13th of Tarsakh:
I wish we hadn't been delayed in Thornhold yesterday, but it was nice to have another day to rest. We also enjoyed a home-cooked family dinner at Yukouth's sister, Garmarra's home. His younger sisters, Gerdelle and Gwinnip, and their husband Farmir, plus his brother, Yumdout, and his wife, Arlynn, joined us for dinner. Their parents are no longer among the living.
I really loved having dinner with Yukouth and his family, it almost felt like I was home with Envon, Mom, and Dad. There was so much laughter and I could tell they are a close family by all the teasing. Also like at home, there was a lot of trade talk around the table among the siblings. I guess that's what happens when you're part of a family business. Their spouses even joked about how it's always all brewery talk at family dinners. Yukouth couldn't stop praising Gerdelle and Gwinnip's unique meads. "I don't know how they do it, but those girls make the tastiest meads in all of Thornhold!"
"And we all know how much you like to drink their creations," Gamarra stated with a slight frown.
Yukouth turned red and stammered, "Well, ah… somebodies got to give them a taste test."
I think Gamarra was going to say more, but Yumdout interrupted and turned toward our group, "It's such an honor for Yukouth to be chosen for this mission with your group. What are your next steps?"
Elisha spoke up and shared our plans to head back to the Carnath Roadhouse and then on to Iniarv's Tower in search of the necromancer. That got everyone's attention and they all had so many questions and suggestions for us. When we left for the night everyone in the family gave each of us a hug and well wishings, and said they would pray to Dumathoin for a safe and triumphant mission.
Our arrival at the Carnath Roadhouse tonight created quite a stir. Everyone was overjoyed not just by my recovery, but because of our return. They had fought off dwarf skeletons the day before. Someone mentioned finding a pendant among the remains, carved with what looked like Velsharoon's symbol, but different. Unfortunately, I couldn't confirm this because they burned everything to try to rid the place of evil. Everyone we spoke with also told us they would pray to Dumathoin for a safe and triumphant mission.
I really hope all these prayers help. I'll be making my own prayers to Kelemvor before going to sleep tonight.
