"Dragon vocal speech"

[Dragon speaking in their head]

(Mind reading Dragon speaking in another dragon's mind or mind reading Dragon hearing what others are thinking)

The queens of Pyrrhia flew through the sky, lightning flashed above them, the winds howled against their bodies, the icy rain slapped against them while they headed south, for an unknown land mass had been discovered.

"W-we need to find shelter!"

Queen thorn cried over the storm, all the queens struggled against the intense gale which blew against them, Queen Glacier squinted, as to shield her eyes from the cold rain and wind, in the distance a large castle like structure came into view, making Glacier turn to her fellow queens. roaring over the howl of the wind.

"We can take shelter in that castle!"

she exclaimed in desperation and panic for she knew they would freeze to death if they didn't.the rest of the queens eyed the dark silhouette of the castle, Princess Blaze shook from the cold, flying close to Glacier, her teeth chattering together.

"G-g.good I-idea!"

they all agreed and made their decent towards the entrance of the castle.

Luckily the entrance had a overhang with walls, protected from the wind and rain.

The queens futilely shook themselves dry, their bodies pummled with the salvo of icy rain.

Glacier turned, there was Queen Coral of the Seawings, Queen Battlewinner of the Nightwings, Queen Ruby of the Skywings, Queen Glory of the rainwings, Queen Thorn of the sandwings, Queen Glacier of the Icewings, the Queen of the Mudwings had to remain behind to help with her kingdom.

the door loomed and towered over the party, Glacier reached for a large knocker, edorned with the skull of a dragon, with burning eyes of blood.

above it there was writing etched with a dead tongue.

"here goes nothing"

she spoke, striking the door three times.

the sound carrying throughout the valley, as if reciting a malicious curse.

letting go of the knocker, the loud creeking of the door slowly opening filled their ears.

filling Blaze with horror, she hid behind Coral as the door slowly opened to expose a long dark corridor, lit by the company of red candles which dimly illuminated their seemly unending path which dwarfed their presence.

Glacier summoning up her courage as she took a long deep breath that she exhaled slowly, looking back at her fellow Queens with wide eyes, the lightning forked along the dark cloud filled sky, lighting up the interior of the corridor every few seconds, thunder rolled across the sky as if shaking the very foundations.

Blaze became spooked as an almighty clap of thunder ripped across the heavens.

"Blaze, wait!"

Glacier cried as Blaze ran unthinkingly forward, causing the rest of the party to follow suit, Blaze after realizing she had unknowingly ran for a short distance slowed to a walking pace, holding a forepaw up to her snout, chewing on her talons as fear rippled through her.

"Blaze, don't run off like that!"

Thorn spoke out, she and the other queens then looked back as the sound of the doors closing echoed, Ruby ran back, though it was to late as the doors slammed shut.

"Noo!"

Ruby roared as she hammered on the doors with her forepaws, after a few seconds she gave up, turning around and regrouping with the others.

"its locked, we're stuck here"

"oh really, nice one pointing that out"

snorted a rather irritated yet shaken Battlewinner , her black scales allowed her to blend better into the darkness more than her friends.shaking like a leaf, Blaze jumped when she backed up into a sculpture, causing it to smash to the ground.

"You shouldn't be here!"

came a powerful rich voice that was from a male, it echoed throughout the corridor, causing the countless spikes on Glaciers back to stand on end, Glory turned her scales to a pale cream white green, a sign of fear, Battlewinner also looked startled from the voice, Coral looked around, her eyes looking at everything.

"G-g-guys"

a terrified Blaze gripped onto Glacier, pointing a shaky forepaw down the corridor where a set of dark red eyes shone, a set of glowing blue teeth were also visible just under the eyes.

Glacier's heartbeat sounded in her ears as the Queens looked towards the unknown figure.

the sound of heavy steps filled their ears, fear erupted within their eyes, backing towards the entrance doors while the large heavy foot steps grew faster, closer, heavier, stomping all the way.

as the figure passed by each set of candles, the flames became extinguished followed by smoke rising from the wick, a low deep blood curdling growl rolled through the air.

"back, Back, its coming!"

Ruby cried with horror, the Queens let out cries of terror as the creature opened its jaws, Blaze let out a scream, just as the creature was about to clamp its jaws down, a feminine voice sounded out.

"Krystal dear, what is all that screaming!"

the voice sounded far away, yet the cloaked figure held still before slowly drawing its maw away, drool dripping from its glowing fangs as it responded.

