Chapter 55

Hadrian and Lily came out of the floo inside the Headmasters office where Dumbledore and others teachers were present. Along with them was The Minister of Magic, Amelia Bones, and the Board of Governors that was made up of - Sirius Black, Frank Longbottom, Theodre Nott Sr, Edgar Bones, Cyrus Greegrass, and others.

~FLASHBACK~

"Oh no, Mr. Potter, it's not a Potter account. No, this account belonged to Godric Gryffindor." Ragnok informed Charlus and Hadrian as they were meeting.

"So it is about 4 other inheritances," Hadrian said. As he expected, there was a massive workload regarding the inheritances. He had not yet looked over the finances that his lovely ancestors had left behind, but for some reason, Charlus had that strange twinkle in his eyes... Dumbledore may have influenced that.

Ragnok Nodded his head and replied, "Yes, and since you are the heir to Gryffindor, everything in the account goes to you."

"So, what does that mean exactly?" Hadrian anxiously asked.

Ragnok walked over to the desk and pulled out a file, turning back smoothly and walked to the table and sat down. He opened the file and pulled out a piece of paper, "It looks like you own several houses, a lakeside property, and some monetary inheritance, which will be transferred to your vault."

Upon hearing this, Hadrian slowly relaxed, "That's not too bad.. You made it sound like it was something shocking," he said with a relieved laugh.

Charlus smirked at him and said, "He might have forgotten to mention that you also own Hogwarts."

Hadrian's laughter caught in his throat as he stared at his grandfather. He didn't blink, he didn't move, he didn't even breathe. He just stared at him. After a few seconds, he took a deep, gasping breath.

"How!? I thought the founders left Hogwarts for the Ministry to handle?" Hadrian asked, blinking up at him.

"When the Founders decided to build the school, each founder contributed an equal amount of money to have it built. After it was built, they filed the deed to the castle, and each Founder got a fourth of the property. This was to allow for equal ownership. They also agreed that if for some reason one of the bloodlines were to die out, the deed from that particular bloodline would be transferred over to one of the other bloodlines. This was a safety measure created to make sure that none of the bloodlines ever lost control of the school," Ragnok explained.

"As the generations passed, control of the school was taken over by the Ministry, and the deeds were forgotten. When Voldemort rose to power before you were born, he killed off the last of the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff bloodlines. Which meant that the control of their deeds were transferred to Gryffindor and Slytherin. Once you were chosen as the Gryffindor and Slytherin Heirship, all four shares of the deed now belonged to you, giving you full ownership of Hogwarts. The castle is yours to do with what you want. There is also a vault that the Founders had set up for running the school, should you decide to take it out of the Ministry's control. Money is always being added to the vault, no matter who has control over it. Initially, the Potter's gifted the vault to Hogwarts and with it, a huge fortune. Not to forget that the founders also added some of their family fortune into it. That money was tactically used by Lord Salazar Slytherin, with the help of Gringotts, and they set it up in such a way that money constantly flows in from various investments in profitable wizarding businesses," Ragnok explained.

"Does the Ministry of Magic know about the vault?" Hadrian asked.

"Yes, the Ministry does know about it. They tried to gain access to the funds many times but we would not let them access it. It was a pact signed between the Goblins and the Founders that the vault could only be accessed by one of the heirs, since they are the true owners of Hogwarts," Ragnok informed him.

Hadrian sat there in silence for a moment, trying to understand the information he had just learned. He owned Hogwarts.

"What does that mean exactly? I mean about me owning Hogwarts? What does it mean?" he asked as Charlus facepalmed himself, stupidity runs in the bloodline, but currently, Hadrian was the epitome of it.

"It means that you can bypass the Ministry and the Board of Governors in the running of the school. In fact, they no longer have a say in what you can or can't do with the school. You may do whatever you want with the school." Charlus tried to explain to Hadrian.

Hadrian sat back and looked pleased, a strange gleam in his eyes, "When can I take control of Hogwarts?" he asked.

"As the ministry was not given the rights to look after Hogwarts by the founder or by their heir, you can take control whenever you see fit."

