"My name…is Death Phantom." The large head revealed. "Take your best shots, Queens of the Earth. You can not defeat me!"
"Oh yes we can." The future Queens chorused. Both their staff's lit up in a bright light.
"You want the earth? You'll have to go through us!" Sailor Moon shouted. She shot a bright beam of white light towards Death Phantom, accompanied by a golden light provided by Sailor Earth. The two hit Death Phantom head-on, but it only grew closer, so they forced their light to shine brighter. The light got too bright to handle…and then it faded, leaving everyone standing, wondering what was happening.
"Where is Nemesis?" Neo-Queen Gaia demanded, looking around. "Has it been vanquished?"
"Where's Sailor Moon?" Chibi-Usa wondered.
"And Sailor Earth?" Chibi-Kumi added.
"No…" Neo-Queen Gaia said softly. "If that attack caused Nemesis to implode…the shockwave could have hit them both."
"Oh no…"
"They can't be dead." Tuxedo Mask stated. "If they were, I'd know it, I'd know if my sister was gone." Everyone then turned as the Crystal Palace started to shine.
"The Crystal Palace…" Mars gasped. After a moment, Neo-Queen Gaia started to shine, and she disappeared in a flash.
"The Queen!" Jupiter and Venus gasped.
NEO QUEEN GAIA'S POV
I opened my eyes as the Crystal around me shone and retracted. I sat up the same time Serenity did. I let out a happy laugh as I slid off my dais. I hurried over to Serenity and pulled her into my arms. "I missed you so much." I whispered to her. "You were so close yet so far."
"I missed you too my love." Serenity replied. I cupped her cheeks and pulled her up into a kiss. She happily responded, placing her hands over mine. I pulled away, smiling at my beloved. I took her hand in mine and we walked out of the Crystal Palace. I glanced at myself in the reflection of the walls, relieved to see my own face staring back at me once more. I was wearing a floor-length white gown, with a v-neck that ended at my sternum. My arms were bare, but my dress was held up by cap sleeves, which were attached to a long, matching sheer cape that trailed on the floor behind me. My hair was the same, black at the roots that faded into silver at the tips. My tiara was nestled in my hair, moulded in silver with perls. I had reutnred to my royal attire, when Kumiko transformed, I could feel that my connection to the Legendary Golden Crystal had severed slightly, and my ability to transform had been stripped away.
"Someone's coming out." Mars commented,
"It's...Neo-Queen Serenity!" Venus gasped as she saw her. Venus' eyes turned to me, "Neo-Queen Gaia!" My eyes zeroed in on two girls in Sailor Suits. One in Pink and one in Green. Chibi-Moon, Chibi-Earth, my babies. Serenity and I fell to our knees as Chibi-Moon and Chibi-Earth ran into our open arms. I let out a shaky breath, I could hold them again. I buried my head into their hair, kissing it gently.
"Mummy!" Chibi-Moon cried as she and her twin held onto me and Serenity with all their 900-year-old strength.
"Mama…" Chibi-Earth sobbed.
"We thought that you'd never wake up…" Chibi-Earth admitted.
"Just look at you." Serenity said with reverence. "Our dear daughters."
"We are more proud of you than you realise." I added gently, pushing a piece of hair behind Chibi-Earth's ear. "Your awakenings revived us. I watched you both fight off the darkness that the Malefic Black Crystal had woven into your hearts."
"You both realised your true powers." Serenity continued. "As Princesses of the Moon and Earth."
"We're so sorry." Chibi-Moon said. "If it weren't for us, none of this would have ever happened."
"Mummy, Mama, forgive us." Chibi-Earth said, her head falling forward. "We couldn't protect you, or our planet."
"And now Pluto's dead…"
"All because of us…"
"Listen to us, it's not your fault." Serenity said gently. "You did make a few mistakes."
"But, you have learned from them." I added. "You've grown as a result."
