her hand, "I set this and end my turn. However, due to Chain Material. All other Gem-Knight fusion monsters summoned by its effect are destroyed." he said as the monsters exploded with only Lady Rose on the field.

"There's no need to shout, we can both hear each other." Yuri said before drawing, seeing the card with a smile, "First, due to my trap, I have gained two Ghost Tokens in defense mode." He said as two violet ghosts were seen on the field, (0 ATK / 0 DEF). "And while I could use your field spell. I prefer this method." He said before playing the card he drew, "I play Super Polymerization."

"But, that card's-" Weiss was saying before being cut off by a thunder strike.

"No, this one is mine. All mine!" Yuri said as his eyes grew more violet in color while he discarded a card, "And I am the one who holds all the power now. I don't need your monster for this summoning! I'll use Guardian Chimera and Starving Venom." He said as both his fusion monsters merged in the vortex, causing him to clasp his hand, "To fusion summon, all mightily level ten, Starving Venom Predapower Fusion Dragon!" Descending from the vortex was a new version of the venomous dragon, greedier than before as its body was an abomination of all types of carnivorous plants. Its wings are explained to unleash a violet aura of energy, (3600 ATK / 2500 DEF). "Your end is near," Yuri spoke as his sadistic smile was wider than before.

"Tsk," Weiss gritted her teeth, "No, I still have this. Since you choose not to use my monster as material," she thought before she glanced at her last face down, "Thanks to my Brilliant Spark, you will lose life points before I do."

"Now, I set one card and end my turn," Yuri said with the last card in his hand being placed on the field.

"Huh?" Weiss said to herself.

"Go ahead, draw your final card," Yuri asked.

"What do you mean final card?" Weiss as she drew.

"Because I have this face down." Yuri said as the card he set was about to reveal itself Weiss gasped at the sight of the trap card, "I activate Last Turn."

"Last Turn!?" Weiss said in shock, "How did you get that card!?"

"Courtesy of that blond girl from before." Yuri responded, "I'm not sure how she got it, but it was something I could not pass up taking for myself. I think it works well to defeat other fusion decks, so I needed a test subject like you to try it against." He said before pointing, "All cards on the field and in our hands are sent to the grave except one of my monsters, and I pick my Starving Venom Predapower Fusion Dragon." He said that both of his ghost tokens were exercised. Weiss gasped as she lost her Lady Rose again and her face-down card vanished, as well as the card she drew, "Now, you can special summon any monster from your deck to battle mine. Whoever is left with a monster wins the duel. So, do you have anything in your main deck that can beat 3600 attack points?" he said as Weiss fell to her knees, "Heh, I thought so."

"D-Damnit," Weiss said shut her eyes. However, she took a breath and stood up. In opening her eyes, the heiress Obelisk Blue searched her deck for a monster to summon, finding one before playing it, "I choose Crystal Rose." She said as a flower made of crystal bloomed on the battlefield, (500 ATK / 500 DEF).

"Uh…" Ruby looked again at the flower; her eyes fixated on it. Her mind then went back to New Domino City, recalling her time with her friend sorting cards. At those moments, her eyes filled with panic as the Predapower dragon shattered the rose in one whip of its tail.

"Ruby." Weiss spoke, gaining the hooded Slifer Red's attention as she turned to her, "Thank you for being my first friend." The heiress Obelisk Blue spoke with a smile in her eyes, "All my life, I thought the only way I could survive in this cold world was to fight it alone. But you showed me how important friends can be. That they can help you to reach goals you never thought possible or help you up when you feel at your lowest." She said with a soft smile as she looked at Ruby, "I never would have made it this far without you. So, for me, please live on. And remember, that every one of us will alwa-"

In mid-sentence, the maw of the Predapower dragon chomped on Weiss's entire body. Ruby watched as the monster tossed her friend's motionless body into the air, and then delivered the final bite. All that fell to the ground was her elaborate duel disk, which shattered like ice upon impact, "RRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAA!" the Predapower dragon roared as Yuri walked past the destroyed duel disk.

"Blah, blah, blah." Yuri spoke before he sighed, at the shades of the Crystal Rose, his monster fading as well, "That girl thought that she could beat my monster with that thing. She thought she was in some storybook where all her effort after failing would amount to anything." He said before making it over to Ruby, "But no, once you lose once, you're a loser forever." The sadistic Obelisk Blue said before touching the field spell slot in Ruby's duel disk, "And there are no fairy tale endings, isn't that right? Now I'll just take this seal and…what is this trash?" Yuri said as he took the card out of the slot, but it was not the Seal of Oricalocos he had seen before, it was a new spell, one he could not make out clearly, "Tsk, could them breaking the seal have ruined this card? This doesn't even look like a field spell." He said before sighing again, then smiling, "You know, you can keep this one." He said before sliding the card into Ruby's deck, "That makes us even for the Eatos now, so you and I are square." Yuri said before walking away, "Have a nice life, Ruby Rose. Hehehehe, if you still can that is." He said as the hooded Slifer Red remained motionless; her eyes were still a cloudy grey.

