Episode 322: The Sea Temple Part 1
Three weeks ago...
We open up in a forest fire taking place in the far off region of Fiore. Many Pokémon are running for their lives. A Sentret trips and fell to the ground as a tree is falling over. Sentret is then saved by a teenage girl. She has fair skin, long blue hair in an up-flowing ponytail, and red eyes. She is also slender and fit, has long legs, and is tall. She is wearing a uniform that consists of an open red vest with white cuffs and yellow triangles, a white shirt, a black leotard, and matching black brief-like shorts with a gold waistband. For accessories, She wears a red headband, a white belt, and black and white fingerless gloves that match her shorts and leotard. On her feet, she wears very long black socks with gold borders at the tops and red and white high-top shoes with black lines. She rescued Sentret before the burning tree crushed the Scout Pokémon. Beside her is a Plusle.
"Azurill, Marill, Azumarill! Water Gun on the trees!" The girl ordered. Azurill, Marill, and Azumarill fired Water Gun at the burning trees, putting out the flames. The fire is eventually put out thanks to the efforts of Azurill, Marill, and Azumarill, and the winds shifting in their favor. She made contact with someone through her communicator. "Solana to Pokémon Ranger base, the forest fire's out."
"Excellent work as always, Solana. What of the group responsible for the fire?" A male voice asked.
"The authorities are dealing with them. It turns out that the fire was caused by a couple of kids playing with matches," Solana said.
"Sounds like somebody will be having some serious talking to. Return to base immediately. Something was just dropped on my desk and it's right up your alley," the man said.
"Roger that," Solana said.
Solana returned to the Pokémon Rangers headquarters and she stood before the chief of the Pokémon Rangers.
"Solana, good of you to come. Again, excellent job at putting out that fire," the chief said.
"And you have my thanks, chief. So what's my next assignment?" Solana asked.
"The assignment I have you on next has a lot to do with the mythical Pokémon called Mew," the chief said.
"Mew? Was there a recent sighting?" Solana asked.
"I believe so. And there's also talk of Pokémon Hunters in the same area, and it's very likely that these Pokémon Hunters will do anything to get their hands on Mew since it's considered to be the rarest of all Pokémon, so not many people have ever seen it. Those Pokémon Hunters must never capture Mew and sell it to whoever placed an order for it," the chief said.
"I understand. I only need to know where I'm being sent to and I can do my part to protect Mew," Solana said.
"This recent sighting was reported on Faraway Island. There is a temple located in the island's jungle, so that's the first clue," the chief said.
"You can count on me, chief. I'll go and make sure Mew is safe and protected," Solana said.
"I knew you were the right girl for the job. Your mission starts at once," the chief said. Solana took her leave of the chief's office. He receives contact from a staff member. He answered it. "Judy, I was about to check up on you. How's Jackie's mission going?"
"Jackie has successfully infiltrated the Phantom's ship and is posing as a member of his crew as we speak," Judy reported.
"Good work, Judy. At all cost, Phantom must never get his hands on the Sea Crown, because it'll be a total disaster if he does," the chief said.
"Understood, chief. I'll keep you posted," Judy said.
"Please do," the chief said, breaking contact. He sighed. "The Sea Temple Samiya. Jackie should keep Manaphy out of Phantom's greedy hands."
Meanwhile, deep in Hoenn's ocean, a blue egg with a red core is drifting through the ocean as a school of Remoraid circle around it.
A group of Corsola were hopping happily, but the egg bumped on one of the Corsola, causing one of them to stop, and the rest of the Corsola bumped into one another. The egg goes by a Qwilfish and flicked by a Clamperl opening its shell. It floats over an Octillery, 4 Krabby, a Cloyster, and 4 Shellder. A school of Luvdisc swam up to the egg and enclosed it in their numbers. The egg then bounced on the heads of a Horsea, a Seadra, and a Kingdra and onto a back of a Mantyke. It was swimming with a group of Mantyke and Mantine. The manta ray-like Pokémon swam away, frightened when a light suddenly came on.
Above the ocean, helicopters flew around, shining their searchlights on the ocean's surface. The helicopters are being piloted by pirates. One of the pirates looked on the radar screen. It was displaying the egg.
"I have target confirmation currently riding the tide and heading southeast," the pirate reported.
Back underwater, schools of Remoraid and Luvdisc swim away as a submarine is approaching the egg. It scares off a Staryu and a Krabby below. Corsola, Qwilfish, and Luvdisc swim away from the submarine as well, along with Horsea, Seadra, Kingdra, and Remoraid.
The submarine had some sort of symbol on the side. Sitting in the command chair is a pirate captain with the same symbol on his pirate captain hat. His coat is dark red and wire brown boots. He has a viridian beard tied by three belts and holds a staff in his right hand.
"Distance the target... 50, 40, 30," one of the pirates said.
"Recover, now!" The captain ordered.
"Roger," another pirate said. This pirate serves as his second-in-command for he wore a blue pirate outfit and has a blue bandana on top his head and a beard under his chin. A Chatot perched on top of his head.
"Recover, now, now, now!" Chatot repeated.
The submarine gets close enough to the egg and a hatch opens up. A mechanical arm goes out to encase the egg in a glass case and brings it back.
"Recovery complete. Surfacing to retrieve helicopter," the blue-clad pirate said.
"Galen," the captain said as he chair lowers down. Galen turned to him. "Remember, there are two types of men in this world. Those who have unlimited desires, and those who do not!"
The submarine resurfaces, making a flock of Wingull fly away. The helicopters intercepts the submarine.
Later, at a different room of the submarine, the egg is in a glass container as one goes over the data. The captain enters inside, so the crew stood up straight when he entered.
"Captain Phantom!" The crew said.
Phantom and Galen approached the egg when the stand raises. Phantom smiled as he gazes upon the egg.
"This is sure to give me that which I desire. Wait for me, my Sea Crown," Phantom said as he laughed. Just before he could touch the container, it was snatched right in front of him. He glared at the crewman holding the container. He has blonde hair under the bandana. "Who are you?!"
"You want this to satisfy your own selfish desires. Not happening," the crewman said.
"Seize him, now!" Phantom ordered.
"Seize him!" Chatot repeated as the crew went to apprehend him, but he easily dodged them just by jumping and he ran across the walls, much to the amazement of the pirates. He stood before the door Phantom and Galen entered through.
"Bye!" The crewman said before he ran out. The pirates then ran after him. He is making his escape through the corridor, and the pirates are in pursuit of him. He is sandwiched by another squad of the crew.
"Traitor!" One of the pirates shouted.
"Stop him!" Another pirate said.
"Excuse me, I'm not a traitor. I was never on your side!" The double agent said, taking off his goggles and grabbing a moving ladder of vertical conveyor. He jumped off and kicked the guardrail so that his pursuers can't find a way up without bumping their head on it. He took out his Rotom Phone and he makes contact. "Uh, hello there, headquarters, this is Jack Walker, checking in!"
