TDI. Chapter 6: Who Has Talent?
(Dock of Shame)
Chris can be seen at the Shame Dock, "Last time on Total Drama Island ..." the camera shows the campers on the Wawanakwa court "our campers had to prepare themselves for a best of five dodgeball game..." Lindsay is shown getting hit multiple times, "some didn't fare so well..." now Eva is shown playing skillfully, "others did really well..." the view shifts to Owen using his Cowabunga to slam several Bass members into the wall "and some turned out to be a total surprise, dang, Owen really was a beast back there".
Tyler and Lindsay are seen on the dock, then caught by Heather. "It seems like some friendships and potential romances are about to emerge, but to Lindsay's dismay, she won't be able to have any of that with Heather watching her the whole time".
The Bass are seen carrying Tyler and cheering him. "In the end, Tyler broke the Killer Bass' losing streak by catching Owen's ball of doom ..." Noah is shown shrinking under his team's gaze, "while Noah was the one who didn't see it coming and was eliminated for not cooperating enough."
We return to Chris on the dock. "What challenge awaits us today? Who will be the next camper to walk the Dock of Shame? Find out this time in TOTAL ... DRAMA ... ISLAND!"
(Opening, if you're curious, read the chapter "Not so Happy Campers - Part 1")
(Cabins)
It's morning at Camp Wawanakwa, two days have passed since the last challenge and the campers managed to rest after the Awake-a-thon. Some people like Naruto, Eva, and Tyler are seen returning to their cabins to take a shower after their morning exercises.
Meanwhile, someone wasn't having the best morning.
(Screaming Gophers' Cabin)
"Oh no, this is so, way, beyond bad ..." Gwen wakes up hearing Lindsay holding a container of something, "I ran out of fake-tanner."
"Well, that's unfortunate Lindsay, how tragic" the goth remarks sarcastically as she gets up and uses a mirror to adjust her hair with her hand.
"I know..." Lindsay, not noticing the sarcasm, responds, "now I'll have to tan under the sun. Do you know how shriveled and wrinkled it can make your skin?" The bombshell turns to look at Gwen and gasps horrified, then she approaches and puts a hand on her shoulder, giving her a pitying look as if she was giving her condolences "You do know."
Gwen just gives her a look, unsure if she should feel offended or not.
But then, they hear the alarm through the speaker followed by Chris's voice "Alright campers, enough sleeping. It's time to show us what you're made of."
(Wawanakwa Theater)
"I swear I have no idea how Chris sets up these places so quickly" Bridgette says, surprised to see the place. Yesterday she was walking around with the girls from her team to get to know each other, and now there's a theater.
"You can say that again, Bridge" Geoff agrees, but the surfer girl raises a brow.
"Bridge?" the surfer asks, to which Geoff shrugs.
"Your nickname, don't you like it?" the girl dismisses it quickly.
"Don't worry, it just got me curious. I like the nickname Geoff" the surfer girl clarifies, smiling at the party guy before both sit with the rest of their team.
"Are we going to watch a musical?" Lindsay squeals excited as she sits on the stands with Heather and Beth "I love musicals, especially the ones where they sing and dance." Those who heard her look confused while Heather puts her hand on her forehead.
"Guys, I made some room for you" Trent calls Leshawna, Gwen, and Naruto to sit together, causing Heather to glare at them.
(Confession)
"I don't like this. Those four are now closer ..." Heather pinches the bridge of her nose. "I need to find a way to separate them or surpass them in votes."
Now with a thoughtful look, the queen bee wonders what she can do until she snaps her fingers with an idea. "Alright, I'll need Lindsay's help for this. Securing the biggest number of votes on my team will be crucial to get far in this show, and nothing beats gaining loyalty with a little blackmail."
(Wawanakwa Theater)
Meanwhile, Tyler arrives to sit with his team and greets Lindsay, a gesture that the girl appreciates with returning the greeting and blowing him a kiss, completely forgetting that Heather is beside her, watching everything. The queen bee doesn't hesitate to remind her by shaking her head and hitting Lindsay's face with her hair, leaving a strand in her mouth.
On the other hand, noticing that, Duncan playfully elbows the clumsy jock. "Oh you sly dog, you should talk to her more often man. You might leave the island with more than the hundred grand, well, if you even manage to beat me in this game" the punk catcalls, making Tyler a bit nervous.
"I won't deny that she's beautiful, but I think she's a bit out of my league, dude" Tyler replies, making Duncan snort.
"Who doesn't risk, doesn't win, buddy" With that, the two, along with the others, turn to see Chris walking on stage.