"Now that we're fully recovered from our injuries, and our bodies have healed, we would be honoured if we could join forces, and you would help us defend this planet." Serenity said to our twins.
"Really?" Chibi-Moon wondered. "I always thought you didn't need us…"
"And that we always got in the way…" Chibi-Earth continued.
"Of course we need you." I assured. "Usagi, Kumiko, we love you, more than anything in the cosmos."
"We love you too." Chibi-Earth sobbed.
"But we don't know how to be Guardians." Chibi-Moon admitted.
"Don't worry." Serenity said soothingly. "You'll learn."
"You're our daughters." I continued softly. "We believe in you." Serenity and I looked to the Sailor Guardians.
"Thank you for your help." Serenity said. "I'm sorry you had to go through all this." We stood, and I turned to Pluto's body.
"I'm sorry, my old friend." I sighed, kneeling next to it. "Your sacrifice will not be forgotten." I gently ran my hand an inch over Pluto's body, causing it to glow. As I stood, the glow condensed, becoming garnet as it appeared as a sphere in my palm. I whispered a gentle prayer, before lifting it up. The garnet orb shot towards the palace and disappeared.
"After we became Neo-Queen Serenity and Neo-Queen Gaia, we lost nearly all our ability to fight as Sailor Guardians." Neo-Queen Serenity admitted to the gathered past Guardians. "We take full responsibility. If we had done a better job of defeating Death Phantom in the first place, Sailor Moon and Sailor Earth would not be in such danger right now."
"Does that mean you know where Sailor Moon and Sailor Earth disappeared to?" Venus asked.
"Yes. Unfortunately, the Nemesis that you all battled was merely an illusion." I started to explain. "Those Malefic Black Crystals warp space and time, they poison ones mind. To put it simply, the planet was never even here. If that's the case, that means there's a good chance that Sailor Moon and Sailor Earth are where Nemesis actually is."
"Usagi, Kumiko." Serenity looked at out twins. "It is up to you both. Only you are capable of finding Sailor Moon and Sailor Earth. As Death Phantom's hatred continues to fester and grow, Nemesis grows right along with it. Both must be sealed away, permanently."
"They both need help. But..." I sighed softly. "We can't do it, you have both stepped up and inherited the powers we lost long ago. As such, we have a task for you, your first mission." I held up a Space Time Key. "Will you both go forth, use your powers to help them where we are unable to."
"We will." Chibi-Moon and Chibi-Earth chorused, clasping their hands together.
"We want to be like Sailor Moon and Sailor Earth." Chibi-Moon stated.
"People with strong hearts." Chibi-Earth added. "Who aren't afraid to face the evil that faces them."
"And even though we just got our powers, and there's still a lot we have to learn, we're Sailor Guardians. If they need us, then we have to go." Chibi-Moon took the key from her mother.
"That's our girls." Serenity said with a smile. "Usagi, Kumiko, we have one more thing for you." Serenity and I lifted our hands, the Moon Rod appearing in hers and shrinking down for Chibi-Moon. My own staff appeared, the dark green shaft forming in my palm. It shrunk as well. Serenity and I handed the weapons to our daughters, who gripped them tight. Chibi-Earth and Chibi-Moon held the Space Time Key between them, and in a bright flash, both disappeared.
"But, your Majesties, shouldn't we go with them?" Venus asked. Serenity shook her head.
"We'll wait right here until the four of them return." Serenity said.
SAILOR EARTH'S POV
I cradled Sailor Moon against me as I waited for her to come too. I watched her as she slowly woke up. "Oh thank goodness you're awake, Usako." I sighed happily, drawing her closer.
"Kumi!" Sailor Moon gasped. "Where are we?" Sailor Moon started to look around.
"I don't have a clue…but I can only assume we're in deep space, far away from the Earth."
"Over there!" She exclaimed. "Look!" I turned to see a blood-red planet in the distance, and I could feel the creep of evil licking at my skin…and then I saw the face residing on the side of the planet.
