I got an idea from a fanart. I know this ship is controversial at best but I really like the premise of a slice-of-life build around a female Gilgamesh and a Shirou who was adopted by Kirei.
This chapter serves to establish the characters of the main pairing.
Enjoy the fic. Because I'm barely updating it.
It was a bright full moon. The red-haired priest stood in front of a sigil, fossilized snakeskin in hand. His mentor stood behind him. Monitoring his every movement. Lest he make a mistake.
"Shirou…are you ready?" His mentor called his name, face as cold as the stone walls that cover them.
He young priest nods, mimicking his mentor's expression. "Yes, teacher." His name is Shirou Kotomine, foster child of Kirei Kotomine- and he is about to commit a taboo. A ritual used by the heathen mages of the association.
His mission? To retrieve the Holy Grail and have it sealed by The Vatican. And he needs help for that task. Help that comes from ancient times. The King of Heroes, Gilgamesh. The Archer servant of the previous war, who lost to the Saber servant in their final battle. With his strength, Shirou would accomplish his task easily. Provided he take caution.
He was warned of the King's bizarre temperament, and aims to provide what he could.
"Shirou, begin." Kirei commanded.
Shirou nods. He outstretched his right hand onto the air. 'Oh, Father in Heaven. Forgive me for the trespass that I am about to commit!' With a heavy heart, he spoke;
"Let silver and steel be the essence."
The first line was spoken.
"Let the stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation."
The calling of a demon, Paimon. At this line, a sin is committed. He must go through.
"Let gold be the color I pay tribute to my great ancestor Solomon."
For he committed the same sin.
"Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall."
The barriers of time, broken.
"Let the four cardinal gates close."
Space itself focused to a single point.
"Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom Above rotate."
For the second stanza.
"I hereby declare!"
"Let your will be bound to my body."
The light of the sigil became brighter, the wind itself becoming foe to the summoner.
"Let your sword guide my destiny."
"Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail."
"If you comply to this will and this reasoning…Then answer!"
Shirou exhaled. The final stanza. It's now or never.
"An oath shall be sworn here!"
"I shall attain all the virtues of Heaven!"
"I shall crush all of the evils of Hell!"
"From the Seventh Heaven, attended to by three great words of power!"
"Come forth from the circle of binding!"
"Oh, Keeper of the Holy Balance!"
"Kuh!" Shirou grunted as the sigil shot up a pillar of light, colored red and gold. He stood up, the wind hit his clothes, letting them wave through the air. He clutched his crucifix, holding himself back from being blown away.
Not long after. The wind and light subsided. There, at the circle was bizarre figure. "Kuhahahaha!" A feminine haughty laugh came out of the figure. As the smoke cleared, Shirou saw what he would describe as an icon of debauchery.
A soft, perfectly sculpted face that reaches the marble perfection of the goddess Venus. Crimson, snake-like slit eyes that woe and trap anyone who gets a glimpse of its gaze. A flowing golden waterfall of locks that encapsulates her divine beauty.
And her clothing. Exposed as if an invitation. A body shape that should make all men- Nay! Even women and lose all restraint and reason. But the gold ornaments, even the exposed clothing say otherwise. 'You aren't worthy' it mocked.
And finally. That smile. Reminding you of your lowly place, beneath her heel.
"Hmph, you are in utter awe. As you should, Mongrel." She said, waving her hair in the air.
But that was not the reason why Shirou's mouth was agape. "Wha- who-!?"
This was the day he learned. That thousands of years of buried history- could lead to some mistakes… mostly misgenderment.
2 weeks later.
Shirou stood in front of the corrupted grail. They had almost one. They put the Matou heiress to rest, purging Matou Zouken and his unholy existence, killing rider and true assassin in the process. Overwhelmed Caster and her Master. Convincing Lancer's master to give up the war. And finally, killing the Tohsaka heiress' Saber, Arthur Pendragon, it was close battle, but they won. Killing berserker was easy, even with Gilgamesh' miniscule mana supply due to her master just because of the sheer number of her noble phantasms.
And now, with conviction in his soul. He stood in front of his goal. The Holy Grail. Or what WAS his goal at least. Now, he could not even begin to think what suffering such cursed thing would do if fully manifested.
It was his dream as a child. When father Kotomine first found him. To help as much people as he can, to not let tragedies such as the fire he was found in occur again. During his pilgrimage, he found himself helping others, and it gave bliss to his empty soul. And now he could not believe what he was doing.
