A Red cloaked figure was talking with one of his companions who also wore the same outfit as him, while the man was chatting with his two colleagues he noticed that from the right corner of his eyes, a bird or in other words a black feather raven.
The bird went flying as it slowed down and entered through an opened window of the tower which was part of the building where he and his fellow men were standing close to it.
"Excuse me, my fellow mages, I must lend my importance to someone in need of my presence," Spoke the man.
"Please do not mind us ser Dresden, you don't have to keep yourself waiting," Responded the other cloak figure.
The man puts the palm of his right hand to where his heart is bows his head down in thanks and after that, he leaves for the entrance door.
Once inside the building, the man closed the door after himself and walked past two roles of tables filled with those who were sitting and eating as they were all enjoying the feast brought to them by servants.
As the man was watching the scene for the time being hoping that no one would stop him he moved striving toward a certain door that led up a few stairs that connected to the tall tower the one where his chamber was sitting.
Deciding that now was the chance to move forth the man sets off for the door, as he came close to it he brought his right arm up and twisted the knob to the right till he heard a click indicating that it was unlocked, after that he entered and closes the door after.
Coming closer to the steps the man tilted his head up to look up where there were a bunch of stairs that led up to his chamber.
The man then began up the stairs after he had snatched a nearby torch hanging from his left. After having to speed walk his way up and through multiple stairs he finally made it, to the front was the door to his chamber. Opening it the man entered and closed the door and pushed over an extra lock so that no one would disturb him.
The sound of a raven cawing causes the man to turn and face it, the man reaches up and pulls down his hood. The face revealed that of a middle-aged man who was in his mid-thirties. Both his eyes were dark blue and in the lower part of his right eye was the black cross tattooed on his face, it was in this less image that everyone like him that wore the red robe bared the same tattoo as a way of their loyalty to their belief.
"You do not have to keep yourself in the form of a bird, Hellen,"
After the man had spoken that last sentence the raven soon started raising both of its wings up and after that, its whole body was encircled by black smoke enveloping her whole till there was nothing to be seen. Seconds after that the smoke that surrounds the raven begins expanding up high enough and then a boofing sound transpires indicating the transformation is finished.
The man walked over to a small square table and grabbed two cups and a single large bottle After that he turned to face his new arrival revealing it to be a woman.
She was six feet tall and had long dark silky hair that reached down to her shoulder blades. The clothes had on was a black v-neck dress with a few slight differences, On both sides of her waist pocket height was strapped with two fourteen-inch daggers and a single bottle of green potion hanging on her right side.
"Must you be so too dramatic with presenting yourself when visiting me," Spoke the man.
Hellen smirked as she stepped forth with the sound of her shoes clicking against the ground, As she neared him, Hellen accepted a cup from the man and took a sip of her drink.
"With presenting myself I must always distract others, jol, well sometimes that is," Says Hellen with a smile as she took another sip of drink.
Jol poured her another drink from the bottle and set it on the table. "On that, I don't disagree with you, but aside from that, what's it that I've been hearing from the town of, what's it called again?"
"Oh what, did you already forget the name of the city? Or maybe perhaps your old age is catching up with you jol," Retorted hellen.
"Old age or not, it's just a number," replied Jol.
Hellen nodded her head in agreement and responded. "I agree, there are wizards and witches rumored to be more than a hundred years old,"
"That is if we can find them," added Jol.
Hellen smirks at that. "Funny you say that, I heard that a certain witch had decided to stop by the city of arenian,"
Jol halted in his steps and turned to face the woman. "You are not talking about her, are you? What made her of all people visit some lower cities like arenian, and out of all places, isn't that city's leader in a dispute with a neighboring kingdom?"
"From what I've heard the arenians are an ally of the empress, so I wouldn't worry too much, seeing as how the city's leader would send a message to the empress for aid, and I bet you that she would not hesitate to answer," Hellen said to him.