"This planet, my host body, will be your graves!" Death Phantom declared. "Then I'll have the Malefic Black Crystal, the Silver Crystal and the Golden Crystal! With their awesome powers, the entire Universe will belong to me!" Death Phantom's eyes shone red and he let out a maniacal laugh. Waves of darkness shot towards us, and I held Sailor Moon close.
"So much blood has been spilled because of the Legendary Silver Crystal. Maybe the Crystal shouldn't exist, maybe I shouldn't…the universe may be better off without us…"
"Don't say that, Usako." I said, prompting Sailor Moon to look up at me. "Where the is light, darkness will always come for it. Think of all the people we've saved because of the Legendary Crystals. All we need to do is focus, believe in each other and ourselves, and keep going. And if you ever feel like you're lost, or unsure, just look beside you, and I'll be right there. I love you, Usagi, you are my entire life. You give me the strength to keep fighting, and I hope I do the same. I'm entirely yours, my heart, my mind, my soul…everything."
"You know what?" Sailor Moon asked softly. "I didn't realise until just now, we've never been able to use the Crystals full power, unless we were fighting side-by-side." Sailor Moon cupped my cheek and drew me into a kiss, which I happily returned. There was a bright light, and two figures appeared beside us.
"Sailor Moon, Sailor Earth!" Chibi-Usa and Chibi-Kumi chorused.
"We've come here on behalf of Neo-Queen Serenity and Neo-Queen Gaia!" Chibi-Usa declared.
"We may be small, but we can help!" Chibi-Kumi said.
"Chibi-Usa! Chibi-Kumi!" Sailor Moon gasped as we stood.
"Death Phantom!" Chibi-Kumi growled.
"I am the pretty guardian trainee!" Chibi-Usa said. "Who fights for love and for justice! I am Sailor Chibi-Moon! And now in the name of the future Moon! I'll punish you!"
"I am the pretty guardian trainee!" Chibi-Kumi echoed. "Who fights for love and for life! I am Sailor Chibi-Earth! When you're on my planet, you play by my rules, and you're not following them!"
"Pathetic little princesses!" Death Phantom snarled. "Now you're challenging me? You don't even know what power is!"
"Don't listen to him." Sailor Moon said, stepping forward and gripping the Moon Rod from the past in her gloved hand. "All you need to do is believe in yourself, and you can do it." I stepped up on the other side of the twins, summoning my staff.
"Clear your mind, concentrate." I added. "Trust in your power, and trust the Legendary Crystals. Then, when it feels like you can't hold it in any longer, follow our lead, we'll show Nemesis what true power is."
"Moon Princess Halation!" Sailor Moon and Chibo-Moon chorused.
"Earth Crystal Rejuvenation!" Chibi-Earth and I echoed. Four pairs of light shot towards Death Phantom, who groaned in pain. The planet then cracked, and then exploded, sending a shockwave through space. My eyes widened a little when the end of my sceptre shattered into a thousand pieces, and the broach pinned to my bow felt…lighter…and I blacked out.
NEO QUEEN GAIA'S POV
I let out a breath of relief as the sky turned from a dull greenish grey back to blue, once more, and three Malefic Black Crystal monoliths started to disintegrate, their particles flying off in the wind. I set a hand on Serenity's shoulder, prompting her to look at me and smile. Serenity lifted her hand and the Heart Moon Rod formed in her palm. Lifting my own hand, a green staff appeared in my grip, topped with a golden circle that held a glass orb that held a golden light, the Earthan Royal sceptre that my father once held that I had inherited. From the two of us, silver and green sparkles washed over Crystal Tokyo and across the world. Grass appeared under our heels, buildings were restored, and I could feel the souls of the people of Earth return. "The Queens brought the planet back to life." Venus said in awe.
"It's not our doing." Neo-Queen Serenity corrected. "Sailor Moon and Sailor Earth deserve your praise. The two of them, Usagi and Kumiko combined all their powers."