"Nothing mother, just some guests are here"

he said with annoyance in his voice, a smaller female, around the size of glacier appeared from a lit room before running down the corridor to meet up with the larger figure.

"Krystal, how many more times do i have to say, stop scaring guests half to death"

she sounded old, yet didn't look old, in fact she seemed around a similar, if not slightly, older age than Coral.

"my apologies for my son here, he tends to do this Alot"

she said, hitting him on his large head with her walking stick she at times used.

Glacier eyed the dragoness, she had brown and white scales, the whitest scales that white can be, her eyes were odd, one was red while the other was a beautiful emerald green.

"i-its quite alright"

Coral spoke up, she eyed the black beast that the brown and white dragoness claimed to be her son.

"Ah, that reminds me!"

she turned to her son, only for the sound of a whack to come

WHACK!

"Ow! what was that for!"

growled out the still-cloaked figure, he raised a large forepaw, rubbing his head, where his mother had just smacked.

"That's for disobeying me once again"

his mother said, sounding nothing but a bit upset that her son keeps on ignoring her, she turned to face the shivering females, realising they must be cold, her eyes widen as she spoke out.

"Please come! warm yourselves by our fire"

the old female spoke out, padding down the corridor, she smacked her son on the backside, earning her a yelp from the large male.

"Ow, stop it mother!"

he hissed only to have the female spin around and hiss back.

"apologise to them at once, and make it sincere, i will not tolerate this behaviour any longer Krystal"

the large male then uncloaked himself, the Queens looked stunned as a mostly black and dark blue male came into view, he lowered his head, as if bowing to his mother, who was at least a third his size.

"sorry mother"

he then turned to the group of queens, his red eyes looking at them, this time with a more friendly look to them.

"i apologise for scaring you"

"you better be"

growled an irritated Battlewinner, she let out a puff of smoke before the queens followed the mother and son towards where a light shone from a room down the corridor.

upon reaching near the end of the corridor, the chime of a large Bell bellowed out across the landscape, Blaze shivered more as the cold moisture still clung to her body, the brown and white female rounded into a large room, lit by a raging fireplace that burned with ferocity.

"Please, do make yourselves comfortable, are any of you hungry?"

she asked the group of dragons, her eyes seemingly scanning over each of the females before she looked up at her son.

"Krystal, do dry them off darling"

the large male rolled his red eyes only to wave a forepaw over each of the females, casting some ancient magic that made their bodies as dry as bone, each of the females let out a shivered sigh of relief, yet the icy cold still clung painfully to their bodies.

upon finishing, with his mother in the cooking room talking to what sounded to be another male, perhaps the large males father, Glacier eyed the large male, her dark blue almost black eyes scanned over the fine features of his body.

"s-so you are just a dragon then?"

she asked, rearing back slightly as the large male turned to her and hissed.

"Mind your tongue... Female"

he spoke with an almost venom in his words, this surprised Glacier and the other queens alot, Glacier had to admit, even though this male had tried to eat them, or that is what it seemed, she found the male to be rather handsome, the toned look of his body made her stare at him in wonder, she could have stared at the male for longer, if it wasn't for the rather loud clanking of bowls filled with hot soup.

"who's hungry"

the brown and white female spoke in a sing song voice, placing a rather large bowl in front of each of the females, yet Krystal refused his, the mother sighing as she gently placed the bowl down, gripping the larger males chin in her forepaws.

"is the sickness getting worse?"

she asked her son, her eyes radiated with concern and love, she deeply cared for her little black diamond, as she at times called him.

"Mother, I am fine, it just feels a bit more cold today"

he explained to the worry stricken female, before turning to look at the females, a smile upon her scaled lips.

"you all seem familiar, yet I can't place a talon on it... have you come to see if you can become a mate for my son"

the question made all the queens cough and choke up, Glacier placed the metal spoon down before replying.

"We got caught in a storm and seeked shelter from it in this castle, yet we weren't expecting such a fright from your son"

she pointed with her snout to the large male, who by now had a spoon in his forepaw, taking slow sips from the soup, he eyed the females, then his mother as he whined out.

"Mother, I don't want to marry yet"

Coral found it rather adorable that such a terrifying creature acted like a dragonet around their mother, she whispered this to Glory and Thorn, both of whom giggled, catching the attention of Krystal who blew a puff of black smoke at them.

