EPOV (Edward)

It hurt me to do this to my Bella, but after that farce of a birthday party, I couldn't let her stay in this world any longer, she deserved better than this, better than me. She deserved to stay human and live her life as she always should have. I will make it as if I never existed. I asked her to come for a walk, trying to be as unemotional as I could towards her, I started walking and listened to her following me. I knew that I was being a cad, but it was all for her, I just needed to get her to understand.

"Bella, we're leaving," I told her, and she asked me why now, why not in another year. I told her that Carlisle could barerly pass for thirty now and that we would have to start over soon enough anyway. I tried to outwardly show a cold persona toward her, to try and get her to back off and accept what I was telling her, Bella tried to say that she would come with us, but I told her that I didn't want her to come with me, as I knew that she would, Bella interpreted my words for what she saw them to be. That I didn't want her. I listened to her beg me not to hurt her like I was, so I just spewed some nonsense about her not being good enough, which was partially true, after all, vampires were the superior species and humans were meant for cattle. Once I had met Bella though, I knew that was all lies spread by the Volturi.

I asked her for a favour, not that I had any right to do so, but I did anyway, asking her to not do anything reckless or stupid for her father's sake. looking down at her for the first time since I led her out here, I noticed that she looked upset, but under that she was furious. That had me step back from her. I had never seen Bella look like this before and thought I knew her well enough. I told her that her human memories would eventually leave her, as time heals wounds for humans, and she asked about my own memories, but her voice was a stark contrast to what the emotions on her face were. when I told her that my kind is easily distracted, but I won't ever forget.

"Can I say goodbye to your family at least please?" Bella asked me, she sounded broken, I thought about telling her that they had already left, knowing that they all were waiting for me to return before starting to pack up and move on from this town.

"No. They're all gone. I stayed behind to tell you goodbye." I told her; knowing it was a lie. I watched as her eyes narrowed and her jaw tightened. She didn't believe my lie. "Goodbye, Bella," I finished telling her before I ran towards my home.

BPOV

That lying, sniveling little weasel. He stood there in front of me a lied to my face. Knowing that I could run faster than he could I ran to the Cullen home, and waited for the child to return, knowing that when he did, he would spin some bullshit story to make them all leave. By the time I heard him coming close, I walked into the house to see everyone looking rather surprised to see me.

"Bella. Edward is meant to be meeting up with you at your home," Carlisle said to me sounding rather nervous. "Is your cut bothering you?" He asked me walking up to me.

"I know he is, I just left him, and no the cut has fully healed now," I told him before looking directly at him pulling him into my compulsion. Attempting to come off as stronger than I felt right now. "You will stay here, and order your coven to do the same, is that clear?" I said to him, he accepted and went and sat down. I sat over on the piano that Edward loved so much. Waiting for him to finally come into the house.

"Carlisle, we all need to leave, I explained things to Bella, and she would rather not see any of us again and has asked for us all to leave her alone, so I am asking that we all leave Forks," Edward said before he even noticed that I was here in the room.

"No, we will all be staying here, we have settled here, and this place suits our needs," Carlisle said to the child. I thought about calling my brothers and asking them for help, but I really could not risk it right now. I also thought about calling in Caius, getting him to remove these so-called vampires and give them all a re-education. I could also threaten to get my brother involved if he chooses not to. I got rather distracted while watching the scene layout in front of me.

"We need to leave so that Bella can live out her human life, free from the supernatural." Edward tried to argue.

"Sorry, but that ship sailed centuries ago. And since you're all about being easily distracted, I made it easy for you to be able to stay here and be so." I said smiling. Making myself comfortable. I looked over to the rest of his family, whom I had yet to compel, and smiled. Surprisingly Rosalie smiled back, which was surprising. Edward looked at me with surprise, he looked almost scared. I wanted to laugh at his expression. I got off the piano and walked over to Rosalie. Right now, she and Jasper were the only ones that I seemed to trust with any sense of certainty.

"Bella, what are you doing here? I just left you not even two minutes ago. How did you get here so fast?" Edward asked me, and I laughed at him.

"That is none of your business, I just thought I would come here since you are the one that made this about your family, I would come and confront your family. You told me that they're all gone, that you convinced Alice that a clean break would be best, that Carlisle was barely able to pass for thirty, that what happened with Jasper, was expected. So I came to confront them all. And now that you're here, the party can start. So, tell me, family of Cold Ones, what is it about me exactly that didn't seem to fit in with your family?" I asked them all.

"What are you talking about? Edward, did you really say that to Bella?" Esme asked. She seemed rather put out about what was coming to light. Edward was looking a little bit like a fish out of water.

"I…I…I thought… I thought that it would be best to break up with you and let you live out your human life. Your human. You have to be human." Edward said, by the tone of his voice he was getting rather annoyed now.

"You thought wrong. And considering what you told me, it seems, well to me anyway, that you were trying to cover your own ass for some reason. Maybe the fact of my free-flowing blood freaked you out a little too much. Or was it a case of you being a little turned on by my blood? After all, you did say that I was your own brand of heroine." I said smiling, I watched him carefully, something didn't feel right about how Edward was reacting. He kept glancing over at Alice. I looked at Alice and knew she was trying to tell him something using his gift. "What is going on here? What are you trying to tell each other?" I asked the two of them.

The rest of his family didn't seem to appreciate what he had said to me either, which was kind of nice to know that they backed me in all of this, thinking that he was all sorts of wrong.

"Nothing is going on, you know what, you shouldn't even be here, you should be at your home with your father, and what did you mean by that ship sailed centuries ago, you're only now 18 years old Bella, and human, I ran here, and yet you, somehow, got to my own house before me. How is it that you have achieved that Bella?" Edward asked me, getting rather angry.

"As I said, that is none of your business," I told him once again.

