Here's the first chapter to a new story I've been thinking about for a while now! I hope you all enjoy it!
P.S. – Don't worry, I still plan to update my previous stories if anyone here is following those as well!

Solving a Crisis
Amaterasu was a powerful goddess.
No, she is a powerful goddess.
However, at this current moment, she was biting her lip in worry as she looked over her domain. She had just received news that Susanoo, her younger brother, had just offended the Greek pantheon. Normally, this wouldn't be the worst issue in the world. An apology or two could normally solve an issue like this.
Now normally, Amaterasu wouldn't concern herself with such a trivial issue. However, Susanoo had done a very horrible thing. He had tried to seduce the Greek goddess, Artemis, while wandering around in their domain.
Given that he returned with bruises, marks, and injuries, it was clear to see that he was unsuccessful in his attempts. Amaterasu shook her head, knowing that her younger brother was something of a womanizer.
It appeared that the deity still had a high libido, despite the many wives, lovers, and children he produced throughout his lifetime.
After coming back home, it seemed that Artemis told her father about the encounter. This was horrible for Amaterasu, as gods were not allowed to approach the domains of others without prior approval. This was seen as a slight on their behalf and even more with Susanoo's altercation.
Given that Artemis was one of Zeus's most beloved daughters, this caused an uproar among the Greeks.
Zeus had demanded a meeting with her, which she obliged instantly. It was a meeting from leader to leader. After a few heated words on his behalf, he left demanding some type of retribution. If she did not comply with his words within the week, Zeus promised that he would declare war on her domain.
This was worrying for Amaterasu, as she considered herself to be a problem-solver. She did not want to drag her family and warriors into a senseless battle, especially considering they were in the wrong. Even if they were the ones to come out on top, it would not come without heavy losses and damage.
She could not be seen as a warmonger or somebody who couldn't admit when they were in the wrong, they had to fix their mistakes. As the pantheon's leader, it was up to her to make it right.
To her brother's credit, he did come to her right away and admit his fault. He claimed he was slightly drunk and didn't mean to wander so far into the Greek's domain and came upon Artemis by chance. She shook her head at his explanation.
After a few moments of stressing, Amaterasu came to a solution. It would greatly hurt their pantheon, but it had to be done.
"I could go…there…" she thought.
A series of landscapes and villages appeared in her mind. The Elemental Nations. It was the only place that she could go to that wouldn't directly affect her family's well-being.
This was an alternate reality, like a dimension, that was fully controlled by the Shinto pantheon. It was created to offer new life to humans, and it slowly evolved into what it is today. It was beloved by the pantheon, with only a few gods non-caring about the reality.
They could view the past, present, and future in this reality like a slideshow. They could even manipulate certain elements while there. After all, they were the creators of this world.
With a flash of light, Amaterasu disappeared.
In the Elemental Nations – Sarutobi Hiruzen's Office
Amaterasu reappeared within the office of the current Hokage's office. Sarutobi was currently out, discussing with his ANBU about how to rebuild their village. They had just been attacked by the Kyuubi only hours earlier.
However, the Hokage wasn't her concern. Instead, she glanced down at the baby in the crib within the office, as he softly sniffled.
Peering into the crib, Amaterasu softly stroked the baby's cheek. She sported a sad smile, hoping the child wouldn't hate her for the sins of her brother. He was a completely innocent soul, a baby, and he was already doomed to a fate not his fault.
"Naruto Uzumaki…" Amaterasu whispered, "…what a beautiful name…"
The baby leaned into the affection and giggled, making her smile even more. She took a deep breath before snapping her fingers. Instantly, the Shinigami of this world appeared with a serious look. No mortal could view the two deities if they were to walk into the office.
"Yes, Lady Amaterasu?" spoke the death god in a serious tone.
"Please present the souls of Kushina Uzumaki and Minato Namikaze, I only wish to speak to them for a few moments."
Nodding his head, the Shinigami granted the request and both souls appeared. They were initially confused but stared at the beautiful woman in front of them.
"Kushina, Minato, I am pleased to meet you both. My name is Amaterasu and I am the goddess of the sun," the deity spoke, "I am sorry to disturb your peace, but I thought it would only be fair to explain what will happen to your son."
It hurt Amaterasu to tear this family apart more than they already were. She spent the next few minutes explaining the world of the gods, her role in everything, and why she was here. After allowing them both to leave a final spiritual imprint on their infant son, both souls disappeared.
However, before they left, Amaterasu transferred the other half of Kurama's soul into the infant Naruto. Normally, the baby would not be able to handle such an influx of chakra, but Naruto had help with his Uzumaki genes. Furthermore, to ensure the beast was sealed, Amaterasu also gave Naruto her blessing to help strengthen his body. He would also have her favor, he was her champion after all. It was the least she could do for the child.
Once the two deceased parents left with one final, tearful goodbye to their son, they disappeared. The Shinigami also followed, leaving the Hokage's office like he was never there to begin with.
Picking up Naruto gently, Amaterasu cooed the baby while softly rocking it back and forth. This allowed the child to calm down and sleep.
"I'm so sorry…" Amaterasu nearly cried at condemning a child to sins they had nothing to do with, but she needed to make a choice. "I'm so, so sorry… I hope you can forgive me…"
She held a lot of compassion for children and hated what she had to do. With one final look around, both individuals were gone. Sarutobi wouldn't return for another thirty minutes.
