Chapter 34
"So let me get this straight." Simmons says over the radio and contacting Ruby's team, "There's a place where we can get our black boxes upgraded and we can create entire solar systems."
"Yeah!" Ruby sounds excited, "We can make an entire solar system and create our own Grand Paradise System. Not only that, the actual Grand Paradise System is a giant facility that is a size of a solar system."
Grif looks at Simmons, "Does that mean we can create an entire planet full of food?"
Sanchez says to Simmons, "You should watch Toriko."
"Say what now?"
"Shh!" Simmons shushes everyone. "So what else you can tell us?"
Church is in the mainframe, "Basically, we have to find this super sized facility in deep space in order to initiate something called, Re:Genesis. It's a project that was left behind in an event of certain..." Church looks at a classified file, "Emergencies. Hang on, I found some sort of file here."
Church tries to access it, but the file requires a password to get access. However, he sees the name of the file. The file is titled: The Dark Half.
"Damn." he says, "The file is locked but the file name is: The Dark Half."
"The fuck does that mean?" Tucker asks.
"How the fuck should I know?!" Church gets annoyed. "I can't access it without the password! I would try to hack it, but this sort of software is not easy!"
Caboose interjects, "Probably has something to do with The Force. Or the dark side to be clear."
Yang asks, "What's, The Force?"
"Focus." Carolina orders.
Simmons says on the radio, "In this place, it is hard to tell but Caboose might be on to something."
"Please and thank you." Caboose says.
"It actually has something to do with the other half of the galaxy we're in." Magnus says over the radio.
"Hey, Magnus." Washington greets the giant red Primarch. "How much were you listening?"
"Enough. But I did overhear about Dark Half. Ever since I came to this galaxy, I've been sensing something...strange on the other half of the galaxy. Like...something is blocking my powers and preventing me from seeing what is going on over there. Like a dark cloud that completely block out all lights."
"But what about the Grand Paradise System facility?" Sarge asks.
Over at Sarge's position.
"I mean, what is the whole point of that facility? Wait, did Epsilon knew about it?"
Simmons says, "Now that I think about it, it would explain why Ruby got the black box, a galaxy that has those things, and why we're here."
Grif joins in, "Meta-physically or here-here."
"Here-here."
Sienna is checking some of the crates, "Maybe the facility was meant to bring life back into this galaxy." She continues talking while rummaging through, "I mean, the ships we've been encountering were meant to replace the sentient life-forms that have been taken." She then pulls out something.
What she pulled out is a sort of packaged food with the word, 'Chunks' on it and state that it is a cheese steak. There is a cube-shape object wrapped in foil and it is no bigger than the palm of her hand.
"The hell is this thing?"
Ilia takes a closer look, "Some sort of artificial food in a shape of a cube?"
Ghira holds one up and it says it is an apple, "I wonder what kind of people would make cube-shaped food like this?"
"Let's get back about the Dark Half before we are dragged into something unrelated." says Epsilon. "But she does have a point."
"Maybe that whoever took the rest of the people in this galaxy might be hiding in the darkest part of the galaxy. If they were, they should've come and take us away to who knows where."
Ai appears on Church's left and hypothesis, "Maybe there is another faction at play."
Ironwood speaks over the radio, "All I'm hearing is nothing but a bunch of theories. Right now, we should head straight towards the GPS Facility and work on establishing a new home for us and all those on this giant space station. Everyone has agreed to set the course there, so do it."
Aqua, the Ignis not the goddess, appears, "Setting course to the Grand Paradise System Facility now. Initializing full connection on the Spearhead of Hope."
Outside of the Death Star, the thrusters of the Spearhead of Hope started to burst as it pushes the sphere forward.
"Setting course for the Grand Paradise System."
The Death Star re-align itself in order to be in position where the system is located.
"Course set. Initializing warp towards our new home."
Then the ship warps towards the solar system with the facility in order to get what they need to make a new home for themselves in a strange galaxy. Everyone is practically on the edge of their seats as they are ever getting closer and closer to reach their goal. Some are surprised that they aren't going into cryosleep like they thought as many cheer for finding the place. There are a few doubters, but joined in on the celebration. However, some are still exploring the Death Star to see what else is on this bizarre vessel. They keep on finding more species, strange packaged food, strange eggs that are meant for spawning a myriad of creatures, seeds of every single plant life every known, and all sorts of technology. Church keeps on trying to gain access to the file with some help of the other AIs as the security protocols of the file are much more difficult than expected.
