Toshiro took in a breath, and when he let it out, he felt the pillow shift beneath him. Rolling his face, he nestled deeper into it. The softness of the pillow squished beneath his face, so he fell deeper into it. Though, he realized the deeper he went, the stranger the sounds seemed to be, but it wasn't from himself. He heard something now as he stopped his nestling.
A small, but growing giggle.
He let out a groan in reply into the pillow and rolled his head further as the giggling grew louder, bordering on outright laughter. That caused him to ease uncomfortably out of his sleep. His eyes flickered open. His vision was hazy, like he was looking through a window covered in ice.
Given that when he couldn't control his powers, he could unleash ice in his sleep, this was a possibility.
But he was beyond that. Far beyond it, given recent developments.
Not that anyone knew that, yet.
So he knew his eyes were just glossy from sleep. A few more blinks, and they began to brighten as the shapes and colors of the room became clear.
The overarching back of the couch loomed over him like a mountain, with the blank walls like the sky behind it. But there was something else. One large black pillow that took up most of his vision. Which is strange since his were white, but he was too tired to realize or think otherwise.
"mmm." he groaned as he turned his head into it more. The pillow shifted beneath his face, and he saw it ripple beside his head. At this point, the giggling that was coming directly above his head grew louder but was suffocated at the same time. Like it was trying to be contained, and that, for some reason, made the couch rupture a bit.
He opened his eyes again, though they were less hazy now. Everything was clearer. The black pillow continued to jiggle uncontrollably, and the shifting of the couch beneath him made it so he could not sleep. He moved his hand slightly to fluff the pillow, but that only resulted in a new sound. The slightest whimper mixed with a moan. Then the giggling came back. Finally, Toshiro had had enough.
Groaning again, Toshiro rolled his head around further, and when he did, the giggle became clearer. Turning his head upwards sleepily, he saw another face looking down at him.
It was Rangiku's.
Her cheeks were red, and she was biting down on her lips, muffling an overbearing, amused giggle from inside. Doing so caused it to travel back down to her stomach, causing everything between-namely her chest- to jiggle. Not that he wasn't doing that enough himself at the moment.
And that jiggling of her chest and rumbling of her stomach was beneath him.
Shock quickly came to him as his eyes bugged open, whatever part of his face his eyes didn't take over became visibly red. How the hell did he fall asleep like this? What had happened while he was asleep?
Snapped awake, he was alerted into full consciousness, and his reaction caused one in Rangiku; she could no longer contain her laughs and unleashed them loudly into the office, which echoed them back.
Flinching as if he'd been struck, he jolted back away and off of her, only to fall off of the couch and onto the floor with a hard thud.
Rangiku's laughs continued from there as Toshiro rolled on the floor, groaning and holding the side that he landed on. Grumbling, he picked himself up only to strike his head on the coffee table that hung over him.
"AH!" he let out as he fell back to the ground holding his head. Rangiku at this point, laughed even harder. On the floor, Toshiro held his head, rolling across the ground. As he did, the room got darker. For a shadow overtook him. It was Rangiku leaning over the couch to look down at him. Her hair fell down her shoulders, and her breasts almost popped out as they dropped before him.
"Aww." she eventually cooed eased into place. "Did you hurt yourself, Captain?"
"Eh.. no" he said flatly shuffling on the floor and picking himself up, where he knew he wouldn't strike anything. Arriving back to his full height, he took a step forward right as he heard a knock at his door. "oh what-" he half sighed before taking a step forward only to slam his foot into the couch. He let out a shriek and backed off shaking his foot. With him indisposed, Rangiku answered for him.
"~Come in~" she sang, and once she finished her note, the door was opened, revealing the newly promoted captain of Squad 4 Isane and lieutenant of squad 1 Nanao. Though not as they were usually seen. They were not in their uniforms, but instead were dressed much differently. Gone were the black robes, and replaced with sleeveless, legless, and much more revealing dresses. Needless to say, it was a shock Toshiro did not need, especially after that last one.
"What the hell?!" he let out before backing up and falling over a chair.
Concerned, Isane poked her head up to look over where he fell, and Nanao peered forward.
