Bucky was in shock over what he saw. Carol Danvers, the person who trained him and helped learn about today's world. Carol was also the one who told him that Steve Rogers was the one who fought to protect Earth the likes of Spider-man and the rest of his team, who were corrupt and evil. Now he sees her killing Nebula.
"Carol...you killed her..." said Bucky.
"She was working with Kang and Hydra. They would've killed you if given the chance." said Captain Marvel.
"But that's not what we are supposed to do! She was defenseless, and had no trial! You told me that you had honor!" He was getting ready to fight Captain Marvel, until he was stopped by Deadpool, who recovered from his fight.
"About time you wised up." He walks ahead of Bucky. "She doesn't fight with honor. She never did." Carol turns to Deadpool.
"Let me save a few years in psychotherapy. You're a tick. A bloodsucking mercenary with no heart, a flair for chaos, and motivated by money." Deadpool just looks at her, no funny puns or quips.
"I used to be all of that. But unlike you, I never killed a kid!"
Fight 1: Deadpool vs. Captain Marvel.
Without warning, Captain Marvel charges forward, fists blazing with cosmic power. Deadpool effortlessly dodges her barrage, somersaulting out of harm's way. Deadpool unsheathes his katanas, slashing at Captain Marvel with lightning speed. She falls down slowly which gave him an opening to attack her by planting a bomb on her chest, the explosion causes her to get knocked back. Captain Marvel fired multiple energy blasts, Deadpool teleported out of the way and appeared behind her and kicked her and fired a few rounds from his handguns. He unleashed a barrage of absurd weapons, from explosive rubber chickens to banana peels, each one catching Captain Marvel off guard. Captain Marvel pushed Deadpool back and the two clashed.
"You're looking a bit serious, Carol. Need a hug?" asked Deadpool.
"Not from you." Deadpool pushes her back and whacks her with a pair of rubber chickens and knocks her back. As she gets up Deadpool dashes forward and does a leaping uppercut and shouts, "Sure you can!" knocking her out.
"Cosmic power my scarred ass." Deadpool walks over to Bucky helping up. Before he could say anything, he moves Bucky aside as he saw Captain Marvel fire a giant energy beam that goes right through him.
"CAROL WHAT DID YOU DO!?" Captain Marvel didn't hear Bucky and was charging at Deadpool knowing he survived the attack. Bucky wasn't going to let her make things worse and used his metallic arm to punch her out. He then picks up Deadpool and rushes over to his motorbike.
"I'll get you some help. I'm sure Steve will get you treatment." said Bucky as he drove off.
"You taking me to Cap? You're better off leaving me on the streets like a used pair of shoes." said Deadpool as he slowly recovered. They finally reached one of the many hidden bunkers set up by Peter. There was Captain America with Kaine and Doom retrieving his shield and the other two researching.
"You two find anything?" asked Captain America.
"Nothing." said Kaine, "There's no information on Kang, it's as if he never existed."
"Hmmm, there has to be something." said Captain America, "Brute force isn't enough."
"Rogers." said Doom. "If we are done here I must return to Latveria. I will need to prepare for resources and increase the defenses." Steve looks at Doom with a perplexed look. Not about the thought that Doom would abandon everyone, but how Latveria wasn't attacked. It wasn't a large country, but even Captain America recognized how powerful Latveria was.
"Kang hasn't attacked Latveria yet?" asked Captain America.
"I placed a powerful spell to shield Latveria and keep it hidden. It won't be long though." Before they can continue Bucky bursts in while carrying Deadpool.
"Steve we need to talk now!" He puts Deadpool nearby to recover as he approaches Captain America. He silently nods to Kaine and Doom to let them know they are dismissed.
"Everything okay Bucky?" asked Captain America.
"It's Carol. She killed Nebula and almost killed Deadpool. I've never seen her so cold-blooded." said Bucky.
"I see. That's unfortunate." Captain America looked and sounded disappointed over what had happened.