"You know what, I'm making it my business, there is no way a human girl can outrun a vampire, and I didn't see your truck outside. So, again Bella, how did you get here so fast?" Edward asked, getting right in my face. He was getting heated. Almost like he had something to hide.

"What are you hiding Edward? You're getting rather defensive." I said narrowing my eyes at him, trying to decipher what could be hiding. Right then he reminded me of my husband.

"I'm not hiding anything at all, I have no reason to do so," Edward said his jaw clamped, while he talked to me through his teeth.

"Edward you're acting like you're hiding something dude," Emmett said, I heard the humour in his tone, he was trying to inject some humour into this situation.

"Keep out of this Emmett, this has nothing to do with you, it's Bella here who is keeping secrets, maybe she's not who she says she is," Edward said his anger increasing.

JPOV

I had to get away, I had nearly killed Bella, Edward's reaction to it all threw me for a loop, I already knew that Bella was his singer, but his reaction to her spilt blood, was not just a reaction of a vampire, faced with the blood of his singer, but of one that was going insane, almost like he was going through drug withdrawal. He was becoming emotionally unstable. With his increasing agitation, I was trying to calm him down but the more I did, the more angry he became. I started to step closer to him, aiming to get Bella away from him, without making any decisions or alerting him or Alice to what I was doing.

I watched as Edward kept arguing with Emmett, but he was getting closer to her.

"No, there is something wrong! She should not have gotten here before even I had! There was no way she could have!" Edward was shouting.

"Edward, you need to calm down, man. There is no reason for you to get this worked up. So what if Bella got here before you did? There could be any number of reasons as to why, and none of them is cause for you to get this angry at her or anyone for that matter. So how about you calm down and maybe go and hunt?" Emmett said, his hands held up to show that he was being submissive.

"No, I don't accept that. I ran from her home to here, and yet she got here before I did, there is no way humanly possible! I want to know how she got here before me! HOW DID YOU GET HERE BEFORE I DID ISABELLA!" Edward shouted. Going up to Bella, his hands on either side of her face, before anyone could stop him he snapped her neck.

BPOV

I couldn't believe it. That bastard snapped my neck and killed me. I listened for anything that was surrounding me, in case Edward was close by once again.

"YOU MURDERED MY DAUGHTER! How are you alright with this!? This is a violation of the treaty. What the hell is wrong with you?!" I heard Carlisle shouting.

I'm going to need something to drink after this. I knew that Carlisle kept blood in a safe in his office for me since he thought I was human, so I could run up and get a bag. I ran up, finding myself in the office and in front of where I knew his safe was. I could still hear them all shouting downstairs—it was rather endearing, really. The majority of them did care for me. However, I did have my doubts about both Alice and Edward.

I made my way back downstairs once I had my blood bag, they all had their backs to the chair that Carlisle normally claimed, I just sat down and waited and drank my blood like it was a Capri sun. They had not even noticed that I had gotten up from where Edward killed me. I had to admit, sitting here watching them all, was humorous.

"How could you kill your mate like that?!" Emmett shouted, grabbing Edward, I noticed that Rosalie looked like she was fuming.

"Bella cared about you, how could you do that! How the hell could you kill your mate? I should turn you to ash before I send your remains to the Volturi. You're despicable. You really don't deserve to have had a mate. Or anyone to care about you for that matter." Jasper said, I was rather surprised that he cared about me so much.

I just sat there and watched them all have a go at both Edward and Alice. Mainly Edward for snapping my neck. It was rather unfortunate timing that my phone alerted me to a message. I wondered who would be contacting me right now, Charlie was not one to text.

RPOV

I couldn't believe what I just witnessed. Bella was meant to be Edward's mate, and yet he just snapped her neck. She didn't deserve what she got, Bella didn't deserve what Edward had done. Emmett and Jasper were yelling at him, and I knew that we all were yelling at him mentally, I was making decision after decision on what I was also going to be doing to Alice because I knew for a fact that she knew about everything and didn't inform anyone. I wanted to tie them both together and turn them to ash. I didn't worry about Jasper as he had let me know that she was not his mate at all. He hadn't even had sex with her for over 40 years, as she had been fucking Edward ever since they moved in with us.

"That is none of your business Rosalie" Edward yelled at me, getting right in my face.

"What's wrong Edward, can't handle that everyone knows what you and Alice have been doing after all. Neither of you are faithful after all." I retorted. Edward attacked me then, but before I knew what was happening, Edward was in pieces out in the backyard and on fire.

"You alright Rose?" Bella stood in front of me and asked. I stood there in shock, we all watched Edward snap her neck.

"Bella? How are you alive?" I asked, I nearly even heard myself ask the question.

"Well, it's not that easy to kill me, many have tried, all have failed. By the way, I already knew about Edward and Alice's affair, they were not as secretive as they thought that they were. Also, if you're worried about Charlie, don't be, he knows already." Bella told us all. Alice's scream alerted everyone, I turned and saw her outside standing over Edward's remains trying to put out the fire. In all her attempts to put out Edward, we watched as Alice caught alight herself and ended up as ash.

"He should be ash in a matter of seconds. Sorry by the way for killing your son, Carlisle and Esme." Bella said going and sitting on the chair, she picked up a bag and started to drink from it.

I just watched her, for a second before it registered with me that she was drinking from a blood bag. I looked over at Emmett, and he was just as shocked as I was. We all heard her phone ringing then and watched as she rolled her eyes.

"Sorry about this," Bella said as she answered the phone. I could see the hurt on her face as she looked at the caller ID.

"Yes," We all listened to her say, but she had an accent.

"Isa, thank god you answered; I felt your death; are you alright? Who did this to you?"

We all heard an English man say to her. He sounded worried. And how could he feel her death?

