Author's Note

Alright, I have to admit that the first half of this chapter has been written before I even started the last chapter at all. Reason being? I'd been procrastinating, and had no idea how I wanted this chapter to go. There's probably three different versions of this chapter, all entirely different, but none of them made sense to me besides this one.

That being said, I'm very pleased with how it turned out, so I hope you all will be too.

However, bit of a warning. If anyone has read the M rating below once before, then you've likely read about its rating due to blood, gore, and eventual mentioning of certain body parts. Well, that is now here. Without spoilers, there will be mentions and graphical depictions of the female anatomy, although I'll try to keep it at a minimum, this is a mature story after all. You can write about such a subject without making it explicitly sexual after all, despite what some think...

If that makes you uncomfortable, then I completely understand, and as such, once it gets to that point, I'll have you skip to the end of the chapter for the TLDR summary, that way you don't miss anything important to the story. You will see the warning.

Music of the day

Metroid other M - Vorash theme

An explosion of noise announced their presence to the invaders, the sound of the blast doors hitting the ground echoing throughout the entire maintenance hall.

As soon as the Master Chief brought the Mantis around the corner, the remaining Covenant soldiers, as well as a large invading force of Promethean's turned their attention towards him.

"I'll worry about the small fry, you focus fire on the heavy infantry, Samus." The green Spartan said from within his mech, having already begun unloading twenty millimeter rounds into anything within his line of sight.

The response he'd received was in the form of said Bounty Hunter turning what was once a Promethean anti vehicle turret into a gathering of scrap metal, the smoke of a Super Missile detonation serving to be the only thing that ever proved that a turret had even existed there.

The Chief pushed on forward, entering into a long straightforward hallway. Maneuvering the mech through such tight spaces would leave him vulnerable to heavy fire, but he supposed he wouldn't have to worry about that, not with the murder monster sitting atop said mech.

"Master Chief, the moment you get to the outside, you'll need to manually bring the Mac Cannons back online. I can't provide you any cover, so I hope you know what you're doing." Captain Andrew Del Rio spoke up, voice fading into the Spartan's coms.

"I've got it handled, Captain. Me and Samus will push back this invasion, get this ship back into the air." The Master Chief responded sharply.

"For our sake I pray that you do." The aged man grunted, before the coms went cold.

''Boy, he's sure a ray of sunshine, isn't he?'' Cortana mused from within his head.

''It could be worse Cortana. Just, when we get the chance to talk face to face, let me do the talking. If he catches wind of your rampancy, he may order your deactivatio-''

''T-That won't happen!'' She snapped back, cutting him off. Her eyes widened as she clamped her hands over her mouth, as if surprised by her own outburst.

The green man took it in stride. ''Exactly. Which is why I'll do the talking, are we clear?''

''Y-Yes, sorry.'' She muttered, the man gaining the impression that she was biting her lips nervously.

''You let me worry about it for once, otherwise you'll drive yourself insane.'' He said, ending the mental conversation.

A green orb of blistering radiation came flying their way, the fuel rod having been fired by a grunt suicide squad of which he'd already riddled with bullets.

"Samus!" He called out. The Mantis was strong, but its shields had been lowered by the continued attacks from a combination of small arms fire and heavy artillery.

Those weapons would riddle the Mantis and potentially take it out of commission entirely.

Without shifting from her comfortable position atop the cockpit of the mech, Samus swapped from her ballistics, and to her chilling Ice beam. The shot she fired wasn't all that fast, especially compared to the previously used Super Missiles. However, when it made contact with the fuel rod, the green projectile was subsequently frozen solid midair, before falling uselessly to the ground twenty feet from the mech.

"I'll handle it, just get us to the outer hull!" Samus grunted sharply, continuing to target any heavy weapons heading their way.

This continued on for a while, until they made their final approach to the elevator that would lead them to the outside of the ship.

