Ch 107 Holiday Dilemma
"Merry Christmas, Casey and Aiden!" Joesph, Lydia, Guilia, Gregor, Finn, and everyone who visited Helena and Steven at the Hospital greeted them back.
Helena almost forgot it was the Holiday Break, and Today was Christmas Day. A Holiday is also celebrated in her old World where they celebrate the Birth of Christ.
The People in this World celebrate it differently than a Messiah. They celebrate the Day when A singular Person brought People and Pokemon together which led to the Modern Day,
The two Boys were giggling and crying cheerfully, seeing the bright and cheery atmosphere of their strange place. Aiden was wearing an Eevee Winter Onesie while Casey was wearing a Piplup Onesie,
Steven held Casey in his arms, chuckling at how mesmerized by the Christmas Party. "Are you excited, Casey? This is all for you." He said, seeing Casey wasn't taking his eyes off the festive House.
"Goo!" Casey giggles, looking around the room at the many People and Pokemon alike.
Helena held onto Aiden, who was also captivated by the room and the smiles. "Babu, babu," Aiden laughs, seeing her Pokemon among the others.
The black-haired smiles before approaching Steven. "Steven, are you sure having a celebration now is the wisest choice?" Helena asked, questioning if this was right.
The Hoenn Champion looks at his Fiancée, walking inside the Vacation Home. "It's only for the Day, and it's both the Twins' Birthday and Christmas." Steven reasons with Helena, understanding what she's saying.
Steven motions to their Boys, who look really excited. "I want to see these two experience the joy of Life before dealing with the Team Magma situation." He said, wanting the best for their Sons.
Helena couldn't help but look at the Boys. Both were excited and happy, she couldn't possibly ruin their joy. "Alright, I guess it won't hurt to have fun just for one day," She said, being convinced,
Steven gave a cheerful smile; happy to hear Helena agreed with his reason. "Thank you, Ellie." The Steel-blue haired Champion said, appreciating her being lenient.
"Yes, yes, just make sure they have a fun time, Steven," Helena said as they went further inside the House.
Inside the House, the Day passed as the Twins were having fun. Both were sitting on the floor next to the many Pokemon gathered around them.
Aiden yawned, watching Armaldo and Cradily who were staring at him. The Steel-blue haired Boy giggles, finding the two Pokemon interesting. He reached out to one of them, which was Carbink, hopping past him.
Casey was being called over by his Grandmother, aiming her Rotom Phone at him. "Look here, Casey. Look to Grandma." Lydia smiles, waving at the young Child.
The white-haired Boy looks at his Grandmother, he looks with curiosity at the floating Rotom Phone. "Goo?" He reached out, trying to reach for the Rotom Device. His eyes then shift to Sylveon who approaches the Infant.
Helena sat on the couch, watching her Pokemon and Sylveon's interaction. She smiles, taking a sip from her drink. "Gotta be a shame; you can't have an Alcoholic drink." She looks up and sees Flannery holding a glass of Wine in her hands.
"For the longest time I wanted to try it, but it wasn't the right time." The black-haired Woman said those times were either she was too young, or she was Pregnant with the Twins. "Maybe when both the Boys aren't breastfeeding then I could try it," Helena said,
"That's good to hear because I'm sure Roxy there has planned for a cocktail Hour during your Wedding Day." Flannery grins, taking a sip from her glass.
The black-haired Woman chuckles, looking at Roxanne who finished speaking with her Sisters. She then made her way over to the Girls, petting Nosepass and Geodude who were interacting with the other Pokemon.
Roxanne approaches her two Friends, coming up to them. "Okay, I have sketched up a draft of what your Wedding might look like." The brunette Gym Leader smiles, holding her Wine glass.
"Oh really?" Helena looks at Flannery, smiling at how Roxanne was speaking while a bit drunk. "Please, Roxanne what do you have in mind for the Ceremony?" She asked, knowing she was drunk a little too much.
Roxanne leans on the couch, going over what she has so far. "Okay, you know that patio you have in the backyard? Well, it would be the perfect place for an Altar for the Ceremony." The Rock-type Gym Leader said to her two Friends,
"I'm pretty sure we've gone over this before." The young Mother said to her Friend, already knowing that she wanted a Home Wedding where all of her Friends from everywhere would attend.
