Mysterious Pokemon

Part 5

Author Notes: Here we go! Final chapter of the Mystery Pokemon Arc~ And ooh this is going to be a doozy...especially since Shishi was unconscious the last chapter. Now let's get going, I do not own Pokemon.

3rd P.O.V

Things came back to Shishi in bits in pieces as pain exploded all over as well as a tight pressure specifically on her frame. A hiss ran through her lips as she tried opening her eyes, shifting her battered body. "Shishi? Shishi!" She recognized that voice, which only encouraged her to move more.

Of course that also meant more pain. "Stop! You need to rest." With cracked eyelids she found Adaman there, holding her in place as with gentle, wrapped fingers. "But the kangaskhan-" She cut herself off, finding herself nearly nose to nose with the baby cuddled again her chest.

"Huh?" That explained the pressure she felt, but she was so confused. "I know you have several questions but calm down. All is well, minus the injuries you and several pokemon took. The mother kangaskhan followed us into the village-wait stop." Adaman meant well.

He really did, but hearing that was the final nail in the coffin for Shishi. No matter what she was probably going to fight staying in bed. It just wasn't in her to stay down for long, even when the medical specialist insisted.

Considering the situation present however, she wouldn't obey even if the God of pokemon told her to-this was something she could not ignore. She rose from her laying position. Grimacing the whole way, she forced herself out of bed.

The baby pokemon was whining as it woke up from the shifting covers. "Kang! Kanga!" The survey corps member huffed as she was grabbed. Those stubby, yet sharp nails dug into her side. Adaman shook his head seeing her pick up the kangaskhan but knew better than to try and stop her.

"She's no longer on a rampage. Things have been relatively peaceful..." That wasn't enough for her. "The little one needs to be returned back to her mother...and there's someone we need to go after."

He glanced up to the ceiling, praying silently to Almighty Sinnoh before following her out of the medical room. Thankfully dressed along with the bandages. "By the gods!" Both of them suddenly surrounded with people. "Shishi you're ok!?" Akari, Rei and Laventon were all there.

As was Irida along with several other members of the corps, both new and old since her arrival. Their loud voices were overwhelming, but despite her injuries she stood proud and tall. "Shishiiiiii!" Adjusting the little cooing normal type to rest against her hip.

She smiled, looking at complete ease as she walked on, as if she didn't get nearly mauled by a crazy monster pokemon. "Of course I am. Now...if you don't mind, I have a delivery to make." The various members obeyed, all moving out of her way so she could continue without issue.

Adaman was tempted to laugh but simply followed on. "I'm sure this could have waited another day. Or at the very least for me to explain what has transpired." She gave him a wry grin.

"True. But I feel uneasy leaving the current situation be. Though things may be peaceful now, that can change quickly." He couldn't blame her, but still sighed all the same. He opened the entrance doors for her.

Allowing her passage to see the mother kangaskhan sitting down, staring. The big mama wasn't too far away, but close enough to where if she wanted to or if the baby started crying, could've simply barreled in.

The girl took a deep breath, wincing while doing so. "Do I want to know how long she's been out here? And how badly Kamado and Cyllene have been stressing?"

Shishi turned towards Adaman, watching him clear his throat. "Four days..." A sigh escaped her, not...entirely surprised. "I see..." It was actually a miracle that she was alive-let alone so mobile with the wounds she had.

"What about Clover and the rest of her group?" All the more reason why Adaman was at her side, waiting to catch her if she collapsed or strained herself too much. He noticed her wince as she carefully bent down, allowing the mother and child to finally be reunited.

It was a warm, touching sight when the two embraced. But... that never should've happened in the first place. "She's still locked up, her sisters there with her. All of them, like the others have been waiting for you to wake up." The Diamond clan leader looked away as he admitted that.

Knowing there was no point in hiding it. "Perfect. Mind grabbing them for me? We have work to do." She was already up. "Will you be alright here?" She raised an eyebrow, not entirely surprised with his worry but still felt the need to give him a look.

"If she hasn't thrown a tantrum this whole time, I doubt she will in the few minutes it will take to grab the Misfortune bandits." She sat down on the large stone steps as her companion rushed back in, promising to be quick.

It gave her the time to think. Specifically about what happened. When things had gone wrong. Her memories despite the trauma were still clear in her mind. Allowing for her to analyze everything that occurred. As well as pinpoint the culprit behind the little explosions.

Honestly, it wasn't even a question of who was responsible. She watched the mother, catching her protective gaze. "Mind bringing us your owner in a bit? He pulled a nasty stunt a few days ago."

She felt foolish assuming things-despite her past experiences-had a chance of going well without any sort of issues. But she had been so occupied with making sure the baby was cared for...she didn't think about the owner.