"I'm fine, yes I died, some fool of a cold one thought me human, and decided that he didn't like that I was faster, and snapped my neck, I only just woke, now what is it that you really want?" Bella asked. She sounded dead on the phone.

"As I said to you, I felt your death, and I worried. Can you tell me where you are so I can come and check on you, at least give me that much, or let me send one of our brothers or our sister,"

The English man said to her. She has siblings? We all thought that she was an only child.

"No I will not tell you anything, for one you don't deserve to know anything, and you know this fact very well. If you want to know why then just ask that slut of a Petrova, and if our siblings really want to see me, they all have my number. Goodbye." Bella said angrily. "Sorry about that; he doesn't know when to give up," Bella said before going back to her bag of blood and finishing it.

"Bella, we all watched Edward snap your neck and kill you," Esme said to her.

"Yes, I was dead, but as I said to Rosalie, it's not that easy to kill me; many have tried, and all have failed," Bella said with a smile.

"How?" Carlisle asked

"Well, for one, I'm a vampire; I'm not a cold one. Obviously, you might as well sit down," Bella told us, and we did. I didn't know if I should feel angry that she lied to us or thankful that she was no longer dead. I was rather conflicted.

"Why didn't you tell us before now?" Emmett asked. I could hear the hurt in his voice. I put my hand on his leg and tried to ease his pain.

"I didn't know if I could trust you all, I had a feeling that something was going on with Alice and Edward, and I didn't know who knew; once I found out, I attempted to figure out who knew about them sleeping together, and when none of you told me, but I witnessed all of you confronting them both at different times, I figured that you would rather me be hurt by them both, rather than telling me the truth, so I, in turn, didn't tell any of you anything either," Bella said to us all. "Don't get me wrong, Rosalie did give me enough hints that a human should have been able to figure out that her boyfriend was cheating on her, and for that, I am thankful, but what excuse do the rest of you have? I can understand Jasper, after all, it was his companion that was sleeping with her brother." Bella said to us all, calling out everyone for not telling her about the affair.

"You said that you're a vampire; how long have you been one?" I asked her.

"A while, with my kind, the older you get, the faster and stronger you are, while the younger vampires are still stronger than humans but still weak in comparison," Bella answered without really answering the question.

"Who was that on the phone? You were feeling a lot of anger towards him, but when he mentioned your siblings, you felt love and longing." Jasper asked. We all heard her sigh, and I wondered if she was going to tell us the truth about him.

"He is my husband. We married when we were both humans before his father killed us, and he cheated on me; I do love our siblings, well, his siblings, and I miss them immensely." She sounded so heartbroken and hurt.

"So if you get faster with age, how old are you? ' Because you were near invisible to us when you were moving,' Emmett asked.

"Old," Bella said. I went up to her and hugged her. She was so broken; whoever this man was did not deserve her.

"He doesn't deserve you if he can break your heart like this," I whispered to her.

BPOV

Rosalie sat with me and told me that my husband didn't deserve me; I had to wonder about that; I never felt that I was good enough for him or his family, and that was made clear when he took the side of the doppelganger over his own wife. I curled up into her side, thankful for the comfort that she was offering. Listening to the rest of the Cullen family talking about what they were going to do. I knew that once my husband found me, I would pay for how I spoke to him, and he never offered to send his siblings to me; I was not allowed to see them. For how caring he was on the phone, told me that he was with his siblings and he was trying to put on the act of caring for me. He and I both knew that it was just that, an act.

"Why did you kill Edward?" Esme asked me.

"He attacked Rosalie; that sort of behaviour is never acceptable; any person who tries to attack another out of anger will receive the same response from me. If they are human I would have just drained them, if they were my kind of vampire I would have staked them, your kind, tear them apart and burn the pieces." I answered like it was the most obvious thing in the world. I ended up calling Charlie later that afternoon and letting him know that I would be staying with the Cullens for a little while and that I would be home in a couple of days; I also removed the compulsion from Carlisle so that he could go back to normal.

Over the next couple of days, I listened to and answered a multitude of questions about how my kind of vampire is turned and the process that surrounds it. Most of the questions come from Carlisle. The questions I received from Rosalie and Esme were mainly about my husband and family, none of which I wanted to answer, but I answered vaguely so that they could be at least somewhat satisfied.

CPOV

My son was dead; he had killed his mate, my daughter, and then she came back to life and killed my son, there was not much that confused me these days, but that was one, each of us believed that Bella was human, we all heard her heartbeat, watched her eat human food, we all knew that she slept, and yet, now we discover that she had been a vampire all this time. I was not even aware that there was another kind of vampire out there, I had believed all my life, that the cold one vampire was the only one in existence. I needed to call Aro and ask if he knew about these other vampires. I couldn't help the feeling that these others were more dangerous than my kind ever had been. I couldn't believe it, I had treated Bella in the hospital on several occasions, and yet we discovered that she was never in any harm. How am I to lead my family with this knowledge?

I had come back to work and was in my office, waiting for Aro to pick up the phone so that I could ask him about this other breed of vampire. With Bella in my home, I did not want my family to overhear this conversation.

"Yes, who is this?" I heard Aro ask once he answered the phone.

"Aro, how are you, old friend?" I asked.

"Carlisle, I am well, how are you and your family?" He asked me. But even I could hear the question in his tone as to my sudden call.

"They are all well. I am calling to learn from you three, if I may." I asked. He was silent for a moment before calling his brothers and asking me to carry on once they arrived. "We have recently discovered another breed of vampire and wondered if you three had any knowledge about them and what you could tell me," I asked the three.