The Promethean resistance tripled, the forerunner defense A.I.'s having prepared anti vehicle turrets in an attempt to stop them.

More then that, a whole platoon seemed to spawn out of thin air just behind them.

Suddenly they were surrounded, and with the Mantis's shield's having fallen, they were dangerously exposed.

"I'll worry about those behind us, you just get us to that elevator." Samus snapped, having spun around to face the enemy troops approaching from behind.

The Promethean's wasted no time before firing massive anti material fire in the form of Incineration Cannon rounds directly at the Mantis. It didn't take a rocket scientist to understand that a single round from a weapon of that caliber slamming into the unshielded Mech would destroy it.

Samus clicked her tongue, thoroughly annoyed by the constant attacks on her person. Her eyes narrowed as she charged up a wide range Ice blast, firing it off before it could reach the mech.

But the Promethean's were fast, and they didn't relent in their attempts. It was all she could do to stop the projectiles from intercepting the Chief's mech, but she had no time to fight off the enemy themselves. If she were at her complete power, this would have been a different situation for them.

Nevertheless, her continued use of the ice beam had the desired effect, and the Spartan was able to get to the elevator with only minimal damage to the mech.

"Captain, we're approaching the outer hull now. What's the situation?" Chief called out after securing his location.

The line was busy for a moment, before the stern face of the captain poked through to his HUD. "The MAC network is reading operational but our EM relays are malfunctioning. You'll have to initiate the link manually."

"Yes sir." The Spartan responded automatically. With that conversation out of the way, he could turn his attention to the Bounty Hunter resting atop his mech. "Samus, how are you holding up?" He called out.

"Just…. G-Get us to the outer hull." The woman groaned back, voice strained.

He was running out of time.

He needed to finish this off and fast.

That being said, they finally arrived at the exit, the blast doors opening to reveal the large open space upon one edge of the Infinity's outer hull. Immediately, the Spartan could pick up two separate Mac cannons on either side, with an array of smaller weapons scattered around the area.

All of them were offline.

More than that, Covenant forces were arriving to put a stop to him. Phantoms appeared, taking little time to track him down and being unloading plasma fire upon him.

"I'll worry about th-the air, you just get that weapon online!" Samus exclaimed, thrusters on her back propelling her high into the air. She flew straight towards the closest Phantom, taking multiple direct hits from the ship's main weapon. Unfortunately, it did little but slow her down, as she landed atop the enemy drop-ship, claws immediately impaling the outer hull, before she began sucking the ship dry.

Within moments, the phantom fell from the sky, all its inhabitants turned to dust. Wasting little time, Samus launched from the corpse of the one ship, and up to the other.

However, after seeing the destruction of his companion, the second ship was wise to immediately pull away, taking to the sky to avoid its untimely demise.

Samus, just missing the ship, snarled in immense discomfort as she was forced to fall back to the Infinity's outer hull. The Hunter hit the ground, falling to a knee, supporting herself with her free hand.

"D-Damnit!" She snarled, the pain in her midsection nearly crippling. Sweat was pouring down her face, eyes stinging from the pain.

If that wasn't enough, five more Phantoms had just appeared to backup the last one. There was little chance that the Master Chief could handle that assault on his own, and the Phantoms were staying far away from her range, and in her condition, she was unable to fly up to take them on headfirst.

There would be no chance to the Spartan to safely exit the Mantis long enough to enable the Mac Cannons, not before being slaughtered by the enemy aircraft.

As quickly as she could, she used her thrusters and returned to the Spartan, clambering to mount his mech once more. Just in time too as a volley of plasma came flying their way, only for her to swing her cannon around, firing a volley of ice right back at it, stopping the attack short.

"We're not going to get anywhere with us both sitting here! If you can distract them long enough, I can get the weapons back online!" The Chief called out, sidestepping another volley of plasma fire. The gathering of Phantoms were relentless in their assault, but their attacks were slow enough for him to dodge. If they got any closer then he'd be in serious trouble, but they were afraid to fall victim just like the first had, and kept their distance.