"Alright, campers, today's challenge is a favorite of summer camps, a talent show" he informs, causing Owen to stand up and cheer.
"Oh yeah baby, awesome!" It seems like his enthusiasm spreads to the others as they see what they have to do, something very simple and even fun.
"Ok campers, calm down" raising his hand to get their attention, Chris continues, "You have 8 hours to choose 3 campers who will represent you tonight. Singing, dancing, juggling, everything goes as long as it's legal." With that last part, the host makes an 'I'm watching you' gesture to Duncan, this makes the punk snap his fingers in disappointment, and although no one notices, Naruto also has a disappointed look. He'll have to resort to plan B.
(Confessional)
"Your loss dude" Duncan says with crossed arms.
*Static*
"A shame, really" Naruto added without knowing.
(Wawanakwa Theater)
"You'll be judged by our former talent show judge and former rap and DJ talent, the Grand Master Chef!" The campers blinked in surprise at this. Chef used to work in the music industry?
"The points will be delivered using the Chef-o-meter, which will ding between one to ten times to give the score" Chris mentions.
"The team that accumulates the highest number of points on a scale from 1 to 30 wins. The losing team will send a camper home tonight. Good luck." With that announcement, everyone prepared for the challenge.
(Cabins - with the Screaming Gophers)
Blowing a whistle, Heather was already ready to give the instructions. "Alright, I'll be the team captain, and I've already decided how we're going to work." But it seems like someone isn't quite on board with this.
"Wait, who said you'd be the team leader?" Gwen asks.
"She did, just now" Lindsay replies.
"Beth, Lindsay, and I voted, and I won," Heather responds, giving the goth a smile of superiority until someone else ruins her moment.
"Are you saying you didn't even bother to talk to the rest of us to come to a decision?" Naruto couldn't help but ask, making the others realize the same.
"The boy's right, do you plan to take charge just because you want to, skinny girl?" Leshawna didn't hesitate to support her newly acquired friend, irritating Heather.
'Damn fourth-rate cosplayer' the queen bee thought, and then spoke with a forced, friendly smile "Well, considering what you are saying, I guess we could decide together who our representatives would be. Does that sound good to everyone?" she asks, this time everyone agreed.
(Confession)
"It's official, someone from Moron's group has to go down" Heather could barely contain her anger. No one tells her how to do things!
(Main Lodge - with the Killer Bass)
The Bass team is figuring out what they can offer for the show. Right now, their jaws are dropped from watching Katie and Sadie's dance, though not for the reasons one would normally expect.
(Confession)
"Well ... that was ... interesting" Bridgette tries to give her opinion on what she just saw.
*Static*
"That was just terrible" Eva clarifies with her composure completely broken, it will take her a while to forget what she just witnessed.
*Static*
DJ had his mouth open, still trying to process what he had just seen.
(Cabins - with the Screaming Gophers)
Owen was chugging down a jumbo bottle of soda to the expectant gaze of the others. Once he finished, the guy took a breath and then burped the entire alphabet in one go.
On one side, the girls were disgusted by what they witnessed, on the other side, the guys were celebrating and congratulating Owen.
"Excuse me, you can't do that, it's gross" Heather clarifies, completely disgusted, and for once, all the girls on her team agreed with her.
"Do you know how hard it is to burp the alphabet in one go, Heather?" Cody asks, high-fiving Owen, only for the oaf to turn around and bend over with his butt pointing at his team.
"I can also fart Beethoven's classic" the oaf announces, and this time his whole team had to stop him. The guys might be a bit gross, but even they have standards, and they don't want to risk a possible intoxication that Owen might cause.
Having seen enough, Gwen leaves with a book in her hands that Heather notices.
"And where do you think you're going?" Heather asks the goth girl.
"Anywhere that isn't here" Gwen clarifies before leaving.
(Main Lodge - with the Killer Bass)
Tyler was doing several yo-yo tricks, some quite good indeed, except he didn't move his fingers fast enough and ended up tangled, making Courtney facepalm.
Chris, who is just passing by, just watched as the guy got tangled and then looked at the camera. "Man, that's weak."
(Cabins - with the Screaming Gophers)
The Screaming Gophers who were watching, had to admit that despite Heather's personality, she could lead them to victory with the ballet dance they were witnessing. Once it was over, everyone applauded.
"Thanks, thank you very much" Heather 'humbly' thanks her team "I guess I'm in, right?" she asks for her team to confirm.
