The way around.

Chapter 1

It was a week after the festival.

Things have settled once more within the domain… more or less. Yua however was seeing something rather interesting this morning. Something she never thought she would see. Suguru was standing tall, arms crossed as he peered down these small beings but with very stark colors. Each one was a solid color and a shade of the same color.

He's lecturing the elementals.

"What part of he is a baby did you not understand from me?" he asked of them.

Their heads were low, many refused to look up at him. It doesn't help that the moment he swallowed the orb containing them, they became his summons now. "I can wait all day, but I want an explanation." He said in a more stern tone.

"We were told to!" said one of the fire element. "My master said not to waste any time, get him to learn our element first, he's is the strongest with it!"

"NO WIND!"

"WATER!"

"DARKNESS!"

"ENOUGH!" Suguru shouted, it silenced them rather fast. "It matters not what element he learns first, what you need to understand is that he is not learning anything right now. He can't even speak!" he said in a scolding tone. "As such, one representative from each element, I am allowing you to return to your domain to inform you masters what has happened, what is going on and the consequences for not heeding it. Take this to heart… you are interfering with MY family!"

They froze to the news. "Yes, you heard me, Ryoto is my nephew. He is Yua Tooru's nephew… she and I are dragons… are you certain your masters wish to take the risk in upsetting a dragon couple and their family?" he asked bluntly.

They were terrified.

Sweat began to ooze out of them, the smell of fear followed as they realized the seriousness of their actions. "Now then…" he picked five to send back. They were quick to leave and ensure the message was sent.

"The rest of you are now dismissed." They vanished in a puff of black smoke, where they went, Yua didn't even know, but Suguru sighed aloud. "I think it was easier to be a sorcerer than a dragon…"

"Of course it's easier!" she protested. "Being a dragon is complicated…"

"Yeah, tell Megumi about it…"

Yua paused oddly. "Is he still…"

Suguru nodded. "Honestly, it's getting worst. He hasn't accepted that his summons have become one with him… it's strange that I can see such a thing…" he said offhandedly.

"See?" Yua asked.

"Well, you might be able to see it as well, come with me." Suguru waved her over, she followed him as they went down by the lake. There was Megumi sitting at the side of the water, his dragon tail merely flopping about, but his ears were getting a little longer. "Oh…" the more Yua looked, the more she understood what Suguru was talking about.

She could seen all this energy gathering and collecting around Megumi, it was like a blob, but it was his summons trying to meld and merge with him. He is refusing them, thus, they have nowhere else to go than be exposed in such a manner like unleashing a dragon tail or his ears altering.

"What is wrong with this…" Yua muttered. "I know he is not happy about how this all happened, I get that, I would hold a grudge too." She said.

"That's the thing, and I don't think we should interfere either…"

Yua agreed to this as well. She wants to help Megumi, at the same time, she feels this is something she couldn't interfere with. "Let's leave him be for now, if he does need help, he knows to ask for it." She explained.

Suguru agreed.

They left him alone and yet, she noticed a smile on his face. "What's with you?" she asked.

"Uh… well… taking into consideration everything that I wanted to do in my past… somehow ends up coming to together when I am around you…"

She paused. "We are not a sorcerer based society." She said. "We're merely…"

"My point is this… Yua… you achieved my dream without spilling human blood unless they attacked us."

She snorted a laugh. "Your dream… was what my family has been doing all this time. We bridge the difference between human and sorcerer, we're not too far apart from each other either. Why make a big deal out of it?" she asked.

He froze to this for a moment. "What…"

She laughed again. "Suguru, you wanted a world where only sorcerers lived… granted that would lead to inbreeding and then the death of sorcerers are you know it. My family, we never saw humans as low-level beings… since we are still human ourselves. Like it or not… well… we were as sorcerers… now were in a whole different ball game here…"

He snickered to that and nodded. "Fair… fair…" he said. "So… has anyone spoken to you about Sukuna recently?"

She peered at him curiously. "I know he has been wearing an odd necklace. He's goes off on his own for a while to isolate or mediate. But other than that, no."

"So you are aware he is acting… different."

"Ever since the festival." She said bluntly. There has just been a different atmosphere around Sukuna since he did the festival. Did it remind him of good times? Or is he regretting ever remembering what he had? Perhaps she should speak with him on the matter.

"I'll leave him be as well for the time being. Despite the fact this is Sukuna we are talking about there… there are times when I know it's best to just leave him be and do his own thing. He appeared rather focused to, this is something serious for him…" she explained.

Suguru nodded on the matter. "I have yet to speak of this with Satoru…"

"Don't," she warned. "Just… no"