"Hmm, no you didn't. I think you and Steven did, but you didn't share any plans with anyone else." Roxanne said, looking at Helena confirming what she said.
"I didn't? Maybe I spoke to Steven or N about it…" Helena said, pondering about whether or not she told her or anyone else.
Flannery leans into Helena's ears and whispers. "(I'm pretty sure drunk Roxy is very creative.)" She giggles, seeing Roxanne was in her element.
Helena sighed, but she couldn't help but agree with Flannery. Regardless of what state Roxanne is in, she's still great when it comes to her Hobby. "It sounds like you got a good idea what mine and Steven's Wedding might look like."
Roxanne nodded, tilting her head at the young Professor. "I'll most definitely send a binder with a more detailed description of what I have planned." The brunette Gym Leader smiles,
"That's great, I'm looking forward to that, Roxy," Helena commented, excited about what her closest Friend had planned,
Steven was on the other side of the room with his Father, Adam, Brawly, and Wallace. "So, it's almost time for that, Steven," Wallace said, drinking a spot of wine. "Did you choose who your Candidates are?" He asked,
The Hoenn Champion chuckles, looking at his Rival. "I only picked one, I didn't have the time to look for anymore with the situation as it is," Steven said, gazing over to his Fiancée and Sons.
"That's understandable Son, but that's still not a valid excuse to skip your work," Joseph said, looking at his Son.
"I know Father, you don't need to tell me that in my face." Steven sighs, understanding that skipped work is looked down upon. However considering their situation, it can't be helped, "I'll figure out who else would be another Candidate," He said,
Adam looks at the Navy-blue-haired Man, adding his thoughts to the conversation. "Finding Candidates is very difficult despite having a variety of trainers," The Professor explains to the President of the Devon Corporation.
Brawly chuckles placing his hand on his hip. "Oh yes, it's hard to find the right Dudes and Dudettes for-" He stops, hearing the Twins crying.
"Meta," Metagross and the others called for Steven, prompting him to look their way.
"What is it, Metagross- oh, I see now." Steven smiles, seeing Aiden next to his Partner. He chuckles seeing him hugging his leg, falling asleep next to him.
Obviously, Metagross doesn't want either of the Twins to be too close to him. His large Body might hurt the little ones. "Meta," The Duel-type looks at his Partner for his assistance.
"Metagross seems to be in a pickle," Adam said, seeing the young Boy taking a liking to the Iron Leg Pokemon.
Joseph chuckles, looking at his Son. "Steven, I believe your Pokemon needs your help," He said, finding Metagross's situation to be adorable.
The Steel-blue haired Champion also finds it cute. "Alright Aiden, I'm sure you liked Metagross. But his leg isn't a place to sleep." Steven said, picking up his Eldest Son into his arms.
Aiden didn't bother to complain, he snuggled against his Father's chest as he continued to sleep. "Talk about a deep sleeper." Steven chuckles, cradling his Son.
Brawly approaches the Champion, looking at his Nephew. "Reminds me of Helena, Flan said that whenever Ellie worked on Schoolwork, she slept in past her alarm." The Fighting-type Gym Leader commented,
Steven chuckles, looking at his closest Friend. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure the two will show some habits they inherited from us when they get older," The Champion commented, turning around in the direction of the Bedroom. "I better get this one to bed, it's late." He said,
"The Little Cutie and his Brother sure have an exciting First Birthday after being Born." Wallace chuckles, wiggling his finger at the young one's face.
Aiden made a bothered noise, turning away from his Uncle as he continued to sleep.
Steven nodded, about to head to the Bedroom made for the Twins on his orders. He looks at his Fiancée, chatting away with his Mother and their other Friends. "Ellie," The Champion called out to the young Professor.
Helena looks at Steven, hearing him call her Name. "I'm going to take Aiden to his Crib, what about Casey?" Steven asked her, wondering how their other Son was. "Is he tired at all?" He asked her,
Helena and the others looked at the white-haired Boy, being coddled by Lydia and Concordia. "See for yourself," She smiles,
Steven looks at where his Second Son "Ah, Casey is busy with Mother." He commented, seeing the white-haired Child contempt in his Grandmother's arms. Concordia "Clearly he's not going to sleep any time soon." He sighs,
"Wow, so Fatherly Steven." Flannery smirks crosses his legs and smirks at him.