"Ah yes, I forgot about him, the great nightguard of the empress, the soon-to-be leader of the newly created city of course, he, the one who defeated an orc lord and its armies from invading the empress's birth home," Exclaim Jol in a jeering way.
"Well, I would not fault that old knight, for I have to give it to him, he had earned it in the last war for his outstanding valor," Added Hellen.
Jol let out a chuckle at that. "On that, I agree, and speaking of him, I've heard that he has held the sixteenth town fair festival in his city,"
"Ahhh, yes, and the city's fair, I think he created it as a way of morale for the arenian people, I must say, it was a pretty nice event when I once visited the city," Responded Hellen who then walked over to a nearby chair and took a seat.
Jol smiled at the statement as he took a chair of his own just seven feet away from Hellen and yawned for a moment. "Yes, yes, now let's be done with the chatting, let's go back to the main topic of why you are here Hellen,"
A snickering expression arose from Hellen's face as she rested both hands on the chair's armrest. "Why of course jol, ask away,"
"I've sent you a messenger pertaining about two certain individuals, two of them to be exact, and it has been a week before she'll return from her task. Tell me you don't happen to have anything to do with her, do you?" Says Jol giving the woman a questioning look.
"Yes, actually, it's a good thing you've mentioned that. The girl, Randa, and her father falka are safely returned without any harm except the daddy, and from what I've heard falka has quelled against four groups of assassins with only receiving immense injury from one of them, with of course until the daughter and her entourage slayed the remaining assassins," Hellen said reaching as she then reached inside her dress and pulled out a parchment paper tied in red three-inch silk.
Jol took the paper from her and before he could open it he gave Hellen a look of inquiry. "What is this?"
Hellen swapped one leg over to the other in a cross-manner and interlocked her fingers together. "Just open it,"
Jol's right brow raised at that. "And you did not want to open it yourself?"
Exaggeratedly sighing to herself Hellen just answered back. "Just open it jol, If I had wanted to see it myself I would've read it on my way here and told you myself,"
Slightly nodding her way Jol untied the red silk and unrolled the scroll so he could get a better look at what was on the parchment paper.
Seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into moments that some people would've mistaken as an hour. Hellen watched on as the many expressions of confusion and curiosity as well as of wonder came across Jol's face the longer he continued reading through the scroll.
Hellen grabbed the bottle and poured Jol a drink seeing how she could sense a feeling of pitfall plastering around the man when he sat back in his chair and set the parchment on the table near him.
Jol shot Hellen a look skeptical of why she wasn't as surprised as he was by this revelation that he happened to read on. Frankly by learning what had been going on from the message Jol couldn't understand why the black stars all of a sudden decided to show themselves after thirty years of covering any sign of their trace from the world.
And he wondered why they were searching for this stranger, one he hadn't heard of since he had walked on this world.
Jol stood up and went where a brown wooden cabinet and opened it. Inside it was a black ink pen with a single-eye drawn on the back of the pen's handle. Pressing on the eye a two-inch metal popped out after Jol had dipped the pen in his ink cup he began writing on a piece of parchment for a moment till about two minutes later he finished.
Hellen stood up from her seat and walked towards Jol who was putting away his ink pen and ink cup back into the cabinet. "Now may I ask what's gotten you to act disturbed all of a sudden?"
"Hellen you know of the black stars do you not," Jol said asking her a genuine question.
"Yes, I do, why do you ask that?" Answered hellen.
"Good, then you understand that people, well normal average everyday people of Vahrian do not know of the black star's existence,"
"Yes, but if it wasn't for the spell that their leader had put together to make those of the people in her times forget about her and her very own clan, im sure even the people in today's time would've known about black stars clan," Hellen said answering jol with her end of the story in which was partly true.
Jol pointed at her with his index finger. "Yes, that is true of what you say about them. But what I'm hearing from this message of a scroll is the issue, of all the people, What caused this stranger to draw the attention of the black stars and its leader?"