"All right, how about we take a little break and finish later?" With that, everyone scattered to clear their heads. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Heather grabbed Lindsay by her arm. She couldn't risk Beth, as she might back down.
"I need you to do something. Can you keep a secret?" the queen bee asks Lindsay, who nods without any issues.
"Oh my gosh, definitely! My sister once had an explosive diarrhea at a restaurant during her date, so she had to call me to bring her toilet paper because the restaurant's bathroom didn't have any. I also had to distract the guy by pretending I ran into him casually, and since then, I haven't told a soul" the confident girl proudly admits without noticing Heather's surprised look. It wasn't until Lindsay noticed the camera that she realized her big mistake.
With a very embarrassed, nervous and fearful look, Lindsay waved at the camera, completely regretting exposing her sister on national television. "Oops … sorry for that Paula."
'TMI' Heather thought until she shook her head and handed Lindsay a walkie talkie she brought to the island knowing that they couldn't communicate with the outside world "Gwen's hiding something, so I need you to find out what's going on." With that, she pushed Lindsay to go spy on the goth girl.
(Forest)
Gwen can be seen writing in her diary, with Lindsay watching her boredly through binoculars from a distance.
"This is soooo boring." With a yawn, the girl looked away to see if she could entertain herself with something else. She then spots a tangled Tyler walking back to his cabin. This is from the camera's point of view, but from the shameless girl's view, she is looking right at his rear. "Oooohhhh, that's not boring at all."
(Main Lodge - with the Killer Bass)
The team is quite surprised by the show DJ is giving with his rhythmic dance, which, although not very masculine in the eyes of many, the guy knows what he's doing.
Once finished, the team applauded, making the Jamaican bow in gratitude.
"Alright, now we're two..." Courtney clarifies. A few minutes ago, she presented herself by playing her violin, earning her team's approval. "Who's next?"
"Me, I can stand on my hands for 20 minutes" Bridgette mentions excitedly, then performs the act for the curious gaze of the others but not surprising Courtney at all.
"Sorry, Bridgette, but I don't think that'll help us much in the competition. Anyone else?" she asks for others to step forward, and Geoff steps up with his skateboard.
(Communal bathrooms)
Lindsay and Tyler are seen entangled. Lindsay tried to help the clumsy jock, but the results didn't turn out as expected.
"Um... sorry for screwing up Thomas" Lindsay apologizes, embarrassed by her clumsiness, but Tyler dismisses it.
"Don't worry Lindsay. Thanks for helping, and I'm Tyler" Tyler responds. Taking advantage of the moment alone, he decides to ask her something. "Hey, is everything okay with that Heather girl?" he asks somewhat concerned. Lindsay, despite being somewhat clumsy, seems like a really sweet and friendly girl. However, Tyler can't help but be concerned with her being close with the queen bee, he recalls how she threw a canoe at him just to tell him to mind his own business, a pretty bad first impression.
"Hibra? Yeah, everything's fine. We're just friends" Lindsay responds happily. Despite Heather being a bit difficult to deal with, Lindsay is sure that deep down, the queen bee cares for her. That's why she invited her into an alliance to make it to the final three, right?
"Um ..." Before Tyler could say anything else, Heather's voice came through the radio.
"Lindsay. What did you find out? Lindsay?" Moving as best as she can, Lindsay finally takes the radio to respond.
"I haven't found anything. I'm going back to the cabin," she says, feeling more at ease. However, as she feels something hard yet soft, and warm beneath her, she lowers her gaze to see that, in her haste, she placed Tyler underneath her, and the two of them ended up even more entangled for some reason.
Due to the proximity, both blush and try to maintain their composure while still staring into the eyes of each other, especially Tyler, who can feel his 'little friend' waking up with such a beautiful girl on top of him. Damn teenage hormones!
'Calm down Tyler, think of anything to distract yourself, I don't know, mom accidentally hurting dad again, being attacked by a dog, anything!' the boy thought desperately to not make things more awkward until someone opens the door making both go pale. They just hoped it wasn't Chris or someone who would use the situation for their benefit.
"Uhhhhhh ..." Beth had no idea how to process what she was seeing. She quickly closed the door to prevent Chris from seeing them and possibly kicking Lindsay off the show. After taking a breath, she looked at the two entangled contestants. "Do you want some help?" she asks, and both nod, now more relaxed. They dodged a bullet right there.
(Main Lodge - with the Killer Bass)
Geoff just finished his performance with his skateboard, eliciting cheers from his team.
"Well, I guess it's Geoff, DJ, and Courtney so far. Anyone else want to show their talents?" Bridgette asks, prompting Izzy to raise her hand.
