*Important Note*
Jujutsu Kaisen is a created by Gege Akutami.
I own nothing.
I'm writing this because I felt bored and wanted to try something new. I'm far from a good writer so please leave criticism in any and all reviews if you have any.
The whole premise is really a "What if Yuuta returned Pre-Shibuya" but I thought that wouldn't be enough of a twist to make for a really entertaining story so Im going to make sure there is more conflict between the main case an all antagonists/villians. By that I mean basically change the entire course of the story with Yuuta's return.
Without showing my hand too much the 3 great clans will have a major role in this. The disaster curses will obviously be important as well.
Story is mostly Yuuta centric, with Yuuta x Maki happening in the background
Yuuji, Megumi, and Maki will each have a large role respectively as well.
Also there is a high likelihood that there will be spoilers for the Manga, as of first writing this story the Manga is up to 244 chapters of publication. So if you are an anime only and don't want to receive possible spoilers such as some characters' specific powers or abilities this probably won't be for you.
Chapter 0
September 26th, 2018
The sea breeze felt cooler than usual. On days like these it felt almost like the world's foundation was shaking. Even within the innate domain of the disaster curse Dagon it could be felt, or at least he could feel it.
Kenjaku observed the other special grade curses; Mahito lounging around occasionally making snide remarks towards the Volcano-headed curse Jogo. Dagon, cheerful as always, was happy to idle between the curse of humanity and volcanoes.
The laughter and cheer is a sharp contrast to the intense and anxious mood that filled the body-hopper.
4 hours earlier…
Every wednesday at exactly 4:00 PM a meeting was supposed to occur at a randomly chosen location.
A meeting between two individuals, two people who operate on different sides.
For past dozen years the biggest obstacle in Kenjaku's way was getting ahold of information Tengen kept within the barriers of Tokyo and Kyoto Jujutsu high.
Kenjaku had lived for over a thousand years and was far from ignorant of the deeper intricacies of the jujutsu world. Cursed energy, cursed techniques, innate domains, simple domain, Kenjaku knew it all. He could even claim to have achieved the divine feat of an open barrier domain, a feat only accomplished previously by the king of curses himself; Ryomen Sukuna.
The issue he was facing was that he held very little information about the specifics of the school such as the personal details of the students and faculty. He could worry about the specific techniques and ability of the sorcerers later on. He knew of the school figureheads such as their Principal Masamichi Yaga and of course the strongest sorcerer of the modern era, Satoru Gojo.
Satoru Gojo. Everything became a lot more complicated once he was born. Without a doubt his plans would have to be altered. Once again the six eyes had appeared to stop him. The immense world shaking power of Satoru Gojo would be the ultimate roadblock to his goal.
Kenjaku considered he should count himself lucky for the intervention of Toji Zen'in. Had he not involved himself in the matters of the star plasma vessel he likely would not have been able to get ahold of this body.
His internal thoughts were disputed by a loud beeping, signaling the entrance of the other visitor.
'Oh that right, I almost forgot about him mused Kenjaku as he directed his attention towards the droid that stood in the doorway
All of the issues had magically faded away with the figurative and literal arrival of his ultimate pawn; Kokichi Muta. In exchange for the secrets of Kyoto and Tokyo jujutsu high kokichi, or Mechamaru as he was known by the students, would be relieved of his broken and frail body.
The deal was made through a binding vow to give Mechamaru the highest assurance of security. As soon as Kenjaku had what he needed Mechamaru would be easily discarded. It would be best if there were no loose ends. The best part was that in Kenjaku's humble opinion, he was absolutely getting the greater end of the stick. Across all the meetings they have had since mechmaru arrived in his first year of jujutsu high, the information he provided was far more than exceptional. It was like he didn't care for the jujutsu world at all. However Kenjaku was far from naïve, he knew this was all a part of Mechamaru's ploy at having his cake and eating it too. Once Kenjaku had healed Muta's body there was no doubt in the brain's mind that Muta would try and eliminate Kenjaku by some means to alert Satoru Gojo of his location.
