Finn unlocked his front door and stepped inside his house. Immediately he felt it. Something was different. He walked silently through the house and out to the back door. He found the door unlocked and pulled out his gun. Someone was in his house and he wasn't about to be caught defenseless.

He continued forward with light footsteps and stopped when he reached the bathroom door. He normally left it open but it was ajar. He held his breath and listened. He couldn't hear anything. He placed a hand on the door, pushed it open, and aimed his gun at the person sitting on his floor.

"Are you gonna kill me?" Kelpie asked.

He forgot how to breathe for a second when he saw she was in his house. When he left that lifestyle behind, she had chosen to stay in the game, and therefore he had to leave her too. It wasn't like he could tell people he wanted to retire from a life as a hitman. They would have killed him if he had. She was the only one he had trusted enough to air the idea around. When it didn't seem like she wanted out, he had disappeared in the night. And now she sat there bleeding on his bathroom floor. Her long, cappuccino brown hair was a mess, and tears of pain were in her pearl grey eyes.

"Kelpie!" He snapped for breath.

He dropped down next to her and examined her. He lifted up her shirt and looked for a bullet wound. Luckily he didn't find one. She was still in a rough shape so something had happened.

"What happened?" He asked.
"I ran into the twins," she said.
"The Usos?" He asked.
"It fucking hurts, Finn," she said.

He quickly got up and got some items to help clean her up. She kept sitting on the floor and allowed him to do his best. From what he could see, she had taken a beating. At least she would heal from that a lot quicker than a knife or a gun. He sighed and shook his head.

"I told you to get out," he said.
"Guess I'm not as smart as you," she said. "And you didn't exactly tell me to get out. You were quite vague about it. It wasn't until we all realized you were gone that I understood what you had tried to say."

He sighed again and nodded at her. She was right. He had been vague because he had to. He couldn't be sure if she would turn on him if he straight up asked her to leave with him. He didn't think she would but in their world they could never be sure about anything. He had seen it before.

"How did you know where I was?" He asked.
"I've known for a long time," she said.

He smirked at her and let out a little chuckle. He had left a back door to his life open, hoping she would find him one day. Hoping she would come join him once she was ready to leave that lifestyle behind.

"I knew you would keep track of me," he said. "How do you think you managed to hack my computer?"

The look on her face told him that was exactly how she had figured out where he was hiding.

"No one else knows," she said.
"I trust you," he said. "Alright, let me help you up. The floor is too hard and cold for you to sleep on tonight."

He stood up and helped her up. She gritted her teeth and cried out in pain until she was up on her feet. She would be good to go soon enough. In the meantime he would take care of her and keep her safe. He helped her into the bedroom where she sat down on the bed.

"I should have known it was a trap," she said.
"What happened?" He asked.
"Somewhere along the line I fucked up. Someone sold me out," she sighed. "I was hired to take down a sister to a politician because she threatened to ruin his career. Or so we were told."
"We?" He asked.
"I don't know if anyone else knew. I was told to deal with her. Instead I found the twins waiting for me. Jey had an iron pipe in his hand while Jimmy kept it natural with his hands," she said.

He sat down next to her and took her hand. It hurt to know what she had been through but he was still grateful she had made it out alive. The twins didn't mess around either. If they had been there, they had been hired to kill her. She knew that as well as he did.

"I had my gun but that iron pipe came swinging from out of nowhere and knocked it out of my hand. They kicked it aside and beat me up, and then a phone rang," she said.
"Who called?" He asked.
"I don't know. Whoever hired them. They stupidly answered the call and I crawled over to my gun. I heard Jimmy tell the caller not to worry and that they had me there, and then he turned to grin at me. That grin got wiped of his face pretty fucking fast when he found my gun pointing at him. I blew a hole in his head and aimed at Jey. He jumped behind a pillar but I still hit his leg. He screamed for a second and then went silent. I didn't dare move over to his hiding place because I had no clue if he had anything other than that iron pipe in his hands. I got out of there before he figured out how to kill me or call for backup. I found their car outside with the keys still in it, and I drove a couple of hours here to find you. Don't worry about the car. It went missing in the lake," she said.

He chuckled at that last information. There were at least two other cars on the bottom of that lake that he knew about so a third one wouldn't be a problem. It was a deep lake and if those cars were ever found years from now, all evidence would have been washed off.

"Someone sold me out, Finn," she said.
"Let's find out who," he said.
"I thought you retired," she said.
"Sometimes we come back for more," he smirked. "Let's go through the whole thing step by step and trace our way backwards. Whoever wanted you gone is a dead man."
