Palace of Alcazarzary
Fuse
Hm. Garbanag is in the jungle, right? Probably getting ready to fight Plantera…
Could I, theoretically, team up with Plantera to kill Garbanag?
That might be worth a shot, considering my current power level wasn't even enough to take down the Guide, and Garbanag apparently beats Zach all day long.
Though, it still might be worth it to just go take a trip to the dungeon to see if I can start farming ectoplasm from the skeletons there. And even if I can't, I still need to refuel on souls so I don't run out mid-combat.
And I just remembered that I could be wearing armor from Terraria! I have the stylist profession, and I could make the armor invisible to keep my clothes fashionable.
Yeah, that's something I should look into. Maybe Garbanag has a spare set of armor I could steal from him?
Well, I need to set my priorities straight first. So the first thing I have to do is to repaint my butterfly wings to look less pink and more American.
So, with buckets of red, white, and blue, I'm going to paint the American flag onto my wings. And it's going to look glorious.
Underground Jungle
Garbanag
Sipping on his tea, made by himself using the finest plants he could find, Garbanag pats himself on the back for another boss well slain.
Sitting on the corpse of Plantera, he felt pretty proud of himself for this one, especially considering he managed to complete the fight without totally destroying everything.
Instead, everything was only mildly destroyed. He could still see some plant life here and there! Huge success!
Anyhow, the reason why Garbanag was starting to take notice of how much damage he was causing was because Fuse's appearance was a message to him that he needed to tone down on the amount of explosions around him. Even if just for the sake of any future world he travels to after he defeats the moonlord.
After all, Garbanag didn't want to destroy Dumpster in the scenario that Fuse would challenge him in his own town again.
Well, with the defeat on Plantera, Golem is next! And once Golem is defeated, he'll be able to become a god after he gets his hands on the ancient manipulator from the Lunatic Cultist.
Speaking of which, Garbanag was mildly curious to see if the Lunatic Cultist would be affected by the Waifu-izer thing going on, since Lunatic Cultist is only half a boss. He is kind of interested in seeing what's under that mask…
It's hard having a harem of like 20 people, but Garbanag would say that it was definitely worth it.
Anyhow, he's going to bet that he can kill the Golem in like, 2 hours. And the Lunatic Cultist in an hour after that. He was definitely going to speedrun his ascension into godhood. After all, why would he not?
There's no way becoming a god could ever backfire on him!
Fuse
Saying my goodbyes to Dori & Angeles, I jumped back into Garbanag's world and ended up back at Dumpster.
Knowing my objective, I make a straight line towards the storage area and quickly enter it without anyone questioning me.
Well, except Zach, "Well, what are you doing here again so soon?"
"Armor," I succinctly replied.
"Ah," Zach took a look at the chest monster, "They're in the mahogany chest in the corner over there."
"Thanks, dude," I thanked, heading over.
Opening the chest, I see a variety of different armor sets that could help me. But I'm specifically looking for a generalist set, as I'm alternating between my guns and my magic.
Eventually, I found the full queen slime set, which suits me pretty well in terms of generalist equipment. It just… Looks ugly though.
[Crystal Assassin Armor - Grants increased Power & Magic Ranks when worn. Grants the move [Dash] while wearing the full set.]
The color scheme just doesn't fit with me.
Well, that's why the moment I put on the helmet, I tried my best to conjure up a spell for it to become invisible as best as I possibly could and…
Spell created
[Invis-Transmog - Makes a piece of gear invisible. Does not transform the gear itself.]
Sweet. I was hoping to just make the gear turn into my clothing, but I guess this is the best I can do for now.
Equipping the full set, I felt pretty powerful now, even though my status sheet doesn't really reflect it. But either way, I felt decently confident in my ability to walk into the dungeon and collect all of their souls.
So, I asked Zach, "Hey, do you know if I can teleport to the dungeon straight away?"
Zach didn't even look at me as he said, "Ebonwood chest, grey potion with the skull on it."
I nodded, moving towards said chest, "Thanks again."
Finding the potion, I ready myself for the leap into the dungeon.
But then Zach asked, "By the way, Plantera died."
I paused, "Wait, seriously?"
Zach nodded, "Just arrived 30 minutes ago, yeah. Garbanag hasn't arrived yet though, so he might still be in the jungle."
To kill Golem? That's a bit bold, but if anyone could do it, it was probably Garbanag. Though, that does mean that I'm going to have to face an improved dungeon now…
But I'm still going to win.
"Thanks for the warning," I thanked again, "I'll be sure to not fight Garbanag here, then."
It would be kind of funny to watch Garbanag kill all of his friends(?) and family(?) but I like Zach enough to not do that.
That being said, I don't like them enough to deal with the whole Moon Lord situation after Garbanag dies.
I wonder what happens when Garbanag dies and that whole situation needs to be resolved.
Anyways, I found the potion Zach was talking about and told him, "Alright, the next time we meet, it's probably because I killed Garbanag. I hope that's not too upsetting for you."
Zach shrugged, seemingly unconcerned, "Let him kill the Moon Lord, at least."
"I would rather not," I dryly answered, knowing full well I would lose that fight.
Though, if I could team up with the Moon Lord…
Or hell, even Calamitas or that one jungle dragon boss I forgot the name of.
Though, I think Garbanag is trying to speedrun all of the vanilla bosses first before moving on to the Calamity enemies, especially considering how he didn't even bother to take down Desert Scourge, and the only Calamity boss I saw in the town was Calamita's clone.
Well, that was probably for the best. I really didn't want to see another Devourer of Gods… Though, maybe he was post Moon Lord? I haven't played Calamity in a while.
Zach frowned, "that's a shame. Well, I would wish you luck, but I assume you wouldn't want it."
