They are in the summer outfits rn. Although, it doesn't change their outfits in the Digital World… for some reason… I'm assuming it was because the animators wanted to stick to one style in the Digital World, while still showing to us that seasons are passing. So, they had one style in the Digital World while having seasonal outfits in the Human World.

Chapter 16: Waves of Reliability

Koushiro's Office

Koushiro: "Hmm, there seems to be a Digimental in this location. That's a welcome surprise. The last two Digimentals were hidden and yet this one is just here, right next to the ocean."

Daisuke: "Really? Then we can just go and get it."

Koushiro: "Please be a little more careful, this area hasn't been explored yet properly. I never had enough time to get Joe to help me map out the oceans in the past few years."

Takeru: "Got it, we should be fine though, no dark towers in that area."

Knowledge: "The Digimental is right in front of you guys."

Hope: "Got it, thanks Koushiro."

Daisuke: "So it should just be in this oil rig here."

Hikari: "Yep, and it's probably Iori's Digimental."

Miyako: "How can you be so sure?"

Takeru: "There is only the Digimental of Reliability left, and I doubt it would belong to Hikari or me."

Iori: "Then, let's go."

Iori began to walk quickly towards the entrance of the oil rig, with the rest following behind him.

Hikari: "He seems more enthusiastic than usual."

Miyako: "Maybe he is just excited to be getting his second Digimental."

Daisuke: "It's quite odd to see Iori excited for something."

Takeru: "Well, no matter how mature he is, he is still very young."

As the Digidestined entered the oil rig, they didn't realise the Digimon that came out of the sea.

Wormmon: "They are at the oil rig, Ken. What do you want to do with them?"

Ken: "Leave it to Megaseadramon. I have more important business to handle."

Megaseadramon started to attack the oil rig, causing the bridge to collapse, leaving the oil rig disconnected to the land. The Digidestined felt the shockwaves of Megaseadramon's attacks while they were inside the oil rig. They had gone quite far down into the oil rig. Megaseadramon began to slice at the oil rig, causing water to flood into the area the Digidestined were at.

Takeru: "It's flooding."

Miyako: "What do we do!?"

Hawkmon: "Calm down, Miyako!"

Veemon: "There's a button here! It says emergency shutter!"

Daisuke: "Hit it!"

Veemon: "Got it!"

Veemon hit the button, causing gates to be closed above the Digidestined. It stopped the water from coming in, but it left one major problem. They wouldn't be able to move upwards.

Daisuke: "Megaseadramon isn't attacking the oil rig anymore."

Takeru: "Makes sense, it's only a matter of time before we…"

Takeru didn't finish his sentence as he looked over to Hikari, who seemed to be slightly panicked. Although it looked like she was trying to stay calm for everyone else's sake.

Iori: "It's all my fault…"

Armadimon: "How is it your fault, Iori? You didn't do anything wrong."

Iori: "No, I rushed in here without checking if it was a trap, and I dragged all of you with me."

Takeru: "It's no one's fault. Let's just focus on getting out of here and getting the Digimental. Would it be ok if you guys discussed first? I need to check something with Hikari."

Takeru brought Hikari over to the other side of the oil rig, as the rest of the Digidestined and their partners started to think of how to get out.

Daisuke: "We can call Koushiro for a gate to get out."

Hawkmon: "But if we do that, we will not be able to get the Digimental."

Miyako: "Then we just search for it first."

Armadimon: "What if we can't find it on time?"

Veemon: "Maybe it would be good to get back-up?"

Daisuke: "We can ask Hikari and Takeru when they come back. Maybe they know some underwater Digimon that can help us."

Takeru sat down beside Hikari as she buried herself into his shoulder.

Hikari: "I'm… scared…"

Takeru: "Don't worry, they won't come and get you. This is just the sea in the Digital World. They can't come for you. And I won't let them get to you either, Hika."

Hikari: "How are we going to get out of here..?"