"You've heard of the many villages and small towns that were pillaged by the raiders right,"
"Yes," Answered Jol.
"Well, apparently the previous village that was being raided by these mongrels had a visitor, turns out that visitor was the stranger responsible for the slaughter of most of the dead raiders that lay dead in the village," Explained Hellen.
"So you are saying that this stranger was the one that killed them," Added Jol.
"Correct, and that's not all, I've gotten words that he was seen offering himself as an escort of sorts for a surviving family of four, and I presume that this was a family of villagers that he saved from the raiders," Hellen said stating her words clearly for jol to hear.
"So he saved a surviving family from a group of raiders, im sure that happens all the time when a knight in armor comes across that sort of trouble," Quip jol.
"I don't think you figured it out yet jol, This stranger might surprise you, and if the black stars are as interested in him to the point where they'll show themselves, then that makes it a pretty big importance for us to send a spy to see who he is," Says hellen.
"Okay, fine If this man, or stranger as you would say is as vital to black stars as people will soon find out, then I suggest that we send a couple of my man of choosing with yours, task them with either his capture, dead or alive," Offered jol as he brought his cup up along with Hellen who also brought hers up and together with a clang of their cups their deal was sealed.
"Glad to hear you say that Ser Jol," Says Hellen.
Meanwhile, in the middle of the forest, five people were seen walking through a muddy forest, taking a close look at everything they saw.
He was tasked with discovering the location of this basilisk; not that he was complaining; rather, the reason was due to a certain individual who appeared to be slowing him down.
"I do not know why I even agreed to this plan," said Elrand, who moved alongside the spartan in a back-to-back, keeping an eye out for any signs of their prey.
"Then you should have stayed behind," said five.
"Oh, ho, funny for you to say, I could have, but somehow I can not help but settle on that with you five, because I regret even bringing myself into this," Elrand responded.
"Agreed," Five said nonchalantly, not showing much concern for her safety, knowing the woman could handle herself just fine.
Five raised his arm into a fist to signal Elrand to come to a halt, which she eventually agreed to, but she was still perplexed by the Spartan's strange gestures.
As she waited for him to respond, she felt the water rippling. Looking out a few yards from where she and the spartan position were, she could not tell what was wrapped around a tree until her eyes slowly moved down to where the water was, at which point she reached back into her quiver and grabbed two arrows. She loads one into the bow and prepares to draw it back to shoot at the large scaly body of a snake wrapped around the tree. She could not see the large serpent's head, but she could bet it had already picked up her and the spartan's scent.
She was not sure if the snake could detect the odor from Five's skin, but she knew the armor he wore had already caught up with the serpent's nose.
"Where do you think the snake head is located?" Asked elrand.
She assumed the snake's head was either hidden in the vast bushes of leaves or was under the water, slithering its way toward their path. They assumed that if it had swum towards them, both she and five would have seen its enormous size. They do not know how long its entire body was; it certainly passed the standard long foot span of a forty-foot length of an average bus, but its width was around four feet wide; the scaly skin had black and green stripes with black dots in the center.
"I am guessing this is a basilisk?" Uttered five.
"Negative, knowing the world we are in, anything we might mistake for a basilisk would turn out to be this people's word for snake, and the funny thing is it is about as big as Earth's dead creature, I believe its name was the Titanoboa, an extinct prehistoric animal of mother earth, would you like to know more about it?" Deha said to him.
"No," Answered five.
Deha's face facial expression turned into that of a pouting child as she spoke. "You are no fun,"
Both Five and elrand immediately moved the edge of their weapon to the tree aiming it at where they could see a large silhouette moving throughout the tree's bushes, leafs shook as some were falling from the tree and into the water. Elrand's heart began beating slightly faster than it usually does. Her right arm slowly begins to pull the strings back as she prepares to shoot the big serpent, but as she is about to release her hold on the string the arm of the spartan rises motioning for her to a halt.
"What Is it now?" Elrand said irked that five had stopped her.
"It's dead," Replied the spartan.