Steven gave a light chuckle before feeling Aiden shifted in his arms. "Okay, okay, let's get you to your Bed," He said softly, walking to the Twins' Bedroom to put his Son in his crib.
The red-haired Gym Leader looks at Helena, smiling at what she just saw. "Alright, looks like Stevie is getting well-adjusted to being a Father," Flannery said, observing the Champion.
"He's learning and getting used to the position, but he's a natural with them," Helena commented, knowing he's trying his best despite being a Father for a Day.
Roxanne chuckles, drinking some more of her Wine. "From what I've seen so far, Steven is really enjoying it." The Rock-type Gym Leader said, "And you as well, Ellie. You really are enjoying Motherhood on how you're more…I don't know the right word…" She ponders, trying to find the right word to describe her.
"I think in Brawly's terms is mellow," Flannery said, looking at Helena. "Since having your Sons, you had this quick change. More… cool-headed and mature, it suits you." She commented,
Helena doesn't agree with Roxanne and Flannery, sure they both are enjoying Life as Parents. However, she doesn't feel like she has changed since having Aiden and Casey. "Really? I think I'm the same as ever. I just have more responsibilities now that I'm a Mother." She smiles.
"Kirlia," Kirlia, Dragonair, and Sylveon disagree. The more in-tune Pokemon with Helena has noticed that she changed a bit in a good way.
"Sylve, Sylveon," The Intertwining Pokemon added, sensing Helena was a bit different.
"Seen, even your Pokemon agrees with us," Flannery points to Helena's Partners, indicating they saw it too.
Helena merely shrugs, accepting whatever they see. "If you say so everyone-" She stopped, seeing someone approach her. "Hmm? Finn, what is it?" She asked the Security Guard,
Finn stood before Helena, having something to tell her. "Lady Helena, we have an uninvited Guest at the front door." The Security Guard informed the young Mother,
Helena blinks, wondering who is at the door. "Why didn't you let them in?" She asked the Guard of the Vacation House.
"He says that he was in a bit of a rush, but wanted to congratulate before leaving," Finn informed the young Professor.
"Oh, is that all?" Helena stood up from the couch, ready to meet whoever was at the front door. "I'll go meet him then,"
Kirlia stood up and walked over to her Partner wanting to join her to meet with this Person at the door.
Helena smiled at Kirlia, accepting her company. "Alright, you can come with me, Kirlia." She said, turning to her Friends and Pokemon. "I'll be right back, everyone." She said, walking towards the front door.
As Helena walks over to the front door with Kirlia next to her. She puts on the outdoor slippers and opens the door,
The young Professor looked at the Person who wanted to speak with her. "Well, well, Professor Potter, it's been a while." Wyscan greeted Helena, smiling at her.
"Wyscan, I didn't expect you to be here," Helena said, surprised to see her oldest Friend at the front door. "What are you doing here?" She asked,
Wyscan chuckles, crossing his arms. "Isn't it wrong for someone to visit a Friend who just has a pair of twins?" The blonde Researcher said, looking down at Helena.
"I guess not-"
"Kirlia!" Kirlia shouted, sending a powerful Moonblast at the blonde Researcher. The blast knocked Wyscan back further down the path.
Kirlia landed in front of a shocked Helena, surprised to see her attacking their Friend. "Kirlia, what are you doing!? Why did you attack Wyscan?" Helena asked her Partner, taken aback by her actions.
The Fairy/Psychic-type looks back at her Partner, explaining her reason for Attacking Wyscan. "Kirlia, Kirlia!" Kirlia exclaims, pointing to where Wyscan was.
Helena looks at Kirlia, understanding a bit from her. "Huh? What do you mean this isn't Wyscan-"
The young Professor and her Pokemon heard Wyscan laughing from where he stood. "W-Wyscan? Why are you laughing?" Helena asked her Friend.
