You know, the transmigration fantasy was always something we all thought about at one time or another. What if? ... But that fades as you get older and responsibilities overshadow the dreams.

However, even though they are overshadowed, they are still there, and even though it is not transmigration, seeing a work that is immersive enough is good enough, and that is why I enjoy watching One Punch Man, it is that kind of anime that is fun and epic to watch thanks to the combination of animation and its characters.

That's why when I finished it, I wanted more, so I decided to start the manga... and when I went to an illegal site to read it for free, my vision suddenly darkened.

Eh?

Was this karma?

The celestial entities thought it prudent to deprive me of my sight for taking away the livelihood of some translator of the official manga!

I consider their punishment to be excessive and I want retribution!

"Help, call a hero!"

That should say me, where is the hero of justice! I need to see it again!

Ah, as if I had gotten my wish, my vision began to clear.

However, instead of sitting in my room with my computer, ready to read late into the night, I was in the middle of a busy street in broad daylight, and a crowd of people were screaming and running in all directions like headless chickens.

As I looked around in confusion, I heard a faint beeping sound and a slightly translucent window appeared in my line of sight.

[Kill the monster to unlock your race and the system tutorial].

Huh?

As soon as the ad appeared, it disappeared. Just that? unlocking my race and a tutorial? wasn't that extremely uninformative? Besides, wasn't the tutorial supposed to come before the battle?!

But just as I was wondering about that, a growl made me turn around. There was a rather large wolf staring at me with red eyes and a metal-reinforced jaw.

My instincts acted before anything else... I immediately turned and ran. However, I stopped abruptly, a large shadow looming over me and I quickly threw myself to the side, feeling the asphalt scrape against my hands.

The pain barely registered when I saw the place where I'd been, there was no big patch of damaged asphalt or anything like that, just an extremely angry rabid wolf staring right at me.

huh? you know there are more people around, right? Is this a monster created by the system with the sole purpose of killing me or something?

Anyway, it doesn't matter, if I hold on a little longer, help will definitely come!

After all, if this is the world I think it is, someone is bound to come along soon and hopefully end it all!

I dodged again, this time a little farther, and lost my balance, leaving me with no choice but to slide down the gravel asphalt, feeling my hands rub against the hot midday asphalt, and though I felt like grunting from the wound, my instincts made me roll to the side as I continued to desperately dodge, narrowly avoiding another attack.

With another half jump, I made it to the sidewalk, the fire hydrant there for support as I used it to prop myself up, breathing heavily.

I looked around as the wolf growled at me, apparently annoyed at how I dodged its attacks.

Hello?

Guys?

Is there anyone who can help me, or at least don't just stand there like a fool, call someone, damn it!

As if in response to my pleas, I heard a series of shots, it was obvious they were aimed at the wolf as it growled and electricity coursed through its body as it shuddered.

It roared in anger as it turned to another threat, finally putting me aside for the moment. There were bullet holes in its back, revealing the creature's mechanized interior.

The officer, who had bravely stepped forward, fired two more shots... before the beast pounced on him and slammed him into a glass window, crushing him.

And with the anger neutralized, the beast turned its head toward me with a rumbling snarl.

The screams of the crowd in the street, which had been subdued, returned in full force at the sight of the cop so easily defeated.

My only saving grace now was that the wolf seemed to be a bit stiff and not as agile, so I had to work with that.

The rumbling sound of the growl and the red eyes made me swallow my saliva, from the way the creature was crouching at the front of its body and getting ready, it looked like it wanted to end this once and for all.

I turned slightly, and with a plan in my head, I didn't move, just stared at it, swallowing my nervousness and fear.

With a snort that seemed disdainful, it charged forward at a speed similar to a car, and at the last second, I jumped aside.

The object that had been hidden on my back revealed itself, but it was too late for the monster to change course, so it ended up crashing into the small red object, and before I could dodge, a fountain of water erupted from the hydrant, engulfing the wolf, who roared for a moment before being extinguished.