Hall of the Gods – Olympus
"We are we here?" Hermes asked as he tapped his foot insistently, clearly annoyed.
"I'm gonna have to agree with the mailman," Apollo smiled, ignoring Hermes's glare. "Why were we all called so suddenly?"
Each of the Twelve Olympians was called in mere seconds by their leader. Despite their current duties, each one respected Zeus enough to appear without delay. The only person to appear late was Ares, who was reprimanded by Zeus publicly.
Zeus answered with authority in his voice, "As you all know, we recently had an… issue with the Shinto pantheon."
Everybody straightened up at this.
"Their leader has contacted me and explained they will be here soon with their offering of forgiveness…"
"So were are all here to see what they're bringing as a token?" Aphrodite asked with a finger on her chin.
"We are," Athena answered, "I'm assuming we're also here to provide support should this be an attack or ambush against our domain."
Zeus nodded, confirming Athena's suspicions.
Suddenly, a bright flash of light appeared in the center of the room. The only people to not look away momentarily were Zeus and Apollo. Zeus was able to handle the immense glow due to his vast power, while Apollo specialized in being a sun god himself.
The flash was even brighter than when the Olympians took their godly form, showing how powerful this person was.
Once the glow died down, a calm Amaterasu appeared with a baby in her hands.
"I see you've arrived, Shinto goddess," Zeus's voice boomed throughout the hall. It was clear he was not amused at seeing another god enter their domain.
"I have," Amaterasu answered, her voice as smooth as honey while also carrying a tone of power.
Zeus looked down at the sun goddess's arms, viewing the baby who was currently asleep. It was clear he was under some kind of charm or spell as to not awake during this meeting of godly beings.
"And your token of forgiveness is a baby?" Zeus spat out like venom, not amused at all. He looked like he was a moment away from striking down the goddess, or at least attempting to.
"It is," Amaterasu said while never diverting her eyes away, "The baby in my arms is named Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze, an infant from our pantheon's reality."
"Personal reality?" Zeus asked with a raised eyebrow, "Explain."
So Amaterasu spent the twenty minutes explaining the development of the Elemental Nations. She explained how it started many eons ago, how time passed differently in the world, and how humans had chakra, unlike the humans of this world.
After explaining everything about the land, Athena seemed to be incredibly intrigued by the idea of this new world. It seemed many of the customs within the Shinto pantheon carried over to this reality, as she expected.
"Excuse my interruption," Hera spoke out, keeping her gaze sharp, "But what does this world have anything to do with your… token?"
Amaterasu hardened her gaze, "The child in my hands is the Child of Prophecy of that world. By taking him out, I have effectively doomed that reality to end without their savior. Decades and decades of Shinto development that have been poured into this world, will crumble without this hero in my arms."
"Hmm…" Hera hummed while leaning back on her throne.
Ares snorted, "It must be a fragile world if it can crumble without one person to hold up the pieces."
Amaterasu looked over with a frown, "Do not underestimate that land, it has warriors that could even rival the gods of this world. Some could even best you in combat."
Ares's smile went away after hearing this.
Zeus waved his hand, eager to end any conversation going on. "So why bring him here? Why doom your pantheon's project?"
"Because I want to show our commitment to fixing our wrong," Amaterasu spoke, "By allowing our precious reality to die out, we show that we mean to fully fix our mistake against Artemis."
Zeus looked over at his daughter, watching her expression. As expected, she looked calm, and collected, but ready to fight at a moment's notice.
"As a Child of Prophecy, he is immensely important and can grow to limitless potential," Amaterasu spoke, "So I bring him here to Olympus and ask if you would allow me to take him in. Adopt him, train him, and allow him to love Olympus as a defender. He could prove great strength to your ranks."
Zeus snorted, "Why would I do that? Why would I allow a potential threat to rise in our pantheon? You could have even influenced his mind to turn against us when we least expect it!"
The paranoia that usually surrounded the King of Olympus reared its ugly head once again.
"You have a goddess of magic in this realm, correct?" Amaterasu asked.
Zeus gave a slow nod, confused as to where this was going.
"Perfect," Amaterasu said, "Then bring her here, and ask her to examine this child for any mind-altering spells, charms, or enchantments. If she can prove I have tampered with this child for malicious intent, I will allow you to smite me down."
Now this raised the eyebrows of Zeus, including many other of the Olympians. This was not a claim that could be made so easily, especially when you are the leader of another pantheon altogether.
Snapping his fingers, Hecate appeared in a flash of electricity.
"Hecate, please examine the infant before you for any mind-altering hexes or charms. If you can find any, notify me," the King of Olympus commanded.
Despite being confused at her sudden call to action, Hecate did as she was asked. After searching around in Naruto's mind for a few moments, along with sensing anything that could alter his mind, she found nothing.
Turning around, she gave the King of Olympus a shake of her head. Nodding in acceptance, he snapped his fingers once more and Hecate was gone.
"What about this beast you spoke of earlier?" Artemis asked while clenching her fists, "How are we sure it will not run rampant in our lands?"
"My daughter is right," Zeus nodded, "I cannot risk an immortal beast wreaking havoc in my lands, especially when it can rival our power." It was almost like creating another Typhoon in their world.
"The Kyuubi is locked under seals that no mortal can break, and even many immortals as well," Amaterasu answered, "We specialize in sealing within our realm, and I even personally ensured it will not come out unless Naruto wills it."
"Why not do what she asked, brother?"