The blonde Researcher smiles, standing up from the Pathway. "Ah, I should've known that I can't hide my true feelings even though I'm my Ability." Wyscan chuckles,
Wyscan's body began to become hazed before a new face replaced him. "Gotta say, I have to thank Courtney for telling me where to find you, Professor." The Man said, looking at Helena with a smirk. "Her Future Sight Ability is really useful to find an exact location of a target."
The Man has a fair complexion with dark eyes. He has messy purple hair with an orange streak on the fringe. Under his left eye was a green tattoo, however, that wasn't what Helena was concerned about.
The Man was wearing a black jumpsuit with a red belt around his waist. A red tattered cloak was draped over his shoulders and was being held by a Team Magma Logo pin.
"You're not Wyscan, who are you!?" Helena demanded of the Stranger, clearly working for Team Magma based on his outfit.
The Grunt smiles, flipping his hair at Helena. "The Names Brodie, I'm an Ability User in Admin Courtney's Strike Team." Brodie introduced himself to the young Professor. "As you can see, I can disguise myself as anybody I want. It was so easy to trick that Guard into bringing you, all I have to do is to ask for you and that's it." He chuckles,
Helena was on the defensive, ready to defend herself from the Team Magma Grunt. 'I have to make Steven and the others aware of the situation,' She said to herself,
Her eyes then gaze at Kirlia, and at that moment she realizes they can get everyone's attention if they Battle. "Kirlia, let's drive him away!" Helena said,
Kirlia looked at her Partner, understanding what she was saying. "Kirlia," The Emotion Pokemon turned and faced the Team Magma Grunt, ready to Battle.
"Oh? You're challenging me to a Battle?" Brodie asked, chuckling to himself, "Very well, it's only right to give you a fair shot of defending yourself," The Team Magma Grunt said, taking out his Pokeball,
Brodie grins, ready to toss his Pokemon out. "Ditto, make this quick!" The Ability User tosses his Pokeball, releasing a pink blob-like Pokemon.
"Ditto," The Transform Pokemon gave an evil grin, something rare for this type of Pokemon.
"A Ditto," Helena recognizes the Normal-type Pokemon, understanding it'll be a difficult Battle. "Be careful Kirlia, make sure you keep an eye on what Ditto can do."
"Kirlia," Kirlia nodded, ready to make the First move.
Brodie smirked and quickly held his hand towards his Partner. "Ditto use Transform!" The Team Magma Agent ordered his Pokemon.
"Ditto," Ditto's Body began to morph, he began to grow taller and gain limbs.
Helena and Kirlia watched as Brodie's Ditto became a copy of Kirlia herself.
The Ditto Kirlia smiles, copying everything about the Duel-type Pokemon. From her Status to her Moveset,
"Did you like Ditto's Transformation?" The dark purple-haired Agent asked, smirking at the young Professor. "He has the exact Body shape and Moveset that are exactly the same as your Kirlia. Like Partner like trainer as they say," Brodie chuckles as he gets ready to Battle.
Brodie held his hand out, taking the first move after reading the Stats and information. "Alright Ditto, use Moonblast!" He ordered his Partner.
Helena/Kirlia vs Brodie/Ditto
"Kirlia," Ditto leaped into action, raising his hand as the Moon appeared behind him. He then released a pink ball of energy at Kirlia.
Helena quickly acted, "Kirlia dodge and use Shadow Ball at the Moonblast!" She exclaims,
Kirlia dodged the Moonblast just as her Partner said. "Kirlia!" Kirlia held her arms to her center before releasing her Shadow Ball to counter the Moonblast.
The two Attacks hit each other, causing a small explosion before them.
'Good, that should get everyone's attention from inside.' Helena said to herself, she's glad that her plan worked. Now she has to hold out until Steven or anyone else arrives to help them.
"Ditto, now! Use Thunderbolt!" Brodie cried out through the dust cloud.
Out of nowhere, three bolts of Lightning burst through the dust. Each one was hard to tell where they were aiming.
Taking no chances, Helena quickly reacted to the Thunderbolt. "Kirlia use Protect against the Thunderbolt!" Helena said, ordering her Pokemon.