Hadrian nodded, "I would like it if you personally managed the accounting of Hogwarts vaults. Hogwarts is a large piece of property, and I want it to stay a school. I'll admit, I have no knowledge of how to run a school, but as a student, there are several things I want to change. There are several teachers that need to be fired simply because they cannot teach at all. There is a ghost that needs to be rid of, simply because he doesn't teach anything worthwhile."

"Once the paperwork is done, I need you to find me several candidates for new subjects which will be added, some replacements for present teachers, and some assistant Professors for all subjects taught at Hogwarts. The teachers we have now are either ineffectual or downright malicious. I'll no longer have them in that school, teaching those children. The only reason they were hired is Dumbdoor. I'm tired of his lack of good sense getting in the way," Hadrian said firmly.

"Would you like to get rid of Dumbledore too?" Ragnok asked, grinning.

Hadrian paused, then shook his head. "No, I don't. While I personally can't stand the man (understatement) the kids at the school love him and he loves them. I won't take that away from him, yet. If he tries to interfere in the way things are run from now on, that might be an option later. I don't want to have to fire the teachers, but those particular teachers are getting paid for services they are not doing," Hadrian explained.

Ragnok nodded, "Very well, if you would sign these, I will begin the preparations." Ragnok slid the papers towards Hadrian and he signed them.

Hadrian had decided to change Hogwarts curriculum for good. Lily and Dorea had been a huge help, and, considering the changes he was planning, Lily was the most important person in the plan. The Curriculum Plan not only dealt with ignorant Muggleborns, but also, Prideful Purebloods.

"I don't know how I would handle Hogwarts without you guys" Hadrian sighed.

"Nonsense darling, you would do a great job no matter what" Dorea said with her ever loving smile.

"Yes, I agree with Dorea. Besides, I always wanted to change Hogwarts. It was way behind in the quality of education compared to other Magical Schools." Lily stated.

"Great! So Mum, there has been a new opening in Hogwarts which I am sure you would love to fill." Hadrian said, grinning widely.

A week later, Hadrian received a letter from Ragnok stating that all necessary arrangements for Hadrian's transfer of control had been made. The vault was active and Ragnok had a list of teachers that he requested Hadrian look over.

Hadrian looked over the list and decided that he would ask Lily to pick out the candidates. He just wanted someone who wasn't too harsh, and who actually knew what they were doing. So he thought, who would be better at judging a teacher, than the brightest witch of her age. The plans were made and it was decided Hadrian would take control in the council meeting being held at Hogwarts in a few days. The Board of Governors was made of a few of the Most ancient and Noble houses, thus Hadrian had decided to form a new Committee: The Hogwarts Management Committee (HMC) . This committee would not be like the Board of Governors who would vote on matters and gallop off.

~FLASHBACK END~

Hadrian and Lily walked up to the table and sat down as Sirius and others grinned.

Dumbledore looked from Hadrian to Lily, confused. "Harry, what's going on?" he asked kindly, his eyes no longer twinkling.

Hadrian gave Dumbledore an icy smile. "I, Hadrian James Potter, by decree of Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff, am sole owner of Hogwarts. As owner and master of the castle, I now ask it to do my bidding." Hadrian withdrew a dagger from a sheath that had been resting on his hip and cut his palm. The blood spilled down onto the stone floor of the castle, and the room began to glow. "As heir to Gryffindor and Slytherin, I ask the castle to reclaim its rightful master." Hadrian watched as the room glowed brightly, and the castle began to hum. He could feel the magic in the castle reaching towards him, searching, and finding what it needed. With a gasp, he felt the wards fall to him, embracing him like a blanket. He was aware of everything that was happening in the castle; the children, the grounds, even the edges of the Forbidden Forest. With a final pulse, the magic pulled back and sat in the back of his mind, waiting to be called forth.

Hadrian took a deep breath and cast his eyes around the room. Everyone stared at him in shock and Dumbledore stared at him in stunned silence. "Harry? What have you done? What happened to the wards?" he asked.

"It's Lord Peverell or Heir Potter, Dumb-dore. I have taken back what is mine by birthright. I now own Hogwarts and I alone control the wards," Hadrian said calmly.

"You what?" Dumbledore asked hoarsely.