"Well, well, Jackie, you're late," Judy said from her end.
"EOP, confirmed," Jackie said, making a turn to the mess hall kitchen.
"EOP? You mean equal opportunity of publication?" Judy asked. Jackie is emptying out his bag and its contents falls out.
"Egg of the Prince. Pretty cool name, huh?" Jackie asked.
"You just can't make up names," Judy said.
"Look, first I get stuck on this ship, scrubbing stinking floors for a solid month. Couldn't you think of nicer to say?" Jackie asked.
Over to the Pokémon Rangers HQ, Judy is a young woman with fair skin, magneta hair, and blue eyes. She wore a white top with a purple stripe in the middle, black pants, purple shoes, and square frame glasses.
"As soon as our work is through. There's a lot left. You man enough?" Judy asked.
Back on the submarine, Jackie was about to leave the kitchen.
"I don't know the meaning of the word 'failure'," Jackie scoffed when he is suddenly by the pirates.
"You don't? Would you like to borrow my dictionary?" Judy asked.
"No thanks," Jackie said, breaking contact. He jumped again and he ran across the stove, knocking some pots and pans off and on the heads of the pirates. He jumped off and ran out. He knocks over a basket of potatoes, making the pirates trip and fall whenever they tried to pursue him. He ran outside of the submarine, and the pirates have eventually spotted him.
"There he is!" One of the pirates shouted, chasing after him. He runs to the other side of the sub, jumping over a trapdoor that was opening to reveal Captain Phantom.
"I'll take that off your hands, now," Phantom said, throwing two Pokéballs. The Pokémon from inside are revealed to be a Pinsir and a Parasect. "Give it up."
"Give it up," Chatot repeated.
"I don't know the phrase of 'give it up'. Capche?" Jackie scoffed.
"Really? I'll lend you MY dictionary now," Phantom said.
"Keep it," Jackie said, taking out a device. He jumps before Pinsir could clamp him with its horns. He jumps up to the roof of the front part of the sub, just barely avoiding Pinsir's horns. He ran to the very edge of the boat, and he finds a few Mantine swimming about. He nods to himself. "Capture on!" A top-like device is launched and circles around a jumping Mantine in a light. He swings his device. The light fades around Mantine. "Capture complete." The pirates and the Bug-types are still in pursuit of Jackie. He turned and he grinned as he stared at the pirates with a smug expression. "Now, Mantine!" The Kite Pokémon jumps out of the water again, so Jackie ran down the submarine and jumped on its back. Mantine lands back in the water. Phantom, his crew, and his Pokémon are at the edge.
"No, you don't! Pinsir, Parasect! Hyper Beam!" Phantom ordered. Pinsir and Parasect fired Hyper Beam at the spot where Mantine dove. Their attacks didn't even touch Jackie or Mantine, so Mantine unleashed a bright light, making the pirates cover their eyes.
"That's Mantine's Confuse Ray!" Galen said. Phantom growled in anger as Chatot, Pinsir, and Parasect are greatly confused. "And it works great."
"The way he captured that Mantine could only mean that he's a Pokémon Ranger. And he thinks he can keep me away from the Sea Crown that I seek. You're welcome to try and stop me, Pokémon Ranger, but it'll be in vain. The Sea Crown will be mine, and so will Manaphy," Phantom said.
Jackie rode on Mantine's back, wearing an air mask over his mouth. He knew he had to find a safe place for Manaphy to go.
Present day...
It was a few days after the Hoenn Grand Festival had come to an end, so Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, Michael, Max, Lisia, Zinnia, Rei, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, Marill, and Aster wondered down the road, sweating underneath the scorching sun. Wes's ride eventually broke down due to how old it is. Not even water would cool down its engines, so Wes had to carry all of his Pokéballs inside a spare backpack Michael had for them. He was forced to abandon it in the middle of nowhere.
"Okay, something definitely went wrong because this doesn't look like the way to get to Ever Grande City," Sora said.
"I guess it's on me. I thought I knew where we were going," Rei said.
"It would have gotten smoother if my ride hadn't died on me," Wes said.
"I doubt it would have carried all of us in it, Wes," Rui said.
"We haven't seen a town or anything ever since we left Slateport City," May said.
"And the PokéNav's not picking up a signal at all," Max said.
"And neither are the Rotom Phones. We're just too far away to pick up a signal," Michael said.
"I'm so thirsty," Ventus said.
"I know, Ven. I am too," Karen said.
"We're all thirsty, and thinking about it is only making us more thirsty," Brendan said.
"Say, you Keybladers can use water magic, so can't you like make it rain or something?" Zinnia asked.
"That's easier said than done, because none of us can use a rain spell," Rei said.
"I thought about using some water magic, but I don't think I have the energy to even summon my Keyblade," Kris said.
"And Marill is too tired to use a proper Water Gun, and she had tried," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill agreed.
Sora sighed as he wipes away some sweat. Pikachu's ears suddenly perked up. Sora then saw what looks like a giant bubble out in the distance.
"Guys, I think it might be a mirage or I'm seeing a ball of water over there!" Sora exclaimed. The whole group also exclaimed when they saw it.
"I'm seeing it, too!" Kairi exclaimed.
"So am I!" Leaf said.
"I'm too thirsty to care if it's real or not, because I'm thirsty!" Ash said.
"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" Terra said.
With that said, the whole group ran towards the balls of water, hoping it'll satisfy their thirst. They stopped when they saw 3 Goldeen, a Seel, a Dewgong, 2 Barboach, a Whishcash, a Gorebyss, and 6 Wooper in the balls of water, while a Politoed is dancing around. With them is a young teenage girl with tan skin, light blue eyes and dark blue hair with back area tied in a bow shape and both sides being tied like pony tails. She wore a light/dark colored sleeveless shirt were the lower part opens up reviling her stomach and navel, a light green neck-less with a dark blue crystal in the middle and a light green bracelet on her right wrist, she also wears dark blue long pants with a white belt around it and a pair of light brown sandals.
"One, two, three, go!" The girl said.
"Wow, what's all that?" Xion asked.
"Looks like a water show," Aqua said.
"Hello!" Max called out. The girl turned to see the group. "Can we have some water?" Max is running up to her. Ventus and Sparky went with him.
"Yeah, because we're very thirsty," Ventus said.
"Sure, okay," the girl said.
"Alright!" Ventus and Max both happily exclaimed. Ventus and Max both started to have a sip when Gorebyss poked its head out, surprising them. The rest of the group ran up to her.
"Hi there. Who are you?" The girl asked.