And more importantly what he would've done to ensure violent results. "About time you got up." Shishi didn't move or even turn their way, but she heard all of them approach her back. A smile formed on her lips.

"Morning ladies...you ready to get things rolling?" Charm walked past her, her face in that typical scowl she's well known for while she tried peering into her face. "What are you talking about?" Coin and Clover followed soon after, all of them crossing their arms.

Examining her injured state. "I'm sure the owner is missing his precious pokemon. No doubt worried that he hasn't seen them in the last several days." Clover planted her hands on her hips, confusion etched into her annoyed expression.

Shishi really needed to work on her sarcasm..."Just how badly did you smash your head? What the hell are you worried about him for?" Or at the very least add more emphasis on her words.

"You guys are a real buzz kill you know that? Let me be clear-I want to pay the bastard back for nearly killing me. I'm sure you guys are still pissed off for being played like a fiddle-are you three going to help me take him down or not?" Their eyes light up in understanding.

Making her huff in frustration. She had thought they would've understood how she operated by now. "Finally!" Clover was rubbing her hands in glee while she smirked. "Hold on Clover-is there anything we need to know about this guy before we head out?"

Coin held her sister in place. Waiting for Shishi's response as Adaman helped her to her feet. "I got an idea. If you give me a few minutes and go along with it-we'll all get to end today on a good note." The three bandits each raise an eyebrow.

"We're listening." Trying their best to quell the shudders that racked up their spines, but failed in doing so. Never had they'd seen the hard working girl in front of them smile with so much wicked intent-and silently agreed to not mess with the girl for awhile after this was all over.

Bird pokemon were squawking high in the sky, the air smelling of sea salt. A gentleman was pacing along the beach, worried. "What's taking them so long?" Sweat dripped down his balding head as he swiped it away with his glove.

He grumbled under his breath before he felt it. Loud, thunderous steps shaking the earth. The man dressed in a black suit and top hat grinned as he turned around. Relieved to find his pokemon return, her baby nestled in her pouch.

"Good girl!" He smiles as he patted the giant pokemon's belly. "Did you do serious damage at that village? I'll bet you did. By now the place has been abandoned right?" Immediately he returned the mother, daughter duo back into their ball.

Whistling a tune as he makes his way to the village. He kept his eyes peeled for civilians while he made his way. But much to his excitement there was no a mortal to be found, nor any hostile pokemon. "My my...she did quite the number."

He took note of the deep fissures, broken barricades and even blood that littered the entrance. The deep, heavy footsteps of his precious kangaskhan were found all over the place alongside broken buildings.

"It's even better than I hoped!" Greed overtook his frame as he walked through shattered glass, picking up the remains of valuable evolution stones, gold nuggets and money. Stuffing them in his pockets and briefcase.

A hum filled the destroyed village when he walked along. "Hey...why did you do that to me?" Chills overtook his frame as a cold, feminine voice rang out. "H-huh?" There, leaning against the entrance he just passed...was Clover.

Blood splattered all over her clothes and pale skin. "You never meant to give me the money...did you?" A nervous laugh escaped him then. "Pa-pardon? What do you mean? Why I have the money right here!" He never expected her to live. Where did she even come from?

"You happy with the deaths you've caused?" Another woman he had never seen before, Coin, was across from him. Leaning against shattered glass with a knowing look in her slashed, crimson eyes.

What joy the man found deep within his being was gone, now replaced by dread. "Deaths?" He couldn't ignore the bloody injuries or the way the limped his way. "You're a real piece of work-we may be bandits...but even we wouldn't have stooped this low."

There, right in front of him was another woman, Charm. He stared deep into rage filled eyes. "You-you've got it all wrong! I never meant-" He could smell the stench of decay from the gaping claw formed hole in her chest.

Soft, low growls hit his ears when Charm and her companions suddenly vanished. Now surrounding him was mutilated pokemon, all snarling with glowing milky, white eyes. With one girl standing in front of them.

The girl with bones piercing through tattered flesh. The one whom he sabotaged with explosives, Shishi. "Don't play dumb. Lies get you nowhere Mr. Conman. You knew what would happen the moment you allowed Clover to kidnap that baby Kangaskhan."

She stumbled closer, the malicious sounds around him growing louder. He wanted to run, but he was paralyzed. Bound by the deep, dead eyes glaring back at him. Chipped nails embedded into his shirt.

Bringing him close. "Did you honestly think I would rest in peace like this? That I would allow you to get away with the crimes you've committed?" She laughed as she threw him to the ground. That laughter echoed and distorted.

