KPOV

I heard the question, we all did, that father asked her. Not one of us heard her answer, just heard the sob that came from her. That told me all I needed to know. We all knew that our brother had a dark side. I never thought that he would have treated his own wife so badly.

We all had a reputation for being cruel, and heartless, but this was something else. I ran into the house avoiding my siblings trying to stop me, I needed to be in there with her, Isa had been through so much, not telling any of us anything about the abuse that she had faced. Why she did, I was not sure. I saw Father sitting there with her, holding her closely, comforting her. Isa looked so broken.

As I approached both of them, I made sure to be quiet. I didn't want to startle Isa. Father saw me walking into the room.

I watched as he told her something, he looked up and before I knew what was happening, she was running towards me.

"You came for me," Isa cried.

"Of course, I will always come for you if I know that you need me," I told her, feeling her nod her head.

"Son, take her to rest, I will help your siblings get settled, if that is alright Isabella?" Father asked us both. Isa just nodded her head in acceptance, she looked rather surprised that we were all here for her. I picked her up and walked towards the stairs, looking for what could be her bedroom. Once found, I placed her down on the bed and just laid down with her. Telling her that she was going to be alright, telling her that Elijah had met his death by the white oak, she was rather surprised by that. I just kept assuring her that I was with her and that she was going to be aright from now on. He would never hurt her again. I wanted to know what she meant about knowing about the Mikaelson temper but decided that could wait until morning. I waited until she fell asleep before letting myself do the same, not once letting her go.

I was woken by soft shaking, opening my eyes, I saw that Isa was still in my arms but she was crying.

"Hey, what's the matter?" I asked her softly. Pulling her closer to me, lifting her chin so I can see her better.

"I thought I was dreaming, when I woke up you wouldn't be here, but you are," Isa told me.

"I'm right here, we all arrived last night, the entire family is here," I told her. She looked rather scared for a second. "Elijah is no more Isa, father ended his life with the white oak. You never have to worry about him again." I whispered to her. Letting her know that she was safe. That Elijah was never going to hurt her again.

"He's gone?" she asked me in a whisper. I just nodded. I knew that I should have felt sad about losing my brother, but I couldn't bring myself to feel that way. "I'm so sorry, Kol," Isa told me, pulling me into a hug.

"Thank you, but I should be saying that to you. You are the one who spent the last thousand years with him," I said to her.

"Why are you and father here?" Isa asked me.

"I came to save you. Father told us that he found out about your home and told me that you came here and cried out for me to save you. So I'm here to save you, Isa." I told her. I just prayed to whoever was listening that she would accept my words.

"You came for me?" Isa said lowering her head and looking away from me.

"Isa, I love you, I have done since we were human. When I'm told that you come here and cry out for me, what do you think I will do? I will come for you, I will not ignore you, I will come, I will be anything that you need me to be. All you need is to tell me." I told her. I needed Isa to believe me, to believe that I would put her first in my life over all others.

She started to cry grabbing onto my shirt that I forgot to remove last night. I tried to comfort her, pulling her into me once again, holding her to try to calm her. I heard a knock on the door, I just wanted to ignore it.

"Brother, can we come in, please?" I heard Niklaus ask. Isa was too upset to tell me what she thought, so I agreed to allow them entrance.

Our siblings and father came in, everyone joining us on the bed and surrounding us. Our Father sat behind Isa, comforting her as only a parent can.

She tried to apologize to us for losing Elijah, but Father stopped her, telling her that she had nothing to apologize for, Rebecca told her that it should be all of us that apologized to her for how our brother treated her over the centuries.

"Sister, I feel I must ask, why didn't you tell any of us, what Elijah was doing to you?" Finn asked.

"He was going to kill me if I came near you all, or even if I contacted any of you without his permission, he had even broken a splinter of white oak off into my back when I accidentally turned up in the same city as you all. I was scared of him. I couldn't come to any of you, I wished that I could have, but I couldn't." Isa told him. I was furious, Elijah had hurt her so much. I sat up in the bed and pulled her into my chest, needing to feel her close to me.

RPOV

We were all sitting around the lounge with Peter and Charlotte. Jasper had contacted his brother and sister, asking if we could visit for a while. The two of them were happy for the three of us to come to Texas.

Emmett and I were going to be going to visit Bella in Mystic Falls, I had called her and arranged to meet up with her, when she let me know where she was.

"I wouldn't worry about seeing Lil' bit sug, she's going through some issues right now. And that no good husband of hers is about to meet his end. When she calls agree." Peter told me. I had to wonder why he was telling me this and what was going on with Bella.

"What do you know, Pete?" Jasper asked.

"I know that Eddie boy tried to attack you, Rose, right?" Pete said, I just nodded. "Well there's a reason why Lil' bit, set him alight before asking questions," Pete told us before he got a look on his face like he wasn't sure if he should say any more.

"The Original Vampire known as Elijah Mikaelson is well known in all sorts of vampire circles, as the noble stag, but what is just as well known for those who know where to look and who to ask, is that he was one abusive some-bitch. It isn't well known that Isabella is his wife, and that is the way the family want it to stay. But he beat her, raped her, and killed her for just looking at his siblings, she was petrified of him, he was the one that killed their children, all but one, and there is speculation that he killed their youngest son after the birth of his grandchild, but that just a rumour. He was never faithful to his wife a day in their lives, from what we heard, he even cheated on their wedding night with her sister. If Pete is sayin' something true, then Elijah Mikaelson will be meeting his death soon. But I never knew that they could be killed." Char told us.

I couldn't believe it. Bella went through all of that?

"How old is Bella?" Jasper asked after a while.

"Just over 1000 years old," Pete answered when his phone rang. He walked out of the house to answer it, and the rest of us continued to catch up with each other, talking about our plans for the next few months.

"She's older than the Volturi? She looks good for her age," Emmett asked. Of course, he made a dumb joke, but oh my God, I never would have guessed that she would be that old.

