Elijah opened the front door to find Stefan Salvatore there. "Stefan, how can I help you?"
"I want to see Elena," Stefan said before forcing his way inside. He'd found out today that Klaus was now living with Elena. He wasn't going to let that continue. It was bad enough with just Elijah. He wasn't going to let the girl he loved live with the man who had wanted her dead.
Elijah could've stopped him, but didn't, deciding he wanted to find out exactly what this boy thought he was doing. "Yes, please come in, Stefan."
"Where's Elena?" Stefan demanded to know.
"Elena isn't receiving visitors, which I know you're aware of by now," Elijah told him.
"I don't care. I'm going to see her," Stefan said before moving to go through the house.
Elijah got in his way and pushed him into a wall. "You're pushing me, boy. Who do you think you are showing up to my home and demanding to see my daughter? The answer is no. You need to leave before you're unable to do so on your own."
"No! I know your psycho brother is staying here! I'm not going to let Elena live under the same roof as him," Stefan said.
"You have no say in the matter. What goes on under my roof is none of your concern," Elijah said.
Just then, Finn and Klaus entered the room. "What the bloody hell is the commotion. Ah, Stefan," Klaus said.
"Do I know you?" Stefan asked with a frown.
"Indeed, although, I'm afraid I had to relieve you of your memory of it," Klaus said.
"This is the vampire who thinks he's worthy to date our niece?" Finn asked as he moved closer to the boy.
Stefan backed up a bit.
"Stefan, these are my brother's Finn and Niklaus. Niklaus, Stefan seems to take exception to the fact that I'm allowing you access to Elena," Elijah said in a cold tone.
"Really?" Elijah asked before smirking evilly at Stefan. "Well, that's too bad. I'll see my niece whenever I please. You, however, will leave before I tear your legs off.
Just then, Elena came into the room from downstairs. "What's going on? What the hell are you doing here?"
"I'm getting you out of here! I'm not leaving you with these people anymore," Stefan said before attempting to approach her.
Both Finn and Klaus stepped directly in his path and got into his personal space. "How did I never realize you were this stupid before?"
"Elena, go back upstairs please," Elijah instructed.
"No," Elena said. She wasn't even registering the fact that she'd just told her father no. She barely registered his presence at all. She was unbelievably pissed off right now. Stefan had literally forced himself into her home and thought he was going to take her away from her family.
Elijah raised an eyebrow and regarded his daughter sternly. "Pardon?"
Elena pushed her way past her uncles and got into Stefan's face. "What the hell is wrong with you?! You force your way into my home and disrespect my family?!"
"I am trying to protect you," Stefan insisted.
"I don't need your damned protection!" Elena exclaimed. She was so tired of hearing how Stefan wanted to protect her. She didn't need protection, not from him. If she ever needed protecting, she had a father for that. "This is my family!"
"No, they're not! They're monsters! Klaus wanted to kill you. He kidnapped you, and now Elijah's punishing you for it," Stefan said.
Klaus made a move to get in between them, but Elijah pulled him back. He decided to let Elena try to handle this herself. If he thought she needed him to, he'd intervene, but she clearly had things she needed to say to Stefan.
"No, he didn't kidnap me. I got into the car with my uncle because I wanted to. I wanted to help him. I knew what the consequences would be when I did that. I was prepared to face them, and now I am facing them. And none of this has anything to do with you! You come into my home and disrespect my family! You call them monsters! I'm done with this, Stefan. I will not continue to defend my family to you. I will not listen to you badmouth my dad. It's at the point where I don't even want to see you anymore," Elena told him.
"You don't mean that," Stefan said.
"Yes, I do. In fact, I was just saying to Jenna the other day that it was the only good thing about being grounded. Even Jenna agrees that you're out of line, and she liked you," Elena said.
"If Jenna knew the truth, she…"
"She does know. Elijah told her. Back to the point though, I can't do this anymore. Dealing with you has become a chore and I can't handle it anymore. I'm done, Stefan. We're through," Elena said firmly. Jenna had been right. If she constantly found herself not wanting to be around Stefan, it wasn't worth it. This was the last straw. Stefan didn't get to come into her home and demand that she leave. He didn't get to call her father and uncles monsters.
"Elena, no. You don't mean that. They're making you say this," Stefan said.
"I believe the girl said, you're through," Finn said before grabbing the boy by the collar and dragging him to the door. He then essentially chucked him outside before coming back in and shutting the door.