Suddenly, each Olympian turned to see Hestia appear with a motherly smile on her face. She was off to the side by the hearth of Olympus.
She did not have a throne, but nobody ever refused her entrance to any meeting. It was almost like she was the glue of Olympus.
Nobody knew if she was hiding this entire time, or just appeared.
"Sister," Zeus leaned back on his throne, "I did not expect your arrival, nor did I expect you to hear as much as you did."
Ignoring his words, Hestia continued, "I agree with Lady Amaterasu, why not raise the boy? He can prove loyal to us, to you, and defend our realm with vigor if we allow it to happen. He has not committed any sins yet, and you are treating him like he is a monster waiting to pounce."
Amaterasu mentally thanked her fellow goddess, appreciating the honorific added to her name. It was a courtesy given she was technically in enemy territory at the moment.
Poseidon, throwing his hat in the ring, also commented, "She has a point brother, why not allow the boy to live and prove his loyalty?" Let it be known that the sea god had a soft spot for children, probably due to the fact he had fathered many in recent decades.
Zeus, seeing that more Olympians were slowly in favor of allowing the child to live, hummed in thought. Hera looked over to her husband as she awaited his decision.
However, it seemed one god was getting tired of this constant back and forth.
"What if we just went to war with them?" Ares nearly licked his lips out of blood lust, "I'm sure we would win."
Surprisingly, it was Athena, not Amaterasu, to answer this question.
"It wouldn't be logical," the goddess spoke with a shake of her head, "Even if we won, the other pantheons could use our weakened state to attack us as well. Also, if we were able to wipe the Shintos, a power vacuum would occur which could cause unforeseeable consequences."
"She's right," Apollo nodded, "The Egyptians, Norse, or even other pantheons would swoop in to fill the hole left behind. It could even cause more fighting that could tear the world apart if it got too critical."
Almost everybody in the room widened their eyes as hearing Apollo's explanation.
"What?" the sun god asked, perplexed, "Was it something I said?"
"No," answered Artemis with a shake of her head, "It's just that we're not used to hearing you… think critically."
Apollo looked at his sister with a mock-hurt look on his face, "C'mon! I'm not that dumb!"
Zeus allowed a loud rumble of lighting to silence the twins, causing their mini-argument to cease. He stared into the eyes of Amaterasu. The sun goddess didn't back down, staring back with full intensity.
After a few moments of this eye contact, Zeus spoke out, "I shall allow Artemis to decide if this offer of generosity is welcomed. If she refuses, we will have to accept an alternate form of forgiveness or we will go to war."
The Hall of Gods went silent as everybody stared at Artemis, waiting for her answer.
As for the goddess, she stared at Naruto's sleeping form. She couldn't help but realize that this child was already dooming his homeland to death by being taken away. He was their Child of Prophecy, and clearly, this was a big token being given by the Shinto pantheon.
Despite her "man-hating" reputation, Artemis was reasonable in her actions. She saw no reason to allow this child to die for the sins of another person who had no relation to him. He was already being punished in his way by being taken out of his world.
It may have also been her domain over childbirth, but Artemis held a soft spot for infants, no matter their gender. She could tell the baby had only been born hours earlier and was already being forced into a new world.
Taking a few moments to think, Artemis eventually gave her answer, "I accept."
This gained a smile out of Hestia while Ares looked annoyed that they wouldn't be going to war after all.
Zeus nodded at hearing his daughter's decision, "Very well, we will accept the infant into our land."
Amaterasu nodded, "Thank you, I only ask he be allowed to keep his name. It was one of the few things he received from his deceased parents."
"His name is too foreign," Zeus shook his head, "It will have to be chang-"
"It's okay, father," Artemis interjected, "It causes no harm to anybody." She didn't want to take away such a privilege from recent parents.
Taking a deep breath, Zeus nodded once more. It seemed he also had a soft spot for his daughters.
"I can take care of him for now until I find him a home," Hestia offered.
It seemed everyone agreed with that deal. Hera then whispered something into Zeus' ear, which made him blink a few times. After a few hushed whispers back and forth, Zeus seemed to make up his mind.
Standing up, Zeus announced, "Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze is now officially a part of our realm. He shall be raised until he is sent to Camp Half-Blood at an acceptable age. This will help him form bonds to tie him down to our realm, as well as learn our customs. Hestia will be in charge of his health until he has found a permanent home. This meeting is adjourned."
With a flash of lighting and the sound of thunder, Zeus disappeared.
"Great," Dionysus grumbled, "Another brat to take care of in the future."
One by one, each Olympian slowly left the second person to leave was Hera, followed by Hephaestus, followed by Aphrodite until each Olympian was gone.
The only people left in the room were Amaterasu and Hestia.
Walking up to the fellow goddess, Hestia smiled, "He is a beautiful baby."
The sun goddess nodded, "He is."
Both women stared down at the sleeping infant, enamored with his form. Eventually, Amaterasu let go and allowed Hestia to take hold of him.
"Please…" Amaterasu whispered, "…Take care of him…"
"We will," Hestia nodded with confident eyes, "I will."
Nodding her thanks, the sun goddess was off in a flash. This left only Hestia with a sleeping baby in her arms.
"I have just the place for you, little one," Hestia spoke kindly. With the small flash of flames and the smell of freshly baked cookies, Hestia also left the Hall of Gods.
She had a certain someone in mind.
Eight Years Later – In a Small Beach House in Hawaii
"Granny Rhea! Granny Rhea!" shouted an excited eight-year-old blonde, "C'mon! We're going to miss it!"