Instead of responding, Samus launched from her spot, landing out in the open once more. Immediately the phantoms began firing at her, but she took off running, their attacks landing behind her every step.

The Spartan knew her move, having seen her use that immense speed of her once before. The thrusters on her back exploded into action, propelling her forward. With such a massive open space, she was easily able to gain rapid speeds, surpassing two hundred miles an hour within seconds of uninterrupted acceleration.

The Hunter then suddenly stopped, crouching down low as her entire frame began to glow orange. Then she pivoted on her heels, facing the nearest phantom. She jumped, just a few feet from the ground, but a surge of energy surrounded her, and in the blink of an eye her entire body was shot like a bullet straight out of hell, flying right into and straight through the phantom like it was made from paper.

He watched her go, her body disappearing into the phantom, before she exited its side with an entirely different trajectory, flying straight into the second one. Her body was glowing blue, moving so fast she was leaving an afterimage of herself as she used her own body as a weapon.

However, the other three phantoms, seeing her attack coming immediately dropped their soldiers, a group of Elite assassins landing on the ground, all loaded to the teeth with heavy weapons.

The other three phantoms fell, exploding into a fiery mess of sparking rubble.

"Chief, she's got this handled! Just get those weapons online before anything more shows up!" Cortana ranted within his head.

"Right!" Seeing as she'd temporarily pulled their aggression, he leapt from the safety of his mech, making a beeline for the control systems.

The terminal powered on as he approached, luckily having not been destroyed by the attackers. He swiped his hands across it, entering a manual override that would finally bring the weapons back online. It would be a minute for the weapons to power on, but he was sure things would be good from here once they were.

"Hnngh!!" A bloody cough caught his attention as a fuel rod cannon round came soaring past his head, barely dodging in time to avoid an untimely death. But the Mantis was destroyed in the process, leaving him vulnerable.

He spun around, having expected Samus to have dealt with the threat already. She was fast, faster than him, stronger then any Spartan, and more heavily armored and armed then any one person in the universe.

She'd told him to place his faith in her before, and he'd done so again now.

So why was she surrounded, taking fire from all sides? Why was she losing her battle, a battle that she would have won by herself only days ag-

''The babies!'' The man thought like he'd been shot. Of course her movements would be sluggish! She was on the brink of giving birth and she was fighting for her life.

How could he have forgotten such an important detail!?

As for the Hunter, the moment she'd landed from her attack on the Phantoms, she'd felt an explosion rocket across her backside, sending her flying to the ground in a smoking pile. She quickly tried to stand back up, only to receive two more explosions to the face, sending her head snapping backwards alongside her body as she was again floored.

Her vision swam as a hit squad she'd missed up until now unloaded everything they had into her, keeping her pinned to the ground as they fired everything they had. Every time she tried to stand, she was blown away by even more fuel rods, all tearing away at her already lowered energy supply.

Her vision swam as deafening explosions echoed out across the ship, her visor flashing red at the rapidly increasing damage she was taking.

She snarled, blinded as she was, and initiated her thrusters to throw herself to her feet to avoid getting hit again. She successfully avoided their attack again, sliding out of the way before she set her sights on the group in front of her. She took her aim before firing a volley of missiles, tearing attacking forces in half.

"Samus, move!!" She vaguely registered the Master Chief screaming her name. Suddenly her Metroid instincts went wild, as she spun around, slamming her claws into the eyes of the Elite that attacked her. He was dead a moment later, dropping to the ground, dust.

A blaring cacophony of noise exploded around and above her, the Infinity weapons finally powered back on, the ship systems not even hesitating to begin blowing the enemy ships out of the air.

Behind her she saw the Master Chief moving for her, and beyond that another fireteam of Spartan's moving in to assist.

That was great and all, but she didn't seem to even notice that the mission had been complete. She sighed, shoulders slumping in relief.