"Well, yes there is another bread of vampire, they are even older than the first of our kind, the first family, the Mikaelsons; all vampires are descendants from these six vampires, five are blood siblings, Finn, Elijah, Klaus, Kol and Rebecca; then one married into the family, no-one ever discovered which of the siblings was married, and who it was too. The family are always very secretive about that. I suggest that if you ever see any of them, leave the area immediately, as well as let us know where you saw them. If you can stay away from the ones known as Klaus and Kol, they are both the most unhinged, Klaus, we have heard has broken his curse and is now even more dangerous than any of the siblings, he is a hybrid, both werewolf and vampire, and well, Kol is the embodiment of a sociopath." I heard Caius saying to me. He sounded almost scared of this family.

"Carlisle, why is it that you ask?" Marcus asked me.

"I have heard rumours of another breed of vampire coming this way, and I felt the need to ask you about them and if they were any danger at all," I said, trying to keep the knowledge of Bella a secret.

"If they come closer, I suggest you move your family immediately. It is not worth losing your lives over." Aro said to me.

"I will do so," I answered. We talked for a while longer before we all said our goodbyes and hung up the phone, when I was about to finish my shift at the hospital, I was called to an emergency; someone had been shot; from what I could hear, there had been an armed robbery at the local gas station, I was called to assist the victim. The shock that I felt when I saw that it was Charlie Swan, I worked harder than I ever remember doing, I knew that this man meant something to Bella, so I did everything to save his life. I spent hours in surgery trying to save him, but in the end, even with my enhanced senses, I was not able to save him, and he succumbed to his injuries.

After writing up the report that was required, I left the hospital, letting the deputies know that Bella was currently staying with my family if they wanted to let her know the news. One of the deputies let me know that he would follow me back home so that he could inform Charlie's daughter of her loss. I nodded and left to return home. Once home, I sat there and watched the scene before me, watched as Bella was given the news of Charlie's death, I felt rather mad about being lied to by her, I let her into my family, and thought of her as a daughter, and now, we find out that she is a vampire, of another breed and according to Aro, Caius and Marcus, they are so much more dangerous than Cold ones could ever be. And now I have one sitting in my lounge being comforted by my mate and my cold one daughter. Do I believe what I have been told by my oldest of friends or do I believe what is right in front of me.

Bella looked to be a wreck, the police left, and Bella was left here, still physically upset about Charlie's death.

"Carlisle, you're putting out some rather hostile emotions there. Do you want to tell me why that is?" Jasper asked me. I looked over at him and decided to just confront her. After everything that the brothers said, I couldn't help feeling betrayed.

"Give it up, Bella. Charlie was nothing but a cover for you, wasn't he? So why are you so upset about his death?"

"If you must know, Charlie was my many times over grandson; his death does affect me. If you don't mind, I need to inform my husband of our grandson's death." Bella snapped at me; Esme came up to me and asked what was wrong with me.

"I talked to the brothers today, apparently if we hear of Bella's breed of vampire coming close to us, we are to run, and leave immediately, they are extremely dangerous," I told my family as I watched Bella talking on the phone.

"You can't believe that Bella is dangerous," Esme said to me, not believing what was right in front of us.

"She killed our son, and we lost our daughter because of her as well, also Bella felt the need to hide from us all what she really was, if she wasn't dangerous, then she would not have hidden away," I told my family, who were all listening.

"If that was the case then why didn't we tell her right away what we were? If we are not all dangerous as well why don't we be honest and tell the town what we are? It's simple, we don't because for one it's the law and two, we don't due to survival. Find another argument, Carlisle, because that one, is really weak." Jasper told me.

"He has a point. You don't tell anyone for the sake of your survival. I don't for the same reason. The other reason is that I did not want my family to find me. I don't have much family left, and now I have even less. If you want me to leave Carlisle, you need to just tell me." I heard Bella say. She did look terrible. She said her goodbyes to my family and walked out the door.

BPOV

"Hello," my husband said, answering his phone.

"Our grandson is dead. He was the Chief of Police and was killed in a gas station robbery. I thought that I would let you know." I informed him.

"Where are you, my love," my husband asked me.

"Forks, Washington State," I told him. As much as he hurt me, I needed him now one of our last descendants had died.

"I'll be there in a few hours with our family. Can you text me the address you're currently staying at, please?" he asked me.

I thanked him and hung up the phone to hear Carlisle complaining about me and how dangerous my kind of vampire is. I wanted to laugh at that, considering cold ones are the venomous breed of vampire. I decided then that I was going to leave and go back to Charlie's. I needed time before my family arrived, and I told the Cullen family as much.

Making my way back to my grandson's home, I walked in, locking up the house as I went, and took myself up to bed to try and get some sleep.

RPOV

I couldn't believe Carlisle; how could he turn around and accuse Bella of being dangerous? If anything, we were the dangerous ones, considering our kind of vampire, was venomous, from what we had discovered, Bella's kind, was not, and they could feed from humans without killing them or turning them. I spent the next few hours yelling at Carlisle for this and told him as such about the venom, but I could see that he didn't believe me and didn't want to listen. Esme was just as mad at him as the rest of us were.

I was about to say something else to my father when we all heard two cars coming up the driveway, I knew that we were not expecting anyone, so I had to wonder who this was. Walking up to the front door and opening it, I watched five people exit the cars, four men and a striking blonde woman,

"Good morning. I am Elijah. We have been informed that Isabella is here. May we please see her?" a tall man in a suit asked me.

"Hello, I'm Rosalie. I'm sorry she is not here right now, but I can call her and ask her to come over. Would you like to come in and wait for her?" I asked Elijah.

"Thank you. Yes, we would like to wait." He smiled at me, but something was off about his smile; he looked almost angry. I introduced everyone to the newcomers once he and the others came inside.

"This is my family: my parents, Carlisle and Esme, my brother, Jasper and my boyfriend, Emmett," I said, going over to stand next to Emmett.

