Catching Up, Season 2
Chapter 15 – Hunted, Part Two

The following morning, Crowley returned and Dean took over making breakfast. "I'm sorry about yesterday," Mary said. "I know I'm freaking out over things that are practically ancient history for you."

"It's history for us mom, not you," Sam comforted her. "You freak out whenever you need to."

"Exactly," Cas concurred.

"I'd really like to finish the show," Mary said quietly. "Maybe these pancakes will make things easier."

"Worth a shot," Dean shrugged. They fixed their plates and drinks and trooped back, ready to begin the show again.

They picked up again with Gordon perched on the rooftop, sniper rifle in hand. Mary's jaw tightened but right in the nick of time TV!Dean intervened, threatening to kill Gordon if he touched his brother. The show cuts away then comes back to TV!Sam and Ava investigating the rooftop, TV!Dean and Gordon long gone. They don't have wonder where they went for long though; TV!Sam puts in a call to TV!Dean and it's revealed that Gordon is holding him hostage at gunpoint. Mary didn't look away from the screen, "He's in Hell right?"

"Rotting like milk in the Sahara." Crowley assured her.

In the show, TV!Dean tries to wheedle information out of Gordon only to realise he's set on killing TV!Sam. Oh god a villain monologue… "Yeah fun,' Sam rolled his eyes listening to Gordon trying to justify his murders. He wasn't even that mad that Gordon was attempting to murder him but the asswipe really thought he was on to something. Yeah because of all of the Host, this idiot, this is the one that would change things. Sam snorted.

"Okay reasonably speaking, let's say everything goes Gordon's way," Mary proposed as TV!Sam arrived at the hostage location. "Does Hell step in for Sam or not?"

"Probably," Crowley frowned. "Likely. Thing is Sam and Dean are obviously big players in the whole cosmic game so they've got the ultimate plot armour so to speak. Nothing was ever going to harm them, not permanently anyway."

"That's debatable," Dean commented.

"I meant physically, the universe really doesn't factor in your mental state.

"Should." Mary said shortly.

Onscreen, TV!Sam set off both of Gordon's traps and caught the man unawares with a gun cocked to his head. Goddamn that's hot. Sam fought to keep a neutral expression, "Thanks doll." Ooooh I like flirty Sam.

"Gordon's face," Dean cackled.

TV!Sam and Gordon scuffle but ultimately TV!Sam spares Gordon's life. They leave and Gordon comes back to try and gun them down. Only TV!Sam thought ahead and called the police with an anonymous tip and he is arrested. "Well done Samuel," Rowena praised. "Such deceptive and cunning brains and beauty. You truly would've been the jewel of Hell."

"Thanks…I think," Sam sipped his coffee. Babes you're cut better than most diamonds. "What's with the flattery?" Can't a disembodied voice in your head offer a compliment?

Unfortunately the show didn't' end there. TV!Dean confronts Ellen about leaking information but Ellen swears she had nothing to do with Gordon finding out about TV!Sam. If that wasn't bad enough, on the drive back, they go check on Ava – who TV!Sam had sent home – only to find her fiancée murdered and the psychic missing. Traces of sulphur point to a demon's presence, Sam exhaled, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"Oh poor thing I liked her," Mary sighed. The show cut and she paused it, standing up. "Give me your dishes, I'll take them back to kitchen."

"I'll help you," Cas rose, collecting some of the plates and walking them back.

Sam got up too and waved his phone lamely, "Sorry guys I gotta make a call. Don't start without me." Before anyone could respond, he jogged out of the room and went to his bedroom, firmly shutting the door. "Are you okay?"

Yeah I'm fine.

"When are you getting out of there?"

A while longer. Don't worry hot stuff, the moment I get the sense my cover is blown, I'm out. They can't hold me, I've made sure of it.

"How?"

Tampering with some runes here, a modified spell or two there. Picture a magical tunnel out of Alcatraz Hogwarts. What's got your dander up so suddenly?

"I guess just seeing how chaotic our lives are, we're never really sure of anything. I keep waiting for the axe to drop. Something goes wrong, it always does."

Not this time bub, I've got things well in hand over here and as long as you keep playing slumber party, we've all safe and accounted for.

"I hope so." With that, Same returned to the group and settled in. "What's next?"

Dean grinned wickedly, "Oh you're gonna love this Sammy," he waggled the case. "Doll time."

A/N: Hey guys! Hope you're all doing well, safe and sound. I cannot guarantee a timeline here but I'm aiming to get to at least Tall Tales before the end of August. Until next time, ENJOY! R&R PLZ!