"My name is Rei Sakura. Meet Sora, his sister Karen, and the boy with the spiky hair is Ventus, but we call him Ven, and the boy identical to him is Roxas. Also, Kairi, Xion, Riku, Naminé, Ash, Brendan, Ethan, Kris, Leaf, Lyra, May, Lisia, Terra, Aqua, Zinnia, and May's brother Max. We were on our way towards Ever Grande City when we got lost," Rei said as Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak, Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, Marill, and Aster went over to a Meditite and Medicham using their psychic powers to manipulate the water. Standing next to them are 2 Poliwag and a Poliwhirl. They greeted circus Pokémon when one of the Poliwag uses Water Gun and Medicham uses Psychic on the water to make take the shape of a Pikachu and wave to them. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Lyra, and Max walked up to them.
"Look at that," Naminé said.
"They're using Psychic," Max said.
"That explains a lot," Sora said.
"That's very neat," Xion said.
"It sure is. This is impressive," Kairi said. Kris took a good look at the girl and the other two people. She then puts two and two together.
"Wait, isn't this the Marina Underwater Pokémon Show, is it?" Kris asked.
"Yes, it is," the girl answered.
"And your name is Lizabeth and you're the star of the show," Kris said.
"Right again," Lizabeth said.
"I knew it!" Kris said.
"Hey, fill us in, Kris. Who are you talking about?" Leaf asked.
"The Marina group. Kris has been a huge fan of theirs for a long time. She used to talk my ear off about them nonstop," Ethan said.
"And I'm gonna guess she got you into it, too, huh?" Wes asked.
"I'll admit that she did. I just find it cute when she smiles very brightly when watching their performances. They're quite a hit worldwide," Ethan said.
"Ooh, I'm so excited, I just can't stand it! Meeting a famous star such as her! Can I have your autograph? Please!" Kris begged her.
"Krissy, why don't you calm down before you get an overload," Ethan said taking his girlfriend by the hand.
"Lizabeth, what's wrong?" An elderly man asked, approaching her. He has the same tan skin as her, but gray hair and a beard. He wore a forest green shirt, white shorts and black sandals. The other man who has long black hair. He wore a white shirt with gold streaks at the collar and gold buttons, black pants, and black shoes. The woman has a pink shirt with black patches on the chest and upper back, black pants and sandals. She has back hair loopies.
"Grandpa, it's okay. These people were on the road and got lost," Lizabeth said.
"You must all be her family," May said.
"Yes," Lizabeth's grandfather said.
"My name's Shep."
"I'm Kyle."
"I'm Meredith."
"Don't tell me that you're her mom," May said.
"Yes, I am," Meredith confirmed.
"Wow! You look young enough to be her sister!" May said. Her compliment causes Meredith to blush.
"Oh, go on, dear! I mean, go on!" Meredith said, smacking May on the back. She fell forward.
"May, are you okay?!" Brendan exclaimed, running up to his girlfriend.
"Yeah, I'm fine," May assured her boyfriend.
Everyone went inside the trailer as a clown wearing a yellow and white striped outfit and a star-shaped hat extends his arms and allowed the Wooper to walk across him as Politoed clapped its hands.
Inside the trailer, everyone were drinking the water provided for them, making them forget about their troubles.
"I so needed this," Michael said.
"So did I. That really hits the spot," Rui said.
"We all needed that," Aqua said.
"We appreciate your hospitality, Lizabeth," Rei said.
A Buizel affectionately licks Max, making him ticklish.
"I've never petted a Buizel before," Max said.
"Well, Buizel can't be found in the Hoenn region," Terra said.
"He's right. Buizel are very common in the Sinnoh region," Riku said.
"So that's a Buizel," Lyra said, taking out her Rotom Phone and scanned it.
"Marill," Marill said.
Buizel, the Sea Weasel Pokémon
Type: Water
Buizel uses its flotation sacs to keep itself afloat to keep watch for movements from prey. Its two tails allows it to swim through obstacles like seaweed.
"Buizel really likes you," Meredith said.
"Anybody want some more?" Lizabeth asked.
"I could use a second glass," Sora said.
"Me too," Kairi said.
"Same here," Karen said.
Buizel jumps on the bed and sniffed at a capsule, catching May's eye. Buizel's nose tapped on a green switch, showing the blue egg. May silently gasped when she saw it. Kyle pulls the curtain, hiding it.
"Excuse me," Kyle said.
"Your performance from earlier was very impressive. Just what kind of show is it?" Roxas asked.
"Would you like a sample?" Shep asked, walking in.
"Yeah!" The group said in unison.
"Then, we'll have to show you!" Shep said. The Marina Group takes the group to the next town and they're given a free sample of the performance they do. They use Meditite and Medicham to manipulate the water, captivating the gathering crowd. Water-type Pokémon are swimming around inside the balls of water as Kyle and Meredith dive in, wearing fish-like wetsuits. Everyone were awestruck by the performance.
Four Barboach are floating in smaller balls of water as the clown was performing a juggling act, wearing a Sharpedo get-up. As he's juggling a few balls, he uses the costume to "eat" the Barboach but then acts out as if he has indigestion and the Barboach pop out on the other side. This earned a laugh from some of the crowd.
Unknown to the performers, three men wearing sunglasses and dark gray hoodies sneak through the crowd, sneaking quietly.
Back in the trailer, Buizel looks at the case, and taps it, making it tip over. Buizel grabs the case and uses its feet to grab the bedsheets and fell over.
Back to the show, Lizabeth is wearing the same kind of wetsuit, but matching that of a Goldeen. She dives in the water. The crowd were at awe over how well she performed and how beautiful she looked. Politoed floats over to the group, so the Frog Pokémon grabs Pikachu and Angel, taking them inside. Soon, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak ,Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Marill floated inside the balls of water. Rei laughed when she watched on along with Wes, Rui, Michael, Lisia, Zinnia, and Aster.
Searchlights of different colors come on and shines on the family, the Water-type Pokémon, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Karen, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Max, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Azurill, Xipak ,Celeste, Blossom, Sparky, Thor, Eclair, and Marill, floating inside.
Meditite and Medicham began surrounding the large water sphere with energy, before it exploded into steam, with the performing family and the group at the bottom, and all the Water-type Pokémon in their bubbles, ending the show. Everyone waved their arms to the crowd.
After the show, the group returned to the trailer where Buizel is carrying the case. The Sea Weasel Pokémon dropped the case, but May quickly catches it. Her thumb accidentally hits the switch. She saw the blue egg once again.
Unknown to her, the men from earlier sees the egg in the case, looking through a pair of binoculars.
"There she is, boys. Our ticket to wealth," one of the men said.
"Uh, I don't know what the girl has to do with being rich. Oh, are we gonna kidnap her and ransom her for lots of money?" The other man asked in a dumb voice. This earned him a punch in the eye from the first man.
"No, you imbecilic buffoon. It's what the girl is holding that's going to make us rich," the first man said.