RMPOV

I never knew that Elijah could be so heartless towards his own wife, they were meant to love each other, be in love with each other and yet, from what my family are telling me, not only was he a heartless abusive husband, but he also killed his own twin sister for who knows what reason. I was having trouble solidifying this version of my brother with the Elijah that I knew. But his now ex-wife was in front of me; our father had killed him with the white oak. I knew what our father had said, but I never saw that side of our brother, I had never been on the receiving end of Elijah's temper like the rest of the family had been. He had always protected me, he told me about Isa's temper though, apparently she had been the reason that he was never faithful, she didn't want him. I wanted answers but I needed to find a witch for that. I needed to summon Elijah, to get the answers that I needed I needed to get them from my brother.

I grabbed my phone, texted my witch, and asked her to come to Norway, saying that I needed her to help me summon a spirit. Thankfully she answered my text rather quickly.

Until I had my answers, I would play house with my siblings and father. I watched as Kol held Isa close. He had fallen for her tricks. I never trusted her, Tatia was one of my best friends when we were human and she had told me all about Isa's manipulative tendencies. And I knew that others of my family had fallen for her deceit. My own father was one of those who had brought the 'poor me' act. She should have never been changed with us, then it would be easier to kill her and free my family from this farce that she was pulling them into. I hated her more at this moment than I had ever done. None of them saw the truth.

KPOV

I called on a friend that I had met a few decades ago, I recognized his brother when we attended the funeral of Isa's grandson, Peter Whitlock had helped me out a few times, and I felt that Isa would benefit from her cold one friend, knowing that Peter would be the one to gather them all together I sent him message and asked him to gather the few Cullens that Isa and become close with and come to Norway to help her out. I watched as Kol comforted our sister, but I also watched our other sister, she had been acting rather peculiar as of late, just looking over at her, I could see the hate in her eyes. I had no idea what or why she was feeling this way, but I had a feeling that it had to do with the fact that she was Elijah's favourite and had never seen what he was truly like. I had a feeling that she would try and get hold of a witch to summon him, and when that happened, Isa would need our help to get passed seeing him once again.

I needed to let Kol know somehow without letting everyone else. If that was indeed what was happening, Father would be furious at Rebecca's deceit. Rebecca forgot that we all saw more than she realized. She forgot that all of us, her brothers, watched over her and Isa and knew them both very well. We all knew that she and Tatia were best friends, and her hatred of Isabella grew due to their friendship.

We all noticed when she got up and left the room, heard the front door open and then closed. Looking over to Isa I saw that she had fallen asleep. Thankfully.

"I have a feeling that Rebecca is going to try and get a witch to summon Elijah, have any of you noticed the hateful glances that she is giving to Isa when she thinks no one is watching her?" I asked my father and siblings.

"Yes, I did notice that myself. I had the same thought, to be honest, I know all of her witches and had asked them in the past that if she contacted them to let me know, I fooled them into thinking that I could help her of course." Finn said with a shrug. I smiled at him. Father just looked between us.

"Could she really be that resentful of her sister?" Father asked.

"Yes, she could, Rebecca idolized Tatia. When they became friends she believed all the lies that Tatia told her about Isa, and Elijah just cemented those lies. No one could tell her any different, I heard them both telling Becca, that it was Isa that was the manipulator and that she had us all under a spell, even you, father. I tried to talk to her about it all, but she would not hear of it. She was convinced that Isa was the evil sister." Kol told us, I had not realized that he was awake.

"Brother I thought that you were sleeping," I asked him. Kol just shook his head and looked down and the beauty in his arms.

"I couldn't sleep when she was so upset over everything," Kol said still looking down at Isa, who was clinging tightly to him.

"I have called in a favour to a cold one that I know, funnily enough, he knows the family that she had been friendly with, so he is bringing the few that she liked here to help her," I told my family.

"Thank you, brother," Kol said smiling when Rebecca walked back into the room. I looked around the room and was in awe of the craftsmanship.

"The work that has been put into the home is rather remarkable, I have to say," I said, looking around once again.

"It is funny how she knew to make room for all of her family, even though she never expected any of us to come here to be with her. But the rooms seem to fit our personalities very well. But this room does not seem like any of us here, or seem like her, for that matter," I said to everyone.

"I am certain that is because this room is not her bedroom. But if you look close enough I am sure that you will recognize who the room is for. Even in her fear, she created this room. She even created one for your mother and me. I don't know where her bedroom is, to be honest with you all." Father told us.

My brows furrowed, and I looked around, examining everything in more detail. It was then that I was rather horrified. This room was for Elijah. She had built a room for her husband.

"Elijah. She built a room for Elijah?!" I said, horror filling my voice. Was this the reason she was so unsettled? I looked over at Kol, and he looked just as horrified. He woke her up and asked her where her bedroom was. In her sleep-addled haze, she got up and walked out of the room, and we all followed.

The room looked more like Kol's style. But there were touches of things that were very much Isa. We all watched as she got onto the bed and just collapsed. Isa was exhausted.

I went downstairs to clear my head. Looking around, I could see the care that she had put into this home, the craftsmanship that had not been used in centuries. Just looking at the work told me all I needed to know.

Isa built this home herself with her own two hands. It would have possibly taken her years, but she built us a home in the old land.

We spent the next few days trying to get Isa to open up to us all, she was polite to us all, but I had to wonder if she really believed it when Kol told her that Elijah was finally dead. Rebecca's witch turned up, just as Isa's friends, Rosalie, Jasper and Emmett. I had also called on a few of my hybrids to surround the home, just as added security, I was thankful when one that turned up was none other than my first, Tyler Lockwood. I thought that Isa would get on well with the young lad. I had been right. My sister and my hybrid got along famously, not that Kol seemed to like the idea of it.

There had been a bit of commotion with Rebecca's witch over the last half an hour, and I had to wonder what it was about when Rebecca started to walk back towards the house.

"Sorry to interrupt, but Isa, can I borrow you for a moment? There is someone that I want you to meet; she's just outside." My sister said, pulling Isa up and out the door before she could even answer Rebecca. Kol and I followed them, I didn't exactly trust Rebecca right now, and I had a feeling that Kol didn't either. Once we made our way outside, Kol and I witnessed the witch stake Isa, she clearly had relieved that particular stake off of Rebecca who stole it from me. I had to think fast to stop Kol from going over and murdering the witch. Rebecca, just smiling, looked at us both.

"Now we can get to the bottom of this and find the truth," Rebecca said to us. The witch started to chant, and I told Kol to go inside and get our father and Finn. Once this was over, I was going to get that white oak stake off my father and ram it through Rebecca's heart.