I lay on the ground as the artificial rain poured down on me. I was lucky that my gamble had worked; if the water had not harmed it, it would have been torn to shreds by now.

As the raindrops slid down my face, the transparent window reappeared.

Eh... if I could become a Kyptonian... here, in this world and not in DC... wasn't that super broken?! my main weakness didn't exist! if I completely unlocked that race, maybe only Saitama could really beat me. I haven't read the manga, so I don't know what monsters there are, but I could probably beat them! Even now, with only 1%, I feel really strong! It felt good to be under the sun!

As I caught my breath on the street, taking in what had just happened. Over the sound of people calling the police and ambulances, I heard the labored pedaling of a person.

"Mumen Rider!" A random person shouted, and his shout was followed by several others.

"Mumen Raider!"

"Thank heavens!"

They seemed more relieved that they could just leave all that tedious business in the hands of a hero.

But the guy in the green helmet and brown suit ignored them and stopped his bike next to me before quickly dropping to one knee to examine me.

"Hey buddy, are you okay? Good job beating that monster."

"Yeah," I said, pointing to the storefront where the officer had crashed. "But there's someone there who needs help, so stop wasting time and go."

Mumen Raider glanced at the spot before looking back at me, then gave me a nod and ran toward the spot.

Maybe it was because of my new self with 1% Kryptonian blood, but I didn't feel tired even though a few seconds ago I had been sweating like a fat man in the gym.

After Mumen Rider's appearance, a few more heroes arrived, all C-Class if I remembered correctly, which annoyed me because if they had come earlier, I wouldn't have had to fear for my life, and the ambulance arrived shortly after.

They almost completely ignored me in favor of saving the policeman, who was badly injured but still alive. They just told me to rest and that the association would take care of everything. I think they thought I was a hero or something…

Mumen Rider, once everything seemed halfway resolved, approached me. "What's your name? That Wolf level looked pretty strong."

"Uh... my name is Dan."

He looked at me for a moment before shaking his head at me with a smile. "I meant your hero name."

"Ah, I'm not a hero."

"You're not a hero?... "He looked at me, "So, how did you defeat that thing?"

"It was luck and survival instinct."

He put his hand on my shoulder, "That alone is not enough to defeat something like that, you have to have the spirit of a hero to stand up and defeat evil, you should take the test, I'll even refer you."

I actually defeated it because it was specifically chasing me... but I couldn't tell him that.

"But I don't have any special powers or anything..." I shut up when Mumen Rider raised an eyebrow at me. "Ahem, no offense.."

"No problem, just think about what I said, you can help a lot of people by becoming a hero."

"I'll think about it."

He nodded. "That's enough. See you, Dan."

And so Mumen Rider rode off on his bike, pedaling quickly amidst some enthusiastic goodbyes from the crowd.

It was weird that I had beaten the monster and no one congratulated me, what was I? A ghost? well, anyway, I got up and although I was wet and a little sore, I wasn't too bad. I even felt stronger.

Well, I was now 1% Kryptonian, surely my strength could reach the human peak or even surpass it right now.

Wait a minute, was it correct to say that I was the human peak?... after all, there were very powerful humans in this world... what other measuring system would there be around here?

I shrugged my shoulders as I thought about the trivialities.

"System, do I have a house?"

[Affirmative. In Z City, there is also an ID and some money in the wallet in your pocket].

"Nice... wait? Did you say Z City?"

For some reason, I had a bad feeling about this.

(***)

The trip to Z-City was quite long, I basically spent most of my money on trains and buses. By the time I arrived, it was night, and that damn abandoned city was really scary. Needless to say, there is no transportation in this city, so I had to walk to the location given by the system.

Well, actually not all of the city was abandoned, but there were so few people that it might as well have been.

I prayed all the way that some monster wouldn't kill me on the way.