"I know. What was she thinking? We can't be fighting each other right now."
"It's unfortunate that Carol decided to deal with Wade now instead of later." Captain America started to look more angry at Bucky, "But it's more unfortunate that you got in the way!"
"What? You don't mean that."
"Deadpool is a mercenary. He will kill anyone for the right price. It won't be long until he will kill innocent people."
"Innocent people are dying now Steve." Bucky said in disbelief. "He was helping people!" Captain America was now starting to get frustrated with Bucky. If he only the knew what happened, he thought.
"Bucky you're being naive. Deadpool is a criminal, a criminal I'll be dealing with later." He starts to walkaway, but Bucky couldn't let that happen. This wasn't the same Captain America he fought with many years ago, the same skinny kid who he had to protect from bullies.
"Steve. Carol told me Green Goblin was executed...it was you wasn't it?" Captain America took a deep breath and turned to him.
"I took one life to save millions." Bucky was shocked by this and rushed over to confront his best friend.
"But that's how it starts. It wasn't just one life was it? How many did you take?"
"It's not that simple Bucky. The world was safer with me in charge. No crime, no war, and no deaths. I'm not proud of what happened, but it had to be done Bucky. Listen we were at war, and people die in war. I didn't want to do it, but I had no choice." Bucky was still unsure about all of this. Maybe this was a war, and he is right people die in war. He also couldn't deny that the world was safer with Steve in charge. But this was still wrong, but he was so unsure about everything. It was at this moment Deadpool fully recovered. He didn't like what was happening and threw a flashbang at Captain America's feet. He looks over at Deadpool and sees him sticking a middle finger at him
"Boom baby!" the flashbang goes and Deadpool took the opportunity to take Bucky by the arm and teleport away. "Okay Robo arm of doom. It doesn't look like you drank the kool aid so we're getting out of here." The two of them made their escape and both ran into Doom and Kaine. They separate to fight one on one, Bucky challenged Kaine as Doom fought Deadpool.
"You will submit Wade Wilson." said Doom as he fired a couple of missiles at him. Deadpool effortlessly.
"Really missiles? come on. For an evil dictator, you lack pure imagination."
Fight 2: Deadpool vs Doctor Doom
Deadpool charges forward with reckless abandon, wielding his katanas with deadly precision. Doctor Doom retaliates with blasts of mystic energy, each strike shaking the ground beneath them. Deadpool somersaults through the air, narrowly avoiding Doctor Doom's attacks. He hurls grenades and unleashes a barrage of gunfire, forcing Doctor Doom to summon his mystical shield to protect himself. Doctor Doom counters with a devastating blast of energy, sending Deadpool crashing to the ground. But Deadpool quickly regains his footing, and pulls out an assault rifle and fires a few rounds. Doom pushes Deadpool back and both clash.
"I will crush you like the insignificant insect you are." said Doctor Doom
"Do I look like Ant-man to you?" replied Deadpool. Deadpool pushed him back and whacked him across the face with a rubber chicken. As Doom gets back up, Deadpool uses a nearby gas canister to leap over Doom and grabs hold of him. He plants a bomb on his chest and attaches a whoopee cushion on his butt. The bomb goes off and he lands on his butt and the cushion makes a fart noise, Doom the gets knocked out.
"Looks like you got a PHD in sucking." Bucky comes flying through, getting beaten by Kaine. Kaine walks in and confronts Wade.
"End of the road clown."
"Let me give you some advice. Clowns make 80,000 a year. And here you are doing it FOR FREE!"
Fight 3: Deadpool vs Kaine
Deadpool fires multiple rounds from his handguns hitting Kaine. Then he takes out his katanas and spins around quickly and hits Kaine a few times. He plants a mine on the ground and dashes forward to Kaine. He hits him a few times with his fists and then delivers a powerful kick that sends him back a bit to where the mine was and the explosion sends him up in the air and towards Deadpool. He does a roundhouse kick that sends Kaine towards a giant screen. Kaine crashes into it and bounces off and back into the feet of Deadpool. As Kaine gets up, Deadpool slices through Kaine a few times and then Kaine interrupts the combo and pushes him back and collides.