Chuckling, the Titan of Fertility tried to follow behind the amused child, "Slow down honey, we're almost there."
They were currently on their way to see the meteor shower in the sky. Naruto always had an interest in space, and he loved looking out into the stars at night.
It had been a wonderful eight years so far for the energetic child. He was loved, cared for, and raised by his grandma Rhea. Of course, he didn't know she wasn't actually his grandma just yet.
After leaving the Hall of the Gods, Hestia visited her mother who was living on an island at the time. She explained the situation at hand and presented Naruto to her. Given that she was also the Titan of Motherhood, Rhea accepted almost instantly.
After the Titan war, many of those who opposed the gods were punished eternally. However, Rhea was a special case as she was virtually untouched after the war ended. Given that she helped Zeus rise against his father and was also the mother of most of the Twelve Olympians, many considered her as a loving individual who posed no threat to Olympus.
However, it took some time before Zeus came around to accepting this idea. He was nervous that his mother would be raising a child with the potential to topple his empire, but he had to remind himself that Naruto should be raised in a loving environment to stay loyal to Olympus.
As time went on, Naruto was told that Rhea was his grandmother while Hestia was his aunt. He had come to love both women regardless of their relation to him.
Whenever he asked about his parents, Rhea would always stroke his hair and promise they would explain it to him whenever he was older. The only thing he was told was that they loved him very much.
He was even allowed to play with Rhea's pet lions, who absolutely adored the blonde bundle of joy. It took a while before they could play together, but Rhea ensured nothing happened to the child while she was supervising.
As for Rhea, she felt like a mother once more. Despite not having the title, she bathed, clothed, and loved the child like he was her own. In her opinion, Naruto reminded her a lot of when Zeus was still young.
He was an absolute joy to be around and constantly brought smiles to the faces of others. After being handed Naruto, Rhea decided to live in a small house along the coastline of Hawaii. She loved the atmosphere there, plus, she could allow Naruto to be raised around nature.
Her dark black hair usually flowed down her shoulders and her green eyes always held love for the small child in her care. She was told of the massive beast being sealed within the child, but she didn't care. She was sure that if it ever came down to it, she could handle it herself. She was still a Titan after all.
"But granny," Naruto whined, "We missed it last time, I don't want to miss it again!"
Rhea smiled, "That only happened because you stayed up the previous night playing that new game I got you and slept in the following day," she reminded him while being dragged along by her 'grandson.'
Naruto gained a blush of embarrassment on his cheeks at the memory, "Okay… but I don't want to miss this one!"
Soon enough, the duo found an acceptable spot for the blonde and laid down together in the grass. They watched as many meteors soared through the sky, blitzing in balls of fire.
"Wow…." Naruto spoke out in child-like wonder, "… it's so pretty!…"
Rhea giggled at his excitement. She also looked into the night sky and watched as the meteor shower continued, amazing the child next to her.
"I wonder if Aether conducts this light show for his amusement as well…" Rhea thought while staring up.
As the two lay together, enjoying the meteor shower, Rhea looked over at the blonde. He had both hands behind his head with a gaping mouth, obviously amazed at the sight. His fascination with space always amused her.
She had come to love Naruto ever since he was a baby. Seeing his growth made her smile sadly, knowing that one day she would have to send him off to Camp Half-Blood as decreed by Zeus many years ago. Despite her sway with her son, he was still King of Olympus and his word was law.
Until that time, however, she would enjoy every second she would get with him.
It did sadden her heart knowing that he grew far too fast for her liking. Eight years was nothing to her, barely a blink of an eye. However, that was because she was an immortal who had lived for eons. Naruto, however, did not have that same luxury.
"He's so… precious…" the Titan mother thought while gazing at the child. He was truly a gem in her life.
However, despite wanting to coddle him forever, Rhea knew she needed to train him in some form of combat soon enough. Despite every maternal instinct in her body screaming at her to protect him from the world, he had to eventually leave for Camp Half-Blood. If he was going out into the world, she wanted him to be prepared.
She had asked Hestia if she could contact Amaterasu on how to train him in 'chakra' as she had no idea how it worked. Both goddesses had become somewhat of courtesy friends in recent times, so it was best if Hestia asked.
Amaterasu did occasionally stop by as he was her champion, but never for long. She always stayed out of sight of the child but always held a caring gaze. It was clear she felt personal guilt for offering him like a toy to a life he never asked for. However, she was thankful he was living a good life so far.
Plus, the whisker marks on his cheeks always brought a smile to her face. They were too adorable in her opinion.
As Rhea gazed upon the amazed blonde, she started to notice a small, nearly unnoticeable, trace of power leaking out. Concentrating her eyes on the source, Rhea was surprised to see something that struck her as… odd.
In the tall grass they lay in, small flowers began to bloom. They were scarce, with there only being about four, but they sprouted up slowly. Each time Naruto made a noise of amazement, they seemed to garner a boost in growth.
They stopped growing after a few seconds as they fully bloomed, but Rhea took notice of this regardless.
"Interesting… was he granted a blessing I wasn't aware of?" she wondered. She wouldn't even consider that he was given a blessing by… Gaea… as that would certainly set off alarm bells in Zeus's head.
However, she also didn't feel her mother's power within the boy, so it couldn't have been her. This was something completely different… but she didn't know what it was.