"Ooh, me, me, me!" With that, she takes a recorder and plays a song that is possibly Arabic.
"I call this the dance of the cobra" Izzy declares while dancing sensually. Let's just that the guys from the Killer Bass and the male cameramen were quite ... attentive during Izzy's dance, the girl's crazy, but they can't deny that she's also hot.
While this happens, the other girls on the team weren't so thrilled if their deadpan faces said anything, after some slaps to the back of the head and some yelps from the guys, they had to explain to the crazy girl that presenting such a dance might not be a good idea. They didn't want to get in trouble for showing something like that.
(Cabins - with the Screaming Gophers)
"Are you sure this isn't dangerous?" a very concerned Heather asks as she watches Beth perform. Maneuvering two flaming batons, it is quite impressive, but nobody wants to be close to Beth right now.
"I've been practicing" Beth replies, launching the first spinning baton into the air. However, she lost control of the second one for a few seconds, disrupting the tempo of her act. Nonetheless, she took the risk and threw the second one, too bad it wouldn't land in her hand, causing everyone to duck for cover.
With the stick on the ground, everyone calmed down. Beth had the decency to be embarrassed for that. "I always struggled in the catching class" she admits timidly, to the incredulous looks of her team. They really risked their lives just a few seconds ago.
"Beth, I don't want to criticize or anything, but I don't think it was the best idea to do it with the batons on fire when you weren't entirely sure" Harold expresses on behalf of the rest of the team who agreed.
"Understood" the farm girl accepts, then realizes something, "Um, where's the other baton?" she asks, making the others alarmed.
"Um... guys, I think I found it," Trent clarifies, seeing that the second baton landed in a bush next to the communal bathrooms, which promptly caught fire.
"I'll get the fire extinguisher" Leshawna announces, going into her cabin to get one. At least Chris had the decency to leave fire extinguishers in case of any fire emergencies.
"Anyone else want to continue?" Heather asks, so far, she is the only representative of her team.
"I can go next" Harold and Naruto announce simultaneously, only to look at each other.
"You go first, Harold," Naruto says, turning to Beth. "Hey, Beth, can I use one of your batons once they cool down? I promise not to damage them" he clarifies, and the farm girl allows it.
"Wait a minute, where's Cody?" Trent asks, making the others shrug.
(Forest)
Gwen was still writing in her diary. Everything had been quiet for a while, but that changed when she had an unwelcome visitor.
"Hey, what do you have there? A diary?" Cody asks curiously, much to the goth's annoyance.
"Buzz off" Gwen growls, but the geek doesn't pay much attention.
"I get it, it's private and all that, no problem." Still, he couldn't help but lean in to see, but Gwen pushes him away with a nasty look.
"What part of 'buzz off' didn't you understand?" Gwen grumbles even more annoyed, returning to her writing. However, this time, it's something strange and not in a good way when Cody sniffed her hair.
Now feeling uncomfortable, the goth girl stands up. "What are you, some kind of weirdo?"
"Um... I-I just thought you smelled really nice," the guy stammers, embarrassed.
"It's just soap." Gwen walks slowly backward, leaving to go back to her cabin completely uncomfortable.
(Confession)
"I screwed up, didn't I?" Cody asks, his hands on his face out of embarrassment, undoubtedly one of his worst moves.
(Cabin - with the Screaming Gophers)
Both Gwen and Cody were returning, with the latter giving her some space. Seeing everyone relaxing indicates that the auditions are over.
Seeing them, Heather couldn't help but notice the book that Gwen was trying to cover. She has to find out what that is.
"I'm going for a swim" she announces, entering her side of the cabin and then coming out a few minutes later in her swimsuit.
"Can we join you, Gwen?" Trent asks to the goth's delight.
"Of course" with that, Trent and Leshawna accompany her.
"Hey, Naruto, aren't you coming with us?" Leshawna asks Naruto, who is with one of Beth's batons.
"I'd like to, but I want to practice my act a bit more" he responds, disappointing Gwen a little, but she hides it quickly.
"It's your call, dude" Trent finishes, and Naruto goes back to practicing his act, while Gwen, Trent and Leshawna head to the beach.
Lindsay, on the other hand, wanted to join them to socialize and make friends, but Heather stops her. "Come, help me find a book" the Queen Bee instructs Lindsay.