"Good morning. I am Elijah, and these are my siblings, Finn, Niklaus, Kol and Rebecca. As I said to your daughter, we have been informed that Isabella is here and have come to see her." Elijah said, mainly speaking to Carlisle and Esme.

"I'll just give her a call," I said as I left the room. Dialling her phone number, I waited for her to answer.

"Hello, Rosalie," Bella answered.

She sounded like she had an English accent.

"Hi, Bella; there are some people here who are asking for you. I said I would call you and ask you to come over," I said to her. I could clearly hear the hurt still in her voice.

"Thanks, I'll just get dressed and be over there in a couple of minutes," Bella told me.

I hung up and went back to tell our guests that she wouldn't be long. I walked back to the living room to find Carlisle shouting at our guests,

"Sorry about this, Mom. Maybe it would be a good idea to take Dad out for a while, maybe get something to eat?" Emmett said to Esme, trying to act more human for our guests. She nodded and had to apologize while she literally pulled Carlisle out the front door and away to go and hunt. Emmett and I didn't have a chance to talk to our guest when Bella walked through the door.

"Thank you Rosalie for letting me know of their arrival," Bella said, she looked like she had been crying. Walking up to her, I hugged her and asked her if she was alright, giving me a weak smile she told me she was alright, before introducing our guests again, but this time, she introduced her family and husband.

"Rosalie, Emmett, this is my…family. Finn, Klaus, Kol and Rebecca," Bella introduced her siblings, smiling slightly as she said their names, "and my husband Elijah." Bella continued her voice turned cold, there was no love lost between them, at least on her end.

I watched them all respond to her introduction. They all smiled lovingly at her, even Elijah; he loved her. I wanted to know what was going on between the two, but I decided to ask her about it later on.

"Emmett and I will leave you all to catch up. We have some errands to run, and Mom and Dad shouldn't be home for a while. They went out to get something to eat," I told Bella, letting her know that she had the house as long as she needed. I knew that Emmett and I still considered Bella family.

Once Emmett and I got far enough away, I stopped and sat down on the nearest fallen log. I looked up at Emmett who honestly looked rather worried.

"What do you think is Carlisle's problem with Bella?" Emmett asked.

"I don't know, but I think it has something to do with his talk with the Volturi. I think he learned something about Bella's kind of vampire that has scared him, and if the brothers are telling him that Bella's type of vampire is dangerous, then it's obviously something really bad. I personally would like to know what that is, Bella hasn't done anything to put us in danger at all. Yet Carlisle's turned against her. He treated her like a daughter, right up until Edward snapped her neck, I noticed the change in him then, but I still cannot figure out why he changed." I said to my mate. I ran my hands down my face, I was feeling so overwhelmed, questioning why it was that my own family turned like this on the young girl, that we all thought was human. It was like as soon as she became supernatural, my family, to a degree, were out for blood.

EPOV

I heard from Isabella that our grandson had been killed in the line of duty, to find out that he was the Police Chief of a small town in Washington state. I sat on the sofa for a few minutes, just wallowing in the loss, I asked my wife to send me her location so that I would be able to attend the funeral of our grandson; not long after I got off the phone with Isa, I heard my siblings enter the house, I should have cared and gotten up to greet them and ask them all how their day has been overall, but I found myself not caring so much.

"Elijah, please can you inform our brother, that the world does not revolve around him please." I heard Rebecca ask of me. I didn't bother to say anything; her problem with Kol is something that she needs to fix on her own for a change.

"Come on, Becca, all I asked was that you talk me up a little, to the lovely young lady who sparked up a conversation with you, what is so hard about that?" Kol asked her.

I didn't want to hear their squabbles any longer. I walked to my office and sat down, I just wanted to be on my own for a while, Isabella and I had lost another of our descendants, and there were not many left now; each one we lost was just as hard to deal with and felt like we were losing our firstborn once again. Considering that I never wanted children with Isabella. I was rather confused as to why I was feeling this loss at all. I heard my phone alert me to a text message, looking I saw that it was my wife, sending me the address where she was staying. A little town called Forks. Running up to my bedroom, I started to pack when I saw Klaus standing in my doorway.

"Where are you going?" My brother asked.

"Isabella called, letting me know that our grandson had died in the line of duty. She sent me the address of where she is staying at the moment and I am leaving to be with her and attend the funeral." I told him. I watched as he stood straighter, before running out of the room, it was seconds later that I heard the commotion of my siblings all in their own bedrooms and what sounded like packing a suitcase.

"We are all coming with you brother," Finn said to me, coming up to me and pulling me into a hug, attempting to comfort me.

Once we got on the road, it took several hours of continued driving, all of us taking turns to drive so that we could reach our destination faster. All in all, it took shy of 40 hours to get to my wife's location, once we pulled into the driveway, we all noticed how ostentatious the house was, I knew immediately that it was not where my wife was living, as this was not her style at all. This was someone else's residence.

"Good morning, I am Elijah, we have been informed that Isabella is here, may we please see her," I said to a blonde woman who came out to meet us.

"Hello, I'm Rosalie. I'm sorry she is not here right now, but I can call her and ask her to come over. Would you like to wait for her?" she asked me once she introduced herself.

"Thank you, yes we would like to wait." I smiled at her, we followed the young woman inside the house, noticing four others standing around.

"This is my family, my parents, Carlisle and Esme, my brother, Jasper and my boyfriend, Emmett," Rosalie introduced us to her family.

"Good morning. I am Elijah, and these are my siblings, Finn, Niklaus, Kol and Rebecca. As I said to your daughter, we have been informed that Isabella is here, and have come to see her." I said introducing my family and myself, there was a sudden look of recognition on the father's, Carlisle's, face. He had heard of my family.

"I'll just give her a call," Rosalie said to me, before walking off to call my wife. When the young lady went to call my wife, the father, after hearing our names, decided to start berating us, for some reason, he was under the delusion that we were highly dangerous and would kill his family, so he demanded that we leave immediately.