"I know you're old, but you're not deaf. You heard what I said. Since I own Hogwarts, I can do what I want."

"The Ministry won't allow you, Mr Potter," McGonagall said in a disapproving tone.

"The Ministry has no say in it. I own the castle, not the Ministry or the Board of Governors. If I so choose, I can throw everyone out of this school, and use it as my home. The Ministry can't get to me if I don't allow it."

"How did you become the owner?" Dumbledore asked, a slight panic edging into his typically calm voice.

"What? Are you really that senile? I'm my ancestors' descendant. There is something called coupli..." Hadrian began as he was interrupted by Lily.

"Harry.." Lilly warned him.

"Fine," Hadrian sighed.

"Would Professor Trelawney stand, please?" Hadrian asked kindly.

The woman looked at everyone in confusion, but stood up. Harry walked over to her and smiled. "If you were any kind of teacher or seer, you would have seen this coming. As ineffectual of a teacher as you are, you're fired and hereby replaced. Please gather your things and leave the castle. I'll give you a couple of days to get yourself together, but if I find that you have stolen or broken anything that belongs to the school, I'll have your arse in Azkaban faster than you can say crystal ball."

Professor Trelawney looked at Hadrian in shock, tears in her eyes as she started to cry. She gave a loud wail and ran out of the Great Hall. Hadrian smiled in satisfaction and called out the next name.

"Professor Sherbert, please stand."

The mousy-haired, quivering man reminded Harry too much of Quirrell. He was just as ineffectual as a teacher as the stuttering man had been. He couldn't teach anything worth a damn in the DADA classes. Harry thought Dumbledore just hired him because of his name.

"You're fired. You're incompetent at best. You faint at the mention of the Dark Arts, how can you even teach the students anything?"

The quivering man fainted at the mention of Dark Arts and Harry looked at Dumbledore and rolled his eyes, exasperated. "And people wonder why we've had seven DADA teachers," Harry told him wryly. Everyone chuckled.

Harry turned around and smiled at the shocked teachers. He looked at the ghost Binns and smiled. "Professor Binns, I'm sorry, but as a ghost you can no longer teach here. Please move on or be exorcised. There is more to history than the Goblin Wars, and frankly, you aren't teaching us anything we need to know. It's time for you to rest."

Professor Binns looked shocked then thoughtful. "You know Hadrian, I think you're right. I am awfully tired. I think I will rest." With that said, he disappeared into a bright shiny light.

"Any others who want to leave are free to leave" Hadrian said as he turned to the board of Governors and the Minister of Magic.

"The Ministry of Magic is now not welcomed to take part in the Management of Hogwarts, but it is free to give valuable suggestions. And yes, The Board of Governors is an incompetent body and is henceforth dissolved." Theodre Nott seemed to grumble about it but everyone else accepted with a nod.

"Lord Peverell, I as the Minister of Magic of Magical Britain cannot leave a whole school such as Hogwarts unsupervised!" Amelia objected.

"I understand your predicament Minister Bones, hence the ministry can send a representative to the newly formed HCM short for Hogwarts Management Committee. The representative can only give valuable suggestions which the Committee is obliged to listen to, only if its valuable, if it's not, that representative will not be entertained." Hadrian said as Amelia nodded.

Soon the committee was announced with Lily being appointed as President of the Committee and as the Chairman of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Hadrian had transferred control of the wards to Lily and from now on, each and every thing, like hiring new staff, would be Lily's decision not Dumbledore's.

In the committee, the members would take up various roles in management:

Blacks - Head of Infrastructure Maintenance Department.

Greengrass' and Longbottoms - Head of Greenhouses Maintenance and Functioning Department.

Malfoys - Head of Potions Laboratory Maintenance and Functioning.

Edward Tonks - Head of Sports Department.

Bones - Head of Hospital / Healers Department.

Dirk Cresswell - Children Welfare Department.

And many others. The Weasleys took up the role of Maintaining Hogwarts Grounds and the Forest surrounding it, and the Goblins were given the contract for maintaining security of the castle and grounds from various magical creatures residing in the forest.

Hadrian had allowed the Minister to attend the first meeting of the Committee in which new curriculum was presented in front of the committee members and remaining teachers.