In her mind, Ruby sat in a blank void, hugging her legs. Her cries echoed out into the vastness without anyone able to hear. However, someone did hear. The hooded Slifer Red lifted her head, seeing a woman in a white cap and hood, a soft smile on her face, "I'm sorry Mom." Ruby spoke as she lowered her head, "I tried, I tried to save people like you did." She said as her mother sat next to her, "But I failed. I couldn't save anyone and just got more people hurt in the process." She said as her mother placed her hand on her back, "Maybe you would have been better off just saving Blair." Ruby said as she recalled the wolf attack from her childhood, "If you had just left me, then you would still be alive today." She said as her mother hugged her child.

"Ruby," Summer spoke in soft voice, "I don't regret saving you that day, because I wanted you to live on to make others as happy as you made me."

"B-but how do I do that now!? I've already lost, and your card was ripped in half." Ruby said as tears ran down her face at the memory, "How am I supposed to go on without you watching over me?"

"You think you lost because you feel like there's no hope." Summer responded, "But there is always hope so long as you don't give up." She said as her daughter slightly gasped, "Open your eyes and look forward towards the future you want others to have." Summer said as Ruby's eyes started to regain their light, "And one more thing, I'll always be watching over you, and cheering you onto victory." Summer spoke as her body in the void faded.

Yuri continued to walk away before stopping himself, a small smirk on his face, "You should have just stayed put." he said before turning his head, seeing Ruby glaring at him with her silver eyes.

"Yuri," Ruby spoke in a determined voice, "The duel is not over."

"What? Of course it is, we finish it before with me taking down your life points with Dreadscythe." Yuri responded.

"Not that duel, the one you just had with Weiss." Ruby said as she walked over to the broken duel disk of her friend, "Look at your duel disk." She said as he humored her and examined it, noticing something that took the smile off his face, "It still shows 500 life points, right?" the hooded Slifer Red spoke, "Even though Last Turn was played, it didn't register the win condition yet."

"Why?" Yuri responded.

"If someone loses due to Last Turn, another duelist can take their place with their own deck on that turn." Ruby said as she readied her duel disk, "I'll take over this duel and beat you once and for all!"

"…. Hehehehe," Yuri laughed before his cackles grew louder, pulling his head back, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" He looked back at that hooded Slifer Red with a wide smile, "Interesting, very interesting! Okay, I'll play along and beat you again." He said as his Predapower Dragon remanifested behind him, "When it's over, I'll turn half of you into a card and the other half can be fed to my dragon."

"Duel!" Ruby and Yuri said as the continuation from Last Turn had begun.

Ruby: 600 Life Points

Yuri: 500 Life Points

"Now, per your explanation, you don't get to draw because it was your friend's battle phase that she lost in." Yuri responded, "So what can you do without any cards to play when I have my strongest fusion dragon on the field."

"This turn, I don't need my cards." Ruby responded with a smile, "Weiss already left me what I need. I use Crystal Rose's effect to banish Lady Rose Diamond in the grave to special summon Crystal Rose in defense mode." She said as the shattered pieces of the stone flower reformed in its glory, (500 ATK / 500 DEF). "That ends my turn."

"I see, but all I need is a monster with more than 600 attack points to beat you." Yuri said as he drew, but Ruby remained focused, "…Tsk, I set one card and have my Predapower Dragon attack your Crystal Rose." He said as his fusion monster shattered the rose again, "I end my turn."

"I draw!" Ruby said as she did so, playing the card instantly, "I set one monster and then use Crystal Rose's effect again with Master Diamond." She said as the stone flower reappeared.

"Not this time, I active Wipeout Trap Hole." Yuri counted, "This banishes your ugly flower facedown." He said as Crystal Rose was grabbed by a ghostly hand and pulled into the void, "That card won't stall anymore. And now, I draw!" Yuri said before doing so, but as it was a card he could not play, he simply pointed, "Predapower Dragon attacks again!" The sadistic Obelisk Blue said as his fusion monster unleashed its bladed tail. While the set card was slashed, its monster was not destroyed. it was revealed to a set of scented candles over a bowl of burning chemicals, (500 ATK / 400 DEF).