"Allow me, boss. We're going to explain it to you one more time, Mugsy. That egg looks like it be that of a very rare and very hard to find Pokémon," the third man said.
Just then, the clown came up from behind May and presses the switch on the case, hiding the egg and takes it from her. He waves his finger at the Sea Weasel Pokémon, telling it "no". He then takes off with the case. May watches the clown hand it over to Lizabeth.
"My granddaughter tells me that you're on your way to Ever Grande City. Are any of you competing in the Hoenn Pokémon League by any chance?" Shep asked.
"Yeah. Me and Sora are. We already earned our eight Gym Badges, and we need to get there before the opening ceremonies," Brendan said.
"Well, you're just in luck, because we're on our way there as well. We'll be more than glad to escort you there," Shep said.
"Thanks, we appreciate it," Sora said.
Meanwhile, the three men took out a laptop and they look up Phantom's profile on a mysterious website.
"And here it is. According to this, Phantom the Pirate is after that egg," the boss said.
"So we get the egg and we sell it to Phantom for a fortune," the third man said.
"That's using your head, Slick. Phantom will have to pay us for the trouble of bringing that egg to him, and we'll be richer than royalty," the boss said.
"Does that mean, I can have enough money to eat all the donuts in the world?" Mugsy asked.
"Sure. All the colors of the rainbow. We just need the egg first," the boss said, taking out his Rotom Phone.
Back in the trailer, Lizabeth places the case in a shelf.
Back outside, the boss is making a call to Phantom.
"Hello, Captain Phantom? It's regarding the item that you're looking for," the boss said.
"Are you speaking with the egg?" Phantom asked.
"Yes, that's the one. It's currently in the possession of a family of performers. Me and my associates are making plans on snatching the egg and presenting it for you," the boss said.
"Good. It pleases me to hear it," Phantom said.
"Glad to hear it, captain. You'll have the item very soon, and we'll be discussing a reward afterwards," the boss said.
"That depends on how successful you are," Phantom said.
"Of course, captain. We'll put a plan into motion. Goodbye, captain," the boss said, breaking contact. "We're in, boys."
"So what kind of reward are we talking?" Slick asked.
"Probably some treasure. Think of it. Gold, silver, diamonds, pearls, emeralds, sapphires, rubies, amethysts, topazes, the works!" The boss said.
"What do we do, boss?" Mugsy asked.
"It's quite simple, Mugsy. We follow them for now, and then move in when the time is right," the boss said.
That night, everyone were sound asleep in the trailer. Sora and Roxas snoring scared Lizabeth and her family at first, thinking that an aggressive Pokémon was nearby. Rei assured them that they're used to the snoring.
Buizel woke up and went over to the shelf where Lizabeth placed the case. Buizel presses the switch, showing the egg. When it opened, the moonlight shined down on the egg. The egg then gave off a bright red shine.
May opened her eyes and she found herself underwater, but she could somehow breathe under it. And she was surrounded by Water-type Pokémon swimming with her. They were Mantine, Mantyke, Wailmer, Qwilfish, Remoraid, Goldeen, Seaking, Chinchou, Lanturn, Luvdisc, Huntail, and Gorebyss.
May was at awe by what she was seeing. She laughed when a group of Remoraid swam around her, and she saw what looks like some kind of underwater temple. She then sees something else. It was some sort of Pokémon.
It is a small, blue, aquatic Pokémon with stubby feet and club-like arms that are longer than its body. It has a red gem on its chest and a yellow dot below the gem. Its onion-shaped head has a pair of long blue antennae, which have small spheres on the ends. Its irises are dark blue with yellow sclerae, and there are two yellow dots of "eyelash" markings extending from the eyes. This Pokémon is known as Manaphy. Manaphy started to swim away.
"Wait, don't go!" May called out. Manaphy kept on swimming away. May then sat up, screaming. "Don't go! Stop!" She realized it was only a dream. Everyone else was already awake. Lizabeth was sitting in front of a mirror, doing her hair when she saw May.
"What's wrong, May?" Lizabeth asked with concern.
"Nothing," May said. Lizabeth stood up.
"Morning," Lizabeth greeted.
"R-Right, good morning," May said.
Later, they have a late breakfast as Kairi is helping Shep with the cooking. They were baking a pizza.
"And in, out. Steady, Kairi," Shep said, placing the pizza on a plate.
"Right," Kairi said, holding it and bringing it to the table. Sora and Brendan were training for the Hoenn Pokémon League as the rest of the group were filling up the water tanks. "Freshly made pizza."
"That looks delicious," May said.
Shep was stepping out of the trailer.
"Down we go," Ship said, closing the door. He heads for the table, unaware of the three men making their move.
"Okay, you guys. This is our chance. Slick, go over it again," the boss said.
"Right. We get inside, poach the egg and scramble," Slick said.
"I like mine sunny side up," Mugsy said. This earned Mugsy a smack on the head.
"Just come on!" The boss said as he and his two henchmen stepped inside. "It's in here somewhere. Search the place and leave no stone unturned."
"Last night, I had the strangest dream," May said.
"Really?" Lizabeth asked.
"What was it about?" Aqua asked.
"I don't know the details, but there was a Pokémon I've never seen before, and it was traveling to some sort of underwater sea temple," May said.
"An underwater sea temple?" Max asked.
"Yeah. And I wanted to go there," May said.
"I'd like to go there," Ventus said.
"Yeah, but it was only a dream," Sora said.
"Yeah, but that won't stop us from dreaming about it," Karen said.
"Father, what do you think?" Kyle asked.
"I've heard of stranger things than that," Shep said.
"Tell me. Have you ever heard of the People of the Water?" Meredith asked.
"No," May answered.
"The People of the Water?" Kairi asked.
"Any idea who they are, Rei?" Terra asked.
"I only heard about them, but I don't know too much about them," Rei said.
"Why don't you two do the honors?" Ship asked. Lizabeth and her mother looked at each other and nodded.
"The truth is, I had the exact dream," Lizabeth said.
"You did?" May asked.
"You see, our family is made up of the descendants of the ones that have been called 'the People of the Water'," Meredith said.
"Right, and there's not that many of us left," Ship said.
"Wow," Leaf said.
"None of us had that dream," Zinnia said.
Inside the trailer, Mugsy opens the curtain and he laughed.
"I fellas! I found it! I found it!" Mugsy announced.
"Good work, Mugsy," Slick said.
"I guess you're IQ just went up a bit, Mugsy," the boss said as he and Slick touched it. It gave off a red glow. Streams come out of their bodies. One came out of the boss and into Slick, while the other came out of Slick and into Mugsy, and the last one came out of Mugsy and into the boss. Their pupils went blank for a moment and the red light fades.
"What was that about?" Mugsy asked with Slick's voice. They gasped when that happened.
