Count Dooku's Palace
When one looked at one of the large palaces that was home by one of the Counts of the Six Great Houses that ruled Serenno they would probably expect it to be full of nobles and servants but the home of Count Dooku was almost completely empty with the exception of droids that managed the menial tasks of ensuring the palace was kept clean, cooking and guarding the palace in Dooku's absence while almost any form of furniture had been removed. The Count had little use for such useless possessions as he meditated in a large room with a glass window that allowed him to look over the rose bushes surrounding his palace. The Count himself was using the free time he had which was no doubt little as any moment someone would contact him with news on the war effort and ask him for advice and instructions on what to do next.
Until a certain call interrupted him which he immediately answered. "My Master. I was about to contact you. I'm afraid to report that the Dark Reaper was destroyed. I managed to escape Thule after I activated it, but it seems Skywalker was able to defeat it."
"There will be other opportunities, Lord Tyrannus. For now, there has been a development in the Milky Way Galaxy that acquires our immediate attention." Darth Sidious spoke, quick and to the point.
"A development?" Dooku raised his head.
Sidious produced the same information he had been given by Harry Mudd and needless to say, Dooku was surprised. "How…is this possible? Has this information truly been confirmed?"
"It has. Though my source admitted he had just received it before contacting me, he believed it was true through the reputation of the Enterprise and its captain." Sidious answered. "The project is not only real but was detonated. My own sources have spoken with the Federation Council and it is all true. They have created a way to make planets."
Dooku's mind was racing with the possibilities…and dangers. "A device that can create planets…I knew they were advanced but nothing like this. This is something possible on par with the so-called Ancients. If they can create something like this, how can we be sure that they do not have some other form of secret weaponry?"
"For now, this Project: Genesis is meant only to be a method used to terraform planets. Still, even if it not used as a weapon, this Genesis could allow the Federation to spread without control. Worlds previously denied to them would allow access to much more resources, the population would grow substantially and that's only if they use this in one galaxy." Sidious frowned.
"How shall we proceed then?" Dooku questioned.
"Carefully. My sources state that Genesis is quickly becoming a galactic controversy. No doubt, a great many are worried that it could be used as a weapon of mass destruction." Sidious answered. "This fear can be used to influence both the Republic and the Separatist Senates."
"A way to turn both sides against the Federation." Dooku realized.
"Exactly! And there shall be those within the Separatist Senate who shall attempt to change these terms, seek more…reasonable alternatives such as acknowledgement of the Confederacy as its own sovereign power. They must be…made to remain silent for the duration of these negotiations."
"I shall see to it, Master." Dooku bowed his head, "I will act with utmost discretion."
"I shall also be prioritizing completion of our Ultimate Weapon. I want you to begin searching for ways to speed up its construction but kept at a pace that would allow us to properly test its technology." Sidious continued. "Geonosis was to be its staging ground, but it is at the moment, lost to us."
"Poggle assures me that the Geonosian resistance will take back control of the planet. It is only a matter of time." Dooku stated.
"Good. Once he and the rest of the Separatist leaders learn of Genesis, they will no doubt be motivated by the same fear as the Senates. Instruct Poggle to move as many workers of Geonosis as he can discreetly and to begin working on the superstructure of the Weapon at a location well hidden. The rest of the Separatist Council will assist by providing droids and resources needed." Sidious instructed. "And should Geonosis fall back into Republic hands, they will simply take control and continue the construction."
"Understood, master." Dooku nodded. "Though, I am concerned. Given that this Genesis device is no bigger than a modified torpedo they could mass produce it by the time the Weapon is complete."
"Yes, I had considered that danger myself." Sidious conceded. "We might have a problem…or an opportunity."
"An opportunity?" Dooku raised an eyebrow before he understood. "You believe we can acquire this 'Genesis' as our own?"
"There are at least three survivors of the scientists who developed Genesis." Sidious stated. "They would have the knowledge we would need to create our own Genesis device."
"Our own Genesis?" Dooku pondered. "Ambitious, I must say. Even for you, Master."
"But no less, beneficial should we succeed." Sidious stated with a smile. "We will proceed carefully, Lord Tyrannus. We must take a close look at this Genesis and see what the Federation will do. I will contact you again when I have a more solid strategy prepared."
"As you wish, Master." Dooku bowed his head as the transmission ended.