I was tempted to go back many times, but my money was not enough for another bus, let alone a hotel, and I had no choice but to go forward.

I stopped in front of the familiar building and couldn't help but feel sweat running down my forehead.

"System, do you find this funny? Isn't this the Saitama building that gets attacked by stupidly strong monsters every day?"

Yep, no, bye.

I turned around and... I stopped.

I sighed, at least as far as I knew, the rent was free or something, and there were plenty of monsters here, I could strengthen myself while Saitama was my babysitter or something.

Even if I was attacked, I had Saitama as a neighbor, so I was sure that he would save me if I was attacked by something too strong.

He may be lazy and emotionally detached, but there's still a little spark left in him.

Well, first I had to introduce myself to him.

I smoothed my damp shirt and walked confidently towards the entrance. The building was old, no doubt, and there was dust everywhere, but at least it didn't look like it was going to fall down anytime soon.

I walked in and was greeted by a rather simple reception desk, deserted of course. The key I had was for the upper floors, so I went there, looking around like a tourist as I made my way up the dusty stairs.

Then I got to my door, looked around, and there seemed to be no sign of Saitama... I hope this isn't some kind of AU where he doesn't exist or something, that would be fucked.

Anyway, I entered my new apartment.

Hmm hmm, it would almost be cozy if it wasn't so messy and dirty. I sighed as I looked at what I had to do and the thought of leaving this place and looking for something else crossed my mind again... but I had no money except for a few meals, so I could only abandon that idea. Besides, I wasn't a pussy, if I wanted to get stronger quickly, this was the right place.

I sighed and stretched as I walked in, there was no sign of Saitama, so he was probably asleep or out shopping, so I didn't worry too much about that and went to the room, I was damn tired.

(***)

Luckily, this house had a closet full of clothes in my size, so I decided to waste no time, and after sleeping through the night, I decided to go train.

After all, although I felt that my strength had increased, I knew that it would barely be enough to defeat a wolf level with effort and pretty serious injuries. The power levels here were absurd, and while I had a chance to become one of the more powerful races, I had to do it quickly before the whole thing blew up.

I walked out the door in my gym clothes and ran into a brick wall.

"Ah, sorry..."

It wasn't a wall, it was a person. A bald person with a blank face.

Saitama... I breathed a sigh of relief even though he was sitting on my butt on the floor, seeing him there in shorts and a t-shirt with shopping bags in his hands was surprisingly comforting.

"Don't worry." I stood up quickly and held out my hand to him.

I quickly wiped the dust off my sports clothes as Saitama examined me, giving me a cheeky sideways glance over my shoulder.

"Are you a new neighbor or something?"

"Oh yeah, I am, I hope we get along..."

God, that was embarrassing, why does he look at me with that dull look on his face... he looks like he could suck my soul.

"Ah, yeah anyway, hmm, well, I'll go, goodbye" It seems he was affected by the atmosphere as well, so he made a tactical retreat, a good decision.

Anyway, this was a relief, because as far as I could see, there were pretty strong opponents, I even heard about a god or something, while the Kryptonians were strong, I didn't know what version I had, so I wasn't even sure if I could defeat such big threats.

(***)

Finding a monster in this abandoned city was surprisingly easy.

"Ohh? A human? Hehehe, I just wanted to..." before the shrimp-shaped monster could finish, I ran towards it and punched it with all my might. "Guh!"

"Shit!" Needless to say, it hurt quite a bit, but luckily I didn't break my fist.

The giant shrimp lay on the ground, coughing as it writhed around, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity.

I immediately started kicking it, just like in those gangster shows where the gang beats the shit out of someone, that was me, kicking and punching the shrimp until it started coughing up blood and finally stopped writhing.

"How fucking gross" I couldn't help but say, at the same time holding up my fist covered in blue blood.

[Wolf level monster defeated! +0.1% Kryptonian blood].