(Wawanakwa Theater - with the Killer Bass)
Courtney was practicing with her violin while Katie and Sadie chatted a bit. Geoff is making sure his skateboard is in top condition while talking to Bridgette. Eva handed Tyler some dumbbells for them to train together, and Duncan, DJ, and Izzy played cards. A curious conversation arose between the two blondes of the team.
"So, can you really stand on your hands for 20 minutes?" the party guy asked, giving an idea to the surfer girl.
"Wanna bet that I can't?" she asked playfully, pulling out a five-dollar bill, catching the attention of the others.
"Deal" the party guy takes the bet.
"I'm in too" Duncan added, with DJ agreeing.
"Sorry, Bridgette, but I don't think you can do it" the Jamaican said, raising another bill, indicating that he was in as well.
"We'll see," the surfer clarified with a smile as more campers joined in.
"We're in too!" Katie announced as she and Sadie approached.
"Of course" Sadie said, not realizing that her foot was pulling on a light stand cable.
"Guys, this isn't right. What kind of example are we setting for those who are watching us?" As always, Courtney took on the voice of reason, pausing her violin playing for a moment.
"Come on, princess, it's not like we're going to get arrested for this. Besides, it's not like you've never bet before," Duncan replied as he walked towards her.
"For your information, no, I've never bet in my life" she replied, surprising her team.
"Wow, what a boring life you have," Duncan instinctively teased the polite girl.
"Quiet mongrel" Courtney snapped. Meanwhile, Sadie, reaching the limit of the cable, felt a tug. Seeing the cable at her foot, she untied it, but the tug loosened the light stand, which ended up falling towards Duncan and Courtney. Thanks to Duncan's quick instincts, he noticed the danger and reacted in time, pulling Courtney to the ground, and barely avoiding the falling light stand. Unfortunately, Courtney's violin wasn't as lucky and was crushed in the process, all of this happening under the astonished gaze of the others.
(Later)
"I don't think that piece goes there dude" DJ indicated to Tyler as the two tried to piece together the shattered violin.
Meanwhile, Eva held Courtney to prevent her from ripping Sadie a new one.
"You killed my violin!" a furious Courtney roared, while Sadie hid behind Duncan and Geoff, both guys are surprised by the normally calm girl's intense outburst. They knew she would be upset, but not hardcore angry, what the hell?.
"It wasn't intentional, I swear" the shorter of the BFFFs tried to save herself, but Courtney wasn't having any of it.
"Guys, I don't want to be a party pooper, but I don't think we can repair the violin in time. We'll need a new act" Tyler intervened, causing the others to worry until Duncan came up with an idea.
"Hey, Eva, how much can you lift?" he asked, raising an eyebrow from the athletic girl.
"A lot, why?"
(Forest)
"Not much blackmail material, I must say" Heather murmured as she read Gwen's diary, leaning against a tree. She didn't find much relevant information except that the goth girl was developing a little bit of a crush on that damn Moron.
She could probably use this with the competition being more developed since currently there are so many people on the goth girl's side. It would be too risky to have so many enemies so soon, something she wasn't willing to take at the moment.
"Damn" with the reading done, Heather walked to leave the diary where she found it. However, she found Harold writing something, she didn't know what since the nerd had his back turned. She noticed several crumpled-up paper balls scattered around, she silently picked a couple and left.
Once the queen bee was at a considerable distance, she unfolded the paper sheets to read them, let's just say that her smile wasn't a friendly one.
From what she noticed, the nerd hasn't made many friends ever since the show started. He was practically alone, and with what she had now, she could have greater control over her team.
"Perfect" she murmured, thinking about how to approach Harold, she had found a new lackey.
(Wawanakwa Theater)
"Welcome to the T.D.I. Talent Extravaganza ..." Chris announced to the cameras, using his professional smile. "Six of the campers will present their best talents, and also try to avoid being humiliated on national television" with the last part, the host chuckled a bit.
"All right, starting with the winners of the last challenge, we have DJ representing the Killer Bass" the host announced, giving the stage to the Jamaican amid the cheers of his team.
Once on stage, DJ waited for the music to start. When it did, the Jamaican performed his act, initially impressing everyone with how well he did. However, everything went downhill when, halfway through his act, the ribbon tied to his foot and tripped him to the floor.
"Well, that's unfortunate" Chris mentioned as he approached, hearing the Chef-o-Meter sound four times. "But at least Chef liked what you brought so far of the performance" the host clarified as DJ came down from the stage disappointed.
"Okay, moving on to the Screaming Gophers, they'll start with Heather" he announced to give the stage to Heather, dressed in her tutu, striking her initial pose and waiting for the signal to start. With the music starting to play, the girl began her act.