"Are you alright?" Isane asked but received no answer from the floor. "Toshiro?"
A hand grabbed at the chair, and Toshiro followed as he picked himself up once again. "That's captain Hitsugaya." he corrected coldly pulling his white coat over his shoulders.
"We're the same rank, though." Isane said "You can call me Isane now." she smiled at him. He did not reciprocate.
"Captain Kotestu, Lieutenant Ise." he said coldly looking from one to the other. "What are you two doing here and dressed like..." he trailed off and did not voice his next words. 'Sluts'.
"Like me!" Rangiku cut in chipperly. "I picked out their dresses." she said coming to Toshiro's side and putting her hands on her hips to marvel at her work as the two stood before her "Isane gets the Captains discount now. And did you know that they had ones in her size?" she said aloud and very loud, much to Isanes discomfort.
"It's not really my style." she admitted uncomfortably.
"But it is for tonight!" Rangiku declared. Not quite as loud as her last statement, but still very loud. "It's got to be." she said rubbing her hands, a mischievous evil grin overtaking her face.
Toshiro crossed his arms and rolled his eyes up to Rangiku. "I don't want to know," he said looking up to he.r "But I feel I have to ask." he said gaining her attention. "Dare I ask why?"
"Oh, you know." Rangiku waved her arm casually, and not answering him at all.
"No, I don't." he said flatly, turning his head up to her more.
"Pff." Rangiku blew a raspberry "You think guys want a modestly dressed woman?"
"Forget I asked." he said turning his head away.
"Just wait till you see my outfit." she said as her shadow disappeared from over him to walk away
"Like I said." he let out grumpily as he stopped "Forget I-"
"See!" she suddenly shouted into his ear as her boobs flopped into his face with what seemed to be nothing containing them.
"Geh!" Toshiro grunted as he jumped back, but slipped over his captains coat and fell to the floor.
"Oh, captain you're so clumsy, let me help you up." she said offering him a hand. Toshiro didn't take it, for he was too busy focusing on what she was wearing or lack of it. By comparison, Isane and Nanao, though scantily clad, looked modestly clothed.
He just kept his eyes on her face and her dandling chest beneath it for there was nothing else to look at.
"Wow!" she let out after a few moments of his silent ogling "Even you, Captain! Then I'm sure to get some tonight." she cheered picking herself back up.
"I don't think he counts." Isane said as she turned to join them "He is that age." she said pointedly, raising a finger for extra emphasis. "I'd expect something like this."
"Expect what?" Toshiro shot a suspicious glare at her. Almost like he thought she knew something she shouldn't. One she buckled under.
"Well, you are growing a growing boy, Toshiro."
"Captain Histugaya." he corrected coldly, though her answer lessened the glare he had on her.
"Growing, but still a boy." Nanao said.
"But he'll be an adult soon enough." Isane said. Toshiro perked up when she said 'adult.' shooting his accusatory glare at her again.
"My Captain as an adult, hmm?" Rangiku pondered putting a hand that was once outstretched to her captain to rub on her chin. A curious but still mischievous look on her face as she day-dreamed. "Imagine that."
"Get some?" Toshiro said as he picked himself up "Get what?" he dusted himself off.
Rangiku turned back to him with a cheeky grin. "Oh, captain, you don't need to worry about that. Just some drinks."
"Pff." Toshiro spat. "Never saw the appeal."
"Well, you're not old enough." she said matter of factly, but broke it to him as politely as she could "But you are old enough to notice-"she suddenly truck a pose, one that made him ogle her again "This." she declared. Crossing his arms his scowl then deepened.
"Is that all then?"
"Well," she said breaking out of it. "I'm bound to make a few new friends."
"That you won't bring here." Toshiro said.
"What do you mean, captain?"
"Just that. These two are lucky I let them in here dressed like that." he glanced at them, making them both feel just a bit more self-conscious about what they wore. "So I won't tolerate a less clothed you for any reason. Or any strange man."
"They won't be strange. They'll be hunks!" Rangiku cried.
"And they won't be here."
"Oh, captain." Rangiku waved her hands and him off "It'll be past your bedtime. You'll be in bed by then, so you wouldn't even know."
"You won't know that."