"Aroma Jar cannot be destroyed when flip summoned." Ruby spoke, "And each end phase, I gain 500 life points." She said as Yuri scowled at the end of his turn.

Ruby: 600 + 500 = 1100 Life Points

"And now, I draw!" Ruby said before playing the card, "I summon Aromage Jasmine in defense mode." She said as the white-haired flower mage was seen in a knelt stance, (100 ATK / 1900 DEF). "And with the end of my turn, I gain 500 life points. And due to that, Jasmine allows me to draw one card." The hooded Slifer Red said before doing so.

Ruby: 1100 + 500 = 1600 Life Points

"This is starting to get annoying." Yuri said before drawing, then smirked at his draw, "Okay, I'll attack your Aromage Jasmine." He said before his fusion monster slashed the white-haired flower mage in half, "Next, I play Predaplast. By revealing Predapractice in my hand, your monster gains a Predaplant counter." He said before ending his turn as an evil bud appeared in the Aromage Jar.

"Now at the end phase, I gain another 500 life points." Ruby responded, but gasped as her monster gained a violet aura, "What?"

"I think it's time to show off my Predapower Dragon's effect." Yuri responded, "When you activate an effect, I can tribute a monster with a Predaplant counter to negate the card." He said with a sadistic smile forming on his face, "That includes cards you control with counters."

Ruby gritted her teeth before drawing, then picking the other card in her hand, "I activate Graceful Charity to draw three and discard two." She said before doing so, however, looked back to Yuri, "I end my turn."

"No cards, too bad, I draw!" Yuri said before doing so, then pointed out, "It's been fun, but you're finished. Starving Venom Predapower Fusion Dragon attack directly with Supreme Deadly Barrage!" he said as his fusion monster roared before unleashing a violet beam of energy from all its orbs and mouths, each converging into an absolute beam that was about to collide with Ruby.

"It's not over yet," Ruby said as she showed one of the cards in her hand, "I discard Aromaseraphy Angelica to target an Aroma monster in my grave to gain its attack points as life points."

"So, you only have that jar in the grave?" Yuri said before realizing, "Wait, when you discarded the last turn-"

"That's right, I target Aromage Bergamot to gain 2400 life points." Ruby said as she gained a reddish aura before being overwhelmed by the violet blast, "AAAAAAAAAAA!" she screamed as she was flung back into the wall, but slowly pushed herself back up.

Ruby: 1600 + 2400 – 3600 = 400 Life Points

"You're persistent, aren't you?" Yuri responded, then looked at the card he drew, "I set one card and ended my turn." He said before smiling, going into thought, "Ruby, you don't realize how pointless it all is. Anything you summon, my trap card Predaplanning will give every monster a counter. As soon as you do activate another effect, I can tribute your card like before." He thought before looking to his fusion monster, "And even if you use a spell or trap card to destroy my Predapower Dragon, I can use its other effect to summon out any dark monster in my graveyard." He said as the shadows of Starving Venom and Gurdian Chimera were seen behind him, "This duel will end in your demise." He thought Ruby was about to draw. However, the hooded Slifer Red remained calm, she closed her eyes. In letting out a single breath, she drew the card, holding it in the air with a blinding light, "What!? What is this light?" Yuri said before recalling this light emanating from the same card he slid into Ruby's deck, "It can't be!"

"I activate the Wonders of Nature, Kahyoreigetsu!" Ruby said as he held the card, but she was not alone. The silhouette of the souls of Weiss, Blake, and Yang also held the card before it was played on the duel disk, "This allows me to special summon a monster from my hand, and I pick my Night's End Sorcerer!" she said as a small child with a tattered attire and cape. Long animal ears were seen on his head as he was wielding a white-bladed scythe. The child sat on a tombstone as they glared at Yuri, (1300 ATK / 400 DEF). "And by equipping him with this spell card, all dragon monsters are returned to the hand."

"WHAT!?" Yuri responded before looking up at his fusion monster, seeing it fade away with a painful roar.

"This will finish it. Night's End Sorcerer attacks you directly with Shattered Moonblade Slash!" Ruby declared as her monster dashed in from the tombstone, his cape fluttering as if it left black rose petals in its wake. Yuri looked back to the oncoming attack, unable to defend as he gritted his teeth. In a flash, Night's End Sorcerer swung his scythe across the Sadistic Obelisk Blue's chest. Yuri's face remained full of dread as he fell on his back.

Yuri: 500 – 1300 = 0 Life Points

"…I…I lost?" Yuri spoke as he lay motionless on the ground, "How could I lose?"

"Because you only cared about yourself." Ruby said before her body gave out, and she fell to her knees, "If all you do is push people down on your path of destruction, you will eventually meet the same fate."