I nodded, "Basically," I raised the dungeon bottle, "Cheers."
Drinking it all, my body felt the odd sensation of teleporting, and I blanked out for a moment, and when I was conscious again, I was at the dungeon.
Or, at least I think it was the dungeon.
The entire top half of the dungeon was blown off, and the ground was shattered to pieces. But the blue dungeon bricks proved it was still a dungeon, and there was still an entrance nearby.
If I had to bet, it was probably Garbanag fighting Skeletron.
Anyhow, I needed to farm up souls for my next big fight with Garbanag, and if the skeletons here have any souls, then it'll be great for me because with Plantera down, they should all be fairly powerful.
Of course, there is a non-zero chance I could get my ass kicked the second I get in there, but what's life without a few risks?
Descending into the dungeon depths, I immediately have to unfurl my American-themed butterfly wings which I had on my back to dodge the wheel of fire trying to kill me.
Then the skeletons appeared, all of them outfitted in post-plantera dungeon gear, and I shot first.
Jungle Temple
Garbanag
Yawning, he fired off one more arrow into the core of Golem, ending his pitiful existence.
Doing some light stretching as he let the notifications cascade over him, watching the remains of Golem bounce around for a bit as it tried to lose the energy from the force of his attacks.
A new lizhard came out from the walls, intending to harm him, but Garbanag's poison got to it before it could ever make any significant move.
He watched with some light amusement as he saw his pestilence rapidly eat through the dead body, very happy about the fact that even his plagues were destructive.
If he remembers correctly, Fuse is half-slime, so this might be less effective on him… But nonetheless, he is very excited for what's to come.
Now, all he needs to do is get to the dungeon for some ectoplasm, which will help him create the souls of fright he's missing.
And you know what? He's going to try to do the Lunatic Cultist at the same time. For fun.
Though, with how that's going to play out, it's probably going to end up as fighting the Lunatic Cultist while picking up ectoplasm on the side for fun…
Dungeon
Fuse
Dodging the paladin's hammer, I blew a hole in his head with Biden, causing him to die instantly. Letting me take his soul.
A moment later I dodged the ninja's kick and the sniper shot coming my way as I put up a wall to block off the sniper's sightline as I quick-swapped to Roosevelt to cut off the skeleton's leg, disabling it from fighting anymore.
A horde of 12 skeletons comes from a different direction, and I send out a soul slice to chop them all in half, quickly dealing with that situation.
A small lull in battle appeared, and I take the moment to thank God that these enemies all followed some sense of logic and physics as I could cut them in half fairly easily.
Smashing the head of the ninja with my foot, I killed it instantly, letting the soul and ectoplasm enter my inventory.
Speaking of which, I don't have to fight the ectoplasm, they were nice enough to just enter straight into my inventory.
Anyways, because of the blue water candles, spawn rates are up, and I have literally a hundred or two souls in my inventory now.
Plus, I've killed so many skeletons, I've actually been getting rank points! Isn't that neat?
Anyways, I dumped it all into speed.
Speed Rank: B-
I really needed to make sure I didn't get hit by any of Garbanag's attacks, because if I did, I would basically die in one hit. That would be the worst case scenario.
Well, anyways, I should keep farming up these skeletons so I can-
Suddenly, the dungeon shakes, and I get the instinctive feeling that Garbanag is ruining my day.
Probably by trying to fight the Lunatic Cultist, now that I'm thinking of reasons why he would be here now rather than directly fighting Plantera.
Meaning… The Lunar Invasion was about to commence unless I stopped him.
Shit.
I was pretty deep in the dungeon because I was moving around a lot as I continued my slaughter, but I was pretty confident that going up would solve most of my problems.
Knowing this, I began to dash towards where I thought the exit would be.
The skeletons weren't going to just let that happen, of course, as they all fired their arrows and dashed towards me.
So, I decided to pull out a new spell out of my ass.
[Spell Created: [Soul Shield].]
[Soul Shield - A protective barrier made of souls. Strength and flexibility is dependent on the power of the souls used.]
Conjuring a shield to appear around me, I blocked all of their attacks as I kept running.
Suddenly, the path I was taking suddenly exploded.
Dust filled the air as I realized that Garbanag had just sent an explosive arrow down here, completely intending to keep me chained down here.
Luckily though, now I knew where he was.
I sprinted through the dust, taking notice of all of the skeletons dying due to some sort of plague, likely from Garbanag's Plague Doctor class. That was going to be a pain in the ass to ignore.
Eventually, sunlight started to reach my eyes, and I knew I was getting closer to the surface.
As I reached it, I was gifted with the sight of Garbanag standing in front of the Ancient Manipulator.
Garbanag noticed me, and turned towards me as he laughed, "Hahaha! You're too late, Fuse! I'm about to become a god!"
Garbanag pulls out some sort of putrid heart out of his inventory, and begins to eat it. His body transforming into a more divine form.
I smiled at the sight.
This fucking dumbass.
AN:
I wrote this all at 2:15 AM on the day it's supposed to be uploaded. Why?
1, I'm an idiot who delayed this until Friday, and I didn't do anything for most of Friday.
2, I'm this fucking dumbass.
Anyways, if anything sounds wrong this chapter, I'll probably fix it when I wake up because I'm just going to upload this and get it over with.
Chapter 19 will come out on the 30th and will be titled "Destructive Fragment of The Domino."
Chapter 20th will be April Fools.
Chapter 21 will likely just be catching up with Dori and the whole situation with the traveler back on Teyvat. Probably some lines towards ignoring the whole Lunar Invasion thing.
And chapter 22 will be the start of a new world.
10 chapters per world? Maybe, maybe. Though April Fools is half the reason why Garbanag is being defeated so quickly…
Anyways, see you when I wake up.