Anger in his eyes, he gazed upon the figure in front of him. Kotomine Kirei, his- mentor, his father. Was trying to release the mud of the grail upon the world. Enacting a tragedy of biblical proportions. And behind his was the lesser grail, the vessel, the Einzbern homunculus that was sent with the purpose of becoming the catalyst for the grail's birth.
He just knew, the mages, those heathens in the Einzbern Family. They sent a child to suffer this Fate. He could not stand it, it was not of his oath as a holy man. "Teacher! Why are you doing this!?" He yelled.
Kirei grinned, for the first time on forever, which sent a shiver down Shirou's spine. "Don't you get it, boy?" He approached the young man, his towering stature dwarfing the master-servant pair.
Gilgamesh opened a portal and threatened to shoot. "Don't you dare hurt him, you filth!" She spoke.
"Hah!" He laughed, like it was the funniest joke he had seen his entire cursed life. "How ironic!" He outstretched his hands. "King- or should I say Queen Gilgamesh! You were the one who taught me this! To revel at the suffering of others! And you were right! It gave me an utterly almost orgasmic bliss! And now, you will be the subject of my joy. As thanks!" Kirei yelled, as if giving a sermon.
"You lie! I do not remember such a thing." Gilgamesh objected.
"Of course you would not. Servants do not retain memories of previous summonings. Unless you were of unique circumstance like Emiya's King of Knights." Kirei clenched his fist, preparing for an assault. "Back at the topic at hand. Your death!"
His fist collided with Shirou's black keys. Wounding his hand a little. "Aak!" But not without a cost. Blocking such a strong attack could kill any normal person. Even with reinforcement, Shirou felt the shockwave that the punch emitted.
Three golden swords passed beside Shirou. Kirei jumped back to dodge but one of the blades scraped his toe. Shirou looked at his back, in horror. "Gil! You're too exhausted from Saber's fight! Do not exert yourself even further!"
"Hah!" She shot a bitter laugh. "You underestimate me, Shirou." The golden servant stood tall and opened more portals. "Enkidu has given me worse!" Just then, dozens of portals appear behind her, each one of them holding a noble phantasm.
Fwish!*
With a shot. A rain of metal fell upon Kirei as he dodged it with all his might. "Useless. All this effort will not matter in the end. You are prolonging the inevitable. And I am only buying time until Angra Mainyu's birth." Uncannily, Kirei spoke in a calm voice.
"Tsk! As hard to kill as a fly." Gilgamesh winced. "Shirou!?" She looked down. As if knowing what to do next.
Unexpectedly. Shirou grabbed a sword from the ground, it has a simple gold hilt and a simple blade. It radiates unfathomable power. He rushed himself to Kirei. "Raaaah!" He cried.
"Now!" The golden queen shouted.
The false priest tried to block the blow. "Wha-!?" But it pierced through his fists. "How!?"
"Teacher. I will put your woes to rest. And may the Father up above judge you fairly!" Shirou spoke, which stunned Kirei for a moment.
"Shine your light upon this sinner!"
"Reveal thy true nature!"
"Oh, Sword of Original Sin!"
"Aak!" Kirei tried to kick Shirou back. But he was too late.
"Merodach!" With a shout. A pillar of light pierced through Kirei's torso, burning away half of his body.
Moments later. Merodach's light dissipated through motes of light. Shirou looked at what he's done. He killed his father, and he felt nothing but emptiness. No guilt, no anger. What he did was right. But why does he feel like he's forgotten something?
He looked up and gazed upon the bleeding hole in the sky. The corrupted grail. The Einzbern homunculus' body has disappeared, meaning the true manifestation of Angra Mainyu is upon them.
"Shirou." Gilgamesh called. "I have one solution left…" She spoke in a tired tone. She reached through the empty air. With crack, a golden object appeared in her hand. "This unworthy filth would sully your greatness. But forgive this foolish king. As she does not have a choice left." It is Ea, the Sword of Rupture.
"Stand back! Shirou! Gaze upon my beauty as I swing the final blow!" She spoke in a confident tone. Shirou could only watch. He cannot dare approach that sword.
"Gil- no!" He shouted. He doesn't know why. But if she continues with this action. He- this dread, this cannot be wrong. He knew that he would lose her here.