"Well... what would you be doing to be up so late?" she asked. Now Toshiro went silent and stirred, and the three women peered in at him, awaiting an answer. "Hm?"
Rolling his shoulders, he spoke. "None of your business."
"Well, that settles it!" Rangiku said "Come on, girls! And good night captain." she said shuffling the others through the door and closing it in one motion.
Toshiro stayed behind and listened to the sounds of their voices and footsteps disappearing. They left him alone with his own thoughts to ponder their words.
'Growing but still a boy, huh.' 'Not old enough.' Those words kept continuing to run through his mind.
If only they knew what he had acquired recently. If only they knew what he accomplished. Of course, he kept that to himself. And all the perks that came with it.
Once they were finally gone and he was sure of it he unsheathed his sword. Looking at the reflection in it, he spoke the words.
"Bankai."
The bar was only a little more packed than usual. The three of them managed to find a table for themselves. All the while, Rangiku scouted out for everyone.
"That one!" Rangiku snapped and pointed across the room, leaning across the table as she did. "That one would be perfect for you, Isane." At the suggestion, Isane went over Rangiku's shoulder to line her eyes up with where she pointed, where they saw someone sitting by the bar with two friends of their own. As encouraging as Rangiku was, Isane wasn't.
"That's a woman." she said.
"So?" Rangiku put her hand down.
"So what?" Isane let out almost offended but was too afraid to offend her friend to say anything. "What's that supposed to mean?!"
"Wa?" Rangiku slurred and shrugged. "I'm just wondering."
"Why are you pointing at me?" a bland voice droned at them.
"Huh?" the two let out to see that their table of three had been joined by a fourth. A woman staring at them with the lights reflection in her glasses, blocking out her eyes to them.
"Lisa?" Nanao let out as she turned to look at her.
"Little Nanao." she said dryly "Your friends need better manners, drunk or not."
"Oh yeah!" Rangiku lurched forward "And you need to stop copying Nanaos' style!" Rangiku shot back. It was at this moment that the two women looked each other over, to find that they were in fact dressed identically, and if not for Lisa's glasses, they may have a hard time telling each other apart. The two went stiffly silent as they looked each other and themselves over.
Rangiku was pretty proud of that.
"I was here first." Lisa said.
"I mean.. you can't prove that." Nanao swallowed uncomfortably.
"Ha!" Rangiku laughed before a tap on her shoulder was felt. She mistook it for a fly and swatted it away. But when it tugged on her shoulder strap next, she grabbed ahold of it in her hand.
"Ow." Isane let out. Hearing her cry, Rangiku turned over to see her friend's finger in her crushing grip.
"Sorry girl." Rangiku said letting it go. "Don't know my own strength." she flexed and then put her arms down "Now what is it? You want another drink? I'm sure we can find some saps to give us some."
"No, its just-" Isane moved to point, but her finger still hurt, so she cradled it in her hand, and pointed out extending one finger from it "I think that guy might be your type."
Perking up at that, Rangiku looked to where Isane pointed. She had an easier time than Isane had before and instantly saw where she pointed, or rather, who.
Sitting up at the bar counter was a solitary figure. He sat under one of the lights, so he was perfectly enshrined within it was a man.
And what a man he was. He stuck out so much that at one point in this night, Rangiku would have been drawn to him anyway. Dressed in all white, as opposed to everyone else in black, it matched his scruffy white hair. His arms filled out his sleeves, as did his legs, which reached all the way down to the floor. So tall was he that he had to stoop in his seat to be comfortable and stooped over the counter. Not in a sloppy way, but eased into it coolly. His arm was crossed onto the counter as the other held a glass, which he casually drank from. Tucked into one of his hands was a cigarette, burning at the end.
"Heeyy." Rangiku nudged Isane in the ribs with her elbow. "Good eyes." she said as Isane budged from the ribbing she received now. "That's my kinda guy."
"Well, he's theirs too." Nanao said stiffly. "So you better hurry." Snapping her head back, Rangiku saw that the man at the bar was approached by two young women.
"I know those two." Isane said. "They're part of my squad."
"Well, tell them to back off!" Rangiku snapped at Isane quite aggressively.