Deciding to dwell on it later, Rhea instead took this time to enjoy it with her grandson. They viewed the meteor shower for the next hour until she decided it was time for bed.
Later that Night – Rhea's House
Rhea sat on a wooden chair while drinking a mug of hot coffee. She was leaning forward on her marble kitchen table as she awaited the arrival of Hestia.
It was already late at night and Naruto had been put to sleep long ago.
Before Hestia returned, Rhea sent an Iris message asking Hestia to return with Amaterasu instead. She hoped the goddess accepted this term.
As she took another sip of coffee and looked at this week's magazine regarding nature, two flashes of fire appeared.
Looking up, she saw the smiling face of Hestia and the warm eyes of Amaterasu.
"Welcome ladies," Rhea stated while setting the magazine down, "Please, sit and let me offer some refreshments."
Hestia ended up taking a hot chocolate while Amaterasu simply asked for a cup of tea. After both parties received their drinks, they sat around Rhea's kitchen table.
"Now I asked Hestia to bring you, Lady Amaterasu," Rhea began, "Because I would like to understand how Naruto's power works. I wish to train him, or at least prepare him for Camp Half-Blood as well as any monsters that chase after him."
While Naruto normally wouldn't have a scent for any monsters given he was not a demigod, he had been given Rhea's blessing a while back. It took some convincing once more for Zeus to be okay with it, but it happened.
It was quite rare for a Titan of all people to give their blessing to a mortal, but Rhea had given it to Naruto regardless. She wanted to protect him in any way she could. It also seemed that her blessing increased Naruto's incentive to protect those close to him.
However, it was even rarer for a mortal to receive two blessings, much less from different gods. Naruto was already proving to be a unique individual even before he was introduced to the real world.
"Chakra," Amaterasu said while sipping her tea, "It's called chakra, that's his power."
"Chakra," Rhea nodded.
The woman then spent the next few hours speaking about how Naruto's chakra worked. How it flowed inside his body, and how it could be conjured up.
It was surprising for Rhea to hear the possibilities the power contained. I mean, who could launch meteors and summon the dead as a mortal? It was practically unheard of in their world!
Even Hestia was surprised at the in-depth explanation, not expecting the near-limitless potential of the energy source.
However, Rhea focused when she found out that Naruto could die of Chakra exhaustion if he used too much at once, which worried her. Amaterasu said it would be best to avoid this by helping increase his Chakra pool and control.
After summoning a scroll containing some beginner, moderate, and expert techniques, Amaterasu handed the parchment over to Rhea.
"These are the hand signs needed for the… what was the word again…" Rhea pondered while examining the scroll, "… 'Jutsu' I believe?…"
It was a foreign concept to her, but it didn't matter. She would help her grandson no matter the condition.
She learned about chakra affinities, kekkei genkai, and other concepts relating to the blonde child. She made sure to memorize everything she was being told, as it would be critical to Naruto's growth.
Placing the scroll to the side for now, Rhea asked a question, "Does Naruto have any Kekkei Genkai?"
Hestia also nodded, curious to know as well.
Amaterasu shook her head, "To my knowledge, he shouldn't have any."
"Does he have his chakra unlocked already?" Rhea asked with her arms crossed.
"He does," Amaterasu nodded, "I unlocked it for him when he was an infant. The earlier they can unlock it, the better it is for the individual. Eventually, once they reach a certain age, it is nearly impossible to unlock their chakra if they haven't already."
Deciding to let the cat out of the bag, Rhea sighed, "I see. Well, I think you should both know that I believe Naruto may have something similar to what you called, Mokuton, or wood release."
"How so?" Amaterasu asked instantly, "We've never seen it replicated outside of Hashirama Senju, it should be impossible."
Rhea shrugged, "I'm not sure, I'm still new to all this. However, I saw some flowers bloom alongside him earlier today while we were lying in some grass. That's the only thing I could connect it to."
Amaterasu hummed in thought at the revelation, "Did my blessing affect him in more ways than I thought? Did I unknowingly grant him this ability?"
This was new territory for her as well, as she had never offered her blessing to any mortal in the Elemental Nations before.
"For now, we'll wait and see," Hestia interjected, "We can only wait and see if this evolves into something else, or fades away."
Rhea agreed with her daughter, "You're right, no use in worrying about it for now."
The three powerful deities then spent the rest of the night chatting about the possibilities of chakra, how it works, and the beast sealed inside her grandson. Rhea and Hestia both learned a lot more about the child in their care that night.
Seeing the sunrise in the distance, Rhea stretched her arms out, "I should get ready for breakfast, I plan on taking Naruto hiking today. He loves being in nature more than most kids his age."
"Can I help?" Hestia asked while also stretching.
"I would be a fool to turn down the offer," Rhea chuckled while picking up the cups of all three, planning to wash them.
Taking her leave as well, Amaterasu flashed away to her domain. She still had a pantheon to run, she could only leave a clone behind for so long before people noticed.
Five Years Later – New Jersey (Rhea's Home)
Rhea looked over the thirteen-year-old child before her with worried eyes. Making sure he was packed with everything he needed once more, she sighed. It was finally happening, her sweet child was leaving the nest.
These past five years had been eventful for the duo, as Hestia had been more involved in the blonde's life. She frequently stopped by, claiming her duties were not as severe lately. Even when she was needed, such as to attend to the hearth, she split her consciousnesses so her copy could be with Naruto.