Well, this couldn't be that hard.

With this in mind, I walked further into the city, still cautious of course, I didn't want to scratch the lion's balls and die so soon, I would only take on small fry for the time being and then move on to bigger leagues.

"Kekekek, I smell a human."

Ah, here comes my other victim.

(***)

"N-no way" I felt light, but not light because I was strong, but rather a feeling of lightness caused by weightlessness.

I was bleeding all over the place, my clothes were sticky with monster fluids, and I couldn't see much out of one eye because it was swollen and I probably had both fists broken, but at that point all that went by the wayside because I was floating.

This happened because as I was trudging painfully back home after defeating a pack of wolf-level monsters that seemed to be in a meeting or something, I tripped, but instead of falling face first onto the pavement and possibly dying in the stupidest way imaginable, I stopped a few inches off the ground as if held up by an invisible cable.

[Kryptonian Blood 3%]

It was obvious that I would be able to fly sooner or later, but that it would be so soon surprised me, but still, I tried to control myself and stabilize myself as best I could, and before my brain played a stupid trick on me, I let myself fall gently to the ground.

Yeah, I'm not going to fly now that I'm injured, I'm sure I won't be able to control my descent and end up crashing, and even though my endurance and strength could be considered supernatural right now, I was injured and would surely pass out or die right away if I hit the ground head on or something, so I'd better wait a little longer.

But come to think of it, this floor is so comfortable, if only I could get some sleep...

No! I'm going to get up before something bad happens, I don't want my poor defenseless butt exposed on the street like this, I refuse!

I inhaled and exhaled heavily, and after getting up with a grunt, I continue my walk.

Now it was just time... and my world went black as I crashed to the pavement.

(***)

"O-oi, you, are you okay, do you need help or something?" I heard a familiar voice calling out to me.

"Leave the TV on or something?" because that voice sounds strangely like Saitama's.

I woke up with a start.

I looked up to see a heroically dressed Saitama looking at me, confused and perhaps with a hint of concern.

"What?"

"I asked you if you needed help, why are you sleeping here? The apartment is more comfortable."

"Huh?" I looked around, and sure enough, I was sleeping on the street, and by the way the sun seemed to be rising, I slept through the night.

"I'm fine, I just went out for a workout."

Saitama nodded. "I see, good luck then anyway," and just like that, he walked past me.

I sighed as I rubbed my eyes, gagging. I looked down at my clothes, they were bloody but my wounds seemed to have healed, my fists no longer hurt or anything.

"Hehehehe," that could only mean one thing.

I immediately stood up, raised my fist to the sky, and jumped... nothing happened.

Huh?

"Fly!"

Still nothing.

"Hmmm, strange."

Maybe it was just a reflex? If so... I looked around, there were several tall buildings, and the brief thought of throwing myself off one, but I shook my head. The inherent human fear of getting hurt kept me from doing something so reckless, but aside from the buildings... there was an abandoned grocery store.

It was the height of a house, with my new power I certainly wouldn't get hurt if I fell, and it could help me control this power as soon as possible.

I walked up to the store and instead of climbing or looking for a ladder, I tensed my legs and jumped, with a simple leap I reached the roof and after stumbling a bit, I smiled. This could be fun.

After dusting myself off, I approached the edge of the roof and looked down, shrugging my shoulders, I jumped, waiting with my rational mind for a blow and with my heart to fly.

I closed my eyes as the ground came closer, but the impact never came, and again I smiled happily. I opened my eyes, I was floating, and like a baby learning to crawl, I laughed as I watched.

Now then... maybe, if I only wished, I could move forward? Ah, it worked, now I was moving, it was easier than it looked.

With the sound of the wind, I soared into the sky as I shouted with joy.

(***)

Finding weak monsters while flying was surprisingly easy, my senses were getting better, and wolf-level monsters were no longer a threat, I could basically kill them in one hit.

All this in just one day!

