CHAPTER 4
Freya was waiting for Elijah and Hayley to get to the country house Klaus had sent them. She had made a concoction that just needed the venom from the seven packs added to it and then she could do the spell to turn it into a cure.
She looked out of the window and was glad when finally Elijah's car drove in front of the house.
"Thank god," Freya said in relief.
"Elijah, what is going on? Did you get the venom from all seven packs?" Freya impatiently asked his brother.
"Unfortunately, no, I found only six packs, the last one Marlow's, they seemed to be wiped off. I didn't find a single living member of that pack, not with the given time constraint."
"But here are the rest of the venoms," Hayley gave Freya six little bottles. "Store them away until we do get the seventh venom".
Then they all heard a car. They watched out of window in panic but sighed in relief when it turned out to be Klaus' car.
"Bonnie, I don't have a lot of time, Lucien is sleeping right now, but he could wake any minute now, Tell me what's going on, are everyone alright?"
"Yes, I just learned from Elijah that they are all safe. Now we have a problem. Elijah and Hayley got easily the venom from 6 packs of the wolves, right. But the seventh seems to be wiped out. It's probably going to take a long time to figure out if there's anyone alive of that pack. A lot of research and scouring the right areas."
Caroline-Aurora sighed in frustration. She hoped it was nearing the end, the whole thing. But it was going to drag on for a while, meaning she had to be with Lucien for a long time.
"Caroline, It's time to tell Klaus the truth. He's going to be reunited to Rebekah, Camille and his daughter soon enough and you don't want him to hear it from his sister."
"I know, I will have to think of something to say to Lucien why I need to leave town for a day. And I'll call Rebekah right away, so we could get there about the same time."
"Oh my god, You are going to go back undercover? Please end the charade before it costs you your life. Please listen to me, Care."
"Bonnie, we literally have nothing on Lucien. And until we do, I have to play along."
"Klaus won't let you go back, you'll have to kill him first."
"We'll see."
"Then we all have to do it the hard way, scour the earth, starting with the states to find one of them," Klaus concluded to say when they all heard a car. They looked out the window and saw a car they didn't recognize parking in front of the house.
Klaus immediately got his game face on, ready to protect his family from whatever enemies that came out of that car. They were all shocked, when their sister Rebekah Mikaelson got out of the car along with Camille O'Connel. They left the house, walking toward the car. Klaus called Rebekah's name. But she was occupied with something in the backseat.
And then the first one to react was Hayley, quietly saying her name. Then she flashed to Rebekah and took her daughter in her arms. Klaus also flashed to them and they both hugged Hope like she was their greatest treasure which she actually was.
All the Mikealsons were gathered in the living room and there was a deafening silence for awhile.
"Rebekah start talking or I swear to god, you don't want to know what I'll do with you." Klaus turned to her in anger.
"As much as I'd love to answer all your questions, there's someone who can do that better than me and I won't say a word before she gets here."
"What are you talking about? Who?"
Rebekah didn't say anything.
"Camille, do you have anything to say for yourself?" Klaus asked her. Camille looked like a deer caught in headlights.
"Leave her alone, Nik, she's compelled."
"You compelled Cami? Why on earth would you do that?" Klaus continued to inquire.
Then before Rebekah could say anything else, a car pulled in front of the house.
"She's here, finally." Rebekah said in relief and to everyone's absolute shock a certain red head they all knew too well climbed out of the car.
"What the hell is she doing here, Rebekah." Klaus said bitterly, wounds still too fresh.
"Let her come in, Nik, and she will tell you everything."
Klaus opened the front door and let her come in. Instantly he noticed that she didn't look anything like herself.
Klaus continued pacing and said, "Well, I'm listening. What's going on Aurora?"
"Not quite, Klaus." Caroline-Aurora said, walking around, touching things, waiting for him to guess right.
Klaus looked at her dumbfoundedly and then it dawned on him, the little things he noticed that were wrong with Caroline-Aurora and he asked,
"You are not Aurora." It's more of a statement than a question.
"No, I'm not, Klaus." She smiled at him, kindly. Not at all like Aurora would.
"What's going on here? Rebekah?" He was totally dumbfounded, like someone had hit him hard on the head.
"Okay, I'll give you a hint." Rebekah said with a smile, "In her own skin she's blonde, she's perky and kind of in love with you."
"Rebekah!" Caroline-Aurora chastised her. Now was not the time for that, she thought.
As realisation hit him, he flashed to where Caroline-Aurora stood and grabbed her jaw, forcing her to look at him straight in the eye, looking for a confirmation to something he already knew, just couldn't believe. The look on her face, her eyes so innocent and full of love, that was her, he was sure. He released her and walked away from and started pacing.
He turned to Caroline-Aurora again and asked in utter rage, "What the hell, Caroline?"
"It's a long story, Klaus."
"Well, you are not leaving here until you have told it."
"I was in Whitmore, living my life, you know going to college. And one day, Bonnie came to me, saying that there was a new power rising soon in New Orleans. More powerful than the Originals. That it would be the end of your Family. She figured I would want to know."
"Why? Why would she tell you?" Klaus asked, flinging his arms in exasperation.
"Because she knows how I feel about you." She said so innocently.
Klaus stared at her as he realised what she meant and they stared knowingly each other with pain and vulnerability evident.
