He wasn't sure anything could ever be enough to mend their years of separation; of silence, misunderstandings, and rejection that was ultimately unfounded.

Soul bit the inside of his cheek. Despite having faced and ultimately helping Maka win against the kishin, there was still madness in the world, and he couldn't forget his duty just because they'd been victorious once. His own problems were nothing in comparison to his responsibilities. "She doesn't love you because you're close to becoming a death weapon, you know." "...What?"

It was probably a futile effort to begin with. There wasn't any type of psychology Stein could use to make his weapon understand his desire without giving away too much, and he was certain beyond a doubt that Spirit Albarn had never entertained the idea of kissing a boy. But Stein's thoughts slowed at the nervous resignation on his weapon's face. "You want to try it, don't you."

For Aimi, her only reason for joining the DWMA was to earn money and support her partner and herself. Though she would admit competing against her fellow Meisters to make the next Death Scythe was pretty entertaining. Sure, they were risking their lives every day, but their commissions were never on the extremely dangerous side. Or at least, that's what she first believed.

The eighteen-year-old new father had described every one of the newborn's features at least twice and proclaimed it perfect, and Stein simply took in this new and unique behavior from his former partner of five years. It was also an acceptable distraction for the moment over the fact that with this birth, any hope he had of reclaiming his weapon partner was well and truly lost.

Maka loved her mother. And she made it clear each time her father tried to see her that there was no room left for him in her heart. It was in Spirit's nature to hold on to hope, but the hard truth was that since the divorce...he had been well and truly alone. Except for the bottle, of course.

He remembered the blow. He remembered pain along the whole of his blade, shudders jarring the steel all the way to the end of the handle in his meister's grasp. He remembered being released as his soul cried out in agony, falling and spinning haphazardly. And he remembered a feral scream, feeling the crackle of electricity in the air before everything went dark.

5 years after the defeat of Asura, the world knows peace. But a new group threatens to overturn the world order. Stealing the medallions which hold the madness of the gods themselves; can our heroes defeat this group of villains? Or will the world be forced to adopt the image of a new Pantheon of gods?