The man ran up to her, slinging his weapon over his back as he slowed to a jog as he caught up to her. She turned to face him, ignoring the blaring warning on her HUD as something behind the Spartan caught her eye.

Everything happened so fast, and with the smoke coming from the vast amounts of plasma that had struck the ship, it had hidden him well. Too well, in fact.

She didn't know why she did it, her body literally moving on its own. Her eyes widened in horror as she screamed, arm cannon swinging to knock the Spartan aside as a lethal blade of plasma came thrusting for his heart, knowing damn well his armor could not withstand such an attack.

Hers, however, could, and she threw him aside in time to avoid him dying, instead taking the hit herself. A moment later she blew the damn assassin away, leaving nothing behind as she melted him with a charged plasma round.

She huffed heavily, finding it difficult to breathe. Her arm cannon shook where she aimed it, her vision swimming. Had she pushed herself too far so close to their birth, or was something else altogether wrong?

Nevertheless, she turned to face the Spartan, more then ready to get the hell out of dodge and return to the halls of the ship. When she faced him again he looked frantic, almost panicked as he quickly got to his feet again as he ran to her.

At least she thought he looked frantic, it was hard to tell with his helmet on. Also, why was he sideways…?

Her vision began swimming as she fell forward, catching herself with her other foot. The pain she'd felt in her chest from that attack finally seemed to register within her battle logged mind. She froze in surprise, looking down across her breastplate to find the handle of an energy sword stuck to the hilt in her breast.

Her eyes widened, a bloody cough splattering across the insides of her visor. Her energy shields had finally fallen, and the blade had not been stopped.

"Oh…" She muttered in mortified shock, her strength leaving her as she fell to the ground. The last thing she remembered before darkness took her was him reaching out to her…

Then nothing…

Lights flashed before her, images fading in and out at random. Her ears were ringing, sounds blurred and foggy…

Where…

Where was she…?

What had…

What had happened…?

"It's going to be okay, just stay with me!" She heard a voice calling out, his voice familiar. It was so hard to focus, to concentrate on anything…

She just wanted to sleep, to close her eyes and rest…

Vaguely she could feel her body shifting around beneath her, before she was placed onto a cold metal surface…

Why was it cold…? She should've have been able to feel it through her armor-suit…

It made her tired, the cold gripping its hands around her heart. "Stay with me, don't you dare give up now!" The voice shouted gruffly again, sounding unnaturally angry. The voice didn't sound like it was meant to be, it just didn't sit right with her…

"Floor it!!" The voice exclaimed, before her body lurched suddenly, gravity pulling on her as whatever it was she was on took off at high speeds.

Where was she going…?

It just…

It didn't make any…

Sense…

"Here, grab my hand." The voice urged, grabbing her own. She felt a large almost rubber like hand grab her own clawed one. A tiny warmth slowly began filling her body, soothing that terrible pain she'd been suffering the whole time.

Her chest hurt, ached in a terrible pain like she'd been burned from the inside out. But holding his hand soothed that ache somewhat, allowing her to focus on the second most overwhelming sensation slamming into her all at once.

Her belly hurt, ached painfully. She found it hard to breathe, capable of short breaths only. She could feel something wriggling within her insides, trying to break free.

Her eyes widened in panic as she remembered her babies. She reached up with her right hand, placing it on her belly as if to confirm to herself that they were still there, that they were still alive.

She was so out of it that she didn't even register that it wasn't her arm cannon but her completely free hand resting on her belly. In response, the unborn infants bounced up against the walls of her belly, trying to get as close to her hand as possible.

"What the hell happened? How is she still alive?! She took an energy sword through the heart-"

"Soldier, I'm going to need you to calm down. Your silence is needed right now." Finally Samus registered who it was that had been talking so seriously, the voice of the Master Chief echoing out orders. "Samus, come on, don't give up now. You've been through worse, trust me, you can survive this too."