She continued though, "So I got the details from you and later Rebekah and I figured that Aurora was the way in. So I met with Rebekah and she taught me how to walk and talk like Aurora. Bonnie helped with transitioning my soul into Aurora's body and then I got close to Lucien-"
"You started sleeping with him. You let him fuck you." He shouted in rage.
"Yes." She whispered.
He grabbed her and raised his fist to hit her and hesitated.
"Niklaus," his brother called him out on his behaviour.
"Nik." Rebekah yelled and flashed in front of Caroline-Aurora was. "Take it out on me if you need to punch something. Leave her alone, she doesn't deserve this."
Klaus calmed down and let her go. He couldn't really beat her, not in any circumstances.
"When was that exactly?" Klaus continued to pry.
"I took over Aurora's body on 1st of March, 2016 but preparations started about two weeks earlier."
"Long before he drunk the serum."
"Yes," she said quietly.
"He killed Kol and you didn't even try to stop it," Klaus fumed.
"No, cause it was my idea."
"What?" Klaus shouted.
"Caroline." Rebekah was hurt too. Even she didn't anticipate that.
Caroline-Aurora found herself suddenly pinned to a wall, with Klaus' hand strangling him as her feet didn't touch the ground anymore.
"Nik, stop it. I taught her everything she knows. She had to think quick on her feet and make hasty decisions because that's what Aurora does."
Klaus released Caroline-Aurora and told Rebekah, "Don't worry, your time will come."
"I did what I had to do, okay. After he made me drink the serum too, it was obvious, he wanted to take you all on, especially you, Klaus. I convinced him to let you live and the price of that was taking your home, making you bend the knee and killing Kol because somebody had to die and I chose Kol as the collateral damage, okay. I convinced him to let you all live. I did that, Klaus." Caroline-Aurora shouted back at him.
"So you kidnapped Hope?" He yelled.
"Yes, I took her and Camille out of the equation. It was the only way to keep them safe."
"Don't presume to tell me what is required to keep my daughter safe, Caroline." He fumed "Why didn't you tell me? Why keep it from me all this time?"
"Because you in your ego trip would have blown my cover and ordered me to go back to Mystic falls." She snapped.
"Of course. You had no business being involved in this. I let you live in Mystic Falls, didn't say anyone anything about you, kept you safe and then you pull something like this." He continued to shout.
"I wanted to help. He would have killed you all." She said more quietly now.
"I, Caroline I alone have protected myself and my family for 1000 years. Why would you think I needed your help now?" He also took it down a notch.
"I'm sorry."
"Are you?"
"Yes, I am sorry I love you so much that I couldn't stand the thought of someone killing you and I am sorry for doing something about it instead of laying around and being useless." She cried.
"Caroline-"
"No, you know I had the best intentions in mind when I started this and now you can't forgive me cause you feel betrayed that I kept you in the dark and slept with your long time frenemy. Newsflash, I did what I had to do, including letting that bastard fuck me every single day for weeks. If you think that it wasn't disgusting, that I don't feel disgusted with myself then you'd be wrong. I am sorry that your ego can't handle all that because-"
She didn't get to finish as he pinned her to the closest wall and started kissing her. Klaus wanted to take her to bed right now but stopped.
"I can't do this, not with you being in someone else's body." He started pacing again.
"It's okay, Klaus." She tried to calm him.
"No, no it's not okay, Caroline." He shouted at her. "You tricked me, it was the last thing I would have ever expected from you. But than again you have deceived me before. Some things never change, huh."
She slapped him hard.
"How dare you? You are so blinded by rage that you can't see how everything I did, I did for you." She said and turned to leave.
But grabbing her wrist, Klaus yanked her back and asked in fury, "Where do you think you are going?"
"I'm going back, my cover is still intact."
Everybody in the room sighed in total shock that she would still think about continuing this charade.
"Over my dead body." Klaus roared. "This is not some CIA operation. You are not some double agent working to save the world. This is real life and you have done enough. This circus ends NOW!"
"I'm sorry Klaus, but until you figure out how to kill him, I'm going back."
"Like hell you will," He tried to grab her again but she was quicker, hitting him across the room. Before he regained his composure, she was gone.
ABOUT A MONTH EARLIER
Caroline was in bed with one girl and one guy. The guy was fucking her anal style and while the girl gave her oral sex. Rebekah was there in the room with her, keeping the distance as much as possible.
"How does it feel? Are you going to be able to come like this?"
Caroline didn't say anything.
"Caroline? I'm talking to you?" Rebekah asked impatiently.
"I don't think so, it's uncomfortable and I just want it to end already." She sobbed.
"So fake an orgasm right now. Fake moans and fake orgasm, in a little voice I taught you."
"Rebekah, please!"
"You have to Caroline. What do you think Lucien is gonna think if you sob like that in bed with him and someone else? You're an actor, this is just like a porn movie set. Just give it to me now and when you get to your supposed orgasm, you bite your victims and then snap their necks and then it's done."
"Easy for you to say."
"It's not easy for me to say, all I think about is how Nik will kill me or send me to a nut house as well."
"So now give me your best performance, Meryl Streep."
And Caroline did give the performance of her life and drained and killed the victims afterwards like Rebekah had been teaching her for almost a week already.
After she was done, she wanted to go home, but she knew Rebekah had other plans.
"Now we are going to party, because partying with Lucien isn't drinking beer and talking to your friends. You have to know every little detail that comes with his lifestyle, I'm going to teach you everything and you're going to be an excellent student, because I will not be responsible for you death, got it?"
Caroline just nodded as she got dressed and went along with Rebekah.