"Caius been telling tails again, has he? Maybe Kol and I should go and visit them, after the last time they tried something of this nature it worked out so well for them then." Klaus laughed. Which seemed to enrage the man further. His reaction told us all we needed to know, that this was a family of cold ones, who knew about us, or at least been told a bunch of lies about us designed to garner favoritism. I was debating whether to let my younger brothers go and deal with the Volturi but wanted to know that my wife needed to take precedents.

I didn't have to wait long before I heard another coming up to the property, I knew that it had to be Isabella, and was proven correct when she walked in. Once again introduced us all to these people and introduced me as her husband. I smiled when she did this, happy to know that she still thought of me in that way, even though her tone was rather cold towards me, I just looked at her with love, she was my mate after all, and I had no idea how to win her back.

"Isabella, can we please talk in private?" I asked my wife. She nodded and walked towards the stairs, I followed her up to the third floor and into a bedroom.

"This room is no longer in use, so we can talk in here," Isa said to me, I could hear the sorrow in her voice. I could see the evidence that she had been crying. Taking a step towards her, I pulled her into me and just held her. Whispering how sorry I was that she lost another grandchild.

"I can't do this anymore; I can't stand by and watch or hear about any more of my children's children dying. It's killing me, I can't. I can't do this alone, with everything that has happened between us, and with all the family I've lost, I can't do this anymore. I tracked down a white oak stake, I want you to kill me, once and for all. You already killed me emotionally when you went off with Katerina, I ask that after the funeral, you finish the job." Isabella said to me. I thought about doing this to her, it would finally free me of her annoying presence in my life.

"No. I will not kill you; I made a vow that I would stand by you, love you, that you would be my one and only, I have tried to talk to you about everything to do with that strumpet, and yet you push me away and every turn. I have tried to do everything that you have asked of me, I have asked you what else I can do to get you to believe me, and you only walk away from me. I tried to tell you about her manipulation when you walked in that night, but instead, you left and have been punishing me ever since. I gave you my word that nothing happened between her and me, that I have only ever been faithful to you. What else do you want from me, I will do anything, but I will not kill you." I said to her. If anyone was going to kill my wife, it would be me, but within my own time and discretion. I needed her to believe this. But it was not like she wouldn't, after all my wife loved me still.

"Fine, do what you will then Elijah, I am tired of it all," Isabella said to me before walking out.

I ran and grabbed her to stop her from leaving, pulling her back into the room.

"No, we need to fix us, once and for all, we need to do this. Clearly, you're miserable, well guess what, so am I. I want you by my side once again. I am tired of not having you next to me; sharing in all eternity has to offer us. We stood in front of our family and promised each other always and forever, not knowing that we would soon be tuned into what we were. Then after we made that same pledge to each other, and what, you tire of us as soon as that Petrova comes in and tried to manipulate me away from you, I told you that I sent her away, I told you that our brother needed her to break his curse, one that we both were helping him break. Tell me why you really lost faith in me so quickly," I asked her.

"Fine, I heard you that night. I heard you telling our brother, that you were falling in love with her, but you didn't know what to do about me, so I made it easier for you, I left. I let you have her, just like you wanted. I thought that after the loss of our daughter, you would have come around after all, I knew that you always acted Nobel, but in reality, you never were, I knew about all those women that you bedded. Just like I knew that you bedded Tatia on our wedding night and when we lost our firstborn son. You never came to me for comfort, you never thought to offer me comfort, you just went out and found someone else, I was meant to be your wife, and I thought that you loved me. But I was nothing but a replacement for my sister. I knew about them all. And I knew each time you slept with one of the doppelgängers. I knew about you sleeping with the latest one, Elena Gilbert, as well. I begged you to never do that again, begged you not to hurt me like that again. Yet not once have you been as faithful as you claim to be. I was nothing but your backup when you couldn't get anyone else. Well, no more. This is the end. Good Bye Mr Mikaelson." Isabella said to me, pulling herself away from my grip. I heard her telling my siblings where the funeral would be if they wanted to come along, but was not expected.

I was furious with her. I wanted to make her pay. I knew that there were no other grandchildren out there, that this was, thankfully, the last one. Thankfully I would not have to attend another of these blasted funerals.

"Out of all of us, at least we were honest about our affairs, even Finn slipped up with Sage, but at least he was not stupid enough to keep cheating on his wife, Isa never should have been second to anyone. She deserved better, and when she asked you to stop, you go out and find another to stick your cock into, if you didn't want her, maybe you should have told Father. Never has the Nobel Elijah fallen so low." Kol told me. Leaving the house.

"We are guests here, I suggest trying to find a hotel while we wait for the funeral to begin," Finn said again from the door. I nodded in agreement. Pulling out my phone and looking for a hotel that was relatively close by. I found one and booked it. Leaving my siblings with the car, I ran to the hotel in Seattle.

BPOV

I had made up my mind before I told Elijah where I was, I decided that this was the end, I couldn't put up with his cheating any longer, I was so happy in the early days of our marriage, I had thought that he had chosen me, once our daughter was born, he seemed so happy that we had a family when we discovered that we were once again with child, I was happier than I had ever been. Then I walked in on my husband having sex with my sister, days later our daughter fell ill and despite all of Esther's help, our daughter died. I tried to be positive for Elijah's sake and for the sake of our unborn child. With no luck.

I knew that my sister thought that she had succeeded in stealing my husband, she went around the village telling everyone who would listen that he never wanted me anyway and that Mikael had forced Elijah to marry me. I knew that she was jealous that I was the one to marry into Elijah's family, I knew that she believed for a while that she was going to be the one to marry Elijah, and when she discovered that it was going to be me, and not her, she started the rumours.