"Mugsy, why do you sound like Slick?!" Slick asked with the boss's voice.
"I don't know, boss, but how come I can see me when I'm right here?" The boss asked with Mugsy's voice.
"Why in the name of my mother do you have my body, Mugsy?" Slick asked with the boss's voice.
"The same reason why Mugsy has my body and you got my body, boss!" Mugsy exclaimed with Slick's voice. The boss uses Slick's body to punch Mugsy's face.
"Let's get out of here before they come back!" Slick said with the boss's voice.
Back with the group, they were returning to the trailer after their meal.
"The People of the Water traveled the oceans and lived in harmony with the Water-type Pokémon. So in order to receive the ocean's blessings and to show their gratitude to the Pokémon, our ancestors have built what is known as the Sea Temple," Shep said.
"That must be the one in your dreams. You even got the name right," Lizabeth told May.
"Wow," May said.
"The People of the Water still sees the temple in their dreams," Meredith said.
"So it's like a memory," Lisia said.
"As much as I'm amazed, how is it that May is the only one who had it and the rest of us didn't?" Karen asked.
"That's a good question," Riku said.
"I think May and Max could be descendants of the People of the Water," Ash said.
"That makes a lot of sense. It like Sora being descended from a long line of knights," Naminé said.
"Or Kairi being a descendant of a sorceress with crystal magic," Ethan whispered to himself.
"Hurry up, you morons!" The boss's voice yelled. This alerted the group. They saw the three men. "And be careful with that case! It ain't worth peanuts if that egg is smashed!"
Just the clown ran up as the three men ran. They took off on a a balloon, with a cycle-driven propeller.
"What is that?" Sora asked.
"No! The case!" Kyle exclaimed.
"We gotta get it back!" Kairi said.
"You're right. Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!" Sora ordered.
"No!" The clown spoke up, surprising him.
"Tell me you're joking!" Sora said.
"Even clowns can get serious. Those men have something important, and we can't risk damaging it," the clown said. He looked around and he sees a wild Fearow perched on a branch of a nearby tree, preening its wings. "A Fearow. That'll do." He took out the same device. "Capture on!" The same top-like device come out, surprising Sora.
"Capture on?" Sora asked.
"Pika?" Pikachu asked as the clown swings his device around. It circles around Fearow the same way as Mantine.
"That movement, that could only mean one thing. That clown's a Pokémon Ranger," Lisia said.
"Fearow, lend me your power!" The clown said. Fearow flew off the branch.
"Pikachu, get on Fearow's back!" Sora said. Pikachu nods and jumps on the Beak Pokémon's back. Fearow flew towards the propeller and Pikachu jumped off.
"Hey, a Pikachu!" The boss said with Mugsy's voice with delight.
"Get off, you little yellow rat! Go on! Shoo! Go away!" Slick said with the boss's voice. Pikachu grabs the capsule from Slick's hands. "Slick, Mugsy, get the egg back!" Pikachu jumped back on Fearow's back before it pecked a hole in the balloon, making them scream as they go flying.
"Looks like we blew it, boss," the boss said with Mugsy's voice.
"Shut up!" Slick said with the boss's voice said.
Fearow flies back as Pikachu jumps off Fearow's back and into Sora's arms. The clown waves to the Beak Pokémon.
"You've been a great help, Fearow. Thank you," the clown said.
"That was some quick thinking, man," Sora said.
"That's a Capture Styler in your hand. You're a Pokémon Ranger, aren't you?" Lisia asked. The clown took off his hat and red nose, revealing himself.
"Jack Walker is my name. Call me Jackie please," Jackie said.
"Okay, I'm a bit lost here," Sora said.
"I think I'll explain. Pokémon Rangers are people who interact with Pokémon than that of Pokémon Trainers. What we just saw is how a Pokémon Ranger captures wild Pokémon," Lisia said.
"You mean, they don't use a Pokéball to catch a Pokémon?" Ventus asked.
"That's right, Ven. The job of a Pokémon Ranger is to use defend nature with the power of Pokémon," Lisia said.
"That's exactly right, little lady," Jackie said.
"Wow, I never heard of a Pokémon Ranger before," Ethan said.
"Me neither," Lyra said.
"Marill," Marill said.
"Then you've been living under a rock. Pokémon Rangers are well-known worldwide. Their base of operations are mostly in the Fiore, Almia, and Oblivia regions far from here," Lisia said.
"So what brings you here, Jackie was it?" Roxas asked.
"I'm glad you asked. I'm on an important mission. And the Marina Group is helping me out," Jackie said.
"Glad to help," Shep said.
"I'm sorry that we couldn't tell you," Lizabeth apologized.
"Don't apologize. We know a thing or two about secrets. Besides, you had your reasons," Rei said. Her apprentices nodded.
"One of those guys mentioned something about an egg. What were they talking about?" Terra asked.
"You see, this egg is that of a mythical Pokémon called Manaphy," Jackie said.
"Manaphy? You mean one of the Sea Guardians?" Aqua asked.
"The same," Jackie said.
"Sounds like you know quite a bit, young Aqua," Shep said.
"I've read something about the Sea Guardians before. This story goes back to Hisuian myth. Hardly anyone has ever seen a Manaphy or a Phione," Aqua said.
"Manaphy. Let's see," Kairi said, taking out her Rotom Phone and looked up Manaphy's data.
Manaphy, the Seafaring Pokémon
Type: Water
It is born with a wondrous power that lets it bond with any kind of Pokémon.
"Manaphy's such a cutie," Kairi cooed.
"Sure is," Xion, Karen, Kris, and Lyra agreed.
"My mission is to make sure this Manaphy is properly hatched safely. And then, deliver it safely to the Sea Temple," Jackie said.
"Wait a sec! May, is Manaphy the mysterious Pokémon you saw in your dream?" Brendan asked.
"Now that you mentioned it, it is! Manaphy had to be the one," May said.
"You think it's a coincidence?" Michael asked.
"I doubt it. There's gotta be a reason why May got the dream," Wes said.
"I agree. And I have a feeling those three men from earlier will be back or there could be someone else who have their eyes on the egg," Rei said.
The Pokémon's ears perked up, hearing something. Sora assumed it had to be Heartless, Nobodies, or Unversed again.
"What's wrong, Buizel?" Lizabeth asked.
"I think we got company," Sora said.
And he was right, because a couple of helicopters hovered over them. Galen looked through his binoculars and spotted the egg.
"Target is confirmed and within our sights," Galen said.
"Within our sights!" Chatot repeated. Galen took out and threw his two Pokéballs, letting out two Beedrill.
"They must have followed us all the way out here!" Jackie said.
"We've got to hurry and get back to the trailer!" Ship said. The two Beedrill fired Twineedle at the group.
"They're using Twineedle! Run!" Rei said.