"What do you have for me today, Mechmaru?" Kenajaku stated evenly, attempting to control the flow of the conversation right out of the gate.
"News"
Silence. 'News...what does that mean?' pondered the brain. "Whatever do you mean?" was the response that came out of the mouth of the possessed body.
"There is a lot for me to report"
" then let's hear it"
Mechamaru is silent before he continues. He clears his through giving the impression that he has a lot to say.
"September 20th, Kyoto-tokyo school goodwill event date set for October 4th"
'What? it was supposed to occur on the 3rd, this complicates things but it shouldn't alter the plans too much'. Everything had gone exactly to Kenajaku's likings, from Yuuju becoming the vessel of Sukuna, to the whereabouts of over 10 fingers from the king of curses. What had caused this sudden change in the date of the event?
Mechamaru seemed to take the silence as a que to continue on with his report. "September 22nd, the Zen'in clan deny the promotion of second year sorceress Maki Zen'in to grade 2. That same day an extended argument took place between two higher elites in the Gojo and Zen'in clans, which seems to be another one of their discussions over whether or not the Gojo clan should remain as one of the 3 great families in jujutsu society."
'Unimportant'
The promotion of the zen'in girl was of no concern to him. It was no surprise that the Gojo and Zen'in were fighting amongst each other, it's been the same song and dance for hundreds of years. The Gojo family should count their blessing for the existence of their clan head, without Satoru Gojo and the influence held in the six eyes the clan would be living only on their past reputation. Either way it had no effect on Kenjaku's own agenda.
"September 23rd, the Kamo clan supports the motion to remove the Gojo clan from the 3 great family pillars of jujutsu" Continued Mechamaru.
"Really?" Kenjaku couldn't help but to audibly respond to such information. It had been so long since his own influence on the Kamo clan in his time as Noritoshi Kamo that he had almost forgotten that they were included in the 3 great families.
The Kamo clan, renowned for their ability in blood manipulation, a cursed technique that has the potential to end fights in seconds with. A cursed technique with ultimate versatility in combat. the only weakness being the source of the blood. The clan usually kept quiet, with its own reputation always stained due the everlasting legacy of Jujutsu's most heinous sorcerer. To come out and boldly stand on the side of the Zen'in was unprecedented. The balance of power between the families worked because each of them were only in it for themselves. An alliance was impossible and Kenjaku knew there was no chance any of the clans would ever give up their pride to play along with another. But this was a situation that had never happened before, the Zen'in had been trying to tear down the Gojo clan for generations, so what changed now that gave the Kamo the confidence to speak up? What made them think their opinion would have an influence?
"Continue" Kenjaku ordered, this was already the most interesting report Mechamaru had ever given him, the implication of this was unquantifiable.
"September 24th, a vote is set to occur in secret among Jujutsu societies highest elites. This vote is set to occur October 2nd. It is clear that the only thing that is currently protecting the Gojo clan is Satoru Gojo himself. It is likely that presence alone will be enough to dissuade enough of the voters from going against him."
" There is more to this, correct?" Asked Kenjaku
"There is more news that I have to share but unfortunately this is all the recent information I have on this matter"
Truly a pity.
"You may continue then"
"This is probably the information that I think you will find most interesting" Mechamaru stated in a very serious tone.
'whatever he is about to say will probably affect my plans then' Kenjaku thought while attempting to stifle a sigh of annoyance.
"Yuuta Okkotsu is returning and will arrive at Tokyo Jujutsu high tomorrow, the 27th of September. I have no idea or theory on the reason of his return"
What.
This was not something that was a part of Kenjaku's plan. This was far, far away from what Kenaku had envisioned in the realm of possibility. 'Why is he returning? Why now?' The brain frantically tried to wrack his own mind for reasons and logic behind the unexplainable return of the Second most gifted prodigy of the modern era.