They had moved to New Jersey a few years back, with Rhea claiming that it was so she could introduce Naruto to new cultures around the United States. However, it was really because Camp Half-Blood was located on Long Island and the trip by foot wouldn't be too far for the blonde once he set off.
After receiving that scroll five years ago, Rhea set off to make a training plan for Naruto. Just like she helped train Zeus many eons ago, she did it once more for another child.
Amaterasu gave some advice, claiming that there was an academy for children Naruto's age back in the Elemental Nations. Once she had their usual schedule, Rhea decided it was best if she trained Naruto at somewhat the same pace as he would be back then.
It was an okay starting point for her, but she planned to break it soon enough. After all, she couldn't risk holding back his potential just because of her training plan. He would soon need all the help he could get in this wild world.
One of the more surprising things that happened, was when Hestia gave Naruto her blessing as well. This made the total number of goddesses that gave him some sort of influence, up to three.
With Hestia's blessing, Naruto was now able to speak to the goddess through any source of fire. These messages would relay to Hestia through her hearth, effectively allowing a source of communication between the two.
Zeus almost threw a fit when he heard this, however, he was eventually calmed down by his mother. However, he did place a ban on any more gods giving Naruto any blessings until he deemed fit.
In a way, Rhea was still spoiling the blonde. He had turned thirteen a few months back, yet she still kept him close. It was only due to Zeus's reminder that he needed to leave soon which prompted the blond's departure.
"Granny, I swear, I'm fine!" Naruto huffed out as Rhea kept searching over his body. He currently had a backpack strapped while holding a map in one hand and a compass in the other. They were both gifts given to him by his grandmother, claiming it would lead him to Camp Half-Blood.
"Hush you!" Rhea said back with no real maliciousness, "It's my job to worry!"
Naruto laughed only a kid with pure innocence could produce. Hearing this, Rhea's eyes softened as she realized he had to leave soon.
Placing her hands on his shoulders, she took a good look at her grandson. Over these years, he had grown exponentially.
She had a talk with him about his origins finally, about where he came from. She also broke the news that he was adopted as his parents passed shortly after his birth. Surprisingly, he took it rather well for a child.
In Naruto's own words, "I bet my parents were wonderful…but…I only need you and Aunt Hestia!"
It truly brought a weight off of Rhea's shoulders, as she was terrified Naruto would hate her for keeping him away from his homeland. However, it made sense, he had no true connection to his home world as he wasn't raised there.
It also made her love him even more, seeing as Naruto didn't care if he was adopted.
However, after speaking to him about his chakra and what it meant, Naruto also responded like a child. He spent the next few minutes gushing over the fact he could do what the cool superheroes in his comic books could do now.
Finally, she gave the final realization that their family were the Greek gods from Olympus. This did take Naruto aback, as he didn't know what that meant at first. After she smacked her forehead in realization, she spent the next few days catching him up on some of the Greek stories and history regarding their family.
Once again, in his mind, this was amazing to Naruto. His family was comprised of immortals who could control the world, what was not cool about that?
However, these are the thoughts of an eight-year-old child. As he aged five years, Naruto gained a slow sense of maturity.
After moving to New Jersey, Naruto began his training with his grandmother and aunt. Grandma Rhea was in charge of handling his hand-to-hand combat, ninjutsu, and any other chakra-related techniques.
Hestia was in charge of expanding Naruto's mind, helping his maturity grow as well. She often sat down with the child and read books to him, with Naruto doing the same. He learned to read, write, and examine ideas with his aunt.
They talked about everything whenever they read together, which was wonderful for the child. He loved spending time with his aunt. In Naruto's personal opinion, he enjoyed practicing his Taijutsu and Ninjutsu. They were both the most fun in his opinion.
Once he had learned the Kage Bunshin technique from his Grandmother who showed him the hand signs and explained how to direct his chakra, he came to a realization. Whenever his clone popped, he would retain their memories.
It was jarring at first, given that it was a new experience, but it was a phenomenal time-saver. He often made many of his clones concentrate on having a leaf attach to his head through chakra control, which is how he was able to learn the water-walking technique much faster than kids his age!
After finding out about this perk, Hestia made Naruto produce clones to read many books at the same time to catch him up on Greek mythology as well as learning new fighting strategies should he need them. He also learned things such as world history, examining literature, and survival tips. However, she realized he had a limit of only dispelling about four clones at once at the current moment.
She found this out when she told him to dispel six clones that were all reading different topics, and the mental strain nearly made Naruto pass out. She received a good verbal chewing from Rhea after that.
Rhea had also introduced him to the concept of manipulating the elements with his chakra affinities, however, she often stressed the importance of being careful with it. If Naruto intruded on another deity's domain and they took offense, it could cause trouble for him.
He was able to learn a few wind and fire Jutsus as he advanced through his ninjutsu. However, for now, he often stuck to his fire Jutsu given that he had Hestia's blessing and she was often in control of fire.
Now one of the biggest surprising things for them all, was when Naruto practiced fire Jutsu for the first time. When spitting out his fireball, the flames were dark black in color and radiated nearly triple the amount of heat that regular flames produce.
He also couldn't be burned by his flames or any others. They assumed if anything could theoretically burn him, it would have to be hotter than the flames of Amaterasu.
It was then found out that Amaterasu's blessing did have some effect after all.
As for his nature-related abilities, he never noticed any flowers growing around him. However, Rhea and Hestia often saw flowers grow, bloom, or do both when Naruto was around. It happened very rarely and was inconsistent, but it was there. They were slowly trying to track down what it was.
