Adamant for Adaman

Author Notes: Huh...wasn't expecting people to like this, let alone so soon lol. But thanks for the support guys. Welp, it's time to get another upload in. This time with a completely different perspective. I do not own Pokemon.

Scenario: Finding Sanctuary with the Diamond Clan instead of Jubilife

3rd P.O.V

"Welcome back sir!" Joyous greetings and smiles surround him on all sides, making him all the more grateful to be home. "Thanks everyone." The sun was beginning to set, yet for the leader of the Diamond clan, there was still work to be done.

Starting with checking in with those on patrol. "Has there been any word on my sister?" Mai hasn't been seen since this morning...and it was worrying. "No. I'm sorry Adaman." He gritted his teeth, worried.

Since seeing that strange series of dark clouds and lightning flash he had assumed a terrible storm was brewing. And with that, expected his sister to return. Yet there was no rainstorm, nor any sign of his sister.

He would give her till morning, then he himself would go out and search. As a member of the Diamond clan-and just due to his personality, he was not one who believed in wasting time. But he also knew Mai.

She was quite capable of handling herself with munchlax by her side. And it wasn't the first time it's taken her longer than usual to come home. She did mention that she would be heading towards Jubilife Village to investigate the strange giant pokemon aggressively acting up.

So he wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt and hope she just got held up thanks to the distance. Or the Galaxy Expedition Team kept her back. He would wait until dawn, figuring that would be more than enough time for her.

With those thoughts, he went towards his tent with his partner leafeon following him every step of the way. If he was going to be awake, waiting for the arrival of his sister, he would at least make sure he was being productive.

So he goes about doing his paperwork for as long as there was still light in the sky. And afterwards he would grab himself a bite to eat and check once more with patrol for updates. However, as the sun finally faded away, bringing forth the hours of darkness...the patrol came to him.

Mustering a panicking apology as they all but barged into his tent. "What is it?!" He could feel his heart pounding deeply into his chest as the head guard speaks. "Your sister has returned with an injured girl with her."

Adaman wasted no time, he and his pokemon rushed out of his home, reaching the entrance of his territory within moments. "Mai!" His elder sister offers a small smile in greeting, but is otherwise occupied.

And with good reason as he takes in the stranger on her back. "What has happened?" It was hard to tell what was wrong with the girl. She was unconscious, but there were no wounds to be found on her. At the very least no deep gashes or bruisings. Not even taking a second to gander at the odd attire she wore.

"She had fallen out of the sky today brother. I saw her descend from the dark clouded heavens." His eyes go wide at that. "She fell?" Why was she brought here though? "Is she harmed?" By the time of the formed clouds made their presence known Mai had to have already been in the Obsidian Fieldlands.

Why bring her all this way? "When I found her no. I had checked her out and escorted her to Jubilife Village in the hopes that they could help her. She told me she had no home, nor one to consider kin. And both of us were turned away at the gates." At that the clan leader grits his teeth.

Appalled and enraged. Though it was wise to be wary of newcomers, when Almighty Sinnoh brings forth a phenomenon as incredible as this it means something. That there is a purpose. And even then, clearly the girl is unarmed, doesn't even look remotely dangerous...surely they could've at least talk to them!

But that was neither here nor there. At least he had a sound explanation as to why his sister was so late. "That doesn't explain her unconscious now. Or why you brought her." He wasn't trying to be mean.

He wasn't angry that Mai carried her into their home, but he needed to know what is going on. And his elder sibling was not being fast enough with her story. A fact that made Mai sigh in exasperation. Not really surprised with his behavior.

"Patience brother. I had offered her sanctuary since she had nowhere to go. But on route we had stumbled across Professor Laventon. He was surrounded by a series of paras and an alpha parasect." Immediately he could see where this was going.

Now analyzing his newfound guest a bit more closely, he noticed her covered in something. Something he was all too familiar with. "Poison spores." In the Crimson Mirelands, poison was all too common.

Whether it be from some of the gasses that came from the various swamps or the pokemon inhabiting it, it was always a risk. "We had gone to his aid, but munchlax and I found ourselves paralyzed, unable to move." Even now, despite taking care of her condition she still felt a tingle within her body.

Which is also what slowed her down. "She had a pokeball in her hand, and summoned a vulpix to protect us, distracting the alpha. While doing so she was hit with its poison powder and sleeping powder." Well then it was no wonder she was knocked out.

Even with some of their more experienced healers- who arrived in the middle of Mai's story, promising to take care of the girl- it didn't deter the anxious feeling now hitting them. "Were it not for her pokemon all of us would've been worse off." Both Mai and the Diamond clan owed her for doing what she could to help.

Risking her life for a few strangers, though could be seen as foolish, was a brave and kind thing to do. "Laventon swore he would get help and rushed to Jubilife but they refused to come. I tried making an antidote for her, but..." She didn't need to say anymore.

As resourceful as the woman could be, Mai was not an expert healer. With such events occurring it would have been reckless and a waste of time to wait around in the wilderness for Laventon to succeed in getting proper aid.

Pokemon though not necessarily as dangerous as the ones here, were and could still be a threat. So Mai had to move. "I take it Wyrdeer was summoned?" At that his sister smiled. "He came before I could play a single note." Now That had his attention.

"Truly!?" Wyrdeer was a very proud and powerful pokemon. A guardian that runs all across the land. Though he cares for the world and life in it, usually does not get involved with humans unless requested by his warden or Adaman himself.

So for him to come before Mai even summoned him was a true marvel indeed. "She's special brother. I know how strange my tale sounds as well as the potential risk it is bringing her here..." He raises his hand, stopping her from continuing.

An easy going grin on his face, though the anger from before was still there. "Say no more. I have no qualms giving this girl both my thanks as well as sanctuary. Though...my next meeting with the commander is NOT going to be a pleasant one." Not if he has anything to say about it.

to be continued

Author Notes: Imagine if you got to pick where to fall? That'd be crazy~ Sorry Pearl fans but Adaman spoke to me more. Not only do I think he's cute, but he is one that cares about time and following through on getting things done.

It helps that my very first mainline pokemon game I owned/played was indeed the original diamond. So yeah...I have no shame. But ahem, that is it for now everyone. If you like this story please feel free to fav/follow/review as it means a ton to me. Tchao for now.
