Caroline's POV
First day of work at a new place, Am I excited? Hell yes! I can't wait to meet my new colleagues. I only know Katherine, Elijah, and... Klaus? But he doesn't matter to me. He's just a wealthy kid and I don't want to encounter him.

I just arrived at work and I saw Katherine at the reception.
"Hi there!" She says with a big smile on her face.
"Why are you so happy?"
"Because it's my first day at work, in a new place."
"And I think someone is already arguing." I hear shouting from Elijah's office.
"You should get used to it. They argue a lot at home too."
"But why?"
"As you saw... Klaus is an impossible and a very complicated guy. He was comfortable with having money from his brother, but now, Elijah has had enough of his behavior."
"Oh... So... What are we doing now?"
"The boxes from Mystic Falls are here, so you can organize your office. We'll start the real work tomorrow. Today is just a day of settling in and you have few boxes in your office, so have fun in organizing it."
"Thank you! See you at lunch?"
"Yes." I smile and go to my office. I have a lot of work to do because I have two full boxes of books that I need to put in my bookshelf. I leave my bag on the chair and open the first box. I take out all of my books and start putting them in the bookshelf. After I finish with that, I open the second box and do the same with the other books. Then, I open the last box and the first thing I find in it is a picture of me and Tyler. I take the picture out of the frame, break it, and throw it in the trash bin. Then, I go to the kitchen where I find Klaus.
"What are you doing here?"
"Excuse me?" Oh, this boy is so rude. I can't believe he is Elijah's brother. They are so different.
"What are you doing here?" he repeats the question.
"Well, I'm working here."
"I mean, what are you doing in the kitchen!? Is that hard to understand?!"
"Whoa, stop being rude, Niklaus."
"It's Klaus for you!" he screams.
"Don't scream at me you asshole ," I said as I slapped him.
"If you are not in a good relationship with your brother, it won't help to be mad at other people. Especially if you don't know them." I threw away the pieces of the picture and went to the door, but he took my hand and dragged me closer to him.
"Who the fuck are you to tell me what to do?! You know nothing about me."
"I'm obviously not your toy. Let me go!" He let go of my hand.
"If you touch me again, I will tell your brother that you assaulted me! So, if you want money from Elijah, do your job, honey." I said and left him alone. Oh, God. How can he be like this? I know everyone has bad periods in their life, but he seems to have a bad moment every day. I try to forget about what happened with Klaus while I put my things in my office. He's an interesting guy and I would like to know him and why he is like this, but... No! No! He doesn't need a friend like me and I don't need a guy like him in my life.

At lunch break, I went with Kat to a nearby restaurant.
"Is it okay for you to be alone tonight? Lijah wants to take me out and..."
"Yes, it's okay. I'm used to being alone. Don't worry about me." I smile while I eat my pasta.
"Are you sure? I know it's hard to change your life..."
"I said it's okay, Kat. Have fun, don't think about me. I have a boring life."
"Don't say that. Your life will be better when you find some friends."
"I hope so..."
"Are you done with your office?"
"Elijah just sent me a message and he said that you can go home. But tomorrow you will start the hard work." She laughs.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Thank you."
After we eat, Kat goes back to work and I make my way to my car. I was crossing the street, but wasn't paying much attention and suddenly I felt a strong arms around my waist. What the h...! Oh, God... I almost got hit by a car and he... he saved me.
"Be careful next time, Caroline."
"Klaus."
I look into his eyes and I saw how beautiful they are... No Caroline , don't. I get lost in his beautiful blue eyes. Oh, no, no, no, no. Why are you so stupid, Care. You can't fall in love with him. You just can't. I know he is exactly like Tyler. He will make you fall in love with him, then he will make you believe that he's in love with you and in the end he will break your heart. I don't need this. I need someone who will love me forever.
