Chapter 12: The Valentine's Day Semi-Formal Dance

The next day, we all met up at the Edgewood Country Club for a post-Valentine's Day semi-formal dance. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Sarah greeted back. We jammed out to our usual music of NSYNC, 98 Degrees, Kate Bush, and Lizzo while eating snacks, taking our photos at the photo booth, and eating dinner. Dinner served was stuffed chicken breast, sliced roast beef and mushroom gravy, penne marinara, roasted redskin potatoes, and roasted asparagus with a seasonal salad, a field salad, rolls and butter, and Valentine's Day cookies and cupcakes for dessert . "The pasta is delicious," Carly remarked. "I had it as a traditional Valentine's Day meal before my 8th grade dance." "That is always a good meal to eat on Valentine's Day," Spencer agreed. "I helped cook it," Mr. Benson pointed out. "This is just as magical as the Sweet 16 party at Brackenridge Heights Country Club that I went to," Alex remembered. "As for my favorite banquet food, it would have to be salad." "Same here," Justin agreed. "I wish that I had applied for the job," Max stated. "Remember that you guys will eat here again for the Music Support Group Varsity Marching Band banquet at the end of April, and their halftime show was entitled 'Rock of Ages' this year," I happily stated. "There is Sybil," James stated, looking across the ballroom. "Hopefully, not another one of those girls I tried to impress for School Picture Day is here, too!" "I worry about pretty girls seeing me at the country club, too," Henri stated. "But, my favorite banquet food is the stuffed chicken breast because they always cook the chicken breast so good," Sarah stated. "I don't eat the stuffing, similar to the turkey breast, though." Then, we danced to a lot of the same songs we heard the previous day for our dance party at LA Fitness in Monroeville. I filmed the Cupid Shuffle and the Cha-Cha Slide for my YouTube channel to share with everyone. Pretty soon, it was time for all of us to leave. "Thanks for a great evening, everyone!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Sarah replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