Not needing to be told twice, the group started to run as the two Poison Bee Pokémon are pursuing them.
"We gotta split up!" Sora said.
With that said, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Roxas, Xion, and their partners went with Jackie on the left and the rest of the group went to the right.
"What about-" Max was cut off by Ventus.
"They're going to be fine, Max! Just run!" Ventus said.
Up above in one of the helicopters, Phantom grinned as they followed Sora, Kairi, Riku, Roxas, Xion, Jackie, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Xipak, and Celeste.
One of the Beedrill came in front of Shep. Rei took out a Pokéball and opened it. She lets out her Lucario.
"Lucario! Use Bone Rush!" Rei ordered. Lucario creates a bone out pure aura and uses it to clash against the attacking Beedrill's stinger.
"Remember, there are two types of people in this world. Those who are being chased, and those who are doing the chasing. I know which is better!" Phantom said. He jumped out of the helicopter. He and Galen chases after Sora, Kairi, Riku, Roxas, Xion, Jackie, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Xipak, and Celeste. "I go for the role of chaser every time!" He laughed. He and Galen cuts off their retreat. "Pokémon Ranger! Now, it is time you learn the phrase 'give up' once and for all."
"It's a shame you had to travel all that way," Jackie said, taking out a towel and puts it over the capsule. "I'm afraid you'll have to go home empty-handed!" They ran off.
"What?! You impudent-!" Phantom roared.
"What?! You impudent-!" Chatot repeated.
They ran behind a boulder. Phantom stops and waited to see which way he'd run. Jackie ran off, holding the towel.
"Come back here!" Phantom shouted.
"Come back here!" Chatot repeated.
Sora peeked his head out and looked around.
"All clear, guys," Sora said.
Sora, Kairi, Riku, Roxas, Xion, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Xipak, and Celeste ran off with Sora holding the container.
"How long do you think that guy will realize he was tricked?" Roxas asked.
"Not too long," Riku said.
Jackie kept on running until Phantom caught up with him by jumping in front of him.
"Gimme that! Now!" Phantom demanded, taking the towel. He grinned before he frowned, seeing Jackie was holding tennis balls instead.
"If you want it that badly, then here you go!" Jackie said, throwing one. Phantom smacked it away, but it bounced against the wall and bounced back in the face. Jackie tried to contain his laughter. Phantom was getting angrier with Jackie's antics.
"You're not getting away with this!" Phantom growled, lunging at Jackie, but he jumped out of the way and lands on top of a boulder. Phantom grabbed the boulder and started to lift it up, much to Jackie's surprise. Phantom threw the boulder, but Jackie jumped off and lands on his feet like a cat.
"Man, you're strong, Phantom. You've been taking special vitamins?" Jackie asked. Phantom glared at him so hatefully, steam spewed from his nostrils. He then realized Sora, Kairi, Riku, Roxas, and Xion were in possession of the egg.
Meanwhile, still holding the egg, Sora, Kairi, Riku, Roxas, Xion, and their partners were running as Brendan, May, and Max caught up with them.
"Sora, Kairi!" May called out.
"We gotta get out of here!" Brendan said.
"I'm with you!" Xion said.
"Let's go!" Riku said.
Just before they could go forward, Galen is right in front of them.
"You think you're so smart, do you?" Galen asked.
"Can't blame us for trying, can you?" Sora asked.
"You will hand it over, now!" Galen demanded.
"Not even if Tepig could fly," Riku said.
"Then, I'll take it by force! Beedrill! Twineedle!" Galen ordered.
"Eevee! Shadow Ball!" Riku ordered.
Beedrill fired Twineedle before Eevee fired Shadow Ball, resulting in an explosion. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Roxas, Xion, Brendan, May, Max, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Xipak, and Celeste started to run off.
"You're not gonna away that easily! Stop them with Sludge Bomb!" Galen ordered. Beedrill fired Sludge Bomb, stopping Sora and making him fall backwards and toss the container.
"The container!" Sora exclaimed.
"No!" Kairi cried.
"Catch it!" Roxas shouted.
May jumped high and caught it and lands on her feet.
"I got it!" May said.
"Run back to the trailer! We'll take care of this guy!" Sora said.
"Keep the egg safe, no matter what!" Riku added.
"Okay!" May said as she, Brendan, and Max ran off, holding the container. Riku took out a Pokéball and threw it.
"Go! Claydol!" Riku called out. His Pokéball opened and his Claydol emerged from inside. "Claydol! Hyper Beam!" Claydol fired Hyper Beam and struck the Poison Bee Pokémon on the mark.
Brendan, May, and Max continued to run with May still holding the container. The egg then started to glow again.
"What's going on?" May asked.
"It's glowing!" Max said.
"But why now?" Brendan asked.
Phantom caught up with them from the side.
"Now, give me that!" Phantom demanded.
"Give me that!" Chatot repeated.
Phantom jumped off, making Brendan, May and Max run again.
"Max, hurry!" May said.
They were now trapped.
"Now, that belongs to me," Phantom said.
"No! Manaphy doesn't belong to anyone!" May stated.
"Anything that has no owner belongs to me!" Phantom said, reaching for the egg. Max climbed up on Phantom's back and started to stretch his face.
"Don't you dare touch my sister!" Max yelled.
"Get your hands off that container, you old pirate fart!" Brendan yelled, pulling him back.
"Old pirate fart! Old pirate fart!" Chatot repeated.
They kept on struggling as the egg keeps on glowing, but the top of the capsule comes off and the egg goes flying. May tossed the container and dove in to catch the egg. The egg glows even brighter as Sora, Kairi, Riku, Roxas, Xion, Jackie, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Xipak, and Celeste arrived.
"May, give that to me!" Jackie demanded. Phantom grabbed Jackie from behind.
"It's mine!" Phantom exclaimed.
"It's mine!" Chatot repeated.
"I don't think so!" Roxas said, grabbing him.
The egg then gave off a blue glow as the egg has taken shape in May's hands. The glow fades and the newborn Manaphy opened its eyes and sees May looking back at it.
"Mana?" Manaphy asked. "Phy!" Manaphy began crying.
"It's okay. Yes, everything is going to be just fine. Just fine," May said, gently rocking Manaphy in her arms, much to the surprise to the others.
"The egg hatched," Jackie said.
"The egg hatched," Chatot repeated.
They all let go of Phantom and ran on over to May and Manaphy.
"But I was gonna use my own two hands to hatch Manaphy," Phantom sulked.
"Manaphy, Manaphy!" Chatot repeated.
The trailer pulls up above them. Michael stepped out.
"Guys! This way!" Michael said.
"Quick!" Jackie said.
"Right!" Sora said as he, Kairi, Riku, Roxas, Xion, Brendan, May, Max, Pikachu, Angel, Eevee, Xipak, and Celeste ran towards the trailer, but Phantom refuses to give up.