Once Finn and Father came out, we watched as Elijah came through. We all saw him. He looked down at his ex-wife and just smiled.

"At least she is detained for now. Maybe Niklaus can place her in a coffin for a while." We heard our dead brother saying. Looking over at our father, he looked furious, taking a step ahead of us all.

"Rebecca, what is the meaning of all of this?" Father asked her.

"I wanted answers that only Elijah could give me frankly I didn't believe you when you told that little tail, everyone seemed to be under the spell of this strumpet. I want the truth. And who better than the one who had to marry her." Rebecca answered.

We watched a vampire emerge from the forest carrying a body. I didn't like where this was going, and I prayed that she was not stupid enough to bring Elijah back from the dead.

"You can't be that stupid sister, that you would bring our brother back after all that we have been told," Finn said, he had a point, she was rather stupid for doing this. Kol tried to get close to the three of them without luck; there was a boundary spell in place. He paced outside the boundary, waiting for the witch to finish her spell. We all could tell when she had Kol was by Isa's side in an instant, Elijah was back in his body and waking up, coming back to the land of the undead.

Father growled at Rebecca, asking what she was thinking by doing this here, of all places, breaking her sister's trust.

"I don't care about Isa; I never did. She used us all, manipulated my family, and none of you were smart enough to see it happening right und…" Rebecca didn't get to finish her sentence; she dropped to the ground right when Elijah woke up, standing to face us all. Kol had taken Isa back inside the house. I had been informed that Elijah would not be able to enter the house even if he wanted to, as Isa had placed a spell on the house that meant that she would have to invite the beings into the house herself. And right now she was unconscious.

"What is wrong with Rebecca?" Father asked.

"I put her down for what she did to my friend." I heard Jasper say from behind me.

"How did you manage that?" Elijah asked, getting rather angry at the cold one.

"Now that's my secret—and one that you are not privy to. I suggest that we all get inside the house so that we can have a little chat about what we are going to do about the circumstances that we find ourselves in," Jasper said, answering Elijah.

Elijah went to enter the house but was unable to while we all walked into the house without issue. He was clearly angry that he was not able to get into the house.

"Can someone gather the human that lives here so that I can gain access to the home? I want to be able to speak with you all after all." Elijah said, looking around for any signs of a human resident.

"There is no human living here. I had a witch spell the house that allows me to invite and uninvite anyone whom I deem fit. I don't want you in my home, Elijah, nor do I want Rebecca in my home any longer, so she has been uninvited from my home." I heard Isa saying as she came up from behind me. Kol followed her closely.

"Isabella, this home clearly is one of my own. How can you exclude me from my own home?" Elijah said to her, smiling.

"This was never one of your homes, Elijah, this was always my own, I built it with my own two hands, this was my escape from you, I came here to heal when you beat me and killed me. I came here to heal, I have invited people that I trust into this home, I trusted you once, that was the worst mistake of my existence, I have never trusted you since," Isa told him standing inside the doorway.

"Why don't you come outside and tell me why that is? I have always done right by you, Isabella." Elijah told her, but we could all see that it was an outright lie. Isa stepped forward and out the door, but not before looking back at Kol. I couldn't let her do this.

"You have not been invited in for a reason, brother. Let's leave it at that, shall we? We all know what kind of husband you were to Isa. Father even witnessed some of the things you had done. I will not allow you to use fear as a tactic on our sister any longer. As far as I am concerned, you are no longer my brother," I told Elijah.

"Well, it's just as well you are not my concern, then, is it? Isa, come out here if you would," Elijah said once more.

"No, I will not let her near you Elijah. You have disgraced this family for the last time." Kol said getting rather defensive.

"I am not the one that has disgraced this family. I am the one that cleaned up after you all." Elijah said looking at Kol and I.

Isa clearly used that time to slip outside, not that either of us noticed until it was too late. Elijah grabbed her and ran off.

BPOV

Elijah grabbed me as soon as I stepped outside the front door. I knew that this was going to be bad. I could see that he was beyond angry. He recognized his surroundings; I just knew that he did. I discovered that my home is not far from the original village where Elijah and Finn were born.

"You came to my homeland to get away from me, knowing that I ordered you to never come to this place," Elijah said to me. He sounded so calm, but I knew better. Looking into his eyes, I saw the fury in them.

I could hear Kol faintly calling out for me, but I knew that I couldn't let Kol get hurt for me. Especially in this place. This was where I called home.

"You should have remembered what I had told you, if not about this place, then at least about my siblings. I think you need a reminder." Elijah said, his hand becoming firmer around my throat. "Never go near MY family; They are mine; you are not part of my family, you never were, you're nothing. You need to stay away from them. This is what you're going to do. You are going to uninvite them from the house while making sure that you invite me in. Do you understand me, Isabella?" Elijah continued. I was barely able to answer him.

I felt groggy like I usually did when I woke from death. I knew that Elijah had killed me, I mentally took note of my body to see what hurt, my neck and hips. Once again, I found myself naked and without any of my clothes. I needed to get back to the house, I couldn't see or hear Elijah around anywhere. I knew that he would be watching me to see if I followed his commands. I could see fragments of my clothes all around the clearing, started to make my way ho… to the house, when I fell, I needed blood; my hip was dislocated. I heard the brush rustling, and I panicked, trying to find a place to hide, but I couldn't move very fast. I was able to hide in a bush by the time I heard footsteps, needing to stay silent, no matter who it was.

I watched as his family came through, calling for me, calling for Elijah. I saw Kol when he found the fragments of my clothes and saw his panic; I stayed where I was, trying not to cry out, feeling the tears running down my cheeks; the pain in my hip was starting to get to me more from having to sit in the one position for even this short amount of time. I couldn't make my escape, they had spread out too far, I watched as Elijah came into the clearing, getting the attention of his family.

"Where is Isa Elijah? What have you done with her?" Kol asked getting in his face. Elijah just shoved him away.

"It is none of your business. I was looking for her myself, but I still cannot get into the house. I need her to invite me inside," Elijah said, looking angry.

I saw Jasper and Rosalie come into the clearing. It felt like Jasper looked right at me. I sent him all of my fear and caution, hoping he would understand my need to keep it hidden. I also sent him my love for Kol. He whispered something to Rosalie, and she looked my way. She looked at Elijah, and I saw the anger on her face.