On one side, the Gophers were once again watching an act they were pretty sure would earn them many points. On the other side, the Killer Bass were somewhat worried, the act is very good, although there were a few who enjoyed the show in a different way.
(Confession)
"Mmm hmm, there's nothing better than seeing a girl so sexy dancing in those tights" Duncan declared shamelessly.
"I think I found a reason to like ballet" he added, crossing his arms with a smile.
(Wawanakwa Theater)
By this point, Heather finished her dance, this got her applause from the campers present.
"Great dance, Heather ..." Chris congratulated as he climbed onto the stage, and both heard the Chef-o-Meter sound seven times. "And it seems Chef agrees if those seven dings are any indication" the host announced, giving the score.
'It could have been better' thought the queen bee, but she wasn't going to risk having her score lowered by complaining. So, she just came down from the stage to continue with the show.
"All right, moving on with the Killer Bass, we have Eva" Chris announced for the athletic girl to step forward, with three interns carrying a weight with considerable effort.
"All right, as you can see, this is a 130 kilogram weight in the International System or about 286 pounds if you use the English System. I'm going to lift this" she announced, surprising some.
Once Eva finishes her act, she prepares, takes a breath, takes some powder in her hands, and lifts the weight, surprising many.
"Damn, that girl is strong" Leshawna mutters, earning nods from the rest of the Screaming Gophers.
"Is that all?" Chris asks, not too impressed. He's seen similar feats in past Olympics games, so it's not very original. However, this makes Eva smile.
"No, in fact, I'd like two volunteers to come on stage" she reveals, making Lindsay and Izzy excitedly step forward with the bombshell ignoring Heather's calls.
"What do you need, Captain Musclehead?" Izzy asks with a military salute. Eva claps twice, lifting the backdrop to reveal a log with a swing on each end, currently held by thick hooks attached to two equally thick pulleys, this makes everyone's eyes widen as soon as they assumed what Eva will do.
"No way," Chris mutters, quite surprised, an unusual sight for him. The camera even switches to show Chef, quite interested with a very focused look on the stage. If Eva accomplishes what he thinks she's about to do, she'll earn a good part of his respect.
"Many of you might have guessed, but I'll confirm it for you. I'm going to lift this log with the two girls swinging," she announces, causing murmurs among the campers.
"Duncan, have you lost your mind?" Courtney whispers, worried. They might be desperate to win, but this goes beyond limits.
"Relax, princess. Just watch" the punk replies confidently, grateful in this moment for keeping the stolen ax.
Now back to Eva and her two assistants, who sat in their respective swings. Eva warms up again, breathes, using Naruto's meditation teachings to position herself comfortably under the log. She signals for the pulleys to go down, Lindsay grabs herself to avoid falling while Izzy laughs causing some initial imbalance. The campers gasp in concern, but Eva steps firmly, successfully balancing and lifting the log. The Killer Bass celebrates while seeing this.
"I'm not done yet" grunts Eva due to the effort, she then walks a few steps forward to the center of the stage, surprising everyone. She then rotates on her own axis, spinning the log with her, she finally goes back and instructs the interns to bring the pulleys to lift the log she's carrying.
"Well, what do you think?" the exhausted athlete asks, and everyone applauds and congratulates her.
"That... was... awesome!" exclaims Chris, holding his head. "Girl, you completely surprised me" he admits, making the Chef-o-meter sound ten times, indicating that Eva achieved the highest possible score. The Killer Bass celebrates, they are still in the game.
"She's dangerous" Heather murmurs, wide-eyed. She has to figure out how to eliminate her, and soon.
"Alright campers, settle down," Chris calls everyone's attention to continue. "Representing the Screaming Gophers, please welcome Harold," he announces, giving the stage to the nerd, dressed like a disco DJ, with dark sunglasses and all.
"Good evening people of Canada! Tonight, let me show you some of my wicked skills!" he proudly announces, connecting his keyboard to a speaker and grabbing a microphone.
With everything ready, Harold starts beatboxing while using the recording function on his keyboard. He changes the rhythm, and then his keyboard begins playing his beatbox, creating something more complex.
As the rhythm progresses, the listeners become more engaged. It turns out the nerd does have some crazy skills after all.
Now the guy inserts his keyboard to accompany his beatbox, and what surprises some is when he starts playing the 'Crazy Frog' song, and moving in a way to reference a certain someone from an animated film with monsters and aliens from his childhood.
Some guys like Owen, Trent, and Cody stand up, putting on serious faces and slightly tilt their heads with the rhythm of the song. They identified the scene immediately.