"I'm tired of that mouth of yours." said Kaine
"You kidding? Everyone else loves it." said Deadpool. He pushes him back and whacks him with a rubber chicken. Just as Kaine got back up, Deadpool took a barrel and rolls it towards Kaine that knocked him off his feet and knocking him out.
"You're not even worth a quip." Deadpool heads over to Bucky and smacks him a bit. "This one's for not waking up much earlier." He smacks him again, "This one is for being friends with a crazy despot." He smacks him again, "This one is because the author ran out of reasons to slap you!" Bucky slowly woke up.
"Were you slapping me?" asked Bucky. Deadpool slapped him one more time.
"That one was to make sure you are not dreaming." said Deadpool, he goes for one more slap and was stopped by Bucky.
"I'm awake! I'm awake." The two of them slowly get back up, and got on Bucky's bike and escaped the bunker. As they drove Bucky had to ask him about what Captain America said about him. "Is it true? What Steve said about you, is it true?" asked Bucky. Deadpool took a deep breath.
"Listen, I don't do well with these kinds of talks. But, Captain Hydra isn't too wrong. I was a mercenary. Hell I was better then Wolverine and he's the best! But your favorite boytoy back there, he's nuts. He is literally working with a dictator who has attempted to conquer the world more times than there are words in this chapter. But, you haven't been touched by the devil yet. We need to get out of here." Bucky took all of that in. He couldn't believe Steve had fallen this much. He regretted not being here when Steve probably needed him the most. He couldn't turn back on his friend, not now.
"Steve...He just needs help. He's just doing what the best he can to." Deadpool pulled out his gun and pointed it at Bucky's forehead. He promised to not kill, but he was severely disappointed in him.
"Stop sounding like the partner who can't leave their toxic ass partner. I've dealt with enough of that in group therapies so I'm not going to stop you from leaving. But holy crap balls." A energy beam was then fired at the bike, Bucky and Deadpool crashed. Deadpool was the first to get up and saw Bishop slowly walking towards him.
"Wade Wilson. I'm going to enjoy sewing your mouth shut." said Bishop.
"Ah yes...you...how are you doing?" said Deadpool trying to hide his confusion.
"I'm...wait...do you not know who I am?"
"Ah yes of course I do...uhhh..."
"I'm the one from the future?"
"No no you're not Cable. I know who he is...you're the...Amazing M on his eye guy!" Bishop eyes start to glow.
"I'm gonna blow your head clean off."
Fight 4: Deadpool vs. Bishop
Bishop wasted little time and fired from his futuristic gun at Deadpool, hitting him on his chest. Then Bishop throws a grenade that electrocutes Deadpool, he gets stuck in place leaving him open for a free hit. Deadpool throws a grenade, while it does hurt him Bishop stores some energy. He then gets up and hits him with a charged up uppercut and then fires his futuristic gun in the air again. As Deadpool gets back up, Bishop uses the energy he stored up from earlier and fires a giant energy beam and sends Deadpool back. He then presses a button on his time armband and created an after image of himself. It was projecting a future image of himself and would attack Deadpool a few times. On top of that Bishop was attacking him as well. Bishop then does a small energy spark to blind Deadpool, just long enough for Bishop to charge up one giant energy blast and fires at Deadpool. Deadpool gets back up, pushes him back and the two collide.
"In my timeline you're long dead." said Bishop.
"You need to get laid." said Deadpool. Deadpool pushes him back and whacks him with a rubber chicken. Bishop gets back up, and Deadpool quickly takes out his katanas and twirls around hitting Bishop. Deadpool's healing factor goes into high gear and he is able to tank all of Bishop's attack. As he gets closer to Bishop, Deadpool starts to dance. Bishop had enough of him and punched Deadpool. However, he anticipated this, he blocked it and then uppercuts him. He whips out multiple guns and blasts Bishop away with it. Deadpool winks at a camera. Grabs hold of it and runs towards Bishop and smashes it over his face, knocking him out.
