John and Angela sat cuddling, kissing and holding each other, for a long while, until they eventually heard a knock on the door.

"Come in!" Angela spoke to the door which opened shortly after, revealing Reinhardt in his festive sweater.

"Alright you two lovebirds!" He said in his booming voice. "Dinner is ready and there's a lot to eat!"

"Thanks Gramps. Be down in a second." John said before giving Angela another kiss, getting a laugh from the old crusader before he closed the door behind him.

"You don't need dinner, you've put on a little weight." Angela teased him as she pinched at his slightly expanding belly.

"You know, funnily enough, metal limbs don't seem to make it easier to lose weight?" he joked as he triggered his right arm to open up momentarily, revealing the internal components before sealing up again.

"Ah, of course. How foolish of me." she laughed before kissing him deeply then standing up. "Shall we sit together?"

"Of course, I just have to make sure I can keep an eye on Ams." he said as he stood up and opened the door for her.

"My, my, a proper gentleman." she teased as she walked through the doorway.

"Damn, insulting me already?" he laughed as he followed behind her.

...

John pushed both Angela's and Amélie's chairs in for them then was getting ready to sit down in his chair in-between them, when a muscular young woman with reddish brown hair turned him around and hugged him, getting a laugh from Torbjorn.

"You did the right thing earlier." she said as she squeezed him tightly for a moment before letting him go.

"Erm, thanks miss...?" he asked, not recognizing the young woman who looked surprised.

"Brigitte!" she said mocking hurt.

"Bullshit." he laughed. "Brigitte only came up to my waist last I saw her, and I specifically told her she wasn't allowed to be taller than me." he finished causing Torbjorn, Reinhardt, and Angela to start laughing.

"Well too bad for you because now I'm taller than both you AND Angela." she teased with a large grin as she began walking back to her chair.

John looked up at the ceiling and spoke to the unforgiving maker of all; "Is there anyone I AM taller than?!"

"Ja, Me!" Torbjorn laughed causing almost everyone to laugh as well, while John's head dropped, his chin hitting his chest before he turned and sat down in his chair, giving up.

"Don't let it get to you. I think you're cute being so small." Angela said with a grin.

"Woman, you are barely an inch taller than me!"

"And don't you forget it!" she laughed, causing the table to break out in laughter again.

"That... Deja-Vu..." John mumbled, slightly puzzled at the feeling of repeating this before.

...

John sat on a couch in the living room fiddling with his computer while Amélie was leaning against him, resting, when Winston entered the room and sauntered over to him.

"So, John, were you planning on returning to Overwatch sometime soon?" he asked cheerfully.

"Unlikely." He replied. "I have a network of militias I am running, Talon servers I'm digging through, and am on the hunt for a couple particular members of Talon. I haven't got the time to worry about rejoining Overwatch with everything on my plate."

"That's... quite disappointing, but I understand your point." Winston replied. "Please, do send us any relevant information you can though."

"That I can do." he said nodding before the ape sauntered over to a woman he believed was named Mei who was chatting with another he vaguely recognized before dinner as D'Va.

He continued scrolling through files until he reached one labeled "Project Starburst" which he doubted was related to the antique candies his mother loved before she died. He opened the file and spent a while looking through, completely oblivious to the world, until he felt Angela sit down in the empty seat next to him.

"So you aren't going to be rejoining us?" she asked softly, not wanting to wake Amélie next to him, who by this point was lightly snoring.

"I want to. Damn do I want to, even if it only means being near you." he said quietly as he put his computer in sleep mode and reached around her to hold her close. "But I have other things to finish first. A few people to save, some to arm, some to kill... well, a lot of each I guess..." he rambled until she pulled his face to hers and kissed him.

"You still talk too much." she teased after breaking the kiss.

"In my defense, I spend so much time alone away from everyone that it's almost nice to have people to talk to." he explained with a smile. "Especially when it's people I ACTUALLY like."

"Yes, I suppose that would help." she said as she rested her head on his shoulder. "Too bad I know you talk to yourself when you're alone too."

"Well I have to have SOMEONE interesting to talk to." he teased.