"What are they doing?" Lindsay whispers to Heather, who facepalms. Boys will always be boys.
This goes on for another minute until Harold switches to a Megalovania rhythm with a faster beatbox and piano solo, gradually turning the place into a disco. He also plays other songs, mixing them with his beatbox, giving a great show. Several campers can't help but move or dance a little with the rhythm.
Once finished, they have to applaud for what Harold did. He truly showed that he has musical skills.
"Good job, dude" Chris congratulates the guy, patting his back. "Well, let's see what the Chef thinks" the host indicates only to hear the Chef-o-meter ding 10 times, this got various cheers from the Screaming Gophers, they continue on the lead.
"Yes!" Harold cheers, joining his team and high-fiving Owen, Cody, and Trent.
Chuckling to himself, Chris notices the happy atmosphere, the campers are chatting happily, everyone is having fun and there's good sportsmanship. Maybe he should have challenges like this more often. Nah, humiliation and drama must continue.
But turning to the cameras, as the interns prepare the stage for the next performance and the commercial break ends, the host continues.
"Hello, viewers, welcome back to Total Drama Island. We've already seen four of our campers showcase their talents, and I must admit, some of them surprised me. But the show must go on. From the Killer Bass, please welcome our party guy, Geoff!" With that, Chris steps down from the stage.
With that, Geoff shoots onto the stage on his skateboard, riding up the railings and ascending a ramp shortly after to hang on its edge. A few seconds later, he descends again, heading towards a slightly steeper ramp. From there, he jumps off, executing a kickflip and landing on the other end. Now, he is on another railing, but this time, he adds a backflip, riding his skateboard on handstand even as he descends from the railing.
Reaching another ramp, he decides to turn gradually while descending slowly. Upon regaining his footing, the guy accelerates to high speed towards a steep but not very high ramp. Nevertheless, he goes all out, shooting into the air.
In mid-air, he separates from his board, making it spin while he performs two backflips, barely managing to get back to his skateboard in time. He finally lands at the top of the highest ramp, earning him numerous applause.
"Thanks dudes and dudettes!" Geoff expresses gratitude before Chris approaches.
"Well, Geoff, pretty impressive performance, but let's see what Chef thinks," Chris says, and the Chef-o-meter rings 7 times. Despite being good, DJ's act affects their overall score.
"We conclude with a score of 21 points for the Killer Bass. Naruto needs at least a 5 to secure the win, so let's hope he doesn't screw up. Without further ado, let's welcome our Japanese camper" Chris announces, giving the stage to the guy dressed in martial arts attire. He is dressed in a red gi with the kanji of gama (toad) on the left pectoral, a gray inner mesh shirt, arms and hands bandaged, a slightly dark green obi, and slightly dark green martial arts shoes. These are quite curious colors for a martial arts school, and for once, he doesn't have his characteristic green goggles but instead carries one of Beth's batons.
"Let's finish this," the guy thinks, adopting a fighting stance. His legs slightly separate, bending as if preparing for a squat. His right hand extends forward with the palm fully open, while his left hand holds Beth's baton, in overall, he kind of reminds the audience of a frog.
With that, he begins a combat routine against a phantom opponent, showcasing his expertise through clean and precise movements. People like Izzy and Chef, due to their own martial arts experience, can easily identify that the guy clearly knows what he's doing.
After that, the guy decides to add a bit more show for those who may not understand martial arts as much. Once he returns to his fighting stance, he signals the interns to pull a rope, with them dropping wooden boards. Taking advantage of Geoff's performance ramps, the guy effortlessly climbs them with precise jumps, surprising some.
Once at the top, he throws the baton to break the farthest boards, then breaks a part of the wooden ramp, grabs two pieces of the board and throws them like shurikens at two more boards. For the last one, he decides to run and then jumps, shocking the others. However, they didn't anticipate the staff bouncing off a metal beam and quickly falls to the center of the stage. The guy catches it, then spots the missing board within arm's reach. He takes it, positions himself to land by placing the baton under him, then the board, and finally, he lands standing on one leg above the board that is above the staff, concluding his act.
Applause follows his performance as Chris approaches. "Nice moves, man. Ever thought about teaching?" Chris asks, to which the guy declines.
"Sorry, Chris, that decision is up to my godfather and sensei. I won't reveal the specific teachings of my school unless I'm chosen as the style's heir" he clarifies. Chris shrugs, but the camera shifts to Chef who is nodding at those words, at least the karate maggot has honor and loyalty to his school, he can respect that.