"You should go back to the future." Deadpool helps Bucky up. He was a little dazed but okay. He sees Bishop getting up and about to attack. Bucky quickly shoves Deadpool out of the way and fires multiple shots. It not only hit Bishop, it also hits his time armband and slowly fades out as he slowly dies. Deadpool sees this and shoves Bucky.
"What the hell was that!? What part of no killing did you not understand!?" shouted Deadpool.
"I didn't mean to" said a horrified Bucky. "I just wanted to help."
"Yeah well next time you want to help, DON'T!" Before he could say anything, Captain America arrives on his own motorbike ready to stop Deadpool.
"I'd think twice Wade." said Captain America. Spider-man buzzes in to interrupt the tension.
"Cap, are you ready? We need you right now!"
"Copy, Peter." The three wasted little time and joined others to fight off the Hydra. The Avengers fought off as many Hydra soldiers there as they got closer to Kang's tower. Thor throws Mjolnir at it and it just bounces right off. Captain Marvel flies towards the tower, but like Mjolnir she just bounces right off of the Tower and collides into a nearby building. A missile was fired and it was going towards Spider-man who was too preoccupied with all of the Hydra Soldiers. Captain America was able to arrive in time and block the attack with his mighty shield, and helped him take out the soldiers.
"Thanks." said Spider-man, "We will need a new plan of attack. Kang's tower is protect by a shield that creates concussive loop."
"So the harder we hit, the harder it hits back."
"Uh Pete." said Iron-man.
"What is it?"
"It's Brooklyn...it's gone..." Captain America hears this. He was reminded of what happened years ago. The anger, the sadness he felt that day came rushing back. He let out a loud roar and got on his bike. He charged right at the Tower.
"Steve don't!" Bucky's words didn't reach Captain America. As he gets closer the Tower fires an energy beam, and Steve seemingly vanishes. Bucky got on his bike and heads over and there was nothing left. His best friend, the man he always looked after and protected. Gone. He just sat down to grieve. Spider-man swings over to where Bucky was.
"I remember he stood up to a bunch of thugs when he was just a skinny kid. He never backed down, and did what he could to do what was right. He never stood a chance, but he still tried, and I was always there to protect him. Now he's gone...that's probably the best news you heard all day isn't it?"
"I'll miss him too..." said a solemn Spider-man, shocking Bucky. "Steve...he also believed in the good in everyone. He inspired everyone to do what was right, protected everyone, and saved the day. I trusted him with my life. But...when he needed me the most, I wasn't there to save him from Green Goblin. I lost my hero that day. And I've missed him ever since." This wasn't adding up to Bucky. Carol and Doom told him that Spider-man was a crazed maniac, who had no problem letting millions die. Yet, here he was mourning over the loss of Steve Rogers, he is a so-called enemy. He also noticed during the fight, instead of focusing on Hydra, he was busy focusing on saving the citizens. He wasn't fighting to kill, he was fighting to protect. A Quinjet floats over them and down came Vision, the X-men and Black Panther.
"What happened to Wakanda?" asked Spider-man.
"Gone..." said Black Panther, "I should've listened, and now we all die together."
"No we're not giving up. Anyone hear from the Young Avengers?"
"This is your fault Parker!" said Captain Marvel as she floats in with Doom. "Steve and I would've crushed Kang if you had followed our lead!"
"Carol stop it! Earth is in danger, we need all the help we can get." said Bucky.
"Not his help!" Carol points at Peter.
"Such discord." Said Kang. "No wonder humanity has failed to expand beyond the stars at this timeline.
"Did you really just call just to gloat." said Wolverine.
"In 24 hours, the atmosphere will burn up and will render this planet barren. Paving the way for my kingdom to prosper." He disappears leaving the Avengers alone with their defeat.