However, Ruby and her group found a very peculiar room.
Team RWBY, and Blue Team enter a very strange room with shelves of books with different colors and having symbols on them while others have titles on them. There are also a wide array of purple and black crystals in crates along with staffs, crystal balls, and other peculiar objects that seem magical in nature.
"Oooo." Caboose sounds impressed, "So much reading. I wonder if there are any picture books."
"That's not it." Washington says to Caboose, "This place has nothing but spell tomes."
"For a spelling bee."
Tucker is getting annoyed, "Oh god, please, shut up."
Blake caress her fingers on the books, "There so many of them."
She stops and sees something that isn't a spell tome from Skyrim. The title of the brown leather book says, 'The Standard Book of Spells, Grade 1'.
"This book is different." she glances at the other books that are similar with different grades. "Found something that isn't a spell tome, but some sort of book." She pulls the book out and reads it. "Wand-Lighting Charm? Pumpkin-Head Jinx? Pepper Breath Hex?"
Tucker walks up, "Sounds like something from Harry Potter."
"They are from Harry Potter." Carolina states as she look at the books. She reads the titles, "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Salamander. Book of Potions by Zygmunt Budge. There's even Hogwarts: A History here."
"Definitely Harry Potter."
Weiss says, "I think you guys said something about, 'House Elves'? The things in the tanks not too far from this room. You said they were slaves by wizards."
"They were, according to the books. I even had to read Caboose those books so he can sleep."
"And I did watch the movies!" Caboose proclaimed. "I would love to ride my own broomstick. I tried but they keep on breaking."
"What?" Weiss looks at Caboose with an odd look, "Just how old are you mentally?"
"Got something!" Ruby shouts.
Everyone head on over where Ruby is at and found a room with strange floating containers of a sort made of silver with some sort of blue energy inside. They are roughly the size of basketballs and there are 50 of them.
"What are those?" Yang asks.
"Energy sources?" Carolina theorizes, "Magical energy generators?"
"I don't feel comfortable around them." Ruby feels uneasy as she look into the strange mess of silver and energy that continue to swirl. "Something about them doesn't feel right about them."
"Let me check the manifest." Weiss checks. She looked it up and found something. "Got it. They are repositories of ancient magic. An old and mysterious form of magic that was very powerful yet almost forgotten. Ancient magic appeared in traces, the color of which depended on the nature of the magic, or whispers to those with the ability to harness it whenever a particular form was wielded. Very few witches and wizards were capable of it and had to undertake the proper training. Of the three known inherent wielders of ancient magic, they all began schooling at Hogwarts only in their fifth year, somehow linking the ability with late-blooming."
"Like puberty, but with magic?" Tucker asks.
Weiss is a bit disgusted, "Not really, but close. The only way to contain them is through goblin silver with some traces of ancient magic that were extracted by a pain extraction spell made by, Professor Isidora Morganach. She use it on..."
"What?" Blake asks.
Weiss is disturbed by what she is reading, "She extracted them from various students and her father. She continued to extract all of his pain until he became unresponsive once again, as all emotion had been drained from him."
"Wait, these were made by the pain of students?" Blake steps back and doesn't feel good about it.
"That's why I keep feeling uncomfortable." Ruby says as she takes a few steps back. "I don't wanna be anywhere near these things."
"Yeah." Weiss also reads, "They can also empower casters by absorbing it."
Washington backs away, "Yeah, I have enough headaches and pains for a lifetime. Don't need anymore of them."
Caboose then give his idea, "Maybe they should be filled with happy emotions like the way to power the spell that fight off Dementors."
"Dement-what?" Blake looks at Caboose. "Those books are very strange."
"They're actually worthwhile reading." Tucker praises the books, "Although I prefer to watch the films. More fun than reading."
Blake just roll her eyes as she loves to read.
"Let's get out of here." Caroline orders.
Over where Red Team and the White Fang members are at, they found another storage room yet they discover something...odd.
"I'm I the only one getting a strange feeling from this place?" Adam asks as he place his hands on one of the crates.
"It's not just you." Ghira can also feel it. "There is something...off."
"Should we check the crates?" Simmons ask.