"Whatever, Chef, what do you think of this act?" Chris asks. The Chef-o-meter rings 8 times, and the Screaming Gophers cheer knowing what that means.
"Well, that settles it. With a score of 25 points, the Screaming Gophers are tonight's winners" Chris announces, he then turns to the Bass.
"Bass, I'll see you at the campfire pit after dinner," Chris declares.
(Campfire pit)
All Killer Bass members, except Geoff, DJ, Eva, and Sadie, already received their marshmallows.
"I'm not surprised that you guys are the ones at risk tonight, but Eva, Geoff, you're safe for obtaining great scores on your acts" Chris says, tossing them their marshmallows causing relief for them and worry for DJ and Sadie.
"DJ, you act was the worst one dude, that's why you are at risk tonight" Chris mentions, making the Jamaican look into the fire, understanding everything and doesn't have anything against his team, he knows it was his fault.
"Sadie, sabotaging your teammate, even unintentionally, could have cost everything despite Eva giving your team a good score. Anyway, one of you is going home tonight, and that person is..." Chris teases, making both look at their marshmallows anxiously.

After a tense moment, Chris reveals, "Sadie, time to go home" throwing the marshmallow. Katie upon hearing this cries hugging Sadie, who does the same.
"Noooo! Why Sadie!" the tallest one cries but her BFFF tries to console her.
"Katie, I know this didn't go as well as we hoped, but we have to move on. You're the only one left to win the money for our dream" Sadie says, and they continue hugging and crying for a few minutes. At first everyone felt bad, but it quickly became annoying.
"Okay, this is getting annoying, Chef," Chris snaps his fingers for Chef to walk between them, separate them, and drags Sadie to the Boat of Losers to toss her there, and once she leaves, both BFFF yell that they already missed each other.
"Well, tonight was something. Who would've thought these campers were good at something?" Chris wonders, ignoring the cries and sobs as he wraps up. "Anyway, what challenges await us? Who will be the next one to go? See you next time on TOTAL … DRAMA … ISLAND!" he says goodbye, but Katie's sobs really ticked him off this time.
"SILENCE!" the host really had enough with those two.
End of the chapter
Campers:
Screaming Gophers: Beth, Cody, Gwen, Harold, Heather, Leshawna, Lindsay, Naruto, Owen, Trent.
Killer Bass: Bridgette, Courtney, DJ, Duncan, Eva, Geoff, Izzy, Katie, Tyler.
Eliminated: Justin, Noah, Sadie
This chapter was trickier than I expected, but I think that it got alright in the end, I'll try to stick close to the original content and also add my touch as you have already read with Heather choosing to be more secretive about her alliance, the ones that couldn't wait and read the spanish version know how this is getting developed.
Also, even though I'm staying close to the original content, I'm a believer of the butterfly effect, so yeah, the fact that Naruto is in the show will create even greater changes in the long run. Heather, again, is an example of this, she sees Naruto, Gwen, Trent and Leshawna as a real threat, that's why she decides to be more secretive, a little change that brings huge consequences.
This is a reminder for everyone, as you know the story is harem but I don't have any idea of how to do it and keep most of the characters essence, and I also don't want to copy Mumei Mu, so It'll be very helpful if someone with experience in creating realistic and well developed harems could help me with how to develop it, but I let you know that I take a while to respond.
That's it for now from the not so much of a reader now.
I will be reading the reviews, accepting constructive criticism and interesting ideas.
Until next time.

(Forest)
Courtney takes the opportunity to talk to Duncan as she catches up with him in the forest. "Hey, Duncan, why did you help me?" she asks, only to have him raise an eyebrow.
"Don't make it sound like the weirdest thing, princess. It's something anyone would do," he replies, turning his back to head to the cabin. However, the girl won't have any of it.
"No, anyone would react on instinct to save themselves first, but you chose to save me. Why?" she asks, causing the delinquent to pause his walk.
"You're imagining things," he responds, continuing to walk without noticing the slight and tender smile on the girl's face. Maybe that guy isn't as bad as he seems.
(On the other side of the forest)
A very cheerful Harold walks back to his cabin. Perhaps with what he did, he caught the attention of a music manager. That, and his cabin mates never bothered him as they did back at school. Maybe he'll make some good friends here, coming on this show was undoubtedly the right choice.
But he had to stop when he saw Heather approaching with a smile, and truth be told, he doesn't know what to think. "Hello Harold" the queen bee raises the sheets of paper she had picked up earlier. "Can we talk for a moment?"
