The first thing that hit me when I woke up was the sensation of absolute nothingness. No defining shapes, no sounds, just a void that seemed to swallow my very existence whole.
"Well, this is different." I quipped, a frown forming on my lips. Shouldn't I be freaking out right now? I mean, waking up in the middle of nowhere isn't exactly a normal occurrence, right?
I glanced around, or at least attempted to. But surprise, surprise – there was nothing to see. Just an endless expanse of darkness stretching out in every direction.
So, where the heck am I? I mused to myself, feeling a twinge of panic creeping up. This was not on my list of places to visit.
Physics decided to take a holiday too. I mean, I should be plummeting to my doom right about now, but nope, nothing. I'm just chilling here, defying gravity like it's no big deal.
In a futile attempt to break the silence, I shouted into the abyss. "ANYBODY HOME?"
Of course, my cries were met with nothing but echoing silence. The void seemed to mock my feeble attempts at communication, bouncing my voice back at me.
Fabulous. Stuck in the middle of nowhere with no GPS and no idea how I got there. Talk about a vacation gone wrong. I grumbled to myself, frustration bubbling up.
Am I in some sort of limbo? Wait, what even is limbo? With each question came another, and soon enough, I was more bored than panicked.
As I mulled over my predicament, a weird realization dawned on me – I couldn't remember who I was. It was like someone hit the reset button on my brain, leaving me as a blank slate in this never-ending void.
Confusion mingled with curiosity as I pondered my identity. Who am I? What's my deal? These questions danced around my head, taunting me to find answers.
But how do you search for something when you don't even know what you're looking for? I sighed, frustration mounting as memories slipped through my fingers like water.
"Does it even matter? I'm a nobody." I waved off my existential crisis, deciding to focus on the more pressing matter at hand – giving myself a name.
Taking a peek down at my attire, I couldn't help but scoff. Black shirt, black pants, black shoes – talk about being plain. Clearly, my past self had a thing for the color black.
Names are supposed to mean something, right? But here I am, the only inhabitant of Nowheresville. Choosing a name felt pointless until it hit me – the perfect name that encapsulates my essence.
Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and uttered the name that would define me in this void. "Fildde."
And just like that, as if on cue, the darkness around me faded away, replaced by blinding light.