"Krystal, stop disrespecting our guests!"

huffed out krystals mother when Battlewinner asked in her normal irritated sounding voice.

"So if I may ask, who ar-"

"Who am I? Well, I am Beiphuth"

all the queens stopped eating, eyes wide with shock, Thorn spoke out first.

"Y-your THE Beiphuth!?"

all she got was a nod from Beiphuth, the dragonesses eyes wide as she chuckled.

"you all seem stunned, shocked even, i do wonder why you all act in such a manner"

she questioned while her son ate, his eyes dancing around in a warily manner.

"b-but we thought all the drain wings were-"

"Dead? exiled? yes alot of stories surround us, yes we left, but that was after most of our species had been wiped out"

she spoke with a heavy heart, Krystal sensed this and covered his mother with his left large blue and black wing, dark red veins running along it.

"easy mother, we're safe remember"

Krystal spoke, his voice soft, gentle and soothing, yet rough like jagged mountains.

Beiphuth let a sigh, a single tear ran from her right eye as she spoke to her son.

"K-krystal, spend some time outside"

Krystal gave a gentle nod towards his mother, slowly he got up, passing by Glacier and the other Queens, his lumbering form would cast a shadow over them, making his way out the dining room and down the corridor towards the entrance of the castle.

Eyeing over the queens, making sure her son was out of ear reach, the dragoness turned her back on the Queens, facing the fireplace, she stood motionless.

the Queens stopped eating, placing their metal spoons down, then started to glance at each other, Beiphuth had no idea where to begin, running her tongue over her dry lips, the only sound to invade the ears of the queens was the crackling of the fire.

After a tense few minutes of nothing, Beiphuth spoke, her voice calm yet trembling with the events that had played out throughout the lives of her family before and after they had been exiled from their kingdom and rejected by their species.

"it wasn't always like this, there used to be a time when my family could live without having to hide ourselves from everyone, yet, all that changed. A group of our own species cursed our son, since they had no way to attack me or my husband directly, they went after the only other thing, which would ensure the true end of the drainwings, they think our son is dead, yet he lives on, though the curse is unbroken and slowly consumes my little diamond from the inside, slowly choking the life from him"

The Queens sat in stunned silence, the words from the last Queen of the drainwings echoing, Glacier stopped her speaking as she put forth her first of many questions.

"My apologies for interrupting you, but what do you mean by cursed"

painful seconds flew by, the echoing ticking of the wall-mounted clock ticked away, second after second.Glacier rose her voice with calming respect with a twist of alarment, saying to Beiphuth.

"we Queens of Pyrrhia knew nothing of said curse, for our lands have been calm without the stench of evil, and am shocked that the truth is so vastly and disgustingly different from what we have been led to believe, though if I may say, I speak for all of us Queens when I ask, may we hear the real story, the one that explains the truth behind the legend."

Beiphuth turned around, eyes widened with shock, though before she could respond, she felt the presence of her mate, the echoing voice of her son in her mind told her that father was back, though he didn't quite have full control of his mind-reading powers, with his words leaking out into the minds of the Queens.

Krystal's mother made her way quickly down the now brightly illuminated corridor, heading towards the double entrance doors in a hurried fashion, the Queen followed behind, not sure what had spooked Beiphuth, though they decided to follow, Glacier out in front of the group asked Krystal's mother.

"what's the matter, is everything alright?"

the Icewing Queen reached out with a forepaw, gripping onto Beiphuth's shoulder, the Brown and white female turned her head to look at the Queens, speaking out in a rushed manner.

"Stay here if you wish to live, my husband is here, and he is not expecting any visitors!"

she then leaned against the double doors, forcing them to open, the storm had by now calmed and the sunlight shone through the now white puffy clouds, a large dark twisted forest surrounded the castle, like a shield of protection, the doors of the castle entrance however remained half opened, giving the Queens an ample view of a great looming figure, the head of the father rose from the ocean, water cascaded from his snout, a large pair of purple eyes shone with a deep beautifully hypnotic glow to them, a low deep voice sounded out, echoing across the landscape, carrying immense power that traversed the surrounding area, once the Queens had a better look at him, they all let out gasps of shock, noticing not just the sheer size, but the sheer amount of scars that covered his snout and face was shocking, the large dragon lowered his snout as he eyed the one he loved with all his heart, breathing out, it felt almost like a gale that blew against Beiphuth's body, she squinted her eyes while her husband raised the rest of his enormous body from the ocean, a dark purple almost black pair of wings rose from the ocean, the roaring sound of water cascading from the dragons body as he spoke.