Tatia made my life hell, but she got what she wanted in the end. Once they saw my husband, all the doppelgängers got what they wanted.

No longer would I put up with this, he was supposed to be my mate, he said that each time he looked at me, he felt like a rope was pulling him closer to me, I admit, I felt those same feelings, I knew he was telling me the truth when he said he felt my death, I have felt each one of his.

"Isa, can we talk?" I heard Kol ask. I smiled and nodded, welcoming him into Charlie's home.

"I want to apologize for what my brother has done to you, the pain he has caused you, I heard what you asked him, I'm here to beg you, please don't kill yourself over him," Kol said, he actually dropped to his knees and begged. I knew that Kol never did this. He was too proud.

"Kol, I'm sorry, but I cannot go on like this, I feel it each time he dies, I know when he is unfaithful, I cannot keep living like this. I don't have the strength any more; Charlie's death was the last straw. He was the last of our grandchildren, there are no more." I said, I felt the tears fall, Kol stood and pulled me close, giving me comfort, I had always had time for both Kol and Klaus, not so much the others, but I didn't get to spend a lot of time with Rebecca.

"I'm so sorry that you have lost so much. If my brother was not such an idiot he would have seen you for exactly what you are, a treasure worthy of protection and love, always and forever." Kol whispered. I found myself wondering why couldn't I have been with Kol instead, we were similar in age, with Kol only a year older than myself. I just broke down in the arms of my brother-in-law.

The entire time he was comforting me, his phone kept ringing, alerting him to text messages he was receiving, the entire time he ignored his phone.

"Don't you want to answer that?" I asked him

"Why would I? Right now you're more important than anything or anyone." Kol told me. I couldn't believe it, I had forgotten what it felt like for someone to put me first for a change.

"Why am I never good enough for your brother?" I asked.

"Because he has shit taste in women, if you ask me, you were the better choice. The doppelgängers are nothing but weak manipulative whores." Kol told me. I had to laugh at that. Considering my sister was one. I couldn't stop the tears, no matter how much I tried, I couldn't remember ever feeling like this with anyone else.

"He should have treated you like a queen, not a servant, if you were mine, I would never have let you go," Kol told me.

"Why couldn't I have been with you instead? Have you as my mate?" I whispered, "I can't be with Elijah anymore Kol. He has broken me, I wish he would just kill me, he keeps saying that he made a vow to me, but I know that he never took it seriously, not like I did, I tried Kol, I tried, I gave him everything, I gave him a son and a daughter, but I was never good enough so they were taken from me, so I tried harder to be a good wife, to him and all I got was betrayed. I thought I was good enough when our third son lived, and I was able to watch him grow and have children of his own." I said getting increasingly angry and upset, I was cut off from my increasing rant, by a pair of lips.

KPOV

I had wanted to kiss Isa from the first time I met her. I remember asking my father once I came of age if I could marry her, knowing that she was all I would ever need, but instead, my father organized Elijah to marry Isa, and I could tell immediately that he didn't want to be in the marriage, he wanted to marry Isa's sister, Tatia, for over 1000 years I have been in love with my brother wife, hating him each time he took advantage of her. Each time I have wanted to stick a white oak stake into my brother's heart for hurting this angel in front of me.

Everyone thinks that Elijah is so honourable and Nobel, all because he dresses in a suit and talks all posh with his big words, but he's the biggest asshole I have ever known in my existence. Isa never knew how many children he truly had with half of the village behind Isa's back, she trusted him to be faithful and he never has been, he just never liked the idea of her catching him at all. Alway thought he could get out of it, by spouting some bullshit about their vows when he never took them seriously.

"Kol, we have to stop. I'm married to your brother, even if he isn't faithful, I will be. I can't do this, as much as I want to, especially with you, I can't. I'm sorry." Isa told me, she turned and left me standing there. I had dreamt of kissing her for the last millennia, tempted to save her from my idiot brother. Knowing that she would be loyal, just as much as I knew that Elijah would keep chasing the doppelgänger, as well as anyone else that he deemed better than his own wife.

I stood there for a time before I pulled out my phone and checked who had called and texted me. Funnily enough, it was my idiot of a brother.

"What do you want Elijah?" I asked once he answered his phone.

"I need you to convince my wife that I am faithful, that I believe in the vows that I made her."

"Well too bad, I'm not going to help you cheat on your wife, one, she deserves so much better than you. Isa always deserved better than you Elijah."

"I know that you are in love with my wife, Kol. Honestly, you need to stay away from her. I will make you if I have to."

"I don't care that you know about my feelings Elijah, but know this, I will make sure that she gets what she wants, even if it's her own death, just to get rid of you. I will help her. Why don't you go and find some whore to fuck, your good at doing that, prioritizing your own cock over the needs of your wife." I told him before hanging up my phone. I called Klaus and asked him to meet me here at her home.

Thankfully I didn't have to wait long.

"You need my help? To get Isa away from Elijah I take it?" Klaus asked.

"Isa wants to die, she's had enough of all of our brother's cheating ways, and the death of their grandson was the last straw for her. Elijah never deserved her. He never loved her. Will you help me, brother?" I asked him

"Absolutely. But you might be surprised at who else is on your side regarding our dear sister-in-law." Klaus said to me. "Rebecca is with her now. She is just as angry with our brother as the rest of us are. I have had a lawyer look into their marriage, a few years ago, and discovered that Elijah has made sure to keep his marriage legally up to date, so there is a way that Isa can legally divorce Elijah if she should so wish it." Klaus continued.

"That is the best news that I have heard in centuries. But it begs the question, why has he done this? What is Elijah having to get out of having a paper trail of his marriage to Isa?" I questioned.