Naruto was also told how he had the blessing of a different goddess, Amaterasu. However, he promised his grandmother and aunt that he would NOT reveal this information to other demigods. Apparently, it was incredibly important that others do not know about the existence of other pantheons outside their own.
Looking over at the child, Rhea smiled. He was starting to show very faint streaks of red in his hair, something he inherited from his mother. His blonde hair was still the most prominent feature, but she could tell some red would shine through in the coming years.
Naruto appreciated it, as it helped remind him of his birth mother whom Rhea often brought up. It seemed Rhea stressed the fact that his biological mother was a compassionate woman, never speaking badly about her. He assumed it was because she was the Titan of Motherhood as well, and she could appreciate a loving mother.
Rhea then spoke to the child with a careful tone, "Now remember, don't open the scroll in your backpack until you arrive to camp. Also, make sure you-"
"-don't reveal the existence of other pantheons. I will also drink lots of water, find shelter when necessary on my trip, and keep my compass close to me. I will follow the map and use the stars if I get lost." Naruto finished with a smile.
Rhea bonked him on the nose and he giggled too, "Okay smarty-pants, I get it. You remember after all."
Hearing a faint purr behind her, Rhea turned around to see two of her beloved lions approach. They walked up before they licked Naruto's hands. In return, Naruto scratched them both atop their heads, which they enjoyed.
"He's really growing up now…" Rhea nearly teared up, "…and now I can't protect him… not truly…"
She hoped the training she did would allow for him to grow. Hestia helped Naruto grow in terms of book smarts and in rational thinking, but that would only get him so far. He needed life experience, and combat experience if he was going to survive in this world. And he wasn't going to get that by constantly being protected by her.
Seeing that his grandmother may cry, Naruto hugged her tight. Even the two lions joined, as they wrapped themselves around the legs of both individuals.
"Hey Granny, don't cry," Naruto whispered into her chest as he squeezed her, "I'll be alright out there, trust me."
"I know…." Rhea responded, letting the tears fall at this point, "I'm just scared is all, it's what mothers do…"
Looking up into Rhea's green eyes, Naruto smiled, "Well I always thought of you as a mother, so I guess that makes sense."
These simple words nearly made the Titan break down even more. She was getting too attached, but how could she not? He was practically her son for his entire life. She had raised him, with Hestia's help of course.
The reason she made Naruto call her "grandma" in the first place, was to not lie to him. She didn't want him to think she was his mother when his real mother loved him just as much. Yet, hearing those words, made her incredibly proud to be given the honor of his mother.
Thinking about his words, Rhea simply caressed Naruto's spiky hair with a tearful smile. He would be leaving soon, so she would take this moment to hold him one moment longer.
A Few Days Later – With Naruto
After separating from his home days earlier, Naruto set off on his journey. He knew given that he had the blessings of two Greek goddesses, he would be targeted by monsters if he strayed too far off. Given this, he stayed on constant alert as he traveled to Camp Half-Blood.
He didn't know how strong of a 'scent' he produced given he was not a demigod, but he stayed on his toes regardless. It wouldn't be smart to let his guard down in the wilderness. While his grandmother did give him money to stay at hotels along the way, Naruto secretly slept in the woods.
It's not that he didn't appreciate the gesture, but he knew that at some point, she wouldn't be able to protect him. He needed to learn how to survive on his own and defend himself should he need to.
Naruto wasn't completely naive, he knew the world was cruel. He knew that there were rapists, murderers, and other horrible people out there in the world. Life wasn't as easy-going as it was at home.
He needed to be ready for anything that was thrown his way, despite the fact he was only thirteen.
As he set up a campfire for the night, Naruto looked at the stars above. Space always fascinated him as a child, and it still did. The countless possibilities beyond the horizon made his mind race with fantasies. He may never know what's out there, but a boy could dream.
As he lay there, Naruto allowed his mind to wander. He often wondered how it would feel to have friends his age, given his whole life was surrounded around older women.
Looking down at his stomach, Naruto patted it a few times. "The Kyuubi… huh…" he thought. Granny Rhea had told him what was sealed inside him, and that it was a fierce power that could be used to his benefit one day.
However, before he could even attempt to learn how to control it, it was agreed that he should wait until he could get a better grasp of his chakra in general. This side of his power was still new to him, as he learned all he could about chakra while Rhea was teaching him.
Grinning while looking at the sky, Naruto could only think, "I'm sure me and the fox will be friends one day!"
As Naruto made his way through the woods he walked through, he came upon a sight that made him smile. There, in the distance, was a sign that read "CAMP HALF BLOOD" upon a marble entrance. Knowing he had finally found the right place, he put away his compass and map.
Walking over, he seemingly passed into the camp with no issue. As he walked further and further into the camp, he noticed there were many kids his age. Some boys and girls walked around, some talkative, others keeping to themselves.
There were even kids younger than him, while a majority seemed to be his age or older.
As he walked in, he was greeted by a man who looked to be a centaur.
"Greetings young one!" shouted the man with a smile, "I'm assuming you know where you are?"
Naruto gained a confused expression before it clicked in his mind. The centaur was referring to the fact that this camp was shrouded in the Mist, which kept it hidden from normal eyes. He was "clear-sighted" as Grandma Rhea put it, so he was lucky in that regard he supposed.