"But it's not work hours. They can talk to whoever they want to." she stated.
"I don't care! I saw him first, so he's mine!"
"But I saw him for you."
Before Rangiku could snap back at her Nanao cut in "No need." she said dryly. Turning her head back, Rangiku saw the man sitting there merely shook his head to the two women and went back to sipping his drinks. The two slunk away but still looked back at him as they retreated with dreamy eyes.
"Phew. That was close." Rangiku he let out "Seems he was playing hard to get."
"Maybe he just wants to drink in peace." Isane said.
"Not when he sees me." Rangiku said running her hands through her hair.
"What do you have that those two don't?"
Looking slyly to her friend, Rangiku merely puffed her chest out. In doing so ,she drew more attention to herself, so much so that other men at other tables looked at her. But not the one she was focused on. He remained as he was, idle in his own spot, content to do his own thing. Casually drinking and smoking in his seat.
That was until she walked up to him. Flipping her hair, she left the table, strutting over to the counter. The light shone down on him as the rest of the room darkened, and as she got closer, the image of him only became clearer. And that made her want him more. She licked her lips as she drew in closer. It seemed to be getting colder the closer she got, which was strange because inside she felt hotter than ever. He seemed oblivious to her, even as she came up right beside him. She leaned to one side on the counter, yet still he faced forward and not towards her at all.
"Hey, handsome." her voice called out in one as sexy as she could muster. He did not turn his head toward her.
"Evening." he replied in a dry yet cool voice that sent shivers down her spine.
"So," Rangiku began "I was wondering-"
"Not interested." he shot her down instantly, but she didn't come all this way to fail.
"Aw, come on." she said playfully "You don't even know what I was gonna ask." He said nothing before, save for taking a sip of his drink some more. She waited eagerly for his reply. He put his mug down and let out a breath. As well as a voice.
"What was it then?" he asked bringing his cigarette up to take a puff from it.
"Guess." she whispered playfully. A small huff escaped him.
"I don't like ga-" he turned over to seemingly scold her, but stopped short when he finally saw her.
And at the sight of her, as she expected, he stopped short of any words. His mouth gaped open for a moment before he snapped it shut, and it opened again on it's own. The cigarette in his mouth almost fell out into his drink, which jostled in its cup, splashing onto him a little bit, letting the drops drip from the tips of his white bangs. His eyes widened now, and she could see that they were turquoise.
Strangely, even she faltered for a moment. It reminded her of the way her captain looked at her before she left.
Those turquoise eyes, in fact, looked at her like they recognized her from somewhere, though she knew for a fact they had never met before. Looking at him again, he almost looked like the image of what she imagined an adult version of her captain would be.
But she didn't focus on that since she knew she had this tall, handsome stranger now. Though, she was just as likely to fall head over heels for him. Her heart was already beating too fast into her chest, she thought it might burst out and into his hands. She could only keep this up for so long until that happened, They'd both play hard to get for now.
"Like what?" she asked smirking.
"I..." he said getting slower and slower before he picked himself up again. But he did not speak.
"Well, when you figure that out." Rangiku began "Why don't you come and enjoy drinks with me and my friends. And I'll tell you what I was going to ask." she said leaving just as she had left her own table. She flicked her hair around, cocked her hip out and strutted away. She spared only a passing glance back to see that he was watching her walk away. "Or it could just be us to you and I to figure it out." she winked.
Confident that she knew where this would go next, she returned to her table.
"Just like I planned." she announced as she reached for a drink and drank it. It was Nanao's who head dropped and rose to follow her cup.
"How?" Lisa asked and for some reason was still with them. "You're back here."
"Did he reject you?" Isane asked before she dropped her head "I'm sorry Rangiku, I thought-"
"Pff." she blew "Me rejected? No, I have him right where I want him."
"Yeah?" Lisa asked dismissively "So does she." she said snidely.
Lashing her head around, Rangiku turned around to see what her other friends saw. And it distressed her considerably.
Looking back, they saw the man sitting as he had been the entire time. His static stare had returned, and his arm was on the counter as the other held his drink.
Yet between himself and his drink, sitting on his lap, was someone else.