"By the looks of it, since they separated, Isa has become quite the independent little woman, there have been several business ventures that she has undertaken that have been very lucrative, and with her still being married to our brother, he is getting a rather large share of that income, I am not yet certain if she is aware of this, but when I discovered it, I made steps to make sure that she kept her money, and our brother did not get a single cent," Klaus told me.

"Thank you, brother, I'm sure that Isa would thank you too if she were to discover this." I smiled at my brother. I locked up the house we just exited and he took me to Isa, where I heard Rebecca telling her that she was more than able to divorce my good-for-nothing brother.

"Becca, if I could do it, I would have done so centuries ago. But there is no way to prove that I married him over a thousand years ago, and what lawyer would take that case?" Isa asked, she still sounded like she had been crying.

"If you could, is there not someone that you would want to be with instead of Elijah?" Rebecca asked her.

"Yes, there is. I've loved him for as long as I can remember, but I can't. I knew for one that Elijah would fight me on it. I'm nothing to him, but I knew that he would fight me, and I don't want to put your family in the middle of that. You are all his siblings. Family comes first. I know that." Isa told her.

"Well sister, it is your lucky day. I have discovered that Elijah has registered your marriage and kept you married every few decades, there is a paper trail, and I have a lawyer on hand should you decide that you do want to divorce him. You only need to say the word and I will make the call, the lawyer just so happens to be in Seattle, so I can take you to him now if you would like." Klaus said letting her know that we were there.

"Yes. I can't be with him any more. I need to be able to put myself first for once. I need someone to put me first like he never has. I want to be someone's priority. But I don't want to come between your family. I know that I have never been family, but you are all siblings, I won't come between that." Isa said to us all. I noticed that Finn also had walked in and listened to the conversation as well.

"Well then, let us be on our way, Kol, would you like to come along?" Klaus asked me. I looked toward Isa and waited for her to give me some indication that she would like me to come with her. She nodded and I agreed. Klaus asked our siblings to keep this from Elijah should he ask where we are. I had to question if Finn would be able to do this small favour.

EPOV

I discovered from Finn that Niklaus had found a way for Isabella to divorce me. He had suggested that I give this to her, as they all knew that I was never faithful to my wife and that I would be doing her kindness by agreeing to the divorce. None of them had a right to interfere with my marriage. I felt rather incensed that she would decide to leave me.

"At least that way you would be free to bed all the women you wish to then, without hurting Isa any more than you already have. Brother, you are meant to be the noble one out of all of us. We all have our roles to play when it comes to what the vampire world thinks of us, yet our entire species knows that one of us is married and yet they also know that all of you sleep around, and the world already knows about Sage and myself, you are disgracing the name of Mikaelson. You are meant to be noble, so act it, and do the noble thing and let your unwanted wife go, and let her be happy for once, when was the last time you saw her genuinely smile?" Finn said to me not letting me say anything further as he ended the call. His question caught me off guard, when was the last time I saw Isabella smile? I have been good to her, let her live her life the way she wanted it, and provided for her, what else could she need? Should I give her this as well? After all, we had our joint ventures, which were becoming very lucrative. I sat in my suite for a while thinking things over, asking myself if Isabella was really that unhappy with our marriage, I gave her freedom and she kept out of my business, I have done everything to give her everything. When I heard a knock on my door.

"Isabella, my love, I'm surprised to see you here," I said, smiling at my wife. I saw her scoff at my greeting. Stepping aside and inviting her in, she placed a document on the dining table and stood there next to it, refusing to sit down. I had a feeling I knew what she had.

"I need you to sign these now, please. Elijah, I do not want to be in this marriage any longer, not when it has been so one-sided for centuries, you will find that the separation of assets is fair, we each keep what was created in our own names, anything that has both our names on it, you can keep, as I have no interest in anything from you any longer, I have given you enough over the millennia, without you giving me anything. I have never asked you for anything, but have given you everything, so now I ask this of you, give me this divorce. Please, Elijah." Isabella asked me. She held out a pen to me, begging me to give her this one thing. I felt angry that she had the nerve to ask this of me. I heard two of my brothers out in the corridor. So I couldn't exactly say what I wanted to her, right now.

"Very well," I told her, clenching my teeth, "I will give you what you ask for, but tell me why. After all this time? I have been good to you Isabella, haven't I? I gave you all you wanted, I gave you everything. Also, Isabella, how did you get a lawyer to give you this? We were married before there were registered marriages." I asked her quietly. Walking towards her, I knew how to scare her. I could always get her to marry me again, after all, I was able to get her to do many things over the centuries. After all, she loved me.

"I…I…I found out that you have been registering our marriage every few decades so that there is a paper trail so to speak, it wasn't hard to get a lawyer to find the necessary paperwork. And as to why, you have never been faithful to me, not even on our wedding night were you faithful to me, you just fucked me before going off to sleep with my sister. So why would I want to stay with a man like you? You have done nothing but cause me pain. I even heard at one stage that you had our children killed because you didn't want offspring with someone of such low class as I. I didn't want to believe it, but the more people in our village I talked to, the more heartbroken I became, knowing that it was the truth, especially after our second son died under suspicious circumstances after our first grandson was born. How stupid do you think of me? Now please, sign the forms, so you can go back to fucking whoever it is you have now." Isabella said, tears streaming down her face. I walked closer to her; she looked fearful as she should. I have to hand it to her, she stood her ground, looked me right in the eye and for once after all these centuries, she did not back down from me.

She knew everything then, and I did not care what she knew. It was not like I kept my affairs secret from her or anyone else, for that matter.

Taking the pen, I signed, agreeing to this for her. I didn't need to read it. She was always too trusting. She loved without fault. I knew that she had been in love with my brother, just as Kol was in love with her. But neither of them did anything about it. She never cheated on me; she was always faithful. Once I signed the divorce, she picked up the document and walked out leaving me with her wedding rings.