JPOV

Rose and I made it into a clearing with the original vampire family, I instantly felt pain and fear, I knew that it was Bella. She must have seen me, as I got a larger dose of fear and caution before I felt love. She was warning me. This was Elijah's handy work, she wanted me to warn Kol. I looked in the direction the emotions originated from and nodded hoping that she saw me.

"Rose, Bella is here, but she's hurt. We need to let Kol know, she's in or behind the bushed directly in front of us." I told her, she had to lean in to be able to hear me any, but she nodded. And looked to where I indicated.

"What is she feeling?" Rose asked me. So I sent her what Bella sent me. She became furious.

"Kol, sorry to interrupt you, but I found a trail about ten miles east and a scent that was the same as Bella, Jasper and I came to get you," Rose told the youngest Original brother. Kol looked at her and nodded. Before we could even move, Elijah took off. We didn't have much time.

"Kol she in the bush over there, but she's in immense pain," I told him quietly and pointed to where I felt her. He ran over and cleared out the foliage, and found Bella crying with her hand over her mouth I watched as Kol took off his jacket and put it around her shoulders, asking for Klaus' coat to be able to cover her some more before he picked her up and took off towards the house. I knew that Rebecca was still out, so there was no worry about her finding out and letting Elijah know that Bella was found.

KPOV

I had wanted to tear Elijah apart for taking off with Isa like he did, we all spent the last few hours looking for Isa and Elijah with no luck. I had thought we had come close at one point, but nothing. We all made it into a clearing, and I was about to give up when I noticed fragments of Isa's clothing. I was beyond furious; these had been torn to shreds. Elijah came into the clearing spouting some nonsense about trying to find Isa as he could not gain access to her home still, but I could see that it was nothing but lies. The Cold One, known as Rosalie, told me that they found a scent trail ten miles east, and I was about to follow when Elijah took off, and Jasper came up to me and quietly told me where to find Isa. Running over, I cleared the shrubbery, and there she was, curled into a ball, crying silently into her hand. The angle of her hip told me that it was dislocated so I would need to be gentle with her. Taking off my jacket, I placed it around her, then called for Niklaus to give me his coat so that I could cover her more. Picking her up I ran her back to the house. She fought me as we arrived at the house, I had no idea why.

"Why are you fighting me, darling?" I asked her as I walked into the house.

"I can't be here, I'm not allowed to be here," Isa said as I saw Father walk up to us.

"What happened Kol?" Father asked me.

"I'm unsure, I found her hiding in some shrubbery. But from the look of her, I can guess what the bastard did to her." I told my father. I took her and walked up to the bedroom that I now knew to be her own bedroom. Walking into the bathroom I placed her down in the bath and started to fill up the tub slowly with water.

"Isa, please, darling, calm down so that I can help you. I want to help you." I told her quietly.

"I can't be here with you all. I tried to be brave, I failed. I have to leave. I have to uninvite you all and invite him in. I'm sorry. I can't be here." Isa told me, I hung my head, he hurt her again. I hear Father outside the bathroom door. I was not going to leave her now.

"Father, please inform my siblings that Isa and I will not be joining them for some time, she needs time to heal. But if we could please have some blood brought in. She desperately needs blood." I told my father. I heard him confirm the need for blood, before leaving the room.

I stripped off my clothes and got into the bath with Isa to try and help her calm down and so that I could help clean her of the dirt and dried blood that was covering her skin.

"Isa, you're safe now, I am sorry that I could not keep you safe from him. I will do better next time, not that there will be a next time. But let me help you get cleaned up, and let me help you get fed. Will you allow me that much sweetheart?" I asked her. Between the crying she let me know that she would allow me this. For that, I was thankful. We spent hours in the bath, we both heard Elijah downstairs still trying to get into the house. Without any luck, he shows his true colours to the rest of the family. Rebecca had woken and discovered that she could also no longer enter the house, that was rather interesting turn of events. Rebecca learned the extent of Elijah's loyalty to her and that she was nothing but a pawn to get what he wanted. She did not exactly like that.

Rebecca decided to kill the majority of Niklaus' hybrids. The ones still alive were the ones that were inside the house at the time. Including his precious first hybrid. I did not appreciate that he had placed Tyler bloody Lockwood in the sights of my love. I could have ended my brother in that time, quite happily. I stayed with Isa, well after I had helped wash away all the dirt that was on her body, each time I washed away the dirt she cried out. Elijah had really hurt her, even if this was the first time I had seen her in this way, I knew that this was bad.

Once Isa felt well enough, I was determined to make Elijah pay for the pain he caused her. I had looked up to him when I was a child. He was what I wanted to be like when I grew up, then I met Isa and knew that it was love at first sight. I had to watch as my brother married the love of my life. I never got to let her know that I loved her. I waited 1000 years to tell her that I loved her, I believed that I could finally help her get free from her husband, and I discovered that she, amazingly, loved me in return. My hero worship for my brother ended completely when I discovered how he truly treated his wife. I didn't know how she managed to put up with him for all those centuries. But then I had no idea how he was able to hurt his beloved wife that way either.

I had done some truly horrid things in my time on this earth. Maybe that was something that I brought over from my time as a human in the Viking era, we cherished our women.

"I need to uninvite you all from the house Kol, and then I need to leave. But you cannot come with me. You need to stay with your family." Isa said bring me out of my thoughts.

"Explain to me why you need to?" I asked her.

"Elijah is back; he's alive; even though you told me he was dead, he is clearly alive. I can't be here. He had already ordered me to never come to this country and yet here I am. I have to leave. Even though I am no longer married to him, he still has power over me. I love you, but I love you enough to let you go." Isa told me, not giving me time to say anything, she got out of the bath and left. I could hear her in the bedroom; it sounded like she was packing.

"No, I will not allow this, you have spent years on the run from my deranged brother, do not let him control you any longer. Isa, please, I have only just begun to love you, let me continue to do so, and let yourself love me in return. Don't let Elijah control you." I said, still dripping with water, I watched as tears started to fall from her beautiful brown eyes.

"Kol, Niklaus, Mikael, Finn, Jasper, Rosalie, and Emmett, you are no longer welcome in this home. Elijah and Rebecca, please come in," Isa said in a voice full of hurt as I was pulled out of the house.