"Kirlia!" The Fairy/Psychic-type used Protect, defending herself from the Thunderbolts. Each bolt struck her Protection,
Brodie smirks, seeing he is one step closer to being recognized by Leader Maxie. "Do you really think I would play fair in this Battle?" The purple-haired Grunt asked Helena,
Helena's eyes widen, remembering that Team Magma doesn't always obey the rules of a Pokemon Battle. "Kirlia!"
Kirlia looks at her Partner about to respond to her call when Flames burst through the dust cloud.
The Flames hit Kirlia on the side where her Protect wasn't active. "KIRLIA!" The Duel-type cried in pain, being hit directly by the Flames.
"Kirlia!" Helena cried out to her Partner, going to her side. She held Kirlia as she glared at whoever was responsible for the Flamethrower as the dust cleared.
Brodie looks to the side, smirking at whoever assisted him. "I should've expected that you'd be keeping an eye out on the situation after the fumble Maya caused last time." The Ability User said, greeting another member of Team Magma.
"Leader Maxie wants this operation done and quickly. I foresaw this path would go down and might lead to complications down the line." Helena saw Courtney, the Team Magma Admin who has the Ability to see Future Events.
Next to Courtney was her trusted Ninetails joining Ditto Kirlia, "Ninetails," The Fox Pokemon puffs an ember, indicating that she was responsible for the Flamethrower.
"Kirlia," Ditto grins, looking at the two due to their numbers.
Courtney looked at Helena, "Professor Potter, I analyze that you have next to zero chances of succeeding here," The Team Magma Admin said, "Give up and come with us peacefully and we will leave everyone here alone."
Helena's eyes widened, understanding what Courtney was suggesting or rather threatening. "You wouldn't dare hurt everyone here." She said, glaring at the two Team Magma members.
"If it's for Leader Maxie's goals, we will even do the most heinous of acts," Brodie said, not minding committing such acts.
Courtney couldn't care regardless of what type of job it was. As long as Maxie then she will do them. "What is your response, Professor? Come with us willingly or unwillingly." She said, raising her head. "The choice is yours to make."
Helena couldn't risk the safety of everyone inside the House. However she couldn't take the risk of Team Magma's goals coming true, "I wil-"
Suddenly Kirlia quickly got up, attacking both Ditto and Ninetails. "Kirlia!" Kirlia released a powerful Psybeam at the two, defending her Partner.
"How impudent, Ninetails Fire Blast." Courtney remains unresponsive to the sudden attack from the Emotion Pokemon.
"Ninetails!" Ninetails's mouth began to spew out Fire before releasing a powerful Fire Blast at Kirlia.
Brodie raised his hand, smirking at the Attack. "HA! Alright, I was getting tired of this talk!" The Ability User said, "Ditto, counter Kirlia's Psybeam with your own Psybeam!"
"Kirlia!" Ditto raised his arms, releasing his own Psybeam at Kirlia.
The Psybeam and the other two Attacks once more, Kirlia was struggling to hold her ground. "K-Kirlia…" However, she won't give in,
Kirlia has to protect Helena, she has done so much for her and the others. It's only right for her to protect Helena.
"Kirlia!" Kirlia looks back, assuming Helena wants her to stop. However, what came next was unexpected, "You can do it, Kirlia!" Helena said, her hands were glowing gold,
"I believe in you," Helena smiles, giving Kirlia a boost in confidence and power.
Kirlia smiles, nodding to Helena's words. "Kirlia!" She responded as her power increased. Suddenly, Kirlia's Body began to glow white, shining in the Night.
Helena watches as Kirlia's Body grows taller, and her skirt extends into a long dress. Her head and her hair changed, and a pink horn grew from her chest. "Kirlia…you're…." She smiles, hearing People coming from the House.
"Helena! Kirlia! We're-" Steven and the others left the House after hearing the explosions. They all froze, seeing Kirlia changing form.
"Is that…" Brawly's eyes widen, seeing the Pokemon.
Roxanne smiles, all know what is happening. "Kirlia is Evolving!"
The light disbursed, revealing a fully Evolved Kirlia,
"Gardevoir!" The Embrace Pokemon gracefully cried out, looking at the Opponents, ready to Battle.