"What do you mean it's dead?" Questioned elrand.
"Take a closer look into the tree behind next to the one you see," Five said pointing at a specific tree.
Elrand let out a huff of slight frustration and heeded the spartan's word and she did precisely just what he told her to. Staring far into the second tree behind the first one where the snake was wrapping its body around she saw that the second tree was rustling as if something else was hiding inside the bushy tree, at first she couldn't discern what it was, that is until she heard a loud crunching sound, it resounded like that of a bone being crushed together.
Then suddenly the snake unwrapped its body from the tree as it was being dragged up into the tree's bushes, seconds more crunching noises began sounding out followed by the snakeskin and parts of its flesh plunging onto the water below.
Just a foot above the bushes of the tree five spotted a scaly skin, This one wasn't the same as the previous snake both he and elrand saw, no, from what he could tell, this was probably another serpent one that the spartan presumed was feeding on the now dead snake.
The spartan watched on as the hidden serpent that was feeding on the dead snake ceased its feeding when it finally learned of elrand and him both standing in the middle of the river.
The half-eaten snake's body was then dropped onto the river water causing a big enough splash, that its body was slowly sinking into the water with a large stain of its blood staining a large portion of the river in red.
The spartan and elrand watched as the other snake raised itself out from the trees-bushes, They could clearly see the color of its scaly skin thanks to the daylight shining down on the forest. Then out of the tree, the two of them were adage due to the weird look of the snake that they were looking at. The serpent had a head shape comparable to that of a king cobra, the eyes were green and its pupil was slit black like a raven's feather. As it stopped midway up in the air while looking down at them Five was refraining from shooting it due to their AI companion asking him to wait a moment all the while as she was recording the large specimen.
"Are you doing this right now?" asked five, aiming the head of his rifle at the serpent that was eyeing him and Elrand.
"Yes, there are so many unknown creatures in this world that the unsc could learn about; imagine how many accomplishments we as humans can discover just by doing-"
Before the AI could finish speaking, Spartan moved quickly and grabbed Elrand, who jumped out of the way where they were standing. The snake had chosen that time to launch its first attack, moving its tail so quickly that it nearly caught the Spartan and Elrand off guard.
Five turned his head to Elrand, giving her an ambiguous look, but he doubted she could see his facial expression because his helmet visor covered his front face. Elrand had acted instinctively by shooting an arrow at the snake when it moved its head, and the snake had responded by attacking first with its tail.
"I am guessing this is what you call a Basilisk?" Five said speaking to elrand.
Elrand thanked the Spartan and loaded another arrow. "Yes, but this is not the only one of its kind; there are others with different looks, but this one here is very angry and wants to eat us."
"Thanks to her," muttered Deha.
"Then you know what we must do now that we have finally found it," Five told her, knowing she was well-informed about the bait plan that both of them had agreed on.
"Yes, attack the creature and force it to follow us into the trap, where the others will launch a surprise attack as we lure it in," Elrand said.
"Are you prepared then?" Said five.
Elrand nodded his way before preparing her bow, and the Spartan nodded in agreement.
The basilisk can be heard screeching out in a roar, irritated by Elrand's three arrows fired at its side of the body, one of which bounced off.
"Shit! I forgot that its skin is almost as hard as steel!" Elrand cursed herself as she and the Spartan fled in the opposite direction.
It had been a few minutes since the basilisk had pursued the two people who were fleeing as fast as they could. The large one in well-formed and bulky armor took the lead, keeping ahead of his companion, who was doing her best to keep up with him.
The woman made a foolish mistake by taking a quick look back at the basilisk, and somewhat she stepped on a rock in the river and slipped, splashing into the water. For a moment, she thought the basilisk was near her, but instead of running ahead, she reached for her bow and shot one arrow at the large serpent, which broke upon contact with its scales.
The basilisk came in fast mouth wide open and went in to bite her when from behind her she felt a hand grabbing the edge of her hood and pulling her back hard.