"NOO!" I shouted as we were all pulled from the house and out into the cold outside. I watched as Rebecca and Elijah walked into the house, both looking rather smug.

"What happened?" Niklaus asked.

"Elijah happened. He got to her somehow, demanded that she hand the house over uninvited us all and invited Rebecca and himself inside. He's threatened her." I told them.

"Brother, take my coat," Finn said handing me his coat. Putting on the piece of clothing, I started to think about what I would do to my brother and sister. They needed to pay for what they had done after all.

"Come, brother, let us get away from this place," Niklaus said, placing his hand on my shoulder.

"Not without Isa," I whispered to him.

"Then let us leave here." He said pointedly to me. Narrowing my eyes towards him, I nodded and followed him. Once we reached a clearing, I saw Isa standing there, once I made my way up to her, I took her face in my hands and just kissed her.

"Why Isa?" I asked.

"He knows what to use to make me do what he wants, he knows what to do to hurt me Kol. He might be your brother, but you don't know what he's like." Isa told me. She was getting really upset about it.

"Hey, it's alright, we will get through this," I told her.

"As lovely as this reunion is, we need to figure out what we are going to do now, Elijah and Rebecca are now both in your home, Isabella, they also have all of our belongings, including the white oak stake that I used to kill Elijah a week ago. Considering what he is like, he will not hesitate to use it on any of us." Father said to us all. He had a point, Elijah is more dangerous now than he had ever been.

"You need to leave. Leave the country, and go back to America. You wanted to leave, make sure that you do. We can always distract Elijah so that you can get away. I will meet up with you, once we have taken care of Elijah and Rebecca. Run Isa." I told her. I hated that I was telling her this, but my siblings and I would be able to take care of Elijah and Rebecca easily enough, but for me to be able to help them with all of that, I needed Isa to be safe and away from here and away from Elijah.

"I don't want to leave you," Isa told me.

"But you need to. I love you, but I need you to leave." I pleaded with her, needing her to listen to me. After a while, she looked at our family and sighed.

"Alight, I will leave. But promise me that you will find me Kol." She whispered.

"I promise you, darling," I told her, kissing her goodbye. I watched her leave, listening to her running away, not leaving the spot I was standing in until I could no longer hear Isa at all. Once I could no longer hear her, I took off running for Isa's house.

"Elijah, why don't you come out? And be a good brother and bring me some clothes will you." I called out to him. I knew that he was still in the house. From the sounds of things, he was destroying goodness knows what.

I know that he heard me. The destruction stopped. I heard him when he came towards me, towards the front door.

"What is it you want Kol?" Elijah asked me. To give him credit, he did bring me some clothes.

"Well, for a start, how about you come out here so we can have a little chat?" I asked him while putting on the clothes that he threw at me. At least they were my own clothes. He thought about it for a moment before he finally came outside.

"I repeat, what is it you want Kol?" Elijah asked me once again.

"For a start I want you to leave Isa alone. She is no longer your wife. As I said she is no longer your wife. So why is it that you keep abusing her as you have been?" I asked him. I knew for a fact that this topic was going to be one that angered him. And I was right. He was furious when I said her name.

"Well, what I do with Isabella is no concern of yours, she is and always will be mine to do with as I please, wife or no. A little piece of paper will not tell ME that she no longer belongs to me. I have warned her to stay away, and if she knows what is good for her, then she will follow my direction. You, on the other hand, would do well to keep away from my wife. I know of your feelings for her." Elijah said to me. Well, well, this will make provoking him easier then.

"Well, it is a bit late for that. After all, I have already bedded her. And it was a shame that you never even showed her how good being with someone can be. After a thousand years, you never once gave her an orgasm. You told her that she was useless at sex. Shame on you, brother. After all, she is magnificent in bed. Did you teach her that thing with her tongue? Oh, that's right, you never taught her anything, but fear, isn't that right, brother?" I said to him, baiting him to attack me. I saw that it was working. I heard our father and siblings coming close. The problem was I couldn't hear Rebecca anywhere. "Where is our lovely sister, brother?" I asked him.

"Don't worry about Rebecca; I've taken care of her," Elijah told me. Well, that didn't exactly answer my question now did it? "Now that you have just proven that my wife is nothing but a whore, just like everyone said that her sister was. Isabella was nothing; the fact that she got you to believe that you're what? In love with her? Is a farce. Isabella is a master manipulator; she always has been. And yes Kol, she was useless when it came to sex, she was nothing, a cold fish would have been better. Let me give you some advice Kol. Fear is the only thing that worked with that woman, if you want her to do anything for you, use it. She won't listen to you; make her listen." Elijah told me.

Is that what he really thought? I looked at him for a time, Oh My God, he believed that bullshit he was spewing.

"You really believe that, don't you, Elijah? You don't see that what you have done is abhorrent. Isa was, past tense, your wife. Someone that you were meant to show love to, care for her, and protect her. Instead, you made her fear you and our family, her family. What sort of protector does that?" I asked him.

"THAT WOMAN WAS NEVER OUR FAMILY, NEVER ANY PART OF IT!" Elijah shouted at me. "Isabella is nothing. A worthless shit-covered rat, that deserves to be killed, over and over and over again. Yes, I have killed her, it was nothing that she didn't deserve anyway. Now if you are here, to plead her case, then you need to stop. She should have been the one that was used for our transition meal instead of anyone else. You would be better to forget her." Elijah told me. I couldn't help but laugh at him.

The rest of our family came and stood next to me. I knew that they had all heard what Elijah had said to me. They all heard that he believed what he told me.

"Elijah, you say that Isabella was never part of our family, but what you fail to realize is that it was you that was never part of our family like Isabella was. She is more of a child to me than you are at this point. Is that why you hurt her as much as you have? Feeling a little inadequate are you? Not able to man up and please your wife? Is it that why you prefer the company of other men? I will not judge you if that is what you prefer. But son, be honest." Father said to Elijah, I wanted to laugh. I was sure that Father asked Elijah if he had just spent 1000 years in the proverbial closet.