Takeru: "Koushiro can always open a gate for us. And as for the Digimental, we won't have to worry about it much. We have MarinAngemon's blessing remember? Worse comes to worse, we just send the six of them back and we find the Digimental ourselves. After that we would just need to find a safe way to get them here to try and lift the Digimental."

Patamon: "Then why don't we just do that?"

Tailmon: "It's easier for us to find the Digimental first."

Hikari: "Koushiro also said the new Digidestined…"

Takeru: "Yeah, so we will give them a chance to think of a plan and we can give them a few pointers. It will help them be more confident. But for now, just breathe, Hika. I will be with you all the way. I will be here by your side."

Hikari: "Thanks Keru."

Hikari gave Takeru and small smile and embraced him in a hug, burying her head into his shoulder. Takeru hugged her back and held her close.

"Don't worry, Hika. I won't ever let those creatures come near you. After all, you are my one and only Light."

"Thank you so much, Keru. You're always trying to protect me. You will always be my Hope and protector."

Takeru and Hikari walked back, with both of them looking in higher spirits than usual.

Takeru: "So, what have you guys thought of?"

Miyako: "Why are you two in such high spirits…"

Daisuke: "Do you two know of any Digimon we can call to help us here?"

Hikari: "Hmm, there's only a few options…"

Takeru: "MarinAngemon has to handle her city… the other Digidestined are probably busy… We could ask Koushiro to help us but Tentomon might not be able to transport us very well underwater."

Hikari: "Wait, we can ask Komondomon!"

Tailmon: "Right, he would be able to transport us safely."

Daisuke: "Transport? How about Digimon that can fight?"

Takeru: "We don't have to worry that much about firepower. All we need is for a Digimon that can safely transport the six of you into the ocean."

Iori: "The six of us?"

Miyako: "What about you four?"

Patamon: "That's not a problem at all. We can easily fight Megaseadramon and win. We just need to find the Digimental for you guys."

Miyako: "I'm not following..?"

Takeru: "Don't worry about it. Iori, can you go through a gate and get to the tree?"

Iori: "Why me?"

Hikari: "You are the most observant, so you would probably know your way around the tree the most."

Iori: "But…"

Takeru: "Just trust yourself and go for it."

Iori: "Can't one of you two go?"

Hikari: "Sorry, but we need to stay here. HolyAngemon will be needed to stop the water from coming in any further. And Angewomon will be needed to fight Megaseadramon."

Daisuke: "How does that make any-"

Takeru: "Just trust us, Iori, please go and get Komondomon."

Light: "Izzy, is it possible for a gate?"

Knowledge: "Sure, what's the status on the Digimental? You guys are very close to its energy signature."

Hope: "Slight issue. I'll explain it after you open the gate. Cody will tell you what to do."

Knowledge: "Got it."

Just then, a gate appeared in front of the Digidestined.

Takeru: "Now then, Iori. Go ahead."

Iori: "But…"

Miyako: "Just go for it, Iori. Hikari is probably right. I honestly have no idea how to get around the tree and Daisuke was mainly focused on the battle at the tree last time."

Iori: "Ok…"

Iori went through the gate and saw Koushiro.

Iori: "I need a gate to the tree. I need to get Komondomon."

Koushiro: "Got it."

"What happened over there? Takeru better have a good explanation for this."

Koushiro opened another gate which Iori went through. Takeru's voice came in just as Koushiro closed the gate.

Hope: "Did Cody get through?"

Knowledge: "Yep, now what happened?"

Hope: "So, we were searching the oil rig for the Digimental when a Megaseadramon attacked us. We ended up using an emergency shutter. Now we are trapped here. Our main plan is to find the Digimental while Cody gets Komondomon. Worst case scenario, we send everyone back and then Kari and I will defeat Megaseadramon. We need Komondomon just in case we can't find the Digimental in time."

Knowledge: "Alright, it's quite a solid plan. It would be very useful if the new Digidestined had MarinAngemon's blessing though."

Courageous Friendship: "How are you going to fight underwater?"