"Permission granted." says Sarge.
Sanchez and Lopez got one of the crates that is black in color yet have a strange symbol that looks like some sort of sword yet technological (think Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy symbol).
"I think I've seen that symbol before." Simmons says as he have seen it before.
"Looks Star Wars." Sarge says as he looks at the symbol.
Lopez opens the crate and it reveals to have containers full of crystals of some sort with a variety of colors. They all seem to be glowing as they light-up the room in a rainbow.
"Holy shit." both Lopez and Sanchez say in unison.
"Are those what I think they are?!" Simmons is astonished by what he sees. He picks one up with a red crystal, "There is no way these are what I think they are."
Ghira is confuse and have no idea what the Reds are babbling about, "What are they suppose to be?"
"Those are lightsaber crystals!" Grif is stunned by what he sees.
"Is it related to Star Wars you guys keep yapping about?" Ilia asks.
"Yeah!" Simmons look at the others while holding the red synthetic lightsaber crystal, "They are what give lightsabers their power and color! Both Jedi and Sith!"
Sarge looks down into the crate, "And there so many different types!"
The White Fang members look at each other and have absolutely no idea on what they are talking about.
Lopez says to the White Fang members, "You guys might wanna see some of the Star Wars stuff. Movies, shows, books, comics, video games. Around many years of works."
Grif says, "Don't show them the Disney sequels. They are not cannon."
"Disney?" Adam asks.
Grif responds, "You know. That one movie we saw. The Lion King. The original 1994 film we saw when we were on that planet when we arrived in this new galaxy."
"Oh yeah."
Simmons says to Grif, "We're gonna have to teach them about some of the cultures of Earth."
Ilia says, "Then why didn't you teach us when we were on that planet for months?"
Sarge agrees, "She does have a good point."
Ghira says, "Then we should teach you about the cultures on Remnant as well."
Sanchez does a robotic sigh, "And there goes my weekend."
Caboose appears behind Sanchez, "Yeah, I have plans on weekends."
"Puta merda!" Sanchez jumps away from Caboose.
Translation: "Holy fucking shit!"
Everyone else gets startled by Caboose sudden appearance.
"Caboose?!" Simmon shrills, "What the fuck?!"
"How did you get here?!" Grif asks.
Sienna points at Caboose and asks the Reds, "How the hell does he do that?!"
"Does he have a teleportation semblance?" Ghira ask them.
Caboose is standing upside down on the ceiling somehow, "What's a semblance again?"
Sarge says, "In a war between the laws of physics and Caboose; Caboose somehow wins." He mumbles under his breath, "Filthy, dirty blue. I want to win against the laws of physics."
Tucker radios, "Has anyone seen Caboose? He wander on his own. Again." He sounded annoyed when he said, 'Again'.
Ilia radios back, "Yeah, he's with us."
Weiss radios, "Wait. You guys are on the other side of this Death Star-thingy, how did he get over there? That shouldn't be possible."
"It's Caboose." Church responds, "He's too stupid that the laws of physics is a concept beyond him." Church has gotten used to Caboose's weirdness.
Adam whispers to Simmons, "Caboose maybe dumb and naive, but he scares me with that ability of his."
"Caboose is beyond human comprehension." Simmons whispers back.
Caboose then disappears.
"Where did he go?" Sienna look around.
Adam look at the crate, "And what happened to all the crystals?"
The crystals that were there were suddenly gone.
"Ah shit." Grif realizes the situation.
An explosion can be heard outside the hall. A small one that didn't do much damage.
Caboose can be heard, "TUCKER DID IT!"
"Yeah." Simmons address to everyone, "Those crystals are known to explode if not handled correctly. Usually by excessive force or being fired at by a laser."
All four White Fang members have their hands up and close to their person as Ilia says, "Good to know."
AN: Hey everyone. Hope you enjoy this new chapter. I am doing fine, but there is a problem I am dealing. My view count for all my stories have remained at zero for two months now. Is everyone else having this issue or is it just me? I am still getting reviews despite having zero views, which is pretty weird. Leave a review just to let me know that people are still reading. Also, is there a way to contact the admin and address this issue or do I have to wait until New Years? I am not getting any e-mails from fanfiction even though I have been putting it on the contact list as it requested. Multiple times in fact. Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving that is coming up. Later.