She struggled to hear him clearly over the sound of a roaring engine, whatever it was she was on having been pushed to its limits to get somewhere fast.

Skip to the end if you're uncomfortable with a mildly graphic depiction of birth.

"Captain Lasky, I'm coming in hot. I need access to a medical facility immediately! We've got an emergency, Samus is down." The Spartan called out over his coms, feet planted firmly on the speeding Warthog.

He'd been too slow to respond, his guard down in the worst possible moment. If she hadn't jumped in to save him in time, it would've been his head rolling across the outer hull. He had no idea she'd been so willing to take a hit for him, but it couldn't have gone worse.

The Elite assassin had stabbed straight through her armor, cutting through her heart and lungs before she blew him away. He saw her drop a moment later, reaching out to him in her time of need.

He'd never run so fast, prying her off the ground before making a beeline towards the inner halls of the Infinity once more. He'd quickly run into a squad of Marines that had come to back him up, hopping up into the bed of the vehicle.

"Drive soldier! Get us back to the medical bay nearest our location!" He'd shouted uncharacteristically, urging the surprised marine into action.

"Chief! What's wrong, what's happened?! I've lost bio readings on Samus, what happened?" Lasky's voice came back through, distressed.

"She's taken an energy sword to the chest, I need a medical bay cleared immediately." The spartan responded sharply.

"Chief I-"

"Not the time Commander. She's survived worse before, I just need to get her somewhere safe before it's too late. She's going into labor, and if you don't want everyone here to die, then you'd better clear a medical facility for me."

"Got it, i'll make the preparations as soon as I can." The commander respawned sharply, disturbed by just how urgent the Spartan legend sounded. He'd never heard the Spartan so worried, if he was reading things correctly.

The warthog rounded a corner, coming to a halt beside the elevator bay. The Spartan hadn't even waited before leaping from the vehicle, carrying the dying woman in his arms.

The elevator ride felt excruciating, like it was dragging onwards forever. The commander may not be worried about her birth, but he didn't understand the danger that Samus was about to inadvertently place everyone in.

She'd told him once, what the infant Metroids were like. If she was scary when she lost just a bit of her control, they were even more so. They were impervious to ballistics, and heavily resistant to explosives. She'd mentioned a weakness, but had specifically left that part out.

Case in point, she needed a reinforced room without anyone in it to have her children, otherwise hell was about to open aboard the Infinity.

"Chief, stop at the next exit. Not far is medical bay seven. I've cleared it of all personnel." Lasky chimed in again.

The Spartan didn't respond, hitting the button on the elevator as he took off through the cold metal halls of the ship, speeding past any crew members within his way.

"C-Chief…?" The man nearly froze at the voice, glancing down to find Samus staring up at him. His eyes widened as her armor started glowing orange, becoming translucent as it did. He'd never seen this before, but as it reached its peak color, it stopped. Her entire armor-suit seemed to quiver, as if it were on the brink of collapse. Yet she held on, one glowing red eye narrowed in defiance.

"Power-suit energy supply depleted." Came the audible warning from her armor, signaling its shutdown. However, despite being without power, it remained in some form, held into existence with her willpower alone.

The only thing preventing her from giving birth in his arms right then and there was her Power-Suit, and it was about to vanish. "Please… hurry…" She whispered, with the damage done to her lungs preventing her from saying anything louder.

The Spartan's heart beat hard underneath his chest as he ran, speeding down the halls with loud echoing footsteps, moving as fast as his body would allow him.

"Chief, get me into a terminal once you get in there, I can use the machinery to assist you." Cortana urged from within his head.

It felt like it took hours of running, but was in all likelihood only a few long moments, before he reached the designated room. Sliding to a stop just outside the doors, a flash of light appeared before him. He chanced a glance down to see that her armor had finally vanished in its entirety, leaving her within a torn and battered green under suit.