Elijah attacked then, it was clear now that he was lashing out for being possibly called out. But it was now that I knew that we had to make our move. Elijah was distracted by our father. I had the White Oak stake that Isa had slipped to me, I have no idea how she got it, but I was not going to question it. I had to act fast; even if Father looked at me, it would only take Elijah not even a second to turn on me. Running up to the both of them, I plunged the dagger into the heart of my brother; watching as he stood up and staggered, I heard Rebecca scream, running out of the house. We all looked at her.

In that moment, we all learned that the witch had linked Rebecca and Elijah together. I couldn't help the sinking feeling I got in that moment. Isa was in that circle with the two of them. Had they linked her with them? Is she currently out there somewhere? Have I just killed my love?

I took off, yelling at my siblings to let me know when they were both ashes. I then took off in the direction she ran in, trying to find Isa, praying that she had not been linked with the other two.

I spent twelve hours searching for her, having no idea where she went. Determined to not break my promise to her, I would find her. I received a text message telling me to run east for thirty minutes before running south for the same amount of time, if I did that, then I would find what I was looking for. The sender just signed off as 'Yoda'. I had no idea who that was, but I followed the instructions.

I ran as fast as I had ever run, stopping when I came to the spot the directions led me to. I looked around and took in all the scents of the area, but I was not able to determine that there was anything around me. About to leave to carry on my search, I received another message to stay put for a while, that I would find what I was looking for. I grew rather annoyed at this Yoda person.

I sat on the ground, just waiting. Thinking over what I could have done differently to keep Isa by my side, to ensure that we stay together, to get her away from Elijah sooner. But I could not think of anything that I had not already done, everything that I came up with, I did already for her, could I have discovered his brutality earlier? Of course. Could I have done anything to gain my knowledge earlier? No.

My mind going off on a little tangent led me to spiral worse than when the doppelgänger's brother tried to kill me. I didn't hear the being coming up to me until the being bowled me over. The being didn't even give me time to comprehend what was happening when they started to kiss me. Switching our positions I looked down, and couldn't believe my luck, here below me, was my beautiful Isa. Smiling at her as I couldn't believe my luck. Here she was, with me once again, more than fourteen hours after I last saw her, and she was with me once again.

"I missed you, darling," I told her as I kissed down her neck.

"I missed you too. I don't want to be separated from you again. Please tell me that you won't leave me." She asked me.

"Never. I ended Elijah and staked him with the white oak. He was linked to Rebecca when the witch brought him back, I was scared that you had been linked to the two of them, that you had died as well. I was scared for you." I whispered to her. Lying on the ground and holding her close to me.

I got a message from Jasper's brother that I would find what I was looking for if I turned and ran west for thirty minutes and then north for the same amount of time. If I did that I would find what I searched for.

I had no idea what the hell he was on about, but I went with it. I had learned enough from my time with the Cullen family that sometimes you don't question some things and that I what I did. The next text I received was one telling me, "about time someone listened and did as they told" I couldn't help but laugh at that.

Running as if Elijah himself was chasing after me, I followed the directions. What I found was more precious than anything I owned. What I found, was Kol. I wanted to cry I was so happy to see him, but I also had to wonder how he got away so fast. Was Elijah chasing him now? Would we have to be on the run for the rest of our lives? I ran into him, knocking him down flat, not letting him get the chance to defend himself at all before I kissed him.

In the short time that we had been separated, I found that I missed him terribly. Once he realized that it was me, he kissed me back, telling me that he missed me as well. Kol told me that he ended Elijah, and Rebecca was killed as well because the witch had linked them. He was scared that she had linked me to them as well.

I was rather glad that she had not. Even though I had wanted to die not long ago, I was glad to be alive now and to be able to spend time with Kol. We already had his father's blessing to Wed, and I found myself wanting to marry him.

I married the wrong brother all those centuries ago. But only because I had no choice.

"We should let our family know that we are alright." Kol told me in between kisses.

"You could, that would be lovely, but since we can see for ourselves that you are both fine, it is not needed." We heard from above us both. Looking up we saw Klaus and the rest of the family walking up to Kol and me.

"Elijah is no more," I said to them all, smiling. I knew that Mikael had killed him once, but clearly, Rebecca had brought him back for what reason. No one knows. Only she would know why, and I, for one, was not planning on summoning her spirit to find out.

"No. Kol did a wonderful job stabbing him in the back while his father fought with him. Elijah was never going to win against either of them," Klaus told me. I smiled and kissed Kol. I would have to thank Mikael as well. They all helped to save me.

"Thank you all. You didn't have to help me, but you did anyway," I said to them all.

"Shall we go home?" Mikael asked us all. I just nodded. I was ready to go home, ready to start living my life without the fear of my husband threatening me, beating me or raping me when I came close to his family.

"I think that maybe going home to New Orleans would be lovely. What do the rest of you think?" Klaus asked. I don't remember ever going there. I knew that Elijah loved it there, so I stayed away. There were so many places that I had never been to, for that reason.

It had now been three years since we moved to New Orleans. We ended up moving into the old governor's estate, there were a few hiccups with Marcel, the little slave that Niklaus adopted and then turned, he had somehow, managed to control the witches and banish the werewolves. And now it was an all-out vampire town, and Marcel was the self-appointed King. Until father showed up with Niklaus one day and showed the child who was really the King of the City. Isa and I laughed at the look of terror on Marcel's face when he turned around and saw father standing behind him. Marcel tried to control Niklaus, but he ended up with one of his daywalkers bitten, not realising that the hybrid's blood was the cure to a werewolf bite. Stupid child.

Marcel fucked up when he kidnapped Isa, thinking that she was just some ordinary vampire, not realizing that she was also an original, as he had never met her before. I turned up at the abattoir, I was furious, murderous really.

"Marcel, I suggest that you come out immediately," I shouted. Knowing full well that the child could hear me.

"Kol, and what do I owe the pleasure?" Marcel smiled down at me from the balcony.

"You took something of mine and I want her back," I said to him. I had already texted Niklaus, telling him that I would require him to bite several people if they did not listen to me. When he asked me why, I just told him that Marcel had kidnapped Isa. He was just as furious.

"Yes, it would be good if you could return my dear sister," Niklaus said coming up behind me.

"What are you talking about? I don't have Rebecca," Marcel said, looking rather confused.

