My Little Girl-Ch 19
Gertrude looked at Rosemary and said, "what do you think of Ms. Garcia, do you think that she's a fit parent for Jasmine?", Rosemary quickly said, "oh yes mam, she's one of the best mothers I've ever had the honor of knowing, I have no doubts about her ability to take care of the child, none at all", the judge then said, "thank you mam, you may be seated".
After Rosemary sat down she looked at Penelope and said, "mam can you tell me about how you feel about the child?", Penelope said, "I love her, she's my daughter, I couldn't love her more if she were my own child, she's the sweetest little girl, she's always smiling, she's the best thing that has ever happened to me".
The judge then looked at Derek and said, "Mr Morgan, how do you feel about the little girl in question?", Derek said, "that's easy your honor, i love her, she's an angel, she's daddy's little girl, I love that little girl like she's my own, her along with her mother, Penelope are the lights of my life".
Christopher sighed and whispered something to his attorney who once again said, "Mr. Morgan, how long have you and Ms. Garcia been engaged?", Derek said, "around 2 1/2 months", he said, "and how long have the two of you been sleeping together?", Hotch said, "what does that have to do with anything?", Gertrude said, "yes I would like to know the answer to that as well".
Daniel said, "well the child is almost a year old and should not be in an environment where people are engaging in sexual intercourse", Gertrude listened as Hotch said, "so you want to know how long my client has been sleeping with her fiancee, what about your client, are you trying to tell me and this court that he hasn't had any relationships in the past year?", Daniels said, "I I I don't see how that has any bearings on this case".
Gertrude said, "if your clients sexual relationships don't have any bearings on this case, then neither should Mr. Morgan and Mr. Garcias, we are not here to discuss their sex life, we are here to ensure Jasmine is in the best home possible and from what I see she is".
Christopher said, "but she's my daughter, I should have the chance to spend some time with her", Penelope said, "your honor?", Gertrude looked at her and said, "yes Ms. Garcia?", Penelope said, "Jasmine will be a year old tomorrow and we are having a birthday party for her at her grandparents house and we would like to invite you, Christopher and his attorney to join us".
Gertrude smiled and said, "thank you Ms. Garcia, that would be a great opportunity for the father to get to see his child and for the court to see how she responds to him", she looked at Christopher and said, "what do you think, are you and your attorney willing to go?", Christopher said, 'yes, yes I would".
Penelope said, "I'll happily give you the address", he smiled and said, "thank you", Gertrude then said, "well then this court stands in recess until tomorrow", Penelope wrote down Fran and Dave's address for both Christopher and for the judge before the hearing ended.
When Hotch, Derek and Penelope stepped outside the family walked over to them to find out what had happened, they were soon pulled from their conversation by Christopher who said, "thank you for the invitation, we will see you tomorrow", Penelope smiled and said, "the party begins at noon".
Christopher smiled and said, "well then, we'll see you at noon", Derek wrapped his arm around his future bride and said, "we'll see you then", they all then stood there watching as Chris and his lawyer walked away. Rosemary said, "be weary of him, he's up to something", Hotch said, "I agree, he's up to something and this is what we need to do".
The family and Rosemary gathered around and listened to what was saying and when he was done they all smiled and nodded their heads yes in agreement, they would make sure that Jasmines party went off without a hitch so that way Christopher would not have any grounds to say that Penelope was unfit in any shape, form or fashion.
Before leaving the courthouse Penelope invited Rosemary to the party, she happily accepted because she didn't want to miss any of the action that they were afraid was going to happen tomorrow, Hotch hoped that he was wrong about Christopher and his attorney but something inside him told him that he was right but only time would tell what tomorrow would bring.
Penelope smiled and said, "we'll fill everybody in once we get home, I can't wait to see my baby", Fran said, "me either honey, me either" as they filed out of the courthouse and made their way toward their waiting cars.