Immediately her hands went to her lower region, just above the dip between her legs as if to stop the babies for a moment longer, pressing down on her inner tunnel to prevent their birth for as long as she could, deeply terrified of what would happen if she gave birth to bloodthirsty monsters outside of the safety of four walls. She had no reason to assume they would be friendly, and had all reason to assume they'd be deadly.

The spartan was inside the room a moment later, the doors shutting behind him alongside the emergency bulkheads, preventing an easy escape.

"C-Chief, I-I can't-" Samus tried.

"It's okay, you're safe now. There's no one here but us." He placated her, moving to set her down on a medical bed. The moment he'd set her down he turned to the nearest terminal, inserting Cortana into the medical bay's mainframe.

"Where do you need me?" He asked surprisingly softly, standing by her bedside. She looked as if she couldn't breathe properly, but still turned to face him.

"B-Between my legs. I-I'll open my suit." She whispered, struggling. He nodded sharply, moving down the bed to stand in between her legs. Similarly to her Power-Suit, her Zero-suit also seemed to function like the other. With a moment of focus she made her suit vanish, leaving her naked as the day she'd been born. He found himself momentarily lost in her three glowing red eyes, all staring back at him with a mix of fear, worry, concern, and atop that, a hopeful dose of trust. This was her most vulnerable moment, and she was placing her continued care in him.

"Okay, I've got you." The Spartan said, spreading her legs apart to allow the infants an easier time to escape.

"O-Okay…." She hissed, finally letting go. With her muscles relaxed around her lower section, the babies were free to escape.

The Spartan wasn't sure what to expect, whether he was to help deliver the infants like human babies, or if Samus' biology was different enough that it would play out entirely differently.

Suffice it to say, all he could do was wait and watch as they wriggled their way out of her opening.

Samus pressed her back into the bed, unable to withhold a pained groan. She could feel them wriggling around in her stretched womb, trying to find their way out. There wasn't any space left inside her for them to grow, and if she didn't have them now she'd be in far more serious trouble.

It was far different than were she a human with normal children. Human infants aren't even strong enough when inside the womb to do more than wiggle about uselessly.

Metroid's were a whole different beast entirely. They were created to kill, and as such, even within her own womb, they were strong enough to survive on their own the moment they left the safety of their mother.

As such, there was no need to push, and instead all she had to do was relax her muscles, and let the young Metroid's do the work. Which, if she was being honest with herself, was fine, seeing as she had two holes in her chest that were slowly healing.

"I think I see them." The Chief intoned. True to his word, he could see something green within the walls of her opening. He was expecting this to go far slower, but only a few moments later the creature popped free.

The Spartan had to stop himself from rearing backwards in surprise, as he was ready to catch it, only for it to slip free and begin floating upwards like a child's balloon.

Seeing as the woman who was pregnant on the bed was giving birth, he'd made a fair assumption as to what the infants would look like.

He was not prepared to see the creature that hovered in front of him. It was large, the size of his helmet at most. It was made up of a green transparent flesh of some sort, entirely see through, besides the gathering of red nuclei within its center. It had a mouth of sorts on its underside, with two large almost fang-like teeth framing said mouth.

It was distinctly, without a shadow of a doubt, alien.

And he'd no idea what to make of it.

It slowly hover up and away from its mothers opening, slowly flying up towards him.

It was then that something Samus had said some time ago came flying to the forefront of his mind.

"They feed off of life energy, same as me. Unlike me, however, if one manages to latch onto you, there'll be no chance of escape. They'll drain you until there's nothing left of you."

He hadn't forgotten her words that day, but with how busy they'd both been, he hadn't even considered the fact that they would potentially see him as hostile.

He watched it as it moved closer to him, slowly floating upward until it was right in front of him. It shimmied back and forth gently, looking at him like a curious child would something that it found interesting.

Then, it made a gentle cooing sound, before it nuzzled its large bulbous green body against the faceplate of his helmet.