Yoruichi Shihoin, who sat comfortably in his lap, leaning her back against the counter while she faced him with very little space between their faces. Her legs were dangling off the chair, locking with his. A wide, catlike grin was on her face. The man seemed to continue on as if no one was before him, but it was clear he could not ignore her.
"Now where did this bitch come from?!" Rangiku shouted loudly as she watched on in horror.
Yoruichi leaned her arm onto his to brace herself, as the man raised the glass to drink from it. She was saying something to him, but the static stare in the man didn't change as he drank from it. He swallowed and put the mug down, settling it around her and back of the counter. Yoruichi then leaned in, closing the short distance between their faces. She opened her mouth, and her tongue slid out.
Glistening wet, it touched the bottom of his neck before dragging upwards, tracing his Adams apple, and rounding his chin before coming up to his lips.
Yet, right before her tongue could touch his lips, she suddenly came to a stop.
"Hey!" Rangiku's voice called out. The man's static stare flared up again as he turned to see Rangiku standing beside him. Mirroring him still in his lap, Yoruichi did the same.
They both turned over to see Rangiku, nearly doubled over before them.
"You're.." he said stalling as he saw her, and the scolding look on her face "..back." Despite how caught off guard he looked, Yoruichi was far from it.
"Sup." she said as she leaned back further into the counter. This time putting her legs up from dangling off the sides to up against and over his torso, her feet lining up with his head on each side.
"I was wondering if you were going to take me up on my offer?" Rangiku tapped her foot impatiently.
"I was, but..." he trailed off, as did Rangiku as Yoruichi then let out a stretch and ran her hands through her ponytail.
"yeah, but..." Rangiku agreed, eyeing her now and sensing a threat from her.
"What?" Yoruichi asked, rolling her feet. "He was alone, and I gave him company."
"He just said he was going to join my company." Rangiku said.
"Oh, but we both have so much more in common, right?" she asked rotating a foot to move his head back to look at her "We both like changing ourselves, eh?" she winked. The man flared up again at that, his eyes widening. Something only Rangiku had made him do. Yet, Yoruichi did so with her words, just as she did with her body.
"What does that mean?-" Rangiku asked, but suddenly he quickly asked something before she could expect an answer.
"-What was it?" he snapped his head back to her. "That you were going to ask me to come over for?"
Sensing the abruptness in his words, it still dawned on her that she had retaken control of whatever this was. And so, not wanting to lose that control again, she exerted it.
"I was gonna ask if you came here alone, do you intend to leave alone?" she said putting on a knowing smirk.
The man's eyes settled back into what appeared to be his usual sternness.
"No." he answered.
A grin came over Rangiku's face. "So.. you wanna leave now?"
The man's sternness faded into seriousness. Once again, the look on his face seemed very familiar. Though it was one that often looked up to her. "Yes." he answered, but afterword's he did not look to Rangiku, but to Yoruichi.
"whew." he whistled lowly, but sharply. She seemed to take the hint and lowered her legs off his shoulders.
"Next time." she said bringing them down.
"Next time." he agreed before downing his drink. Yoruichi pivoted off his lap and walked off as he dropped the glass onto the counter and ashed the cigarette beside it.
He wiped his mouth off and then slipped forward, sliding off the chair. His feet landed on the ground with a heavy but controlled thud. The light he sat under was blocked out as his head overtook it. Needless to say, he was taller than Rangiku. His shirt slipped open, revealing a hard, muscular chest. That coupled with his height ,and his deep serious voice, made him the ideal man for her.
In her eyes, they were the epitome of man and woman; so why not?
He turned over to her, as she was concealed in shadow beneath him.
"You ready to leave?" he asked.
"Oh, I've been looking for a reason to leave."
"Well, you're my reason." he said coolly that made her mouth water.
She reached out and took his hand in hers, leading the way they marched off together. Putting his other hand in his pocket, he followed her. Rangiku spared a glance at her friends, winking at them while they waved her off before she headed out the door.
"So where did you have in mind?" he asked.
"Oh we can go right back to my place."
"Is it far?"
"No, hardly a step away."
"Hm." he let out "No one else around?"
"Just my captain, but he'll be in bed. I doubt we'll even hear him."