"I have arrived my darling Emerald , where is our son"

he asked, raising his almighty head to search for his son who he cared for deeply and proudly.

"Krystal, where are you my boy!"

he called out for his son, getting an almost instant response from his son, who would appear through a rather messy-looking portal, Krystal landed on his side with a loud Thud, which caused both his parents to eye their son.

"Krystal, you have been told to Never use your abilities haven't you, and you know why?"

Krystal got up as his father spoke to him.

"yes father, I know, I'm not a hatchling anymore"

the son said with a snort, sitting down while his tail curing around himself, the father showed no sort of anger towards his son, due to what the young male has been going through, yet as he was about to speak, Beiphuth spoke up while eyeing her mate.

"We have visitors if you haven't noticed"

she stared at the towering dragon while they locked eyes, after some time the father spoke out."yes, I thought I sensed a group of dragons here, why did you not tell them to leave"he said with a low guttural growl before he exhaled through his nostrils, blowing a cloud of cold droplets of water upon his wife, something that she found to be rather uncomfortable and extremely unnecessary followed by a glare that made her husband back down, tilting his head towards the entrance of the castle, he saw a group of 7 dragons, all from different kingdoms.

"forgive me for my rather...gruff demeanour"

he bowed his head towards the group while they made their way outside, for it seemed safe enough to come forth, Glacier looked up at the enormous dragon, a few droplets still fell from him, some hitting Glacier and the other Queens, she then spoke and introduced herself.

"It is a pleasure to meet you, I am Queen Glacier of the Icewings, this is Queen Ruby of the Skywings, to my right is Queen Coral of the Seawings, this is Queen Thorn of the Sandwings, at the back is Queen Battlewinner of the Nightwings and Queen Glory of the rainwings"

she finished, having forgotten about Blaze. the large male eyed Blaze, his purple eyes seemingly piercing her black eyes, a rumble emanating from his throat as he asked.

"I know who you are though the real question is why are you here"

he spoke with a rather light amount of protective hostility towards them, which in turn caused the queens to take a step backward.

Queen Glacier was shocked that not only had he observed their approach but that he knew every single one of them, without setting eyes upon them, she knew that she had to tread carefully; especially after noting the threat within his voice, which given the limited amount of information Beiphuth gave them; shows that there is much more to the story than they were lead to believe.

Queen Glacier knew she had to speak up, even though she was more than a little intimidated. she took a deep breath and forced herself to rise above the uneasiness of the situation that she and her fellow queens found themselves in.

"Forgive our intrusion sir, we mean no disrespect or ill will of any kind, we were alerted about a week ago by one of my scouts, of a sighting that appeared to be of a large landmass in the distance, a landmass which was never there before; which confused me greatly, but it was the statement that the landmass started to change shape that alarmed me. After discussing this with the other queens it was decided that we had to investigate, we never expected to fly into such an unimaginable storm, we could not go on any further and were forced to seek shelter, we did not know that this land was here, please believe me when I say that if we knew you were here we would have never of taken it upon ourselves to impose sir".

He eyed Glacier with large eyes, narrowing them slightly before letting out a huff of air, his tail uncurled causing the water to be disturbed that formed into a wake that grew into large waves and slapped against the rocks with such force as if it were a storm surge.

he began to walk towards them which finally revealed not only his true unbelievable size, but his deeply scared body, and as he did so he glared at his son for the longest time, his son could only lower his head as he knew his father was disappointed. his father stopped and said,

"thank you for being honest with me, my name is Gromeontunth"

and bowed his head.Queen Glacier bowed to him, the other queens looked at each other as they were shocked to see his deeply scared body and then straightened themselves to also bow.

slowly raising his head, Gromeontunth spoke with that of a softer tone while he raised a forepaw and gestured towards the entrance of the castle.

"forgive me for being so gruff, let's move into the castle, after you my love"

Beiphuth eyed her husband, then as she turned to head into the castle, she looked at the Queens, Krystal followed his mother, padding behind the smaller female, Glacier had watched the mother and son dissappear into the castle, though by the time she turned the look back at the father, she found he was no longer there, her eyes darted around, wondering where the lumbering male had gone, until Beiphuth poked her head out from the entrance of the castle, a small smile on her lips.

"Well, are you coming to finish your soup?"
