Caroline's POV

"Are you sure you want this? After all that happened between us?" He angrily asked me.

"Yeah... I'm sorry, but I can't love you. I just can't."

"Oh, It's ok. It's normal not to love someone who gives you everything."

"It's not about that Tyler . It was nice at the beginning, but can't you see that we aren't good for each other? And you cheating on me? It's awful. I'm sorry Ty but I can't do this anymore..."

"I want you to pack your things and get the hell out of my apartment!" he yells at me, and now I'm scared. Why is he angry? I just said the truth.

"Can you not yell at me?"

"If you don't get out of here right now, I'll..."

I was so scared, I disappeared in the bedroom and locked myself there.

"I'm going out!" He yells.

"When I come back, I don't want you here anymore. Leave the keys on the table, and Caroline, yes, I cheated on you. I was almost feeling guilty, but you know what? You're still the same neurotic, insecure, shallow, and naive girl. Thank you for setting me free. Now I feel really good!"

I hear him slamming the door and my tears won't stop at this point ! Why does this always happen to me ? Why am I never the one ? And why can't someone love me for who I am and not just my body ?

I pack all my stuffs and clothes. After 30 minutes I am ready, but where should I go? I can't go home. Mom will go crazy if she finds out that Tyler kicked me out of the house ! I don't want to call Kat because I don't want to bother her and Elijah and Bonnie is not in town. Wonderful! I put my suitcase in my truck and I drive to the publishing. It's just 7 p.m. so the security is there. I arrive there and I take the little suitcase and enter the building.

"Good evening Miss Forbes . What are you doing here?"

"Hi George. Um ,Well I've some pending works to do and it will take time so I'll be spending my night in the office." I lied.

"Ok Miss Forbes."

"Thank you, George." I take the elevator to the 6th floor. I enter my office and lock the door. I'm happy because I have a comfy sofa in my office, some pillows and a blanket. It's perfect for a nap, right? I change into my pajamas and then remove my makeup. I lay down on the sofa and think about this day. Today, my boss offered me a job in another town, and I decided to leave to find my happiness in a new place. After this, I broke up with my boyfriend, and it doesn't hurt. Why? Because I just realized that I didn't love him and he didn't love me. I have a great life; what can I say?

I wake up scared because I don't know what time it is. I stand up and see Elijah at the door.

"Good morning, Caroline." He says amused.

"Oh my God, Elijah . What are you doing here?" Stupid question Care.

"I think that's my question. Why are you sleeping here?" Oh, great. I can't tell him the truth because he will tell the news to Kat. But if I lie, he won't believe me.

"Well..."

"I'm waiting for an answer."

"Ok... Yesterday night I broke up with Tyler and he kicked me out. And I didn't tell anyone about this. If I would've told my mom about this, she would've gone crazy. I didn't call Katherine because I didn't want to bother you and I preferred to spend the night here. But please, don't tell Kat about this. She will go crazy. Please, Elijah."

"Oh, you were right, darling." She entered my office.

"Elijah honey, can you leave us alone, please? I want to talk to my friend."

"Yes, but end your talk fast because the work starts in 15 minutes." He leaves and I know exactly what she will say.

"I was sure he wasn't good for you, Care!"

"I know and I'm happy. Tyler's words still hurt, but it doesn't matter anymore. I'm coming with you to New Orleans, and I will start a new life there."

"Are you serious?"

"Yes, I'm serious. I've talked with my mom, and she said I should find my happiness. I know there has to be one guy out there who is perfect for me."

"I'm so happy to hear that! But until we leave, come stay with us. You don't have to be alone."

"I can't, Kat..."

"Why?"

"Because I don't want to bother you and Elijah, you two have done so much for me. I can't come to your house and stay there. I already owe you both."

"Oh, c'mon! You won't bother us. I'd be happy to have you there. Elijah can be boring sometimes." We both laugh.

"Ok, ok. I'm coming. But just because I love you so much."

"Aw, I love you too Carebear!" She hugs me. This is another reason why I love her. She's a good friend and I don't want to lose her ever again. After a few hours of work, we're finally done for today.

"Care, are you ready?"

"Yeah coming".

"Perfect! Let's go!" We go to my car and I start driving to their apartment. We arrive after 45 minutes and take the elevator to the last floor.

"Where is Elijah?" I ask as we enter with two of my suitcases in the elevator. "He has something to do. But he'll be home for dinner." We arrive at their apartment, and she leads me to the guest room. It's a large room with a large bed and there is a bathroom.

"Are you sure you're ok with me being here?"

"More than okay . Like I said, I like to have you around me."