[Mission completed: Kill wolf level monsters to increase your genetic purity. 200/200 (Each monster killed grants 0.1%)]

[Kryptonian Blood 20%]

Advancing through the clouds with a shockwave. A few hours ago, it was freezing cold up here, but as I killed more monsters, I basically felt nothing. I accelerated once more and enjoyed the resulting blast. I knew I could go faster, but I didn't want to overdo it and crash into a plane or something, so I just kept my speed high, but gave myself room to see the city below.

This world was huge, maybe even bigger than Earth, though I could never be 100% sure now that I had not been able to fly before.

I watched as the sun began to set, so I started to descend towards my house, my clothes were dirty and I felt sticky, I was dying to take a bath.

As the buildings started to look bigger, I slowed down, I put everything I had into trying to level myself as I descended, I was able to land on my feet, although I made a small dent in the concrete of the sidewalk. All those failed attempts to fall were worth it.

Feeling a little sad that the warm, comforting sunlight was gone, I went to my room.

(***)

Come to think of it, I didn't really know where I was in the canon. However, my best guess was a few months before the anime started, which gave me enough time to grow in strength, I didn't know how or when this system tutorial would end, but at least it gave me some strength in this verse.

As I relaxed a bit, watching TV and eating cereal, a thought came to me. I had to make friends with Saitama. Maybe it was a self-interested thing, but having him as someone close to me could save my ass in a sticky situation.

I got up with a plan in mind, grabbed a measuring cup from the kitchen, and opened the door. I walked down the hall to the door where I knew Saitama lived. I also heard the sound of the TV, so I knocked on the door.

The sound of the TV stopped and I heard footsteps, I kept a polite smile as I waited. The door opened and a bald head came out.

"Ah..." He saw me holding a cup and seemed to understand something. "Sorry, I don't have any."

I felt my smile tighten. "You don't even know what I'm going to ask for."

"..."

"..."

"I just want a cup of sugar."

"I..." I gave him an intense look and he sighed. "Wait a moment. "He closed the door again and after a while, during which I only heard the sound of the latch being removed, the door opened all the way. "Come in, I'll get some sugar."

I smiled. "Thank you. What's your name?"

"Saitama."

"Ah, I'm Dan." I replied, he nodded and moved towards the kitchen with my cup in his hand.

As he left, I had time to look around the iconic room. It was messy, there were badly arranged sleeves and it looked like he hardly tried to keep order, but it wasn't too bad either.

"Here."

He handed me back my full cup and waited patiently for me to leave, but I came here with the intention of making a friend and apathy was not going to stop me.

"Thanks," I nodded, "but you're a hero, aren't you?"

He tilted his head slightly, as if wondering what that question had to do with anything. "I just do it for fun."

I nodded, "I'm trying to become one, but doing it in sports clothes is really unhygienic, do you know of a place?"

He looked at me, "I see, I know someone."

"Great!"

"I'll give you the address..."

I immediately took off and grabbed him under the shoulders and although I thought he would be heavier, he was surprisingly light.

Unfortunately, I also went through his roof and the building itself. This seemed to annoy him. "Hey! You're going to pay for that."

As I soared higher into the sky, I let out an uncomfortable laugh. "I don't have any money."

"Then who's going to pay for my roof?"

"You, consider it a loan, I'll pay you back someday."

He clicked his tongue. "If you don't, I'll sue you."

"Sure, sure. You better tell me where to go."

He sighed before pointing me to a place in town, and with a smile, I sped off.

"Woah."

I was giving it my all, I even passed the sound barrier, and he just made a single noise and didn't even blink, talking about being broken.

" Watch out." He warned.

I looked up and desperately dodged a plane. I couldn't help wiping sweat from my forehead with my shoulder and swallowing saliva. I almost became a villain all at once.

"haha... I've seen it before."

Needless to say, I did the rest of the trip at cruising speed.