He winced, clutching his ears. "I'm sorry!" It rang and rang, vibrating his entire body as he curled into a ball. "You're not sorry." Charm was back, now next to Shishi on her left. "Not one bit." Then Coin, on the girl's right. "But you will be-guaranteed!" And Clover who was sneering right in front of him.

A gasp left him when he felt his pokeballs, all of them levitate away from him. "No!" One by one they land in each deceased girl's hand. "Quite the collection here." One pokeball breaks in Charms grip.

"Just how many victims have you duped and killed?" Then another, the pokemon still around them grew more ferocious and impatient. "How many times have you robbed towns blind?!" Coin didn't bother wasting time and shattered all that were in her possession.

Not apologetic in the slightest. "How much damage are you willing to cause until you're satisfied you greedy, backstabbing bastard!?" Clover threw her shattered balls at him. He coughs, feeling the wooden remains fill his mouth. "No please! I-I'll stop. Just don't kill my remaining pokemon!"

His top hat fell to the floor when he turned, his gaze meeting each enraged spirit while he pleaded for mercy. Shishi smiled, but there was no warmth or sincerity found within it. She squeezed, the pokeballs in her hands trembling from the pressure.

"You know...we pleaded for our lives when you angered Mama Kanga. You-left all of us to die. Things could've been settled peacefully. But you threw explosions at my feet. Deciding my fate while you ran like that coward you are!" Her grip grew tighter.

The man's eyes widened in horror. "I'm sorry! Please by the great heavens above I'll change my ways. Just don't-" He was cut off as the pokeballs broke into pieces. Falling to the ground in front of him.

Desperately he reached for the slivers. Flinching as they clung through his gloves, pricking his fingers. Suddenly a sharp headache formed when a black hole swirled beneath him. "Wh-what!?" Everyone, both the girls and the pokemon that had been tormenting him...their eyes turned red.

"The time for judgement has come." Hands, claws, tentacles gripped at him from beneath the glowing light under him. "Judge-no please! I can't go! I don't-" He felt himself being dragged. Screams tore through his ears while he cried. His heart pounding erratically before his vision went dark.

He collapsed, fainting onto the ground. Breaking the illusions. "Holy shit..." Shishi huffed as she tossed the man's unbroken pokeball up and down. "Well done Phantom~" Her zoroark purred as she petted him with her free hand.

Leaving both the bandit sisters and her companions around her dumbfounded. Stunned and terrified of what they just saw. "Now let's get him into a nice cozy cell shall we?" Two older men from the survey corp hesitate forward.

Swallowing the fear they no doubt had before taking Shishi's victim away. "What the hell was that?" Clover winced when she met the blonde girl's gaze. "That...my dear weed is what can happen when a ghost pokemon dives a bit too deep into my imaginative mind."

All three thieves glance at one another. "Is that right?" They honestly had no clue what to say. "Now...for your sakes, I'd suggest you take heed of this incident. Let it be a reminder that I'm not one to mess with. I don't want to see any of you for a good long while. Understood?"

A part of them wanted to argue. To give her a rude remark. But after what they'd just seen. With one pokemon, coordinated movements and her own imagination she created such a dark, twisted hellscape just to break one man. And done so easily as well...

It terrified them to their core. "Indeed." So without further word, the trio disappear in a flash of smoke. Getting as far away as fast as they can from Shishi and Jubilife Village. "Alls well that ends well."

"Oww." Adaman couldn't help but roll his eyes as he listened to her groans of pain. "I told you not to overdo it. Yet here you are, once more stealing my partner to use as a model for your pokedex. Is this really necessary? You've already drawn him multiple times." She stuck her tongue out in defiance.

Mainly because that was really all she could do. Her tongue probably being the only actual part of her body unharmed from this whole thing. "This is the first and only time I was ever able to use ghost type illusions for payback on a conartist. I'm celebrating by drawing and you can't stop me."

A sigh escaped the diamond clan leader as he held his bandaged hands up. "Don't come running to me when you need a change of bandages. I told you, as well as the healers, that you need to rest. How you've managed to live this long is beyond me." At that she laughed.

"For all you know I died a long time ago. And Phantom here is just making illusions." Several individuals stopped when they heard that. Worry and fear etched on their faces as they stared at the bantering pair.

Adaman crossed his arms then, not amused in the slightest. "No pokemon, no matter how talented they may be could perfectly copy your stubborn, reckless traits." She shrugged at that, before frowning at her pokemon.

With his own crossed paws, Phantom nodded, agreeing the human male. "Traitor..." Phantom snickered, giving his trainer a gentle hug before returning to his pokeball, his job done.

Chuckles rang through the room before Shishi resumed her sketch. This time leafeon was doing a handstand(or is it pawstand?) on a pillow, his tail in the swirly shape. Adaman sighed while taking a seat next to the survey corp member.