"Nemesis could not withstand the combined force of four Legendary Stones working in harmony." I added.
"Sailor Guardians, we shall now bestow upon you new Planet Powers." Serenity stated. We raised our sceptres that shone in unison.
"Sailor Mercury, Guardian of Wisdom." I started.
"Sailor Mars, Guardian of War."
"Sailor Jupiter, Guardian of Protection."
"And Sailor Venus, Guardian of Love."
"May these new powers allow you to fight alongside Sailor Moon and Sailor Earth for centuries to come." Serenity finished.
"It's so warm." Mercury said reverently, looking down at her arms as she shone blue.
"It feels like its overflowing." Jupiter added.
"Now then, Sailor Moon and Sailor Earth will all be back soon." Serenity reminded everyone. "They'll be arriving shortly at the Door of Space and Time. Go to them."
"What about you, your majesties?" Venus wondered. "Aren't you going to come?"
"Unfortunately, we can not." I said sadly. "We must return to the Crystal Palace without seeing our younger selves. It is forbidden for someone to physically meet their past or future self, such events could alter history altogether."
"So, in order to bestow Sailor Moon and Sailor Earth with new power, we must do it from here." Serenity finished. We lifted our sceptres once more. "Sailor Moon, the Guardian of Mystery."
"Sailor Earth, the Guardian of Understanding." I added.
"Sailor Moon, Sailor Earth." We chorused. "We give you these new broaches so that you may continue to keep the Legendary Stones safe and close to your hearts. We further grant you Cosmic Power! So you can keep fighting with more courage than ever."
SAILOR EARTH'S POV
"Sailor Moon!" A voice echoed. "Sailor Earth!" My eyes opened to see Chibi-Moon and Chibi-Earth looking down at me. I sat up slowly, and noticed Sailor Moon doing so beside me.
"Chibi-Usa, Chibi-Kumi, it's you." Sailor Moon gasped. "And…Kumi…" Sailor Moon's eyes fell to me.
"Tuxedo Mask…everyone." I trailed off when I saw my brother and our friends also gathered in front of the Doors of Space Time.
"Sailor Moon, Sailor Earth, you defeated Nemesis!" Venus said happily. "30th Century Earth and Crystal Tokyo are back to normal!" I noticed that Sailor Moon had a new broach, and looking down to my own chest, I noticed that mine had also been replaced. This time, mine was a four-pointed star, dark green in colour with the gems of mine and Endymion's four generals embedded at the points, and a small bead that resembled Earth at it's centre.
"Where are the Queens?" Sailor Moon asked.
"They're ok. They're fully recovered and are back home in the Palace. And now that the future is safe, its about time we were headed home ourselves."
"Everybody ready?" Chibi Moon asked, standing and lifting Luna-P. Chibi-Earth lept up and clutched her Topaz-P.
"Even though Pluto's gone, we can guide you to the past." Chibi-Earth added and hurried to the Door of Space Time with her sister. I stood, helping Sailor Moon do so as well.
"I know you want to meet her." I said softly. Sailor Moon looked up at me, and I gave her a half-smile as we headed towards the doors. "I do too, I really do, and I want to meet my future self too, to make sure she's ok…" Sailor Moon looked back at the hallway. She let out a small breath, and turned to the Doors before a rapid clacking of heels could be heard, and Sailor Moon and I turned…only to see our future selves rushing forward, pausing when they were a little bit away from us.
"Sailor Moon!" Neo-Queen Serenity called.
"Neo-Queen Serenity!" Sailor Moon gasped.
"Sailor Earth…" Neo-Queen Gaia trailed off.
"Neo-Queen Gaia…" I replied softly.
"Words can not express how greatful we are." Neo-Queen Serenity said.
"If it weren't for you, our home would be gone forever." Neo-Queen Gaia agreed. "Thank you so much."