Knowledge: "Don't worry about that. You'll find out soon since we are probably going to tell you more stories of the Digital world soon."

Light: "Anyways, we're going to search for the Digimental now, Izzy. We will keep in touch."

Iori was running through the tree, silently berating himself for not asking for one of the faster Digimon to help him. He honestly didn't know why he went alone and without Armadimon. Soon he reached the centre of the tree and was panting hard. Wisemon saw him and greeted him.

Wisemon: "Hello, Digidestined, what is it that you require?"

Iori: "I need… Komondomon…"

Wisemon: "I see, that will be no problem at all. Although you could have just asked him yourself. He is right outside the tree."

Iori: "He… was..?"

Wisemon: "Yes, would you like me to bring you there?"

Iori: "Yes, please…"

Wisemon began to float over to Iori and went past him. Iori groaned for a moment as he began a quick jog to keep up with Wisemon. When they arrived, Iori was slightly irritated at himself for not seeing Komondomon. After all, he was just around the corner from where Koushiro brought him in."

Iori: "Thanks, Wisemon."

Wisemon: "No problem. Just remember that Komondomon is here, and you just have to ask him."

Iori went to Komondomon, who was resting. He told Komondomon the situation and Komondomon gave barks of agreement to help. Iori then went onto Komondomon's back as Komondomon sped off.

Daisuke: "So what exactly is your plan?"

Takeru: "We find the Digimental."

Hikari: "Find out who it belongs to,"

Takeru: "Then Hika and I will beat Megaseadramon."

Miyako: "How are you going to beat Megaseadramon?"

Takeru: "Oddly enough, you can hold your breathe longer underwater in the Digital World. And also, Hika and I have the ability to breathe underwater here."

Hikari: "Yep, it's all thanks to MarinAngemon."

Takeru: "Anyways, we should go find the Digimental now. Patamon, you ready?"

Patamon: "Yep, Takeru!"

"Patamon Evolution! Angemon!"

Hikari: "Now that I think about it… maybe we shouldn't have sent Iori… Digmon would have been useful here."

Takeru: "Oh well, I think we have enough power to dig around anyways."

The Digidestined began to dig around until they found a stone that couldn't be broken through. Angemon even tried using his Angel Rod to hit it, but it didn't budge.

Angemon: "It's possible that this is the Digimental. But we should keep searching just in case. I will keep trying to at least break the rocks around this."

Takeru: "Got it."

The Digidestined continued to dig around until they heard a familiar bark. They immediately went over to the small window to see Komondomon swimming towards them. They didn't realise the rock started to glow.

Takeru: "Alright, now where is Megaseadramon…"

Takeru spotted Megaseadramon swimming towards Komondomon.

Hikari: "Shoot, we need Komondomon to get closer before we can get out of here…"

Takeru: "Let's at least get ready for this fight."

Takeru and Hikari looked towards their partners, and they all nodded at each other.

"Angemon Super-Evolution! HolyAngemon!"

"Tailmon Super-Evolution! Angewomon!"

Takeru: "Just a little closer… Now!"

On Takeru's command, Angewomon burst through the side of the oil rig with Hikari on her shoulder, causing water to rapidly flood in. Komondomon quickly increased his speed to get to the Digidestined and managed to get inside.

Takeru: "Now, HolyAngemon!"

HolyAngemon: "Heaven's Gate!"

HolyAngemon summoned a Heaven's gate at the area that Angewomon had burst through. He didn't open the gate, however. This stopped the water from coming in.

Takeru: "Perfect, now everyone get on Komondomon and get out of here."

Takeru looked back towards the Digidestined but noticed a light coming from below the water, which had risen to around knee level. Just then, the light suddenly went in front of Iori, who was on Komondomon's back. The previously indestructible rock was enveloped in light and began to crack, revealing the Digimental of Reliability.

Iori: "Is this..?"

Takeru: "Looks like it's your's Iori. Take it."