"Stop!" Phantom demanded. Jackie grabbed him.
"No, home is the other way!" Jackie said, throwing Phantom the other way. Galen stopped when he saw Phantom coming towards him. "That's it! Have a safe trip!" Phantom plowed into Galen and fell off a ledge. Jackie jumps back to the trailer before it takes off, leaving the pirates in the dust.
"I hate that Pokémon Ranger. Next time we cross paths, I'm going to choke him so very hard, his head will explode," Phantom growled.
Back to the trailer, May is doing what she can to calm Manaphy down.
"It's okay, sweetie. Don't cry. Don't cry," May said, gently rocking Manaphy. The Seafaring Pokémon then stopped crying and smiled. "There we go."
"Mana," Manaphy said.
"Manaphy is very cute," Kris cooed, feeling a little jealous.
"Manaphy must be tired," May said.
"Well, Manaphy was just born," Sora pointed out.
"May, how about I hold Manaphy for a bit?" Rei suggested.
"Okay," May said. She hands Manaphy to her master when Manaphy started to cry again.
"Not again!" Kairi said.
"May, I think Manaphy prefers you," Rei said, handing Manaphy back to May.
"There, there. There, there," May said, gently rocking Manaphy, calming it down.
"I think Manaphy seems to think you're its mother," Lizabeth said.
"She's right. Pokémon that hatches from their eggs often imprints that the first thing that they see is their mother," Naminé said.
"Azu, Azu," Azurill said.
"Kinda like with Kairi and Togepi. You remember, Pikachu?" Sora asked.
"Pika," Pikachu answered.
"So I'm a mom?" May asked.
"Seems that way to me," Lisia said.
Pikachu's ears perked up again.
"Pi?!" Pikachu asked.
"What's up with Pikachu?" Ventus asked as Sparky's ears perked up, too.
"I think Sparky hears it, too," Terra said.
"Pikachu," Thor said with his ears perking.
"I'll have a look," Aqua said as she and Eclair climbed up. She opened the hatch and saw the helicopters. "It's them again!"
"Those guys don't quit, do they?" Ventus asked.
"Once Phantom sets his sights on something, nothing will discourage him from getting it," Jackie said.
One of the helicopters, Phantom gives the order.
"Stop the trailer now!" Phantom ordered.
"Stop the trailer now!" Chatot repeated.
The helicopters launch grappling rods to keep themselves affixed and to slow the trailer down.
"Quick! Everyone move up to the front!" Shep said.
Not needing to be told again, everyone rushed back to the front as Brendan grabbed May, still holding Manaphy as Jackie is the last one to come aboard. Ship gets out last as he unlatches the trailer. This sends the helicopters flying backward, momentarily losing control as the trailer careens off a cliff. The choppers manage to cut their grappling lines and regain control.
Everyone is relieved by how they managed to lose the pirates and make their escape.
"That was a narrow escape," Ash said.
"It sure was. I thought we were in trouble," Leaf said.
"Manaphy, phy," Manaphy chirped.
"It's okay, Manaphy. Everything is going to be fine," May said.
"I guess it's not easy being a mom," Max said.
"Thanks for the words of wisdom," May deadpanned.
"Something tells me that we haven't seen the last of those guys," Wes said.
"I agree. They're not gonna be too far behind for long," Rei said.
"Is there somewhere we can get to and ditch those pirates?" Ethan asked.
"There is. And it's not too far from here," Kyle said.
"We should already be near it," Shep added.
Meanwhile, over to some ancient ruins the three men regained consciousness and they've found themselves back to normal.
"Oh, my head hurts," Mugsy said.
"It feels like it was a bad dream. Especially with me being in Mugsy's body," Slick said.
"Get up, you two. We gotta find that trailer and get the egg," the boss said.
"Uh, it shouldn't be too hard, boss, because it's heading this way," Mugsy said, pointing to the truck coming.
"They're heading our way," Slick said.
"Phantom's coming this way, too, boys," the boss said, seeing the helicopters.
The group stepped out of the truck and into the ruins. They have their Meditite using Flash. Phantom and his crew were not far behind.
Kyle holds up his bracelet to a red jewel in the wall. It revealed a cyan color, so Kyle moves it like it was some of combination. The wall opens up.
"Do you have Water-type Pokémon?" Shep asked.
"Yeah," Sora, Kairi, Riku, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Michael, and Rei answered.
"In case, it's your turn," Shep said.
With that said, the group heads inside and the doorway closes from behind. They see why it was their turn.
Back to Phantom and his crew, they followed the trail they went to the wall.
"A dead end," Galen said.
"Watch," Phantom said, taking out the same kind of bracelet. He unlocks the lock with the same combination and entered inside. He saw that there was a canal. And much to his disappointment, he didn't have any means of pursuing them. "These ruins were left by the People of the Water. Which means that is who they are."
Up ahead, Manaphy swims underwater as Sora is riding his Swampert with Roxas, Karen, and Ventus as Kairi is riding her Milotic along with Xion. The Pikachu and Eevee are riding on their partners' heads. Ash is riding a Huntail, Leaf is riding a Sealeo, Riku is riding on his Sharpedo along with Naminé. Lyra is holding on to Marill, Kris is holding on to Wani-Wani, Brendan is riding on his Gyarados, May is holding on to Squirtle, Rei is holding on to her Kingdra as Max is holding on to Buizel. Wes is holding on to Mantine, Rui is holding on to Qwilfish, Michael is holding on to his Walrein. Terra, Aqua, Lisia, Zinnia, and Aster are riding on Michael's Lapras. Kyle is riding his Dewgong, Lizabeth riding her Gorebyss, Meredith is holding on to her Poliwhirl, Shep is holding on to a Seaking, and Jackie holding on to Politoed. Manaphy jumped out of the water in a playful manner.
They soon come up to another wall, which is decorated with murals that tell a legend. They called their Pokémon back once they've reached the shore.
"It's exactly what I saw in my dream," May said.
"It's the temple. Samiya," Lizabeth said.
"Samiya?" Sora asked.
"Within the temple, there is a treasure called 'the Sea Crown'," Meredith said.
"The Sea Crown?" Wes asked.
"Many thieves have appeared over the years, attempting to steal the Sea Crown," Shep said.
"So to protect the treasure and the temple itself, the People of the Water set traps within the temple," Meredith said.
"What kind of traps?" Max asked.
"Probably darts that's rich with poison," Karen said.
"Chu," Blossom said.
"I hope not," Sora said.
"The Sea Temple cannot be seen by the eyes of the mortals," Kyle said.
"How's that?" Leaf asked.
"It blends in with the water," Kyle answered.
"Once it was carried away by the tides," Shep said.
"And since then, the temple has drifted along the ocean continuously, making it impossible to find," Kyle said.