"No, you have taken someone much more important to us. Besides, Rebecca is dead. No, we are talking about my other sister, Isabella," Niklaus said. I tried to listen for any sign of Isa in the compound but couldn't hear anything. I could see that Marcel's vampires were trying to come closer to us, clearly thinking that they could take Niklaus and me, not realizing that they were the ones who were outnumbered.

As soon as one of them came close enough I made my way around them all, ripping out their hearts, making sure that none survived.

"WAIT, just wait," Marcel shouted to me, coming down to face me. "If you want that brunette back then, I'm going to need something from you both," Marcel said. I was not going to negotiate with a child. I looked over at my brother and watched him nod his head. I watched as he ran around and bit six other vampires.

"Your friends will be dead by the weekend if you do not give us what we want right now," Niklaus said to Marcel.

"Oh and be quick about it," I told Marcel. He looked mad, but he had no idea the war he had brought upon his little vampire friends due to what he had done.

Marcel ran out of the compound and I just waited.

"It might be a good idea for the rest of you to think about who you are following. You don't want to fight in a war against us. You will lose." I told the rest of the vampires that stood watching us. I heard two beings coming back towards us. And hoped that Marcel was not so stupid to not do as he was told.

When I came out, I watched as he dragged Isa out by her hair. Running up to him, as soon as I saw he had let her go, my hand was through his chest.

"Ever think of manhandling her like you just I will rip out your heart and feed it to the werewolves, do you understand me?" I asked him, I could feel my fangs extending, I was furious at how he treated Isa.

"I understand." Marcel strained to say to me. I felt a hand on my shoulder, but I did not want to look at Isa right now. Pulling my hand out I snapped his neck before grabbing Isa and running back to the plantation. Once we had arrived, I started to pack, there was no way that I was going to stay in a city that put Isa at risk like this.

"Kol, stop, please." I heard my Isa ask me. Turning around, I looked at her. She looked afraid. I grabbed her, pulling her close. I never wanted to see her scared.

"Are you alright darling? Did he hurt you at all?" I asked her.

"He wanted to know why we were all here, and if Rebecca and Elijah would be turning up. I told him that we just wanted to find somewhere to feel at home. He didn't believe me, he stabbed in in the stomach with a wooden chair, threatening that he would put it through my heart if I didn't tell him what he wanted to know." Isa told me. She picked up the bottom of her shirt and showed me the still-red wound. I wanted to go back there and kill the lot of them for hurting her.

"You really fucked up when you took her," I told Marcel when he awoke from his temporary death.

"Who the hell is that chick to you really Klaus?" Marcel asked me.

"She really is my sister, she was married to Elijah when we were all human, and she turned with us, and is an Original. But she is no longer married to Elijah, the abusive bastard met his permanent end thanks to Kol. Who as you can see, is very protective of her." I told him. I could see the horror when I told him that she was an original like the rest of my family.

"She was married to Elijah, wow. I did not realize that he was even married. I saw him with several women while you all lived here," Marcel said, sitting down in the chair next to me. It was understandable that he was shocked—the noble Elijah, the unfaithful bastard.

"Not many did realize, he did not love his wife. They divorced only a few years ago, and now both she and Kol and very happy together. He would kill anyone that dared hurt his Isa." I told Marcel. I could see the boy that I saw long ago right now. I could see the fear of Kol in his eyes, he, just as anyone who knows Kol, knows his temper. Isa would be the only one over the last 1000 years that he would never hurt, never raise his voice at. She truly was his salvation.

"I didn't know. I heard that a woman was hanging around and some of my guys suggested that she could be used to persuade you all to back off for a while. They had seen her around, asking around about where to find the witches. I gave the ok to grab her. I thought that she was just another original groupie." Marcel told me. We talked for a while longer I explained what would happen if he ever tried something like this again, and I left for home.

Once I arrived home, I saw bags sitting at the bottom of the stairs. I had a feeling that I knew who they belonged to, but I went to find Kol and Isa anyway, hoping that I was wrong and they were not going to be leaving us.

"Klaus, I'm glad that you are home, Kol and I are going to Paris for a while, but don't worry, we will be back. It's just for two weeks, after what happened at the Abattoir, I asked if we could go away for a little while, I'm just feeling a little shaken is all. Besides I want us to get married here, I find that I really like it here." Isa told me. How could I say no to that? After all, she was just put through a rather nasty ordeal at the hands of my child.

"Two weeks, you say? Well, I will arrange a party for your return." I smiled at my dear sister. She jumped up and hugged me, thanking me for this. It was not like I was sending them away, but I could understand Kol's reasoning. He wanted to keep her safe.

I sat in the living room and watched as they both came downstairs with their luggage, I knew what Isa had said, but I couldn't help the feeling that Kol expected it to be gone much longer than that. Father had left too long after we arrived in the city, claiming that he wanted to go back to the old land to try and find any of our family that may have survived the plagues that ravaged the land. No one had heard from him since. But I expected that it may only be a matter of time.

"Brother, Isa and I are off. I know that she told you that I was taking her to Paris. What Marcel did was unacceptable, and something that has affected her more than she would want anyone to realize. I ask that you make an example of my nephew. Before we get back." Kol told me. I was tempted to put a dagger in his heart for demanding such. But Isa was the one person that I was not prepared to hurt.

"I have already made Marcel aware of Isa's importance, and I do believe that he would like to apologize to her. He was not aware that she was family. I do suggest, if she is up for it, that you make a stop at the abattoir before you make your leave," I told Kol. I could see that he wanted to dismiss the idea immediately, but he turned to look at his beloved.

"I will suggest it to her, but the final decision is up to her," Kol told me.

I always believed that love was a weakness, seeing what Elijah went through, but then we all found out that Elijah's unrequited love was no love at all, just an abusive husband who never loved his wife. I could not fault Isa for wanting to find love when she had waited so long to be able to be with hers. It was something that I had found, but knew that she was not ready to accept me at all.

"Klaus, I suggest you go to her and make her realize how you feel. I'll make you a deal: Once we return, I will come with you and help you. How does that sound? As I said, it is only going to be two weeks," Isa told me. I had to smile at that. My sister truly knew how to read people. Smiling at her deal, I nodded.

"Alright, you have a deal. I will see you both in two weeks sister." I said, before getting up and hugging her. Kol smiled at her, and just like that, they were both gone.