"Foolish choice elrand," Spoke the spartan as he held her bridle style and leaped upward nine feet high towards the surface grassland.
"Thanks for the save. You think this plan will work?" Elrand said speaking a bit louder over the forceful sound of the basilisk slithering after the running spartan.
Before Five could respond to her inquiry the big serpent used its tail to knock a nearby tree down attempting to use it as a way to cause the spartan to change course, which of course Five was well aware of the creature's scheming endeavor to force him to run the other direction, but instead of slowing down like the basilisk had wanted the spartan to five threw elrand forward way far up into the air, as he came near another falling tree he quickens on his feet, chunks of grass and dirt were flying backward as the spartan dug his boots into the ground and ran.
He could have run even faster than he does now, but he chose not to do so in order to slow himself down enough for the basilisk to catch up with him, which he would have to step on due to having to carry Elrand with him along the way.
As he approached, two falling trees ten feet away from him, the spartan slid under the first one and jumped toward the second with a grenade in the palm of his right hand, as the basilisk forth to the spartan, it knocked the other tree out of its way and sped up to five, mouth wide open as a fang large enough to put a hole in a man sprang down as the serpent creature came merely closer to him, unaware of the grenade that the spar
"Aha! That should slow it down," Quipped deha.
In response to the AI's remark, the basilisk hissed even louder than usual, indicating rage, and its eyes locked on the spartan's back, speeding up for him.
Five looked up at the sound of a screaming elrand beginning to get closer and closer and before he landed on his boots the spartan hand reached up and caught the woman in his arm midair as they then proceeded towards a precise path located just a couple yards away.
It did not take long for the two of them to arrive at their destination, as the Spartan spotted Randa and the others rushing to prepare the basilisk trap from sixty yards away.
Five glances down at Elrand, who is clutching the Spartan tightly to keep herself composed despite how quickly he was running through the forest. "Are you ready,"
Responding quickly to the spartan, Elrand nodded in confirmation and felt five adjust her by holding onto her waist. As they approached a clearer area with fewer trees, bushes, and large plants, the spartan skidded on one foot sideways to his left all the while holding Elrand, and as he stared up at a large enough branch, he immediately launched Elrand up high enough so that the basilisk could not reach her.
Without stopping for a moment Five burst out into a near-full speed while having to slow himself for the basilisk, and then as he approached a specific area, he zoomed in on an obvious part of the ground. It was a rectangular shape trap, with a length long enough to fit two school buses and a width just a few feet greater than that of the basilisk.
The only issue was that the basilisk was slightly longer than the trap Randa and Kyro had hoped would work. Even five had to agree that he should have the other dead snake chase them because it was undersized and could easily fall into the fifty-foot hole he had dug himself.
Throwing away the diminutive thought he had, the spartan decided that this was enough, and without a second thought or fear of being bitten in half by the fairly large serpent-like creature, he leaped forth for the trap, and just a few good six feet away from him, the basilisk was almost close to catching the spartan in a bite, only for it to fail when five planted his boot on the tree and shot down towards the piles of leaves and broken branches.
He knew the plan was not going to work as well as everyone expected. The basilisk was too quick a creature to get out of the trap if it had fallen into the hole, so he came to the conclusion that the best way for this to work was for him to be the bait, forcing the basilisk to chase after him, which he understood because he had burned half of its face off with the grenade.
Surprised by the spartan's bold decision, everyone watched in shock as five slammed into the trap's surface, followed by the basilisk and the armored spartan both falling down the trap.
Down on the hole, the basilisk attempted to bite Five, who quickly shifted away from his position. It tried to bite again, but Five moved away.
"So, what are your plans now? "You know, instead of offering yourself as bait," joked Deha.
"It is obvious enough, is not it?" said five.