8 months ago he had left Japan, the details and reasoning that was given to the students of Tokyo jujutsu high was that Okkotsu was a problem student with an unbounded amount of cursed energy that could not be controlled. A better way to phrase it would be that Okkotsu was a danger, a threat that the higher ups of jujutsu society couldn't control. Even without the special grade curse of Rika Orimoto the young sorcerer held an immense amount of potential. The trip abroad was a scheme of Satoru Gojo to give Okkotsu time to refine his abilities so that he wouldn't be expelled from Jujutsu high altogether. Or at least that was Kenjaku's theory.
Only 4 months after he had left he had become a special grade again, a testament to the raw potential of the prodigy.
So why was he returning now? There had to be a reason.
Kenjaku's eyes, which had been directed upwards as he pondered, traveled back to Mechamaru, expecting further detail.
"That is all I have for you today Suguru Geto" Machamaru stared blankly before going to say "My self destruct sequence will begin in 30 seconds and activate in 180 second"
This meant the meeting was over and that Mechamaru had provided Kenjaku with all the information that was available to him at the moment.
"Thank you for this Mechamaru, with this we each move closer to our goals"
Mechamaru did not respond.
Current time…
This truly was going to complicate things. The entire plan, the sequence of events, the pieces on the board would all have to be rearranged. The warm sun of the tropical beach be his only reprieve from the headache caused by this overachieving child.
Elsewhere…
Satoru Gojo sat deep in thought in his own reclining leather chair. This truly was a headache.
The Clan was in deep shit, there were new special grade curses running around, and principal Yaga was asking him to work overtime.
The sky was truly falling, how can the strongest be reserved to such mundane tasks. What was he even supposed to be working overtime for again?
Oh, how could he forget. The Goodwill event was happening in just about a week's time, Yuuji would be happily reunited with first years and Tokyo would wipe the floor with Kyoto just like last year.
Gojo tried to keep his mind on happy pleasing thoughts like that and teasing Utahime but he couldn't keep his mind clear of the pinch his own clan was in.
The other 2 great clans were looking for any excuses to remove the Gojo from the equation, and had it not been for his own presence they would have already succeeded.
The problem was that the Gojo technically didn't have any means to argue their grounds, they couldn't justify their position without mentioning Satoru which inherently showed that as a clan they were unfit to continue on. It demonstrated that the clan was a one man team. There was nothing Satoru could do about this predicament, so in the face of this adversity he knew he had one last trick up his sleeve, his figurative hail mary that would either get him nowhere or save the clan.
Yuuta Okkotsu.
His distant relative, born from the same blood of Sugawara Michizane. It was a desperate play, the other 2 clans would be outraged if an outsider or distant family member could be so easily included in the affairs of the higher jujutsu elites. Thankfully this decision was a family matter which meant that as the head of the Gojo he could whatever the fuck he wanted to when it came to his clan.
most of the time.
Poor Yuuta still had no idea what he was in for. Gojo felt bad for not telling him about the whole ordeal instead asking him to return to watch his friends compete in the goodwill event since Hakari had gotten the third years suspended or in his case expelled. He could hear the excitement in Yuuta's voice at the thought of seeing his classmates again, especially Tokyo Jujutsu high's own cursed tool wielding second year.
Shit, he hadn't even thought about how that might play into his plans with Yuuta and his clan. He'll cross that bridge when they get there though.
Fuck this really was going to annoy him, damn Zen'in and Higher ups.
A deep sigh escaped him.
'So, how can I turn this awful situation into something entertaining? ' he contemplated. What could he do to lighten his mood?
It was then that he had an absolutely brilliant Idea. So he pulled out his phone, navigated to a text message chat that included all the students participating in the Goodwill event, minus Yuuji of course because that was going to be the ultimate surprise. He began typing his message out.
11:14 PM: 'Jus wanted to let you guys know Yuuta is coming back tomorrow'
With that he quickly turned off his phone and readied himself to head to his own facilities to retire to bed. He'd make sure to wake up early tomorrow to get a kick out of the reaction of all the students.