Elijah went over to his daughter and put an arm around her. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm kind of relieved actually. All Stefan has brought to my life lately is stress. You and Aunt Jenna were right. I don't deserve to be treated this way," Elena said.
"Absolutely not. I'm glad you understand that," Elijah said.
"I'm sorry about this. I accidently let it slip that Uncle Nik was staying here," Elena said. She had told him that day at school. He had been upset, but she didn't think he was stupid enough to show up to her house and attempt to force her out with him.
"Do not apologize for him. Stefan is responsible for his actions, not you. You did nothing wrong. It's quite the opposite. I'm very proud of you for the way you handled it," Elijah told her.
Elena nodded and took a deep breath to come down. When she did, she replayed the whole incident in her mind again, including when she told her dad no when he asked her to leave the room. "Oh, Dad, I didn't mean to disobey you earlier."
Elijah chuckled. "I wondered when you'd remember that."
"I didn't mean to tell you no. I was just so angry at Stefan. I wasn't paying attention to what I was saying or who I was talking to," Elena said.
"Yes, I figured that out. It's alright. Just don't make a habit of it," Elijah told her. He certainly wasn't going to punish her for it. He'd realized pretty quickly that it wasn't intentional.
"I guess I should get back to my homework," Elena said.
"Have you finished everything you have due for tomorrow?" Elijah asked.
"Yeah, but I still have makeup work to complete," she said.
"You can save it for tomorrow. Why don't you go relax? I know you say you're fine, but tonight was still difficult, I'm sure. Take the rest of the night to process it," Elijah told her. There was every possibility that this would hit Elena later, once the anger went away.
Elena nodded before heading up the stairs.
"I told you the problem would resolve itself," Elijah told his siblings with a smile.
"Do you think this is the end of this boy? Because he seems quite stupid. I'm not sure he's going to accept Elena's decision," Finn said.
"Then I will deal with him," Elijah said before leaving the room.

Stefan stormed into the living room of the boarding house, where his brother was pouring himself a drink.
Damon looked at his brother. One look told him that his brother was pissed. It was much more than just his usual brooding. "You look like you could use one of these. What's got you so pissed?"
"Elena broke up with me," Stefan said.
"Ouch. What did you do?" Damon asked. He'd actually backed off on the whole Elena thing. It was unnerving to think about the fact that someone he had feelings for was the daughter of the first woman he loved. He just couldn't be around her after that.
"I went to her house to get her away from those people! Elijah has Klaus living with her now! I can't let her be under their roof anymore. Elena got mad and dumped me. I'm sure it's Elijah and Klaus making her do it though," Stefan said.
Damon shrugged. "Not much you can do."
"No, I'm not letting this continue! I have to get Elena out of there! Klaus is dangerous. They're all dangerous," Stefan said.
"We're talking original vampires here, Stefan. They're more powerful than us. You told me yourself that Elijah is strong as hell," Damon said.
"I don't care! I'm not letting them put Elena in danger, or worse corrupt her! She already sympathizes with them," Stefan said.
"And how are you going to do that? You're not a match for them. No one is," Damon said.
"That's not necessarily true. There's another one like them, their father. Elena mentioned him once. I think she wanted me to feel sorry for Elijah and Klaus. He's stronger than the rest," Stefan said.
"Wait a second. Your plan to stop original vampires is to go find an even more powerful original vampire," Damon said as though it was ridiculous. People called him the stupid one. That was a really idiotic plan. Then again, a few months ago, he might have considered it himself. However, that was before he found out Elena was Katherine's daughter and realized just how creepy the whole thing was.
"No, he hates the others, especially Klaus. He might agree to kill them. Then Elena would be safe," Stefan said.
"And hate your guts," Damon added. Damon didn't spend time with Elena anymore, but he'd heard from Stefan that she cared very much for her biological father.
"She'll come around. I just have to get her away from them," Stefan said.
"And how are you going to find this dude?" Damon wondered.
"John Gilbert. He knows everything about vampires. He might know how I can find Elena's grandfather," Stefan said.
"Good luck," Damon said before taking a sip of his drink.
"You're not going to help?" Stefan asked. His brother had been all about protecting Elena before Elijah came into the picture. He was in love with Elena. It used to drive him nuts. However, after he found out about Katherine, Damon had basically washed his hands of Elena. Ironically, now was when Stefan needed him to be obsessed with her again.
"Nope. I pulled myself out of this mess because of the Katherine aspect. It's too weird. And clearly Elena doesn't want your help. I'm not about to go pissing off original vampires. But good luck," Damon said before heading out of the room.