The Spartan soldier continued to fire at the basilisk's wounded body as bullets struck the exposed skin, which was practically bleeding out into the world. Basilisk's armor can only withstand 2-3 rounds of M118 7.62x51mm full metal jacket armor-piercing slugs, according to its hardness scale. Unfortunately, the Spartan continued to shoot for the basilisk's skins whenever he was able to bring down the hardened parts of its scales.
Every time the basilisk attempted to bite down on the Spartan, he dodged it and used the opportunity to shoot at its wounded area of the body, only to become enraged when it failed to catch its prey.
The Spartan did not have much space or a large enough area to run to, so instead of being afraid for his life, he ran around and continued to shoot at the wounded basilisk. It was brought to his attention that the large serpent was becoming tired and moving slower than usual. It was at this point that the Spartan planned to strike, hoping that the serpent creature would pursue him after he had fried half of its face.
It was initially fueled by rage to kill the spartan with a grudge, but it was too late for it to retreat to its dwelling of a home, not when it was hoping to kill the insect of an armored being that somehow managed to evade its teeths every time it attempted to kill it.
It then chose to do something neither the Spartan nor anyone else expected: in a quick masquerade, the basilisk decided to encircle itself with the scales on the outside and the soft part of its skin on the inside.
The Spartans and others who were watching realized the serpent was shielding itself, and five felt the dirt ground beneath him shake suddenly, as if it were a minor earthquake.
"It's planning to go underground," Looking up at the other five called out to them. "Shoot the stake down now!'
Yelling down at him Randa replied in denial worried about him. "What about you!"
"Count to ten and pull it when you are done!" The Spartan replied as he dashed towards the basilisk.
Kyro's head popped out as he looked down from the surface and yelled at the Spartan. "Five, the chain! Catch it!"
While sprinting at the creature, the spartan looks up and grabs the chain. As he gets closer to the serpent, he holds the sharp point of its head, which was shaped like a large pointy spearheaded chain, and as he aimed for the exposed flesh of its skin, five stabbed right into it and proceeded to drive it deep into its body until he could feel the chain spear come into contact with its bone.
The Basilisk, enraged by this, uncoiled itself and shook its entire body. Its head popped up from the far side of its body as it stared at the spartan with animosity-filled eyes, and then it reacted so quickly that it caught the spartan off guard and speeded towards his mouth wide open.
He debated whether to use the rifle at the time, but was slightly hesitant when the basilisk charged at him with surprising speed. The serpent was only an inch away from closing its mouth on the Spartan when he reacted quickly and held his mouth open all the while as it strained to latch down on him.
From his point of view, Five could see how large this creature was, and it certainly could swallow a normal man whole with one bite. Heck even he had to admit that it could've done the same to him.
Five used all of his strength to pry the serpent's mouth wide open, preventing it from succeeding in its endeavor. A screen appeared on his helmet hud, informing him that the armor was slightly cringing against it to prevent the basilisk from eating him.
Shortly after, the basilisk began pushing forward with such force that the Spartan had to slam his right foot down to keep it from moving, but all it did was push him back, leaving a large trail of dirt.
At one point, the basilisk managed to lose the spartan's left arm by shaking its head. The spartan was taken aback and quickly caught the creature again, but this time instead of holding onto its mouth, he caught it using the small roles of sharp teeth. Frustrated by this, the basilisk attempted to shake itself loose but failed because the spartan was still holding on.
Given how determined this beast was to kill him, the Spartan concluded that he needed to do something that would cause it enough pain and then use that moment to free himself from his current situation.
When he notices the basilisk's teeth, he decides to pull them, which he believes will prevent the serpent creature from closing its mouth even further. As he was thinking about his escape plan, he heard a yell from above and noticed Randa preparing to bring down the large tree, which was about twelve feet long and had the bottom part sharpened enough to resemble a wooden spear.
"I finished counting five; hold that thing still, will you!" Randa said yelling.
Randa ran to adjust the large pole of a spear and trained right at where the basilisk's neck is. Five realized he had to hurry and do his best to keep the serpent still so Randa could release the pole spear.