"Utter foolishness! If I die here then I must go out leaving a mark!" She lifted her hand. The "sword" started to spin as the noise it makes cuts the space itself.
"Hearken, I will tell you of the beginning."
She started floating, being lifted an unknown force.
"Heaven and Earth split, nothingness congratulated genesis, my Sword Rupture cleaved the world!"
"Mortar of the stars, heaven's hell is the eve of creation's celebration!"
Now, she was up in the air. The energy around her compressed in an awe inspiring radiance.
"Now, you shall return to the void!"
With a swing. The Earth trembled.
"Enuma Elish!" A beam of red twister hit the black grail with all of its might. Evil cannot withstand the sheer power of innocent but unrelenting force of nature itself. The hole in the sky slowly closed as the drill stopped spinning. The grail was now gone, nothing remains of it. Only a hole in the ground.
Gilgamesh went limp, she fell through the sky as the red-headed priest caught her in his arms. She opened her eyes, and saw the crying face of a young man who never cried. She touched his cheek. "Was I…beautiful?"
Shirou nods. "Y-you never were not." He said is a hushed voice.
"Heh, excellent. Then I have no regrets." She laughed weakly. "Was this what Enkidu felt? To sacrifice yourself for the one you love the most." The golden king exhaled. "…It feels…liberating."
"No." Shirou objected. "Nononono." He panicked. "You gotta have something in there! Aything!" The young priest trembled. "You always do this. When I think that it is hopeless. You always pull something out of that treasury of yours!"
"Sadly… as much as I hate to say it but I do not think that I have the strength to do so anymore." She pulled his head to her lips. "Fret not. Someday a miracle would happen… and should we meet again. I will declare you my husband properly."
"Heh." He chuckled bitterly. "You know I could not get married, right?"
"…Underestimating me til' my last moment. My love, I do not adhere to the laws of a deity I do not worship." She smiled sweetly. "You should know that by now."
Shirou smiled back, he felt his strength leave his body. "Yeah, I know." And then everything went to black.
?
Shirou Kotomine opened his eyes as his vision was assaulted by the blinding sunlight. What happened? He thought. Where was he? He looked at the ceiling and noticed a light bulb. He recognized it. 'Wait, I installed that lightbulb last week!' He said to himself. 'Shit I gotta get up!' Just then, he felt his hand touch a soft object. Now that he thought about it his arms feel heavy.
"Wha-?" Just as he turned his head. He saw lying beside him, a beautiful woman sleeping. Fully naked. The soft object that he touched was her *ahem!* behind. Her thigh was in his hip, and her bosom in his shoulder. Just then, he noticed that he was fully naked.
"Gilgamesh!?" He bolted out of the bed. "I-I thought-!"
"Mghm~" She rubbed her eyes. "How rude. To leave your wife in bed like that. I expected better of you…Shirou? Why do you look at me like that?" She tilted her head.
"W-wife?" He mumbled loudly.
"A king does not break their promise. Remember?" She rebutted in a playful tone. "Now hurry and dress me-!"
Bang!*
The door opened itself.
"Who dares-?!" Gilgamesh pulled a weapon.
"Oh, pardon my intrusion. I seem to have disturbed your copulation." Shirou recognized that irritating tone. That mocking voice. It's-
"Caren!?" Shirou yelled.
The white-haired nun entered the frame and bowed. "A jolly morrow to you, brother." She turned to her right. "Also to you, incarnated servant. Archer." She said in a monotone voice.
"What are you doing here!?" Shirou asked. Covering himself with a blanket.
"-Hm? The Vatican sent me here. I came to deliver a message but I seem to have come in… an inconvenient time." Caren replied.
"Wait. This is a misunderstanding." Shirou turned his gaze to the naked blonde in the bed. "Gil, tell her we didn't do anything." He pleaded.
The golden servant passed for a moment. Before puffing her chest and making a smug grin. "Very astute observation, nun! You are indeed disturbing my quality time with Shirou!" She spoke, making Caren cover her mouth.
"Oh my~!" Caren spoke.
"DO NOT MAKE IT WORSE!" The poor priest yelled. It seems that the eventful time does not end at the Holy Grail War. It was merely starting.
As you can see this is pretty short. I aim to take this thing slowly so I do not run out of ideas. Next update might take a long while since I'm a busy as ever. But still, follow and favourite.
Review too! I appreciate it.