Iori: "But… how could I have the Digimental of Reliabity? I was the one that got us into this mess in the first place…"

Miyako: "So? You are the ones who's about to get us out of it."

Daisuke: "Yeah, Iori. Go for it man!"

Armadimon: "Iori, if it belongs to you then you should take it."

Iori: "I… alright… let's do this Armadimon!"

"Armadimon, Armor-Evolution! Submarimon! Waves of Reliablity!"

Hawkmon: "That's definitely a sea Digimon…"

Submarimon: "Get in Iori. We will do this together!"

Iori: "Got it."

Iori got into the compartment in Submarimon. Takeru looked at them and nodded as he got onto HolyAngemon's shoulder.

Takeru: "Everyone ready?"

With Daisuke, Miyako and their partners safely inside Komondomon's air bubble, and Iori safely inside Submarimon, they shouted their agreement.

Takeru: "Alright then, let's do this HolyAngemon!"

HolyAngemon: "Right!"

HolyAngemon let the Heaven's Gate fall as water rushed in once again. Once the oil rig was full of water, all the digimon rushed out, with Komondomon going to the surface, while HolyAngemon and Submarimon went over to assist Angewomon.

Angewomon had just blocked an attack from Megaseadramon and was about to be hit by its tail when HolyAngemon swooped in and hit the dark spiral on Megaseadramon's tail, causing it to crack but not shatter.

HolyAngemon: "You looked like you needed some help."

Angewomon: "Good timing."

Hikari: "Takeru, is everyone safe?"

Takeru: "Yep, and Iori got the Digimental."

Submarimon: "Aqua Vulcan!"

HolyAngemon: "Submarimon, aim for the dark spiral! It's weakened already."

Submarimon: "Got it, Oxygen Homing!"

Submarimon unleashed concentrated blasts of air at Megaseadramon's tail, while HolyAngemon and Angewomon held Megaseadramon in place. Submarimon charged forward and bashed into the dark spiral causing it to break.

Daisuke and Miyako looked worried from above as they weren't sure what had happened. They saw bubbles at the surface and the rest of the Digidestined burst from it. Soon after, the Megaseadramon came out of the water as well. Upon seeing Veemon and Hawkmon, Megaseadramon roared and fired a beam of lightning towards them. When the dust cleared, HolyAngemon and Angewomon were in front of Veemon and Hawkmon. There was also a pink shield behind HolyAngemon and Angewomon, protecting Daisuke, Miyako and their partners. Takeru and Hikari jumped off their shoulders and had serious expressions.

Takeru: "Dammit, I was hoping he would be friendly. HolyAngemon! Finish him."

Hikari: "Sigh A shame that they are this way…"

HolyAngemon: "Excalibur!"

Angewomon: "Holy Arrow!"

HolyAngemon charged in and sliced at Megaseadramon, leaving a gaping wound on it. Angewomon's arrow hit the wound that HolyAngemon opened and pierced through the Megaseadramon. The Megaseadramon burst into data and the new Digidestined tried to process what had happened.

Miyako: "What…"

Takeru: "It had to be done."

Iori: "Again..?"

Hikari: "I was afraid of this. The last time we encountered a Megaseadramon, we had no choice but to kill it."

Daisuke: "But why..?"

Takeru: "You saw it yourself, that Megaseadramon tried to attack Veemon and Hawkmon just because they were at a lower level than it. Normally, it would have been free data for it. You're lucky that Hikari and I were prepared for it this time."

Light: "Izzy, we are done here. We got the Digimental. Megaseadramon was aggressive when we freed him, so he has been deleted."

Knowledge: "Alright, there isn't much we can do about Megaseadramon. As long as you all are safe."

The new Digidestined were all silent as a gate opened in front of them and they all entered.

Koushiro: "So, the Megaseadramon was still aggressive after you broke the dark spiral? Sigh, I really wish it wasn't so bloodthirsty. Just because some of you guys are at a lower level, it thinks it's easy data to absorb."

Takeru: "Yeah, it's a shame, but what can we do about it?"