"However, the temple appears now only at the time of the eclipse of the moon. That's when the when the People of the Water held their festival, honoring the Water-type Pokémon," Shep said.
"I'm sure that's interesting, but how exactly do you find something that can't be seen?" Roxas asked.
"Especially when it's constantly moving around?" Xion asked.
"We think Manaphy can," Lizabeth said.
"Mana!" Manaphy chirped, jumping out of the water.
"The People of the Water originally built the temple exactly the same place where the Manaphy lived," Lizabeth said.
"Even after the temple began to move about freely, all Manaphy have been born with a kind of homing instinct which allows them to locate the temple at anytime," Shep said.
"That explains why that Phantom guy wants Manaphy that badly," Ash said.
"And we can't let him get Manaphy," Riku said.
"Right," the rest of the group said, agreeing with Riku.
"We must protect the Sea Temple at all costs," Shep said.
"We must also protect Manaphy at all costs, especially from Phantom," Jackie said.
Phantom and his crew walked out of the ruins, angered by how Manaphy slipped through his fingers. He turned to the truck.
"Search inside," Phantom said.
"Search inside," Chatot repeated.
"Yes, sir!" The crew answered, heading for the truck. The boss, Slick, and Mugsy approached Phantom.
"Captain Phantom. It's nice to officially meet you face to face," the boss said.
"Yes, I know you. You're the men who tipped me off about the whereabouts of Manaphy," Phantom said.
"Yes, sir. We were," the boss said.
"Give them their reward," Phantom said.
"Sir," Galen said, taking out a briefcase and presented them some pirate treasure. "This should tickle your fancy, gentlemen."
"This'll do nicely," the boss said.
"Pretty," Mugsy said.
"Take it and go before we change our minds," Galen said.
"A pleasure doing business with you, captain," the boss said. "Let's go, boys."
"Right with ya, boss," Slick said.
"Yeah, right behind ya, boss," Mugsy said.
The helicopters takes flight, continuing their pursuit of Manaphy.
"Sir, I don't see any reason why you would give away the treasure belonging to your ancestors," Galen said.
"There is only one treasure that I care about; it's the Sea Crown. My family's treasure is nothing but lunch money in comparison," Phantom said.
"Lunch money in comparison," Chatot repeated.
"Of course," Galen said. He goes over the radar to build up a map inside the ruins. "It seems the People of the Water have elaborated a system of water routes for their trade. So it's difficult to determine which pinpoint their exit."
"They're now heading for the Sea Temple, so let us go and for them to fall into our trap," Phantom said.
"Our trap," Chatot repeated.
"I'll get the Sea Crown if that's the last thing I do," Phantom said.
Back with the group, they're riding in canoes with Manaphy jumping out of the water again.
"I want to thank all of you for your help, but once we get out of this grotto, I'm leaving. You got too involved as it is," Jackie said.
"How come?" Karen asked.
"Because this has to be a Pokémon Ranger's job," Jackie said.
"He's right. We shouldn't get involved any further. And we still have to reach Ever Grande City as soon as possible," Rei said.
They all got out of the grotto and onto the shore. Manaphy is placed in a basket, sleeping soundly.
"Manaphy's fast asleep," Lyra said.
"After the day we just had, it's no wonder," Ash said.
"And not to mention, Manaphy is only a baby," Zinnia said.
"Whismur," Aster said.
Shep spotted a ship out in the distance. He smiled as he knew what it is.
"They're here! That's my ship alright! The Blue Lagoon!" Shep said.
"That's your ship, Shep?" Brendan asked.
"Right. I traveled the whole world on that ship when I was a young man," Shep said. The ship docked as Lizabeth, her family, and Jackie were boarding. May was looking Manaphy tearfully, knowing it was inevitable. Shep was addressing his crew. "You kept my ship in perfect shape for all these years. Fell free to use it anytime."
"But we wanna go with you," one of the men said.
"There's still good times left to share," another man said.
"All of your kind words are plenty," Shep said.
"Captain!" The crew said.
"We'll have a drink upon my return. Take care," Shep said, boarding the ship.
"Safe trip," the crew said, crying.
The ship started to take sail.
"Thanks for the lift," Sora said.
"No problem! Good luck in the Hoenn Pokémon League," Lizabeth said, waving goodbye.
"Manaphy," May tearfully said.
"It's hard to believe it's over already," Lisia said.
"There's so much more I wanted to learn about Manaphy," Max said.
"There's nothing more we can do at this point. It has to be done without our help," Rei said.
"Yes, Master," Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Roxas, Xion, Ash, Leaf, Ethan, Kris, Lyra, Brendan, May, Wes, Rui, and Michael said in unison.
Over to Manaphy, it begins crying. May hears Manaphy's cries and ran over to the edge as Brendan goes with his girlfriend.
"Being young means you never turn away from adventure," the first crewman said. They looked at the three men.
"What are you afraid of? This is your chance," The second man said.
"If you wanna go, then go," the third man said.
"There's nothing worse than regret, kids," the first man said.
"You're right," Brendan said.
"May, Brendan," Rei said.
"Master, I know you said we shouldn't get more involved, but-" May said before she was cut off.
"Don't explain. You should follow your hearts," Rei said. May smiled.
"Thank you, Master," May said.
"Stop the ship!" Brendan shouted.
"Wait, I wanna come, too!" May called out.
Lizabeth, Shep, Meredith, and Jackie were surprised to see the group running along the dock.
"Brendan, May?" Lizabeth asked.
Manaphy placed one of its antennae on Jackie's head and the other one sends out a pinkish red energy on the ocean's surface and it struck Sora once he caught up.
"Hey, what's going on?!" Sora exclaimed.
"Sora!" Rei exclaimed.
"This is weird! What in the world is happening to me?" Sora asked with Jackie's voice.
"Pika, Pi?" Pikachu asked.
"Jackie?" Ethan asked.
He ran towards the edge and waved his arms.
"Stop that ship! You forgot me!" Sora shouted with Jackie's voice.
Back on the ship, Manaphy ceases its power.
"Hey, this is weird! What just happened?" Jackie asked with Sora's voice.
"This won't work," Shep said, taking off.
He looked at Manaphy in his body.
"Did you do this, little guy?" Sora asked.
"Mana, Mana," Manaphy said.
Back to the shore, he sighed.
"What are you gonna do?" Sora asked through Jackie's voice. Pikachu climbed up on Sora's shoulders and petted the Mouse Pokémon on the cheek.
And we're gonna have to end here for now. Our heroes have taken a slight detour from their journey towards Ever Grande City for right now, but another adventure has just begun. Where could Samiya, the Sea Temple be currently located? How will Manaphy be able to find it, and will they keep Manaphy out of the evil hands of Phantom the Pirate? Find out as we continue on.