"Hold it! Randa, not yet!" Five said to her.
Randa gave a contentious look and looked down to yell at him in response. "What! Why?"
Instead of explaining his sudden decision, the Spartan dodged a swing from the basilisk and rolled back, avoiding a second one before skidding to a halt and firing a few more rounds at it. "On my word, you will cut that rope!"
The Spartan continued to fire at the basilisk as he ran from one location to another. The Basilisk, enraged by the small armored being, continued to pursue him with failed bites and tail swings, but it was unable to keep up with five's pace as he stood his ground against it.
Before it could swing again, it came to a halt and let out a shrieking pain of a roar, recalling the excruciating pain it felt when the Spartan drove that chain spear into it. The serpent creature paused and looked back, its eyes following the long trail of black spiked chains all the way to where the end appeared to have stuck into its body.
To the side, just three feet away, stood the Spartan chain hands. He then began tugging on the chain, eliciting an audible roar from the Basilisk. The serpent slithered toward its prey, and five others saw this and ran towards the basilisk. Just a few feet away from the giant serpent, the Spartan slid back on his knees, arching forth as the scaly tail passed him. With a quick rendition, he started running around and over the basilisk, wrapping the chains around the serpent in quick succession.
It occurred to him that the basilisk had the strength to break free from the chain if necessary, but due to him weakening it with a few bullets and the chain spear sticking deep into its flesh, the beast could only hope to kill him.
The spartan charged forward, and the basilisk noticed him and slithered towards him in a zig-zag pattern. Without thinking twice, the Spartan dashed forward and leaped over the basilisk's head, then looked up at Randa and shouted.
"NOW!"
Without even giving a second thought to it Randa pulled out her sword from its sheath and swung for the rope that was holding the huge wooden spear.
Five saw that Randa had done as asked and as he turned to face the basilisk once more it moved toward him with hatred in its eyes. As he waited for a moment just a little bit he began counting in his head, and as the basilisk saw that the spartan wasn't even moving from his spot to at least try and avoid it from eating him, it instantly shot forward for its prey. The spartan finished counting eyes focused on the large serpent, At nine feet away from him the basilisk shot forth, at first The serpent thought why wasn't the spartan running, usually it would always run and dodge its attack, but no matter what it didn't care, it wanted to kill the armored man for good.
Thinking it was going have its chance this time the basilisk ceased its thinking when the spartan moved one foot back and with a hard pull it felt all the chain that was wrapped around its body tightening immediately, It let out a roar before it was slammed down into the ground, and just before it could make another move a sharpened wood spearheaded straight down and pasits's head.
Five let go of the chain as it dropped down on the dirt ground, he sauntered towards the still-alive basilisk, its eyes moved along as it trekked after the spartan. It watched as five came to the right side of its head. As five came to a halt he unlatched his MK50-sidearm pistol from the magnetic holster of his armor and pointed the head of it at the basilisk's eye.
The next moment three loud bangs clap throughout the forest before it eventually ended.
"Remind me not to get on his bad side," Kyro said whispering to Randa who was standing at his side.
"As long as you don't get in my way, I might just think about it, but not today. Come, help me with the rope," Uttered Randa.
"Five, im throwing the rope down to ya, Do us a favor and tie that serpent up will ya," Xalla said yelling down at him.
Meanwhile, as the spartan was in the work of tying up the basilisk deha's holographic face popped up in his helmets hud. "Jesus, that girl is loud!"
"Good thing you're an AI without an ear," replied Five.
"Ha ha, very funny tin can, Don't forget I can just hack into your armor without any trouble and overlock it. But I won't cause we both need a way to find the others," remarked Deha.
"The others?" Questioned five.
"Yes, the others, apparently Someone had set up a communication satellite which they then sent out a comsat relay message," Deha said.
"You think it might be one of ours?" Five said wondering if it were the unsc.
"Not unless we find out... But now we can get out of here first, so do as the girl says and pull that basilisk up tin can,"
