A/N I promised a reviewer that I'd make a mutant Xander that affects canon. And since I had alot of fun writing and researching the last one I'm going straight into the next one. But it's going to delve into an area I didn't touch on in the last one. Inhumans also known as NuHumans.

######

Halloween night in Sunnydale California. Anywhere else and kids are trick or treating. But Sunnydale is home to the Hellmouth, a dimensional portal to a literal Hell or possibly Hells. Which makes it a mecca for creatures believed to be myths, most especially vampires. Halloween is generally considered a quiet night for them since it's also a night humans celebrate the supernatural. Which is why Ethan Rayne chose this night to play his idea of a prank on anyone who bought a costume from him.

Unfortunately the people also are somewhat isolated from the rest of society by a phenomenon known as Sunnydale Syndrome. If it's hard to believe or accept, they tend to ignore it's existence, which is why the citizens of Sunnydale are only vaguely aware of mutants, aliens and the Inhumans. Inhumans being the descendents of humans who were experimented on by an alien race known as the Kree. Inhumans chose to continue experimenting on themselves after the Kree abandoned the project using the Terrigen Crystals that the Kree left behind.

Then the Kree remembered their abandoned experiment and came back to claim the results. The Inhumans objected and fought back. They succeeded in driving the Kree back, but at a terrible cost. Their once great civilization now lays in ruins and most of them are dead. Black Bolt, the leader of the Inhumans created a Terrigen Bomb determined to unleash the Terrigen Mist on humanity and transform humans with Inhuman ancestry.

Which brings us to Sunnydale California and Halloween night. While Black Bolt did not unleash his bomb on the unsuspecting Earth then, a battle with Thanos, the Mad Titan did cause the bomb to detonate. All over the world mutants are dying and humans with Inhuman ancestry are being cocooned as they began Terrigenesis.

Which will include two of Sunnydale's citizens.

"Him you can shoot!" Ghost Willow yelled at Solder Xander as Spike attacked their group. His minions were holding Angel, the vampire with a soul and keeping him from helping the transformed into a brainless noblewoman Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. With no knowledge of her true life or abilities she was helpless as the bleach blond vampire bent over her exposed throat. Cordelia, dressed as a cat and unaffected felt just as helpless as the captive Angel and ghostly Willow did. Soldier Xander was the only one in a position to even try to help, which he did by raising his gun to his shoulder and preparing to fire, just as Rupert Giles, Buffy's Watcher, forced the means of ending the spell from his nemesis, Ethan Rayne. Unfortunately, none of them realized that at that same moment the wind allowed the Terrigen Mist unleashed by the Terrigen Bomb to flow through Sunnydale. Soldier Xander took a deep breath and held it as he squeezed the trigger of his gun, which was no longer a functional weapon, but a toy. Buffy's hair returned to being a wig and Ghost Willow disappeared.

"Hi, honey. I'm home." Buffy announced and began to kick Spike's butt. Spike decided the atmosphere might be more friendly somewhere else and ran, his minions following suit. Ghost Willow disappeared. Something else happened to Xander Harris and Cordelia Chase.

"Buffy are you alright?" Angel asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Wasn't Willow just here?"

"She was a ghost of herself. She's probably back in her own body." He looked around and realized something.

"What's happened to Xander and Cordelia?"

Buffy looked around and realized Angel was right, something had happened to them. They both appeared to wrapped in some sort of cocoon.

"We were under a spell, did something go wrong with the spell?" Buffy asked.

"Cordelia wasn't affected by the spell." Angel told her. "She was dressed like a cat but didn't transform. This must be something else."

"Let's get them to the library and let Giles check them out." Buffy suggested.

"Good idea." Angel agreed. "I think that one is Xander." He said pointing at one of the cocoons. "I'll take him and you take Cordelia."

"Alright." Buffy agreed and picked up the cocoon containing Cordelia, while Angel picked up the one containing Xander and the two of them set out for the Sunnydale High School library, where they hoped to find answers.

Carefully setting the pair down on the floor of the library, they waited for Giles and Willow to return, which didn't take long as the library was the Scooby Gang's, as Xander called them, headquarters.

"What are those?" Giles asked, puzzled by the appearance of human sized cocoons.

"We think it's Xander and Cordelia." Buffy said. "This happened to them just as the spell ended. Angel pointed out that Cordelia wasn't affected by the spell, so whatever this is, is something else."

"Oh dear, this is going to take some researching. I can't think of any reason normal humans could end up inside of what looks like cocoons."

"What if a demon took advantage of the chaos tonight and did this in order to eat them later?" Willow asked, worried for her not so secret crush.

"I don't know of any demons that cocoon their victims." Giles replied. "However insects do cocoon their prey and we have encountered one human sized type insect, so that is a possibility that needs to be explored. Willow, use the computer and see if you can find any references to other instance of humans being cocoon. I'll consult my books."