"Yeah, sorry," Naruto rubbed the back of his head, "I didn't know if I was supposed to speak to someone. I just kinda walked in…"
The centaur laughed, "No worries, allow me to show you around. I was actually on my way to help another camper who just joined us yesterday."
As the centaur walked, Naruto kept pace. He was told where each facility of the camp was located and how it operated. The strawberry field, training courtyard, and everything else was told to him.
"Do you know your godly parent yet?" asked the centaur while looking over as they walked.
Not knowing what he should say, Naruto instead decided to shake his head, "Not yet."
"No worries," the man responded with a warm smile, "Most campers who join don't get claimed until they arrive. I'm sure you will be claimed soon enough."
"Thank you," Naruto nodded with a smile.
"Oh my, how could I forget my manners," the man said to himself, "Allow me to introduce myself, I am Chiron, the instructor here at Camp Half-Blood."
"Nice to meet you Chiron," Naruto responded with a grin, "I'm Naruto Uzumaki."
It only took a few seconds before Naruto remembered where he heard that name. It looked like all the time reading with Aunt Hestia was finally paying off.
Snapping his fingers in recognition, Naruto spoke out, "You're the same Chiron that mentored Heracles, right?"
"Yes…" Chiron gained a sad look in his eyes, "Yes I am."
Before they could speak any further, both individuals heard a commotion. Looking over, they witnessed the bathroom area burst with water spurting out in waves. It seemed the pipes were combusted and water leaked all over the campgrounds.
Sprinting over, Chiron went over to assess the situation. Deciding to follow the instructor, Naruto also walked over at a slower pace. Eventually, they witnessed three individuals walk out. It was two girls and one boy.
One of the girls seemed to have gray eyes and blonde hair in a braid, which only showed her fair complexion. She had an annoyed look on her face, clearly due to the water dripping off her clothes at the moment.
As for the other girl, Naruto had a slight blush at seeing her. She had dark brown curly hair that traveled to her shoulders. Her brown eyes showed a ferocity that held experience behind them. Her bronze-skinned complexion also attracted him to her. He had never really felt these types of feelings before, so it was all new to him.
However, it looked like this girl received the full brunt of the water attack. While the blonde-haired girl was slightly wet, this girl was soaked from head to toe in water.
Finally, the boy seemed to be the odd one out as he was dry as a bone. He had dark black hair, sea-green eyes, and a white complexion.
"Percy, Annabeth, Clarisse, what's the meaning of this!" shouted out an irate Chiron.
"Sorry Chiron," spoke the blonde girl first with a genuine expression of remorse, "The pipes burst on us while we were in there, right Clarisse?"
Looking over to the other girl, Clarisse appeared to mumble something under her breath before walking off. It was barely audible to Naruto, but Chiron seemed to hear it.
"Very well," Chiron said, "I'll have it fixed, please prepare yourself for dinner tonight. Also, please welcome our new camper, Naruto Uzumaki. He just joined us today, I'll allow you all to get introduced." With a soft stomp of his hooves, Chiron was off, probably to get these water pipes fixed.
Not wanting the atmosphere to be awkward, Naruto stuck his hand out right away, "Nice to meet you both, like Chiron said, my name's Naruto!"
The other boy was the first to reciprocate the handshake, "Nice to meet ya, I'm Percy! Percy Jackson!"
As for the girl, she examined Naruto before finally extending her hand. Giving it a light shake, she said, "I'm Annabeth Chase, nice to meet you."
Feeling like he was making some new friends, Naruto spoke out, "I hope I'm not intruding, but what happened in there?" Pointing over to the leaking bathroom, Naruto chuckled, "Because that was pretty cool!"
This instantly made Percy smile and he answered, "You saw that?"
Naruto nodded with a grin. This earned him a high five from the guy.
"Finally, someone appreciates it!" Percy said with a grin, looking over to Annabeth who had her arms crossed, he said, "She's just been on my case about the whole thing!"
"Because I'm the one wet! Not you!" Annabeth said in frustration while throwing her arms up in the air.
Both individuals then went back and forth for a while, making Naruto laugh. He could see that being here would be a better time than he thought.
AND WE ARE DONE FOR THE FIRST CHAPTER!
I hope you all enjoyed this new story! If you're following my other stories, I have chapters planning to publish soon!
Let me know what you all think! I love reading reviews!
I have some big, BIG plans with this story. I'm talking about things that will be incredible later down the road.
Now normally, it is rare for a Genin to know any elemental Jutsus, especially knowing more than one. However, Naruto has two different fire goddess blessings, which helps in that aspect.
Furthermore, he has a natural affinity for wind, which I decided to keep for this story. Given this, he would have constant help from Rhea to learn this. Having teachers that are patient, helpful, and supportive, would make a huge difference in Naruto's training.
The other techniques are the typical Academy/Genin abilities taught in the Elemental Nations. Besides, we have child prodigies like Itachi, Kakashi, and Shisui that are LEAGUES beyond this skill set in Naruto as well, so we know a child can learn so much, so quickly.
If you're worried about Naruto being OP… good….
But seriously, don't dwell on it as I have a different path for him to take in this series. I have a LOT planned for his character development.
Also, Naruto will be the main character in this story. That's not to say Percy won't have any influence he'll play a big role after all. But this story will revolve around Naruto mainly, so if that's not your cup of tea, I apologize since Percy won't play as big a role.
Also, there will be love plots in this story. They won't take away from the theme of the story but instead add to the plot/character development of Naruto.
Until next time, cheers!
