Wonder watches Chiffon prance around the living room in her new school uniform. He's got his arms folded and his eyes half-lidded. Every time she turns to face him, he discreetly sticks out his tongue.

All around them, Mom, Dad and Wonder's honorary aunty Lillian are smiling and praising her for being so grown up. They're acting like it's the greatest thing in the whole world. Big whoop. Just because Chiffon is starting big-kid's school next week doesn't mean it's the greatest thing in the whole world! Why's she getting so much attention?

Wonder is sitting on Lillian's lap. She leans down - her super-long blonde hair practically covers him in a curtain as she does so - and whispers, "Don't be so sad. You'll get to go to school too in a couple years. Isn't that exciting?"

But Wonder doesn't care. And he certainly doesn't understand why he should.

His mother tells him off for all the faces he's been making, while his father shakes his head in the background. She tells him not to be so snotty.

But when Chiffon comes home from her first day a week later and complains about how boring it is, Wonder smirks with a guilt-free demeanour.