"No, we should be thanking you." Sailor Moon argued. "We're so grateful, your majesties." I took ahold of Sailor Moon's hand, as more people appeared, the future incarnations of my friends stepped up beside the royal couple. Prince Endymion, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Venus…my eyes welled with tears as Zoisite, Jadite, Nephrite and Kunzite stood with them, dressed in the pristine uniforms that they wore in the past. Luna, Artemis, Topaz and Malachite gasped when their future selves appeared, accompanied by Diana and Amber. I smiled broadly, this was going to be our future, full of love and happiness, joined by our friends and family.
TIMESKIP
After settling back into the past, I waited for Usagi in Juuban park. She was bringing the twins…and they would be heading back to the 30th Century. They arrived sometime later. "Kumi!" The twins cried, running up to me and tackling my legs. I smiled softly, squatting down and hugged the two.
"Hey there girls." I greeted softly. "You shouldn't leave without these." I pulled away and pulled out two dolls, one of Sailor Moon, and one of Sailor Earth, handing the toys to them.
"Thank you." Chibi-Kumi said softly.
"You two be good to your mum's, ok?"
"You're our knight in shining armour." Chibi-Usa said.
"Even though you wear a Sailor Suit." Chibi-Kumi added. Luna-P and Topaz-P bounced up to the pair and beeped.
"We should hurry up!"
"Mummy and Mama are calling us." As if on que, the fountain started to shine. "Kumi, here you go." Chibi-Kumi lifted a sceptre to me...King Endymion's sceptre from my past life. "Mama wanted you to have it, to go with your new powers. She said you'd know what it is." I took it and held it tight.
"Thank you." I said softly.
"We never said it, but we always liked it when you called us Chibi-Usa and Chibi-Kumi." The pink-haired girl admitted to Usagi and I.
"Yeah." Her twin agreed. "It made us feel really special. And getting to stay at your house with your family…"
"We loved it!" Chibi-Kumi said with a grin. "Making friends and meeting new people! It was amazing!"
"We're so happy that we got to come here." With tears in their eyes, Chibi-Usa and Chibi-Kumi scooped up their toys and ran to the fountain. "Bye Kumi! Bye Usagi!"
"Out of everyone we loved you the best! We're going to miss you most of all!" Tears formed in my eyes as I stepped up next to Usagi, my arm sliding around her waist and pulling her close. The twins entered the light of the fountain and disappeared. Usagi started to cry.
"Usako…" I said softly, pulling her into a hug. "They're our daughters, we'll see them again." Once our tears had dried, Usagi and I sat down on one of the park benches.
"It's a bit like I just woke up from a really, really long dream." Usagi admitted to me. "Like the kind where it feels like you're riding a roller-coaster, you know what I mean?"
"I know exactly what you mean." I said. "Except, this time, it wasn't a dream, it was so real that we held it in our hands and saw it with our own eyes. It was the future, it'll be here faster than we can comprehend." I felt Usagi lean against me, and I smiled gently, wrapping my arm around Usagi and holding her close. Usagi looked up and pulled me close, kissing me. Suddenly, something hit my head, causing me to frown. Something of the same weight hit me again, and then two weights landed on me, and jumped off. I turned…and saw Chibi-Usa and Chibi-Kumi. The two turned to us, both with new broaches and large grins.
"Hey, we're back!" Chibi-Usa cheered.
"So, did you miss us?" Chibi-Kumi wondered.
"Chibi-Usa?" Usagi trailed off. "Chibi-Kumi? You're back?" The green-haired princess offered a note up to us.
"This is from Mummy and Mama! It's for you both!" Usagi took it and opened it up so we could read it.
"Dear all, I can't thank you enough for allowing Usagi and Kumiko to train with you. Please take good care of our daughters while they're there. Sincerely yours, Serenity and Gaia."
"Well, that is your handwriting, it sounds like something we'd right…and that was my signature."
"Yep, we're back in the past and we're here to stay!" Chibi-Usa cheered.
"You girls!" Usagi shouted.
