Raiden landed in a dark room. The light from above barely pierced the darkness of the pit. Pipes hissed steam from holes in the walls and a single corridor beckoned him to walk forward. There was a dim, red light at the end of the tunnel, so he walked forward.

He walked slowly, unsure of what would come next, the hot air singeing his eyes and nose. The light grew ever brighter as he approached, and under it stood a mysterious figure, in a black suit and a bowler hat, carrying a briefcase.

Raiden walked silently into the red-lit room, the man not seeming to notice his arrival..

"Hello cyborg..." Said the man in an off putting, laborious tone.

"Uh.." Raiden began.

"I suppose you're wondering... where exxactly you arre..." His manner of speaking was droning and messy - not as though he wasn't used to speaking english, but in the way of someone who was barely used to speaking to anyone human at all.

"Yeah, I came through a hole in the ground. Roadworks, am I right?"

The man turned to face Raiden, revealing his face. His cheekbones were high, and his cheeks shallow. He seemed to rock a receding hairline and piercing turquoise eyes.

"My name is... unimportant. Now you may call me. G-Man." Said the G-man, without a hint of sarcasm or humour on his face.

"I'm Raiden, I'm a cyborg ninja-"

"Ex- PMC officer, war criminal, political meddler... I already know everything there is to know about you, Mr. Jack the weapon."

"What are you-"

"It doesn't... matter," the G-man interrupted yet again, "I've been.. interested.. in your exploits ever since... the Big Shell incident."

"What!? How the hell do you know about that? That was a very rough time in my life."

"My employers... are interested in your skillset..."

"Really?" Raiden's face lit up, "you can get me a job?"

"Uh.. yes?"

There was a small silence as neither G-man or Raiden knew what to say to each other.

"I mean as long as I don't have to fight any hot Brazilian Samurai I'd definitely work for you guys."

This statement merely prolonged the silence. The G-man made a frowning expression, despite being the type of person to not have the ability. Finally, he spoke again, ignoring Raiden's comment. "Well, very soon there are going to be some very dangerous problems arising... think of it like this - The multiverse is a metal climbing frame in a park.. and what is about to come is like... all the children falling and slamming their heads on the bars after the welding breaks."

"So what's the job description?" Asked Raiden, "any workplace dangers I should know about?"

"Indeed... there will be a myriad of creatures and people with abilities which will threaten the world. I... need you to.. execute each last one of them... anything you see which is ordinarily impossible- you must destroy it."

"Yeah that should be easy for me. But what about holiday pay? Pension benefits? Any social perks?"

"You will do as you're told, and paid in any way my Employers see fit to pay you..."

"Alright, I'll sign up! That should please the wife... what's my first gig?"

G-man's lips turned up into a plotting grin.

"Oh, not to worry. Just keep... going deeper into this domain... and you'll get to where... you're going..." He pointed down an ornate set of stairs to the left. Bright lights emanated from the bottom of the staircase, reflecting from the white marble.

Raiden began to walk slowly away.

"Thanks for this job opportunity, sir. I'm very happy to work for your company."

"I assure you... we're far greater than a mere company..." The G-man said menacingly, his voice sounding far-off. When Raiden turned back to make a question, the G-man had disappeared, and the red light had switched off.

He decided to simply continue on his path - go forward. The staircase he found himself on was even more grandiose while descending it, than from the room he met G-man in. Pillars lined the walls, marble and beautiful, reaching infinitely high up, until they faded away into nothingness.

The staircase was long and wide, each step forward filled his heart with an oppressive feeling of doom.

It was a strenuous task, but eventually he was reaching the final steps. The air was stagnant and unmoving. No wind or fresh air could persist in this place. A pair of towering gates came into view at the bottom of the staircase, beyond a peaceful looking pavilion, featuring a quietly trickling water fountain.

Raiden could swear he heard the faint sounds of Clair De Lune playing on a quiet piano somewhere nearby, but ultimately was unsure. He shrugged it off, walking up to the large gate which stood before him.

He bust the doors open, revealing a dim room of red. In the middle of the floor was a large vent leading further down into darkness.

Guarding the vent was a strange yellow machine, carrying a double barrel shotgun, it's left arm replaced with a massive chainsaw and its 'head' a long cuboid shape with two misaligned blue lights at the front - vision sensors.

"You're not fully human... are you?" said the machine, peering at Raiden with its strange vision sensors.

"I'm tasked to come down here, and destroy anything out of place I see.."

The machine remained silent. The threatening growl of its chainsaw reverberated the ground.

"And I don't see many chainsaw wielding robots wandering around Wellington." Raiden tapped his forehead tauntingly.

"If you wish to make yourself my enemy, then prepare for immediate battle. I cannot allow you to pass further."

Raiden withdrew his sword, the metallic scrape echoing throughout the room.

MEANWHILE...

The once crowded hall was now deadly silent. literally so, the floor caked in blood and remains of corpses. Sirens of unattended police cars flashed outside the building, their drivers having been slaughtered as well.