BPOV

The two weeks Kol and I spent away from New Orleans had been amazing, both of us had been able to relax, and Kol had been able to help me get past what had happened, both with Marcel and with Elijah. He told me what Klaus had said, that Marcel had not realized that I was family, and for some reason, I believed him. I didn't think that Klaus would purposely hurt me. I discovered also that Marcel was my nephew, I had not realized that he was Klaus' son, not just a human that he had turned but he looked to Marcel as one would look at their child. That was something that I knew very well. Once we returned home I had planned to help Klaus with his love then I wanted to meet my nephew properly. After all, family meant something to me, just as I knew it meant something to Klaus.

I tried to talk Kol into letting me with Klaus alone, but he didn't want me to be apart from him, something that I understood all too well. We arrived a few hours later to what was once our village when we were humans. I had no idea that arriving here would affect me so much and bring back so many unwanted memories, but I did my best to keep this from Kol. He would worry overly much, and I knew that Klaus needed me right now.

I was determined to stay away from where I remember my first home with Elijah was, but it turned out to be harder than I thought it would be as Klaus' love interest lived on the land where the house was. Where it all started for me, I told Klaus that I would talk to the girl and try and get a feel for if she was genuinely interested in him, and would let him know of my findings. Making my way to the bar that night, after asking Kol for some space so that I could determine the feeling of the town toward Kol and Klaus, he reluctantly agreed with me.

It gave me a perfect time to just be alone for a while and come to terms with the fact that my brother's love lived where Elijah's abuse started. It was fucking with my head more than I wanted it to. I was sure that I was over the abuse my ex-husband had done to me. Clearly not.

"Hey, beautiful. Are you new here? I haven't seen you around before." A tall man with raven hair and ice-blue eyes asked me.

"Yeah I'm new, came here to see the sights, apparently this town is a supernatural hotspot, thought I would come and check it out," I answered the man. From what I had been told this was the infamous Damon Salvatore.

"Well, maybe I can show you around a little? You look like you could use a good time." He said smiling at me while he checked me out. I had to laugh. No one could compare to Kol.

"Sorry, but I'm taken. But maybe you could tell me where to find the Chief of Police in this town?" I asked him, smiling. He seemed rather surprised. But looked as if I just issued him a challenge.

"I don't mind a challenge. The Sheriff is Liz Forbes, and I can take you to her if you would like. She is a friend of mine," Damon said to me. I took him up on his offer and followed him to the Sheriff's office.

"Liz you busy?" Damon asked the blonde woman.

"Damon, I have a few minutes, what do you need?" She asked him.

"I have a beautiful young lady, new to town, who wanted to meet you. Asked to meet the Chief of Police," I could hear the smile in Damon's voice. I just rolled my eyes.

"Alright, show her in." The woman said.

"Here she is beautiful, I never got your name," Damon said, fishing.

"And you don't need it, Mr Salvatore." I smiled at him as I walked into the office. Damon looked rather taken back that I knew his name. I could hear the woman snigger behind me as I closed the door, wanting some privacy to talk to her.

"Well, it's not very often that Damon is left speechless. You will have to tell me how you did it. Call me Liz," Sheriff Forbes told me. I just smiled. She offered me a seat, wordlessly asking me what I wanted.

"Hi, Liz, not sure if I really know to be honest. My name is Bella. I knew the Chief of Police in Forks, Washington, Charlie Swan, and I learned that he knew you, so I wanted to take this opportunity to reach out to you and inform you of his death. Unfortunately, I was not able to come sooner and for that I am sorry, he died three years ago, it was a robbery gone wrong," I told her. It was true enough, I was aware that Charlie knew many of the Chiefs and Sheriffs in many towns.

"Charlie's dead." She said in shock. They had been close then. I nodded.

"I'm sorry that you lost a friend," I told her.

"Thank you," she said but whispered under her breath that she wished she had told him about Caroline, the young woman Klaus was interested in.

"I'm sorry that you didn't get that chance," I told her, informing her of my supernatural status. She didn't seem as surprised as I thought that she would have been which answered the question I had, of if she knew about the vampires in this town. "I heard you, sorry," I told her.

"How did you really know Charlie?" Liz asked me.

"In all honesty, he was my many times over, grandson," I told her. She was again looking rather shocked.

"You're family?" She asked. I just nodded my head.

"Well, thank you for letting me know. I know that family was important to Charlie. He had been looking into his family for a fair few years and found out his line went back to this area of Virginia and, before that, Norway. He was proud of what he was able to find," she told me.

"Thank you for telling me that," I said smiling, even though I had tears in my eyes. I watched as she came around her desk and sat next to me. We talked for a while, she was honest with me and told me that she didn't think it was a good time to be a vampire right now in their town, they had just been able to get rid of a problem vampire, the hybrid, he was tormenting their town, but she couldn't help but feel that he was lashing out for some reason.

"He was, his stepfather was abusive for many years, he recently discovered that the man he knew as his father, was hexed, to be that way towards him, by his own mother, they have recently healed their heavily strained bond. See in a way he was lashing out, as all he knew was abuse by his parents." I told her. If Klaus was going to be pursuing her daughter, she had a right to know.

"How do you know that?" She asked me.

"Klaus is, was, my brother-in-law. His brother Elijah was my husband, Charlie's grandfather." I told her.

"You're an Original Vampire?" She asked.

"Yes, if that makes you wary, I can leave if you would rather," I said to her.

"Is Elijah coming back to town?" Liz asked.

"No, he met the end of special stake. Thank goodness." I told her.

"You don't sound very sad about the fact that your husband is dead," Liz said to me.

"I'm not, he was heavily abusive, and never faithful a day in his life. I learned that he even slept with the latest Doppelgänger, Elena Gilbert." I told her.

"Are you loyal to the Original Family?" Liz asked me. Again sounding wary.

"Before I answer you, I think you need to know that I came into this town with two of the brothers, Kol and Klaus. I have been in love with Kol since we were both human and after I divorced Elijah, we found love again with each other." I told her. Before I offered her to come to the house and meet the two brothers herself and talk to them, try and understand them both. After all, they are also Caroline's family. After some thinking, she agreed but wanted her daughter left out of the loop for a while. I could agree with that. I stood to leave and she ended up following me out and following me to the house where my love was.