"Will he hear you?" he asked. Biting her lip, she looked back over her shoulder.
"That all depends on you, big guy."
Rangiku woke up the next morning feeling like a god among men. Which she already was so, she felt even more so now. Sprawled out in her bed with the sheets pulled off and blankets discarded from it. She almost thought it was going to break last night.
Stretching the sleep and weariness from her, she rolled over hoping to press her head against a hard sweat drenched chest, but found it was only more of her bed that she felt.
Opening her eyes, she saw no one was by her side. Rolling over, she felt and saw the same thing on the other side. Sitting herself up, she found her room was very much a mess, but that she was the only one within it.
Her eyes widened as the shock hit her. Had she been- no there's no way. But then another dreaded thought crept into her mind. What if he was outside? In the office? And her Captain was used to waking up early, so they had likely crossed paths. No! She had to save him.
She got up from the bed and went straight to the door, so quickly that she almost forgot to put on clothes. What little she decided to dress herself with would have to do today.
She stormed outside of her room to the office to find.. no one there. Not her dream man, and not even her captain, who would normally be up. Confusion and puzzlement overtook her.
Her eyes traced the room some more, and she saw absolutely nothing out of place. She took a further step out to try to see more, but her foot caused the floor to creak.
And accompanying that was a door opposite hers. The one to her captains room. From there, her captain appeared dressed as plainly as she was, with only his fittingly white underwear to be seen. His hair messy, and his arms stretchrf out as his mouth opened for a yawn. And he smelled for some reason, like cigarettes.
This morning kept getting stranger and stranger.
"Captain you slept in?! That's not like you at all." she exclaimed as he stepped out of the room, his sleepy steps making him look drunk.
"I did not get much sleep last night." he admitted and that frightened Rangiku very much. The day had already started, and she was about to get a lecture.
"What... kept you up?" she asked trying to play it off.
Now, Toshiro froze in place before his desk. "You don't reme-" he cut himself off. He clenched his jaw, as if catching himself saying something he shouldn't of. But Rangiku was too nervous to say anything. "I just.." he began but his voice faded "Couldn't sleep. Had trouble. Don't know why." he answered coldly. But in a cool way. Almost sounding like the man she met last night.
"Maybe you can go to Isane to ask what's up?" Rangiku said intent on playing this off and leading him off the trail.
"Maybe." he agreed "But maybe not." he dismissed her, sounding more like his usual self, as he then got to dressing himself before her. She watched him do so, finding his demeanor so dauntingly familiar. Though she could not exactly say why.
"Say, Captain." she began as he tugged his white coat over his shoulders, pausing to look at her "Did you just wake up?"
"Obviously." he said tiredly, as if it wasn't obvious.
"Obviously so did I." she admitted. "But that's so unlike you...So that means you didn't see anyone else today?"
"I saw you. And you've only seen me."
"Well actual-" she blurted out, stopping short of revealing anything else but still received an icy glare from her captain. One that his white hair fell over his turquoise eyes to give her a chilling sensation she first felt last night when the same sight was on her.
"Actually what?"
"Eh-nothing." she admitted, but felt her knees buckling from those eyes.
"Good." he said tugging his coat all the way around him with it, looking like he was ready for another day. Yet instead of going to his desk, he went right for the door, confusing Rangiku even more.
"Where are you going?"
"Squad 2." he answered.
"Squad 2?" she repeated, confused. "For what?"
"I have previous engagements." he replied icily.
"With Captain Soi Fon?"
"No." he said flatly reaching for the knob.
"Who then?" she asked curiously. "Lady Yoruichi?" she blurted out half because there was no one else of a captain's caliber who might interest him, but also because that was the last person she had a interaction with last night beside her mystery man, so that was the first name that came to mind.
Toshiro froze again at that suggestion, halfway opening the door, so that it only remained ajar.
"Hm?" Captain?" she let out, concerned.
"Yes." he answered.
"Huh? Why her?" she asked, and now he made moves to go through the door. But that just confused her more.
"We had an agreement." he repeated.
"But what does-" she couldn't finish that question or hear his answer since he closed the door and went outside.
Whatever it was, it must be very important.