Another sound of cooing could be heard as the second Metroid was born, flying up to join its twin. A moment later came the third and final infant, all three of them hovering before the Spartan.

The Chief had been so surprised and stunned, he forgot he'd been holding Samus' legs open. Gently, he lay her legs back down, allowing the woman to rest.

"Chief… They're…" Cortana muttered, stunned. She didn't know what to say, what to expect. It was the first time she'd ever seen an alien give birth.

The Spartan slowly raised his armored hands, holding them out, palms facing upward. The creatures cooed happily, slowly bouncing around in the air, moving towards his hands.

One stopped by his hand, before suddenly flying to Samus. That was like the signal, as the other two immediately rushed to join their resting mother.

Samus leaned up slightly to get a better look, all three eyes widening as the infants crowded around her, cooing like newborn children to their mother. Gently, she wrapped her arms around them as best she could, pulling them snuggly to her large yet featureless bosom.

She wasn't sure why, as she'd never the intention of becoming a mother before, but…

Looking at the three infant Metroids in her arms now, she couldn't withhold the sensation of motherly love that suddenly overwhelmed her, like it was a secret wish of hers that had finally been granted. That void in her that had been created by the Baby's death at the hands of the Mother Brain had finally been filled, and this time she had room for more than one.

She closed her eyes, taking a deep yet labored breath as she basked in the embrace of her three children. She rest her chin on the one in the middle, pulling it and the other two closely to her breasts. Finally, after all this time, it was over.

She stayed there like that for a while, refusing to let them go as they cooed in delight underneath their mother's embrace. Eventually she looked up, eyeing the Spartan responsible for allowing such an event as this to even take place. Her eyes scoured his body, taking in every detail and damaged or missing part of his armor. His suit had been beaten up somewhat when she first met him, but during their journey together, into all the danger she'd pulled him into, and the same the other way around, his suit was a ruined mess of malfunctioning parts, barely functioning after the last battle.

Yet he'd not once allowed his situation to stop him from helping her. He'd leapt in to save her as many times as she did he, and in her time of need didn't care for himself or his armor, doing his best to get her to where she needed to be when she needed to be there.

Suffice it to say, without his help and rank within the UNSC, she likely wouldn't be here within the safety of the Infinity's walls, holding her newborns in her arms.

And so, she was unbelievably grateful to him.

"Thank you, John…" She whispered, the damage to her body healing quickly. The infants huddled to her had been sharing their energy with her, and had allowed her to heal quickly from her otherwise horrendous injuries.

The Spartan didn't seem like he knew what to say, staring at her in his stoic silence. Finally, he settled for a nod, as if reaffirming what had happened and her gratitude towards him.

However, seeing as he was no longer needed, he gathered Cortana and began to make his way out of the medical bay to meet up with the Captain for his report.

However, before he could get far, she called out to him. "Chief… Could you stay for a little while….?" She asked quietly, showing a rare sign of weakness. He turned back to her, eyeing her from behind his damaged chipped visor.

"Of course, Samus." He said gruffly, moving to join her side.

He had to report to the Captain, but seeing as the Infinity was no longer in any significant danger, he supposed the report could wait for a little bit. After all, he had someone to look after, and without her, he likely wouldn't have been able to get the weapons back online.

The Captain could wait…

TLDR

The Master Chief rushed to the designated medical bay, knowing that Commander Lasky had cleared it for him. Barely managing to get there in time, he sets the woman down on the bed and assists her in her first time giving birth. Not long after, he's surrounded by three identical Metroid infants, all floating around him harmlessly, cooing in delight before joining their wounded mother in a embrace. Samus is deeply grateful to the man for helping her ever since she met him, and shows him her gratitude genuinely.

He stays in the room with her, staying by her side until she is strong enough to move on her own once more. Only then will he go to the Captain and make his official mission report. As of that very moment, the Infinity is in the air and safe from further invasion and attack.