"So you never told me how you were so knowledgeable about this 'scam' involving kangaskhan." Shishi hummed as she twirled her pencil. Tipping her head up as she got lost in thought.

Searching her memories. "Back in my time. There was a place I worked at that reminds me a lot of the Crimson Mirelands. There, a group of people, myself included were dedicated to helping pokemon that had low number populations."

At that she took a new sheet of paper towards the end of her pokedex. Ripping it out of the book, she placed the page on top, making a rough drawing the place. She drew the trees, swamps and rivers that intermingled with the tall grass.

"Often times we dealt with thieves that tried kidnapping the pokemon to sell or keep to themselves. Once in a blue moon we also dealt with individuals like Clover's conartist. Only difference being instead of theft, they'd drop off the baby pokemon, claiming they couldn't take care of it or wanted to live a less confined life."

Her face pinched as the memories came flooding back in full force. Adaman watched as she flipped the page over, drawing on the clean side several different pokemon. All but the kangaskhan unfamiliar to him.

However, he could tell they were big, ferocious creatures. "Like with what we saw, the individual's would pretend to cooperate, only to send out the parent pokemon after us. Back then I wasn't as good a battler, and dealt with life threatening injuries on multiple occasions." Things were making sense now.

"No wonder you've been able to adapt so well here." She snorted, a small, insecure smile there. "I wouldn't say adapt well. But surviving? I can do that. I've faced danger so many times that things...don't exactly faze me anymore." What little fear she did have was more so for the village's sake.

They could barely handle a regular, pint sized pokemon. They panicked the moment an alpha was so much as mentioned. Seeing that Mama Kangaskhan no doubt was going to haunt peoples' dreams for weeks.

If there was anything Shishi was dealing with that, was stressed. "Fascinating. Were you still working there before coming through the rift in the sky?" She sighed, leaning against Adaman, her smile a touch wider when leafeon fell onto the pillow.

No longer able to stay upside down. "No. I wanted to. But my boss had been worried for my health with how unlucky I was. You're not the only one amazed that I've lived this long." Leafeon whines, nuzzling her leg.

"Still, despite the ongoing issues, I liked working there. And at the very least, the experience has made it much easier for me to pinpoint trouble and deal with it." Her hand reached down, rubbing soft fur.

Only to jolt when she felt Adaman rest his head against hers, a shudder coursed through the both of them. Though Shishi wasn't sure which of them it came from. "Well I for one am fortunate that you are here. Without you there would've been more than just you and few pokemon injured."

She didn't respond to that. Though a warmth spread within her, reddening her cheeks. Together they spend a few moments of peace filled silence. But a thought comes to the blue wearing male. "One final question...is casting illusions not allowed in your time?" Shishi pursed her lips.

Crossing her ankles together. "I mean...it's not technically allowed? We have individuals who are given special privileges to enforce the rules of society, so common individuals like me aren't allowed to really confront people or in my case torture them with ghost type illusions."

He raised an eyebrow at that. "You? Common?" Her grin turned sly at that. But didn't bother to answer. Not really in the mood to go into the details involving police and how the government had changed in the two different time periods.

"In any case. Illusions are considered very dangerous. Go too far like what I did today and it can do some serious mental damage. That man isn't going to be the same ever again. Usually I'd feel bad-but he nearly succeeded in killing me and my pokemon so I feel it was deserved."

At that Adaman shrugged, not really able to judge. Though he probably wouldn't have used illusions, he would've made him suffer for all the trouble caused. "I don't think anyone could blame you for the decisions you made. Though I imagine many are now looking at you in a new light." She was fine with that.

More than fine as she patted his arm, silently asking for him to get off her. Which he did. "Maybe that'll give me a break from my missions for awhile." The two of them rose from their positions on the floor.

"Not the injuries?" A yawn fled from Shishi's lips as she made her way out the door. "Nope. Cyllene had been flooding my home with endless tasks sent in by the villagers. No rest for the weary, let alone me."

He frowned at that. "In that case, allow me to escort you home. I think after everything that has transpired, you deserve the time to recover. I'm sure Hisui could handle a few more days without needing you to save the day." She hoped so, but she wasn't holding her breath.

to be continued

Author Notes: Welp that's another chapter for the books. And well...this is why I am not allowed too many ghost pokemon folks. Not only is that Sen's type of pokemon more than me-but look what happens when they're in my hands lol.

I will admit this was a bit difficult to write since you know-I had to make an oc character for the bad guy. But a lot of fun none the less. But that's it for now. Thank you so much for reading guys. If you like this series please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a lot to me. Tchao for now!
