This story uses a custom Batwoman in a world where there is no Batman. This story begins in a custom DC universe, and this Batwoman variant's real name is Madisyn Reynolds. This story will have Batwoman get transferred to a customized version of the Avengers: EMH universe, eventually join the Avengers, and get used to living on another world. An average guy somehow finds himself in the DC Universe. By some sort of miracle, he didn't go mad and ended up planning an escape. He nearly succeeded. Perhaps he succeeded a little too much.