"…Hehehehe, such a childish outlook on life," Yuri responded with a forced smile, "I always thought if I were to finally lose, it would be to someone who was just like me."

At the duel's end, the Predapower dragon went silent as faded away, but left four orbs of light. As those orbs hit the ground, they formed into the bodies of Weiss, Zwei, Yang, and Blake. Slowly, each of the girls and the dog regained consciousness.

"Where am I?" Weiss spoke as she looked around.

"Gah, what happened to my arm," Yang said as she looked at where her mechanical arm used to be.

"Did…Did we come back to life?" Blake asked the others.

"Arf!" Zwei barked.

Ruby looked on at all of them with a smile, "You're all safe." She said before closing her eyes, about to lose consciousness. However, they shot back and opened upon a loud tremor. In looking over the cave walls, they began to crack and break apart.

"Oh no, don't tell me this place is coming down!?" Blake said before turning to the others, "We have to get out of here!"

"Don't have to tell me twice," Yang said as she stood up, then looked over to Dr. Crowler's unconscious body, "Damnit, he's not getting up. Blake, help me carry him." She said with the shadowy Obelisk Blue doing so.

Ruby tried to get up but was unable to move her legs anymore. However, Weiss ran over and helped her friend to her feet, offering a shoulder to lean on, "Come on, let's get out of here." Weiss said as Ruby nodded.

However, before they could exit to follow Blake and Yang, the two girls looked back to Yuri on the ground, "Yuri, you need to get up!" Ruby called out.

"Oh, even after all I've done, you still want me to live on." Yuri said before glaring at Ruby, "No, you can save a lot of people, but you will never save me." He said before smiling, "Goodbye, Ruby Rose." He said before their view of him was obscured by rocks, forcing Ruby and Weiss to follow Blake and Yang out of the collapsing cave. As more rocks fell around Yuri, he reached into his duel disk, pulling out the single spell card he valued more than anything, "Hahahaha. HAHAHAHAHA!" Yuri laughed as focused on the card, a wide smile on his face. Slowly, his body was encompassed in the shadows of a massive rock from the ceiling above. Then, a sudden silence fell over the area as the final rock made an impact.

Outside the cave, Blake and Yang rested Dr. Crowler against a tree. Ruby and Weiss still look on at the cave, "Do you think he made it out?" Ruby asked Weiss.

"Knowing him, he could have if he wanted to." Weiss responded, "Whatever his fate is, it was his fault for the outcome, not yours."

"Yeah…I know." Ruby spoke, looking down in slight remorse.

"Hey, over there!" Yang called out as the others turned to her. "It's Jaden and the other!" she said as the spirited Slifer Red ran with his friends towards their location.

Ruby looked on with a smile. However, she felt something nudge her leg. She looked over at her corgi approaching, "Zwei, you made it out too!" the hooded Slifer Red said in joy, then saw something in his mouth, "Hey, is that a deck box?" she said as Weiss recalled something before her duel with Yuri. In picking up the deck box, she opened it to discover those were turned into cards.

"Arf!" Zwei barked with a panting smile.

"Good boy," Weiss said as she petted the corgi, "Ruby all we need to do now is turn them back to normal."

"Yeah," Ruby responded, then took out the spell she played on her last turn, "And I think I know how."

AN: There you go, the end of Yuri and his madness. A lot of people waited for him to get his just desserts; I could not think of a more fitting way for him to finally lose. I have wanted to use Last Turn for a while since his duel with Yang. While he does beat Weiss one more time, she put up a great fight and the fusion gate to chain material combo was super cool. And it was thanks to her that Ruby was set up to continue the duel and win it all with Kahyoreigetsu, (To also clarify for people, after Rainbow Dragon broke the Seal of Orichalcos, the light changed the spell card into Kahyoreigetsu in a type of purification). All the other girls and Zwei are returned from the Fusion Dragon's clutches, and we now have all the carded people in the good guy's hands. Next chapter will show if they can return everyone back to normal again, as well as the final duel of the Genex Tournament. Now, time to answer some questions. Regarding the new Flame Swordsman support, I love it! Big attack fusion monster are super cool, and I would have given this to Yang if they came out before I wrote her deck in this series. Regarding Rush Duels, I think it's okay in concept. The new card art layouts are super cool and clear, so I am fine with only those cards being used. Due to its rules, I don't think you could use modern Yu-Gi-Oh cards in a format of infinite normal summons and draw up to five cards a turn. On the other end, I don't like the real-world Speed duels, as they are just the same cards with a watermark on them in printing, which is why I just prefer Duel Links for them.