Hikari: "We just have to make sure we give them a chance to be free after we release them. If they wish to attack us… unfortunately we will just have to fight back."

Koushiro: "Yeah… at least Digimon get reborn after they die…"

Iori: "It still doesn't feel right to kill them…"

Takeru: "Sigh, sorry, but sometimes it just has to be that way."

Koushiro: "By the way, remember that we won't be going to the Digital World to destroy dark towers tomorrow."

Miyako: "Hmm? Why not?"

Hikari: "It's been one year already…"

Takeru: "Yeah… our Memorial Day…"

Takeru held Hikari close as she tried to hold back tears.

Koushiro: "We will get him back. We just need to find where he is."

Hikari merely nodded at Koushiro's words, not trusting herself to be able to speak without breaking into tears.

Iori: "Sorry, but what exactly is happening tomorrow?"

Koushiro looked towards Takeru and Hikari, before nodding to Tentomon. Tentomon nodded back.

Tentomon: "Tomorrow is the anniversary of when we were all in the Digital World to save it and the Human world. It happened one day after the Digital crisis with the power outages. However… last year on the same day…"

Daisuke: "Taichi disappeared… that's it… isn't it..?"

Hikari buried herself into Takeru's embrace as Takeru tightened his grip on her. He looked to Daisuke and nodded solemnly.

Tailmon: "You guys… are welcome to come along with us if you wish… but if you want to destroy dark towers instead… we won't stop you…"

Iori: "I think we will go with you guys. We are able to destroy the Kaiser's towers faster than he can put them up. And he also slowed down a little, right Koushiro?"

Koushiro: "Yeah, he might be up to something… but we won't know for now."

There was silence in the room for a moment before Koushiro spoke again.

Koushiro: "It's getting late, you guys should go home."

Takeru: "Yeah… Patamon, you ok to evolve?"

Patamon: "Sure thing, Takeru. So, Hikari's house first then your's, right?"

Takeru: "Yeah, we don't need speed right now so let's just go with comfort, ok?"

Patamon: "Sure thing!"

Koushiro: "Make sure you guys aren't seen, alright? It is quite late, but you can never be too careful."

Takeru: "Don't worry, come on, Hika. Let's go."

Hikari didn't say a word but stood up. She went over to pick up Tailmon and followed Takeru to the entrance of Koushiro's building.

Daisuke: "Wait, they're going to fly home?"

Koushiro: "Yeah, we haven't told you guys exactly what happened, but Patamon is able to evolve to Pegasmon without the Digimental. He does seem to be weaker when the Digimental isn't used, but it doesn't matter right now."

Miyako: "Interesting."

Koushiro: "Yeah, we will get to that point soon. If I remember correctly… we have told you of our adventure up until… Devimon was defeated?"

Iori: "Sounds about right."

Koushiro: "Yeah, after that we were all reunited, and Hikari joined us. But we'll tell you guys more tomorrow if we have the time. Anyways, get some rest for tomorrow. We will be going to a lot of places, and although we can use the gates, we usually travel without them."

Miyako: "Why though?"

Koushiro: "I guess you could say… it feels nostalgic…"

The new Digidestined all nodded their heads in understanding as they saw Pegasmon flying outside the window into the night sky.

Wormmon: "They deleted Megaseadramon. What are you going to do, Ken?"

Ken: "It doesn't matter. This project I'm working on will be perfect."

Wormmon: "That project?"

Ken: "Yes, that blueprint that contained the data of some Digimon."

"That was a very weird blueprint… it was just there for me to use, and it also had random data from Digimon that I never saw… it's almost as if… it was intentionally put there for me… it contained data from those older kids' partners. Whatever, it has to be a coincidence. One that I will take advantage of."

That's it for this chapter. Now that I think about it, HolyAngemon never really fought in 2020. We never really saw him doing much, I only really remember him extending his sword to cut through Sephirothmon, and then like we never see him fighting much. We didn't even get to see his Heaven's Gate.
